So I used Zumocast on my Droid 3, was nice. Could it (now called Motocast) be ported to the N3xus? Or would an older version work (before it was integrated into Blur... and was still being called Zumocast) ?
topic was brought up before, no responses :x
I was able to use an older version of Zumocast with a Galaxy S2 so I assume it would work with the Nexus. I actually use Plex...works pretty good if all you need is access to media.

if you have the version from samsung apps can you post it please? I found one on internet but its not the same version which comes with sgs 2. it must be pretty old I dont even know if they even updated that app.
Yh, id also like to see the version from the S2 posted here.
I think the version for the S2 might be slightly different as the video editor from samsung apps only works on the 2.2 roms and not the 2.3 roms.

You can find the complete system folder from galaxy s 2. I tried to install email.apk and video editor.apk but it doesn't let. I also copied them in system/apps folder but still doesn't show up in the app drawer.
I don't know why it can't even install. Maybe someone has to port it?
The interface and functionality is superb for Video Maker on the S2. The only problem -- and it is a big problem -- is that the transitions do not work at all well. It's not at all smooth doing a dissolve, for example, and even just cutting between two clips on the timeline, and rendering into one movie, causes the second clip on the timeline to start from a "paused" position for a second, when it should be a competely smooth transition from one moving clip to another moving clip. Really hoping Samsung can fix this ... it's v v smooth on imovie for iphone4 with lesser hardware.
Ok, so im interested in a particular incar double din radio which supports Mirrorlink, which basically allows apps from a smartphone to be put onto the screen by blutooth and usb and be used as normal as if the app was installed on the doubledin player. Howerver the Mirrorlink is only "certified" on certain devices.
As far as ive read on the forums here its been discussed for other devices but development and discussion went nowhere but it was found that it was entirely software and there was no hardware requirements which means it "can" be used with other non certified phones but it would have to be a modified .apk obviously.
Are there any dev's willing to take a look? the Samsung galaxy s3 is a supported device and its been reported that the s2 also works despite not being "certified". Its been said its not just as simple as getting the apk and installing it.
data here:

I knew it was a longshot, back to the drawing board i guess :fingers-crossed:
I'm interested in this too - don't have the headunit yet to test it but don't see why we can't install the Samsung app on an HTC phone? Looking at mirrorlink it seems to be some sort of VNC app so its entirely in software... Did you try installing the samsung apk at all?
Hey guys, I wound up digging around wanting to add Google's Car Home app when I flashed a couple different ROMs and lost the similar app that came from Samsung. It wound up being pretty simple to do and it's been working great on my S3.
I wound up writing it up on my blog, you can find it here:
Manually Installing Google's Car Home App
The steps I wrote aren't necessarily specific to the S3. I had success with a few other Android devices too.
I haven't tried your version yet, but with previous versions on my VZW SGS3 Google Car Home loads and runs fine, but as soon as I customize it (add / remove apps), it no longer loads and FQs.
Have you noticed anything like this with your setup? Thanks!

No, I haven't noticed anything like this at all. That seems weird to me (although, I imagine there's a reason that Google doesn't list many devices as compatible in the Market).
I would recomend trying the version I've got out there and then also maybe installing it as a System App to see if that fixes your FQs?

I used TB to pull com.google.android.carhome.apk (v2.2.1) and com.google.android.cardock.apk (v2.2) off my Thunderbolt running 4.0.3 (I can't even remember what rom it's running now). After installing both to my GS3 (4.1.1 stock), Car Home seems to be working fine. Good thing, too, because all the alternatives in the play store suck.

Any way you could post those APKs?
Hello,
I would like to buy a subscription to t3 magazine, but the free reader app is marked 'incompatible':
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodwing.t3
Can someone upload the apk somewhere so I can try it?
It should be okay to ask for apks of free apps right?
- Frank
I think you should post that question on this forum's tablet section since it appears to be only compatible with:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Motorola Xoom 1
Motorola Xoom 2
Asus EeePad Transformer Prime 10.1
Asus EeePad Slider
Acer Inspire 10.1
Or you can also try to flash any Paranoid Android rom and set Google Play to tablet mode, it might (I say might) allow you to install it.

I don't think that will work.
As far as I know, google play goes by device, and doesn't care what rom you are running on it. (outside of perhaps version number).
I don't see why it wouldn't run on the galaxy note - whether stuff is too small to read, and buttons easy enough to push is another story.
I could see pages not being 'zoomable' since it's assumed you are on a 10 inch tablet.

Well that's why I said it might work. Though I still think I've had access to different apps on the market while running Paranoid Android rom..
Has anyone gotten the Note 3's version of S Note working on this device? It doesn't show up on the Galaxy Apps store (4.4+ I guess?), but there must be a modded version or something. I love love love S-Note, and I want badly to sync it with the desktop software but the stock app on my phone uses .snb files instead of the newer .spd so they won't talk to each other. Any help? I tried using this. It installed OK, but won't run. Thanks!
I was sure I'd find posts about this here, but searches brought up nothing. The search engine doesn't seem to handle "s note" properly. My apologies if this is a repeat.
