[Request] Odex ICS theme. - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Would be really awsome if some1 could make a Odex ICS theme.
There is currently a ICS theme that is for deodex JVT. But the last update on it was 1 Nov. So I dont know if he will post any more updates.
Here is the CM7 ICS theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310925
Here is the DEODEX JVT ICS theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316749
Why odex?
Because its optimized and several reports on odex being smoother and faster than deodex. Even if the differance is not huge its still better.

I agree! +1 for ODEX ICS!

I second that!

You got my vote, too!
There aren't enough Odexed themes available.
Is it possible to convert a Deodexed theme to Odexed?
And if so how would one go about it?

ics odex theme would be greate

odexed ICS theme pls
please ICS odexed. it would be very great.

I seventh this.

+1

I used the ICS theme that was meant for deodexed and it actually worked ! btw I'm using oserx Odexed ROM, and I'd still recommend to do a nandroid backup before flashing the theme

An odexed ICS theme would be AWESOME!

Just curious, what do you people have against deodexed roms? (If you say warranty I will virtually punch you).

I have voided my warranty 200 timed so it's certainly not that. It's because odex is faster and more smooth. And less memory used. It's only marginally better but anyway.
If you haven't noticed, more and more ppl have started to make odex roms/themes/tweaks lately.

The deodexed should work as has been mentioned. It's pretty easy to odex, deodexed files. Been after an ICS theme myself, so might look into it this week. But don't wait on me, is nerdy fun, everyone should learn to odex

I've made my own theme for the S Plus, but it should work for the i9000 as well. Not everything is looking and will look like ICS, I'm still working on it, and originally I've made it for my own In general I only have changed the png's in framework-res and systemui. At the moment I have two main problems. The text in the notification-bar under "Ongoing" is black and I don't know how to change. Furthermore in the settings there are grey bars but I don't find the linked png. If I have to change this in the .xml's it would be great if someone upload the edited ones or what png it is. I will upload the zip tomorrow or today about 12pm, by now I'm sitting on the train. Just flash the zip via the Recovery. Credits go to the other ICS-theme in this forum for some buttons and images and to a theme for the Galaxy Note.

Would be great. Also I don't think there is no need for fixed search bar, i don't kinda like it in ICS.

Someone can tell me, how to do a odex theme from deodex?

So it is possible to make Odexed versions of the various Deodexed custom themes which are available, by odexing deodexed files?
Would you be able to give some instructions for how to do it?
I'm sure many others, besides myself, would also find it of great interest.

Guys, this theme (ICS) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316749 is deodex, but working on jvt odex

Themes for stock EC05??

Hey is there a theme that will work for the stock EC05?? Just curious. I actually like the stock ROM and how I have everything set up. Im just wondering if there was any theme that would work on it. I do not want to be the test/crash dummy so if anyone knows if one works would be very helpful. Thanks in advanced.
The first thing you need is to run a deodex version of ec05 because you can't theme a stock rom. I have two themes that work on ec05, froyo crystalline and giger. Fucshia fusion too if your a fan of pink!

This is probably a really stupid question, but is there a deodexed version of stock EC05 available?
I just upgraded to EC05 and getting WAY better battery life than I was with EB13, but I am getting sick of the stock ROM, most specifically the stock lockscreen.
Thanks for any help!

Hey Dream,
Not sure if you know but the link in your sig is broken. I am new to this so could you explain what part of theming requires you to be deodexed? I am wondering because I recently started screwing around with changing the icons. Just curious to know what my limitations are and when being deodexed becomes a requirement or what benefits you get from being deodexed. Thanks for any info you can provide.
i want stock ec05 rfs just deodexed so i can theme it to the gingerbread theme.

Me too! I'm happy with the stock rom, its giving me better battery life than the few custom rom's I've tried.
I'm easily getting 20 hours on stock rom where I was getting no more than 10-12 hours on a custom rom, with all the same settings.
I miss the aosp gingerbread theme!
I am using launcher pro so I don't have to deal with touchwiz, but I miss the aosp lockscreen and transparent notification pull down and blacked out notification bar
Yeah I agree with most of you. I am getting GREAT battery life. I am not experiencing the TWS bug or anything. My TWS is always at 0% when I check it. And my battery life is the best that I have ever had on this phone. I do not want a custom ROM..But would like a deodexed version of the stock ROM so I can use themes. Anyone feeling generous enough to make it happen for all of us?? Pwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase!!!!
Well, I agree. I find myself venturing off and trying custom roms, but I always seem to go back to stock for reliability. I just cant seem to find a rom that just works as well as stock. I would also like to see a deodexed version of stock.
If I could ultimately choose a perfect setup it would be Stock, deodexed, zipaligned, No carrier iq, kernel wired tether support, and TV-OUT.

Thank you for all the work you have been putting in on the odexed ROMs. I have always prefered odexed, and I have to say they do move much faster and for some reason the battery is better for me.
Speaking of battery, I can get over a day and a half on stock ROM and stock kernel. But, I would like to use the AIO mod, as well as some of your other additions. Any chance you can help me create a stock ROM with AIO, stock kernel, and odex? I would also need to set this up to be done through ODIN as I do not want CWM or any other changed kernel.
And, I don't want you to have to do it...you do too much for us already . Just a point in the right direction or a little help with doing this would be perfect.

to be quite honest.. that was the goal of this project. However, I inadvertently used the AIO that said everything and I didnt realize it had his theme. I think his theme is simply amazing.. however, I can understand the desire for simply stock plus AIO.

Actually I noticed the difference between Odexed and De-odexed with his ROM.
In the past when I had HTC Hero, EVO etc and people used to talk about Odexed and De-Odexed I did not notice much difference, but this phone has great hardware and you immediately notice the difference. Seems like I am going to have Odexed for my daily driver, though I will keep trying everything that comes out. We need dual boot for flash-holics like me.
I'm testing it now.
Feels very smooth...even though quadrant only 3200.
I'm not diggin the font too much and it's missing the ad-block-mod.
But overall it's pretty damn sweet.
Good job Steve! Thanks

Personally I would love to see something very simple, no themes or UI changes at all, and simply 3 features:
1x/3G Mod
Hotspot Hack
No CIQ
Start with something very simple as a base, then add on top of it.
This might sound strange but my signal strength is vastly improved on this rom it would seem. Haven't done a speed test yet, but my bars are higher than on calks rom or starburst.
Is that possible or are the bars activated at different frequency levels on this rom?

I was hoping for this actually... So the demand for me is there I wanted something that was with all the features but nothing cosmetic as far as theme goes. Would LOVE that.
I'm not familiar with odexed but I want to give it a try and see if I can tell a difference? What am I looking for? Also can I drop themes like overstews ciano theme on here without issue? TIA

[Theme] [1/9/2012] Another ICS Theme EL26/ EL29(2 versions).... check it out

When I got my Epic Touch I flashed Overstews first ICS theme. I liked the black menus with the blue highlights and decided to keep it even though all the other ICS themes went to the grey menus (like ICS really has). A lot of apps are themed. I used images from Overstew and Vertumus, and put my own touch on things. All the apks are optimized and zip aligned. I try to elimate images that arent being used, etc. Anyway, check it out, let me know what you think.

Odex Your ROM - Universal - Super Snappy!

I didn't see any scripts to convert ROM from deodex to odex, so I figured I'd round one up. I've been using odex'd ROMs since Ammikan started doing to back in my Evo 4G days. I think it definitely speed things up and should give you a more stock snappy feel. I'm sure there will be some debate about actual performance, but I wanted use it and figured someone else may want to as well so here we are.
DISCLAMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE AS A RESULT OF FLASHING THIS!!!!!
By request I added an additional zip for odexing your /data/app folder. The zip will keep the classes.dex files inside your apks and make things easier to update/revert.

I then tried a setup that had the aio mod and my status bar disappeared. Its possible it was a fluke or maybe the odexed aio mod would be flashed after this on the ROM. Outstanding work! If some people running a ROM with AIO mod can give it a shot, it would be great...as OP says.. nandroid first but damn, that was easy!

Make a nandriod, flash and if u dont like it just restore your nandroid. I know my apps lauch stupid fast & odex reduces ur dalvik utilization. Ill find some info & post in op after I get to work.

As a user of strongsteve's odex rom, I do notice better performance when compared to deodexed ones. Same goes for odexed roms I use whenever I switch out between my evo 3d. I will definitely give this a try on maddoggin's rom since that one is also another favorite of mine and see how it goes.

How about a script to deodex as well? Food for thought.

Works great on madoggin's ROM with lockscreen mod.

Extracting smiles and add to other themes

Hi I'm a old epic fan that went to the dark world of MoPho but I'm back now...I found a theme on the MoPho and loved the Smileys from the theme and wanting to add them to the blue cm9 theme I'm running on the epic...so my question is how should I go about finding them and making a cmw flashable zip or just add them to the epic from the other theme?

Not really advisable
With the CM9 beta out, unless the theme is approved or proven to work on SGS2, custom themes can kill the rom and making it a pain in the rear to fix. just an FYI :/
Usually they are in the framework-res.apk the drawable-hdpi folder or which ever dpi the phone was... depending on what application you want the smilies in is were you need to paste them... for example you want your sms app to have the smilies then you would unzip the apk and find the drawble-hdpi folder and place them there... android emoticon names are usually similar so no renaming should need to happen they should be something like emo_happy or emo_sad. =]

Yeah I didn't go into all that only because he wants to put CM9 4.0.3 on there and those types of framework adjustments can cause some issues w/ the rom.

Nah...you can swap pngs all day long. The only issue I found in themeing CM9 is it does not like to have systemui recompiled with too much compression. But everything else is not a problem.
