Hi everyone, i am facing some HUGE battery drains when i am over a 3G network.
I am currently using a Stock ROM 2.2 (JPS i guess),but as soon i turn the 3G on,my battery does not last 10 minutes.
I started looking over a battery replacement,and i´ve found all those :
Ebay Search
I want to know if you guys can tell me which would be a better alternative for a compatible battery. Also,if you guys already experienced this battery drain and were able to fix it somehow.
Thanks in advance.

After 1 year and an half some months ago i faced the same problem, so i bought a new battery on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=110861143398&view=all&tid=834148161001) but i still had a short battery life on 3G/2G and i thught the problem was the ruined battery (it arrived in terrible conditions with cracks etc...) so i bought this extended battery: http://www.ebay.it/itm/261029030204...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1965wt_1029 . It didn't arrive yet but someone that bought it can tell me if it works better than the original one or not?

Need some help here..
I have rooted desire with latest lee's rom (thank's lee, you have my gratitude), installed with setcpu, also juice defender, and have done battery calibration (can't post a link since i'm a junior member).
Fyi, i'm a heavy user, got my gmail, twitdroyd, facebook, and instant messaging sync everytime, frequently playing with internet based games, surfing a lot, and have my based network on 2G and my brightness turn to 10%.
Is anyone here having similar problems like me and have passed the situation? sorry that my english isn't good
Thanks bfore..
I don't understand your question - problems similar to you - like what ? you didn't write what your problem is ?
/Smirge
if its about battery life, i am just as heavy user as you, i can get 8-12 hours out of my battery usually, you can get batterys for as cheap as $10 on ebay, just buy a couple and a dual charge dock (that can charge a battery that isnt in your phone) and your battery problems are gone
In u'r case, no doubt you will have very short battery life
Come on Indonesia, be realistic lah..
Dan gak usah lah pake sebut nama negara kita, malu dong gan

try a few different radios - I've seen my battery life double using some of the newer radios.
you can check them out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464
start with the most recent and work your way down the list.
Yes it's about battery life that last about 6 hours, and using the latest radio. R u folks have tried calibrating the battery? I want to know the method, cause it seems wiping the battery stats have no impact to my battery life..thanks

Hi all,
I'm on ddjp6 rooted.
Battery stand by is good.
But during using internet, fully charged battery expires in just 20 minutes or less...
The phone immediatly shuts down after showing low battery warning. (in 5 seconds)
Is this a rom problem?
Because I think on official eclair , the battery was good.
Can a custom rom solve this?
Please suggest me...
Thanks in advance...

How old is your battery ?
This may be indication of battery is about to get worse and die
During stand-by battery doesn't needs much power so it sustains standby.
A new battery should be around 500/599INR. at samsung service center.
My battery is 20 months old, but still lasts for 3-4 days easily.
I'm using Custom OC ROM.
Drain battery to "0" and charge it continuously for 3-4 hours, keeping phone switched off. Do this once a month. This fixes problem.
If u've rooted then do battery calibration...

Yeah I am planning to change my battery.I hope the new one will give better Battery life. Can u suggest me any good battery? Is there any other alternate battery or is it advisable to take at samsung service center.
okay , i have been using my desire for almost 2 years now. and i rooted it almost 2 years back so here are the specifications.:-
Htc desire (rooted)
ext4 recovery .
ROM- Mildwild V-4.3
Kernel- Thalamus r4
now heres the problem.. my battery Automatically shuts down at 30%-40%. AND I HAVE TRIED ALL SORTS OF CALIBRATION TUTORIALS.(believe me!)
i have been using various roms and various kernels . but since the last 6 months..after i used miui and also during miui. battery started this. i dont know what problem there might be . KERNEL? BATTERY? anything else
Q. is my Kernel compatible with my rom?
AND the WEIRD PART=== " IF I CHARGE MY PHONE TILL SAY 80% OR 70% THE BATTERY LASTS TILL 1% .. AND ANYTHNG MORE THAN THAT(charging..eg 100% or 90% or even 81%) IT WILL DISCHARGE BETWEEN 30% -40%.
can anyone please solve this is cant really keep on doing this with the charge thiing ..my battery problems are killing me.
have u tried this guide?

your battery is probably old/aged and it wont show you correct information
there are some apps so you can check how aged is your battery
mine does this also and no matter if i calibrate it , after some time my phone always turns off at approx 15%
only real solution will be to buy a replacement battery
there are very cheap chinesse baterries but if you dont buy original it will keep overcharging it after 100%
i have bought 2 batteries and both were doing this but the good news are that thalamus made a patch for theese third party batteries so they wont overcharge at 100%
p.s does anyone knows an easy way to insert this peace of code into a kernel or rom ?

there are plenty non oem batteries on ebay that are shipped worldwide
for example this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1600mAh...839759?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27c5c66b8f
as far as for the battery fix here it is compiled into Thalamus latest kernel for the desire View attachment kernel-2.6.35.14_r4-BATT-FIX2.zip
just flash it after the rom you have installed (this only applies to roms that are compatible with Thalamus's kernel)
Hy and sorry for my english i have a galaxy 3 from spain vodafone BAJP6 2.2 froyo and my phone work normaly except when i activate 3g or wi-fi my baterry goes down on 0% afer 5 mins to navigate and automaticaly shut down. I have tried some version of android like 2.1 eclair or 2.3.7 gingerbread and 4.1.1 but same problem...is a hardware problems or battery?
If i leave the phone without SIM and internet connection stay wake more time, only with sim and with internet battery down or after one call my phone shut down. i wait your opinion and ty!

I have the same problem
Battery works normal only if i turn on 3g/2g its fell down from 50% to 0 in seconds.
I had this problem too about two weeks ago. My battery had been going empty quite quickly for some time already but it got really bad, and the battery even bulged, so the back cover wouldn't really close anymore. Obviously my battery was about to die, so I ordered a new one on ebay for 15 euros, because I was thinking of getting a new cellphone altogether, but decided to try just getting a new battery first. It was something with polarcell, but it's a decent battery and I can use my 3g again.
So I'm thinking you should try getting a new battery altogether, they're not really expensive, but the stock one lasts about 2 years or shorter in most cases.

If you use 3G the battery back up will be less.... its for all the mobiles not only for samsung
Hi everybody...I have this phone and I have a problem. When I charge the phone up to 100% battery and then take it from the charger, battery drops to 99 or less without phone usage...And when I go to sleep and then wake up,the phone lost about 10-15 percent...Can somebody plesase help me?
Check what's keeping your phone awake during idle, "wakelock detector" and "better battery stats". Though you need root for these. You've nor given us any details of what your phone is and what ROM?? Try searching for threads on how to calibrate your phone battery.
Ohh sorry...My phone is S4 mini GT-I9195 LTE....I have stock android 4.4.2 kitkat...I have already calibrated battery and bought new battery...But same problem...
Will be an app causing your phone to wake

Not always the case... Depends when and where your phone was made. Could be a faulty kernel or motherboard but it also could be an app or a setting on your phone or an unclean install. Have you always suffered this issue?
I got phone about 3 weeks ago...and the battery was very bad so i bought new one.I also tried CM 12.1 but the phone is heating in unnormal way but the battery there is better...
You have problems with motherboard. Go to service center to replace it on waranty.
Powered by CM12.1
But my phone isnt on waranty...i got it used haha....ahh nvm,i will live with that problem.thanks for help!
Bad luck then. Normal consumption for our device is 0.2 - 0.3 % per hour in stand by.
Powered by CM12.1
How long does yours battery last with some normal usage?
Almost 3 days with moderate usage.
Powered by CM12.1
Woww thats a very big difference haha.

Your best bet seeing as unless you pay for a new motherboard is to try one of the battery drain fix kernels on here. Though I think you may be limited to certain compatible ROMs.
Why are you not staying on cm 12.1? For me it's amazing, i observed at least 100% more battery efficiency than stock (4.2.2). I also observed the same problem with high temp too. But i think we can't have it all. When i play games and the outside temperature is about 35 celsius, i do not expect anything less, because this mobile is not designed for this android version. I think that's reasonable and i finally can use my mobile with a joyful way without having my mind always on the battery stats!
Sent from my GT-I9195 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks guys! And i will try CM 12.1 for longer time to see if anything will be better!
