[ROM] Telus SGH-T989D Stock, Rooted, Lightly Tweaked, 100% [CIQ Free] - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

This ROM is one I have been running for some time now, I threw it together because I was not in need of the T-Moble junk, nor was I wanting to run a ROM that has Carrier IQ (CIQ)
Telus does not include any junk other then the default background so its a pretty clean build.
Rom Features:
- Updated all apps that were out of date except the market (I hate the new market lol)
- Deodexed
- Zipaligned
- All apk's are MX0 compression to use less ram
and open faster
- Services.jar has been modified to include CRT off
and i have removed signature checking, so theemers and users
using widgets and stuff from other devices don't get a sig-missmatch on boot
and boot loop.
- Recompiled Stock Kernel to remove CIQ bits
- BLN support patched into services.jar (Note: you need to flash a bln supported kernel)
- Will work on T-Mobile or Telus Devices
- Carrier IQ (CIQ) is not existent in this rom so it wont be using your battery
spying on you, and using your data to transmit said data its collecting.

Call Recording APP by skvalex ( If you use my custom kernel )

The app is offered on XDA for free but you can promote his work by Buying it in the MARKET
I am open for suggestions on this ROM but understand it was uploaded to be a stock rooted ROM for those who wanted it. I am also sharing this in hopes that other chefs may use it as a base so CIQ does not run ramped in the custom Roms here (I have not seen the removal on CIQ in any change logs)

Downloading now.
Thanks.

Thats an interesting one, i hate swype so i never noticed, ill fix that and re-upload by tomorrow am.
Thanks for letting me know. It probably doesn't like the fact i optimized that apk.

Thanks Mr.X, Glad to see something for the t989D finally. Will test this out and report back.

That might be it, i tried using the swype and lib from the Tmo version and it said license mismatch and will operate in limited mode. Will you be able to upload the telus original swype apk from telus?

The brightness controls are as they were on the stock rom.

Wait wait wait..i just googled CIQ
Are you saying the T-Mo rom is tracking us such as Juggernaut/beastmod, and the Telus based ones arent? Wouldnt ROM developers have removed that?
Also, since this is Deodexed, can i apply the Lightning theme?

See here: http://androidsecuritytest.com/features/logs-and-services/loggers/carrieriq/
According to my research 99% of US devices deploy Carrier IQ to some extent to collect data form your device, this can include but not limited too, keystrokes, device usage and app usage and what not, its pretty nasty stuff, and untill recently from the research from a XDA member by the name of TrevE, no one knew just how much data they were collecting and or are capable of collecting, IMO its a HUGE privacy concern, a security risk and it uses your battery and data to transmit usage stats over your 3/4G and wifi to a server on a regular basis.
The stock tmobile rom has carrier IQ in it have looked, as for the custom roms i do not know for sure but according to change logs i don't see they have removed it, the best way it so ask the chef.
Teluss roms, canadian devices to be specific do not have Carrier IQ (CIQ) in them as this technique of datamining/spying on the users is not deployed at all in canada.
Last time i checked to custom roms i have downloaded they still have the carrier iq stuff in them, its riddled in every apk and system libs, framework and the kernel. its very intrusive and a lot of work has to be done to remove it, but it cannot be removed fully, just crippled to a non working state 9not transmitting data at least).
And to answer your second question, yes you can apply a theme to this. its deodexed.

Holy crap, im switching...would the kernels have such tracking methods also or can i load bullet with this?
Edit: This is probably why id see my battery drop 0-1% overnight on stock, and like 10% on any other rom with the exact same apps installed!

With my experience with the HTC kernels they imbedded CIQ stuff in them, it was a config option to turn it on and off.
They also hide stuff in the ram disk, since i have not used the tmobile source i cannot verify this first hand, only from previous experience.

each kernel has there own ramdisk.
Any kernel based off the telus source, AND the telus ramdisk (initramfs) will be guaranteed CIQ free, i know my custom kernel is based off these and i *think* team kangs are as well, but i'd ask if you are concerned, they know there stuff and will be more then able to answer.
just found this as a reference
Chad Goodman <http://forum.androidcustomcreations.com/> said in reply to Andy @ Carrier IQ <http://www.carrieriq.com>... So....
as a kernel developer i learned a lot about CIQ recently... CIQ has ROOT access to a TTY session
CIQ has ROOT promiscuous mode access to the WIFI adapter
CIQ has ROOT access to ALL the file systems on the device
CIQ has access to realtime clock, alarm data, and the ability to remotely wake up my phone AFTER i turned it off.
...all of this at the kernel level
.......... and thats just a short list - i removed over 400 lines of code related to CIQ so far in the kernel I run on my phone ROOT access to a TTY session and to the file system can allow CIQ to access logcat logs, and these logs contain phone numbers, email addresses in clear text.. I would like Andy @ CIQ to respond to this please...

Kernel devs will want to check if CIQ_SUPPORT=y is enabled in the make config and if so, set to #CIQ_SUPPORT is not set and CONFIG_BUILD_CIQ=y to #CONFIG_BUILD_CIQ is not set

NO CIQ? How to verify?

I came across a Lookout Carrier IQ Detector which I ran on a few custom ROMS that have had the CIQ removed but the utility claims I have it even after running the CIQ removal zip via Clockwork mod. How is this possible and how can we truly verify that CIQ is removed from our roms/devices?
Thanks in advance

just wait for soviet nyan cat. he'll get it closed. It will report the bits of the shell that k0nane had to leave for your system to work. they are empty directories though. It's seeing their existence.
To be a little more helpful.
All custom ROMs have CarrierIQ removed/disabled.
There are however, inert .so (library) files that must be kept in order to have a booting ROM.
These are what CIQ detectors find.

This is just an educated guess. But an .so file is a linked library. So, there are parts of code that link to these files and call functions in them - functions that are normally part of the CIQ logging. Some function has to be there to be called, or else the calling code would likely fail. When MikeEx says there are "inert" so files in place of the normal files, that probably means a dev has stripped out the CIQ code in those function calls and left them there doing nothing, instead of recording data for CIQ. But there still needs to be an empty function there to call or other code in the OS that calls these functions would break.

Thank you for the informative replies. Makes sense that directories left behind would be needed and be detected as CIQ. Thanks again and my apologies for posting in the wrong section. It's rare for me to post unless I deem the subject critical in this case it was to me. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Voodoo Carrier IQ detect seems to be the most thorough app out there. Dont trust sprint or anyone for that matter. It costs nothing but a little time for some knowing or Peace of mind like Marcusants post it will be there all the time.
Most EI22 roms, including my own, have built around K0nane's ciq removal process. As mentioned, several files must remain with remnants that the detector may find. What you may not quite understand, is that the potentially malicious CIQ is much more integrated the already-Samsung-modified Android system.
In short, full removal of dead (trust me, it's dead) remains from the entirety of the system is much more involved than you may think and more likely to cause problems than to give you peace of mind.
And again, Q&A section please.

You have to explain why if you're going to post it!
The thing that messes up the score on the Voodoo detector is calls to Sprintandroidextensions.apk. If you remove or freeze that file you can get consistent scores of 70 but you will not be able to update PRL or profile and it will cause some problems with Visual Voicemail initializing. If K0nane says it's gone, then it's gone. The detector doesn't know how to look for apps actually sending information which they no longer do.

If you read through what it says about packages, drivers, Kernel, etc.. you can see with most of the ROMS that there is nothing in the critical areas and nothing active and the Carrier IQ removal tool posted does neuter this thing by slicing off the balls but it still leaves the penis. Goodby IQ have fun in court.
very annoying, thanks alot.

[ROM][3.2]Contingency v1.0b1[5/16/12]

Alright members of the I957 community, I know it's been a long time coming, but I'm proud to (finally) present to you a custom ROM designed specifically for our devices: Contingency! There are a couple of things I need to rattle off in this description before I can get down to business. 1. Due to some error in updater-scripts causing incredible lag with CWM flashes, this ROM is Odin-based only. If you aren't very good with Odin/need a refresher, look down below for a quick little tutorial to help get you started. 2. Due to my lack of an actual cellular data account for this device, it's difficult for me to tell you whether or not the data is working... I'm 99% it is functional in this build, but in future builds I may need a tester to discern for me.
Features & Added Apps
Da_g's OC Kernel
CWM Recovery
Rooted
Zipaligned
Deodexed
Bloat Removed
Build.prop performance tweaks
System Tuner for OC/UV
Titanium Backup
Go Launcher HD (If you're a Touchwiz hater)
As you can probably see, this is a very bland ROM right now; I just had my first successful Odin flash of it yesterday, and the testing lead all the way up to today.
Stuff To Add/Do (Taking Suggestions)
Extended Power Menu
CRT-Off
Bravia
Xloud
Edit Name in build.prop
Put data monitor back in
Theming
Due to my little experience in the world of Tablet modding, I could really use some help as to what you guys would like to see in future builds of Contingency.
Instructions For Odin Flash (It's In Red Because It's Important)
A data wipe is optional, but I recommend it.
Download the .rar of Contingency from the link below
Extract out "Contingency vX.tar" to a place you'll remember it
Open up Odin
Navigate to your Contigency.tar and load it into the PDA slot
Make sure your Tab is in download mode (Power Button + Both Volumes)
MAKE SURE RE-PARTITION IS UNCHECKED!!!!!!111!!!!!111?!?!?!!11!11!%[email protected]^#
Hit start
Go grab a snack, sit back, and watch that progress bar
Screenshots
Look at your Stock Tab... Now back to me. Unfortunately, I'm not your stock tab, but that's what Contingency looks like.

if you want wifi hotpost use quick tether from market. it activate usb and wifi tethering.
I'm gonna charge mine up for a little bit and try this rom out later. I only got 30% charge currently.
Bought mine used a couple of months ago. Still has an active SIM in it from the original purchasers account. Guess the termination fee was too steap or they needed the cash and decided to live with the $30 a month
I mainly use it on wifi but will test it out on ATT network to see. I just pop it on once in a while to see if it's still active. Just checked and it was!
If it's a nogo I can just use Odin with the original rom from ATT/Samsung? I already have it downloaded as I've use it twice to reset mine.
Waiting for ICS sucks!
Does this still have the ATT data monitor app?
Thanks!

No issues with flashing the rom. First bootup was a little scary as it stayed on the Android animation screeen for a while. Wound up doing a factory reset once up and running to clear up some issues. Seems to get more responsive after it sits for a while and after a couple of reboots. Had a couple of issues with updating the app store and maps but it seemed to work itself out after a couple of tries.
ATT data is functional for those who are interested. I don't live in a LTE area but it's getting closer by the month.
ATT data monitor app is gone. No biggy but was nice to see how much free data I have left....Hoping original owner keeps my data plan going!
Active applications widget can be added but only clicks when touched. Guess the app is no longer included....No big deal just thought I'd mention it.
Looks like there is alot of stuff to play around with as far as tweaks go. Not sure what they all do but guess I'll check them out later.
Thanks again!
I'll let you guys know if I see anything else that is worth mentioning.

Now that you mention the AT&T data monitor app from the tablet, (poster above) I was trying to get the app working on the galaxy note and I failed. I installed the apk from the tablet to the Galaxy Note via Titanium and manually... I see the app and the widget on the Note perfectly, but I am unable to link it to my phone data plan... Any ideas? I was able to get to a screen were is asking for some credentials that are out of my hands... I guess they are AT&T credentials for my account in order to set or link the monitoring app...

It would be best to save a copy of your nandroid backup somewhere safe like on your computer just in case you need it later. Not sure if Odin will nuke it or not. My tab was pretty much stock when I flashed it today as I used Odin to restore the stock rom a couple of weeks ago. If I remember correctly a folder in root is no longer there. Not 100% sure what it was called but I'm thinking it was preloaded or preinstalled. Not needed anyways as it was ATT apps/bloatware if I remember correctly.
I'm not sure about the rom failing and nandroid back thing. Maybe somebody else knows forsure.
I'm thinking if you for some reason don't like this rom you'd have to maybe use Odin to flash the stock rom back first, then install the kernel you were using and then move the nandroid back to the tab if it was deleted and then flash it back.
As soon as there is a link to download the original Stock AT&T ROM I will be installing this ROM...

I'm running S4 Google Edition on T-Mo S4

Hey whats up everyone. After doing some research, and a gusty move, I read what people had to say in the link below:
Thanks goes to the thread of the GT-I9505 thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341026
This link has the steps to install the S4 Google Edition (Full system Dump) to our T-Mo S4's.
It's a pretty small file, and as always, create a backup before you install. I wiped my themed stock rom, then flashed the GE sys dump.
I've confirmed the following:
* Camera works / Video
* LTE works
* Phone calls work
* NFC works
* SMS / MMS works
* Wi-Fi does NOT work
There's a couple of other tests that I didn't run, but I'm still getting a feel for this as I write this.
Any questions should be directed to the link above, not here. But i'm sure by grabbing that system dump, that we can work out the Wi-Fi issue, or leave it to our developers hands. Thanks everyone!

Well thanks for the contribution. I've been downloading for a while now, but my internet connection is so slow! Eh, I guess it gives me time to read. I've been through that thread twice already to see if I've missed anything. :\

Don't mention it - and be patient. It took about 5 mins on LTE to download for me in NYC. Let me know what you think or any findings you come across.

Faux Kernel didn't do anything for the WiFi; at least not the one I used. I seem to have trouble downloading one that won't throw an error or show up as an invalid zip...
I believe I'm going to give this a few days before trying the Google experience.
Can't wait to get home and look more into this...tell us how it goes! Have you seen any extra features in there cause i mean it is going through samsung
Also, what kernel you ran with it? and your link point to a forum not specific thread

Haha I did it while I was at work, too. No special kernels needed. Just as C.Sweat said, just download, backup, wipe, and flash.
My issue was that I downloaded the system dump from a different source link, thus im sure there was something corrupt or not compatible with the Wi-fi in that specific sys. dump. I'm not even going to do a logcat or any of that, especially if there's already a fully functional dump of the GE.
For those who want to install the Google Edition, please go here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxsSDB2hKUxgZDFoR0xNdldLTW8/edit?usp=sharing
Maybe someone can dive into the rom and pull the GE photosphere camera and port it into the stock TW rom, instead of having to find working patches and stuff. I doubt it'll port over (maybe the gallery will) straight out of the sys. dump, but for those who wanna try - have at it .
Also, another thing to note is that Google Wallet fully works (of course without XPosures' patching), and we're not given that "It's not available for your provider" nonsense.
This rom = So much win!

Any idea why wifi did not work at first?
After installing the full system dump from GPe to TMo hardware... are there any software differences that remain between the devices? Kernel, etc? Or are they truly 100% identical? Thanks!
Haven't tried yet, but am anxious.
Anyone check NFC, IR Blaster yet?
I was just over at the AT&T GS4 forum and they are talking about some partition difference.
If that's the case, then some GBs of space will be wasted
Is there something like that on the T Mobile version too ?

[ROM][TW][GB27] build-a-rom 6/30/13 [deodexed][4.1.2]

build-a-rom
This is not a daily driver. If you have never been on a TW JB deodexed stock ROM, then this is not for you. Flashing this ROM will boot up to the following stock, unmodified apps as packaged by Sprint: If it is not listed here then it is not included:
Phone, Contacts, Settings, Internet, Sprint Hotspot, Play Store.
Also included are ROM Toolbox Lite (jrummy), SuperSU (chainfire), and erikalin-stock app. This ROM flashes Agat63’s v1.3.0 kernel, and it has the boot animation from the S3, sound removed.
The pure Stock GB27 TW ROM zip is 507MB. Build-a-ROM is 242MB.
Why try out build-a-rom?
We have always been able to flash the nice custom ROMs on here, flash the mods we like which other people have figured out and packaged into flashable zip files for us, and just enjoy the phone. And you should keep doing that, and click the thanks button all over the place while you do it. Build-a-ROM is for you to give some of this a shot for yourself. There are exactly two stock apk files left in here that you can delete and still boot to a phone, and that is the browser and the play store.
What can I do with build-a-rom?
The work for build-a-rom comes in two categories:
(1) Easy: Installing custom mods and apps that are already available for you. This involves either flashing a prepackaged zip file, or pushing an app into the system/app/ folder, setting permissions to 0644 (RW-R--R--) and rebooting. You can go get whatever mods and apps and tweaks and kernels that you want. I’m not naming any of them because I didn’t include any of them. You know what they are. Go nuts. Make sure they are made for deodexed GB27 TW ROM for our device. There’s nothing in the way here. It’s a blank slate. If you don’t know how to do these things, use the site search. There are a zillion guides of people telling how to push an app into the system partition, set permissions, and reboot. And flashable zips are flashed in recovery. The recovery in build-a-rom is fine for flashing mods. Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, flash one mod per session to be safe, reboot.
(2) Do the first part first. This is a little more advanced but still not difficult. Learn how to decompile and recompile apk files. There are easy-to-use & free programs that allow you to do so. I just typed: "how to decompile apk files” (without quotes) into xda search and got 92,400 results. The benefit of learning these basic tools is that you can then follow the guides on xda. You know all of those things we’re used to having automatically in a custom ROM? ... tabbed settings, extended power menu, transparent things, hacked things, colored things, pretty toggles… etc etc... you can make them, and a lot more, by hand on your own. There are guides. You don't have to beg someone else to make the mod you want for you. You don’t even have to figure it out. You literally copy-and-paste from the guides in which other people have figured out & explained exactly what to modify. No, it’s not “development” but it’s something to feel like an accomplishment you can be proud of.
Want transparent stock toggles? Want to rearrange them? Want to put your toggles down on the bottom of your pull-down and use the top space for notifications? Search XDA for the guides. These are quick mods... You'll be amazed at what you can do. You can build this up to 100% your dream ROM – starting from a blank slate so you can feel good about the end result.
Thanks @kobridge – for pure stock GB27 deodexed ROM as base: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38923705#post38923705
@tdunham – for the guide on how to make the extended power menu. Check it out. This is a model for what I’m talking about with how clear and straightforward a guide can be: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125196. This is the one modification I think I left in here for the version of build-a-rom that I am sharing.
@g_ding84 – for suggestions and being nice
@bigmike6200 – for testing earlier version of build-a-rom
@agat63 – for kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244781
@bilgerryan – for modeling how to click the thanks button appropriately
crawrj - for hacked native hotspot, used with permission (if this is included - I need someone to verify that this ended up in this build or not)
Why say thanks?
Can you even guess at how many people have downloaded and used noobnl’s EL29 direct boot to CWM zip?? It's probably well over 10,000. There are 40 thanks on that post. Ridiculous. And tdunham’s JB Format All X 2 zip?? At the time of my typing this, there are 7454 downloads of that script, and 125 thanks. Also ridiculous. So many people give so many hours of their time making things for us to enjoy. Click the buttons, folks, please.
Install instructions
- Flash at your own risk. I am not responsible for your choices. Etc.
- Make a backup.
- Before you do anything further please read my disclaimer below.
- Directboot into EL29 CWM recovery. Thank noobnl: here.
- Flash tdunham’s JB.Format_All_X2.zip. Thank tdunham here
- Flash BAR-V1.0.zip.
- Reboot
Disclaimer: The mods and apps and guides and tutorials on XDA are everywhere. Use the site search. I cannot possibly answer your questions on implementing any of those changes. Some of those guides have hundreds of posts of Q&A for just one certain modification. Read them. I assure you that whatever question or problem you have, it's addressed already on xda. Search and read. I’m giving you a stable blank slate called build-a-rom. It comes with nine apps and it works. You take it from here. I want to be clear upfront what I can and cannot support. I can support this ROM, which is build-a-rom and its nine apps. So, for example, if you have a question about how to make a phone call, ask. The building part is really up to you. Browse XDA. The amount of information is astounding... If you’re not sure what you’re doing, then don’t use build-a-rom. If I knew all the answers to all of your questions, I’d answer them. I don’t.

First. Looks fun. I continued my modeling lol.
Just gonna say, this will make a great base for anyone wanting to (dare I say) build a ROM to release (always ask permission first). And with it only being 242 MB it leaves a little room to play.
@erikalin might wanna add a note in there that EL29 can't flash modems and to flash the JB modem after boot if not already on one.

Hi, bigmike6200,
What is it about transparent apps that attracts? All of team blackout stuff works on JD's ROM, so I'd imagine they'd work on this gem. Their paid app is worth the two bucks.
Beyon a few nuggets from the GS2 international version, I've tried to find what I can, and most seems attached to Omega and similar ROMS. Once taken out, they don't work in isolation. Even the older items created by current team blackout members are gone. I managed to get Speed Test and a few others, but now the links are dead. Would love stock SMS, calculator, etc.
Time for me to learn this process.
Congrats, Erika, and thanks for this and all you've done.

I'm not bigmike, but I have to say that I love transparent everything. I made almost 40 build-a-rom projects for myself, starting from essentially the version 1.0 I have shared here each time, and trying different things out. In some of them I made everything transparent, although I did learn that semi transparent is often what is necessary. Making the backs of the stock toggles themselves transparent too was fun. There's something pleasing about the transparency and, for me, neon green #ff00ff00. I colored all the stock system app icons with my neon green too, etc. :good: Anyway, micmars, you will learn and invert the stock system apps to share. Cheers, bud!
Thanks!

You, also, Erika! Thanks for the encouragement. I think I found a lot of slimeball themed apps in one of the members of TBO's threads. Have to agree on the semi transparent observation. The Speed Test app to which I referred looks way better in the semi transparent variant.

Sorry, bud, but I'm not sure whether you meant to ask a question or just make this statement? If you meant to ask a question, feel free to reply back. To take a guess at it: build-a-rom comes with nine apps, and gallery isn't one of them. You'd need that. Or if this is a metro pcs thing, I don't know anything about Metro PCS. Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912451

If somebody can check this out for me. because I already wiped and packed up my E4GT:
Is the Sprint hotspot app in here crawrj's hacked hotspot or Sprint stock? I *had asked and received* permission to include crawrj's hacked hotspot but I had decided that I didn't want to include it in this base after all. But... did I forget to take it back out before uploaded? Lol... If someone can let me know that'd be great. I'll modify the OP pending a confirmation on this... Thanks X 3.

You might want to just go with another rom. That's not meant to sound unwelcoming, lol, not at all. But it's intentional that this ROM is empty. It's for folks who want to build it from a blank slate. Like I said I don't know how metropcs works so I have no idea what works for you. But stuff isn't in here for a reason. That's why I put in the OP that if you're new to JB TW this probably isn't the rom for you... This isn't a slim rom. It's an incomplete rom. You know?

KNOWN ISSUES
PESTS
Upon first boot, you may see SystemUI Force Close. Just tap OK and ignore. This will only happen once and has no adverse effects.
NFC Polling is not working
Battery Notifications is not working. If enabled, once fully charged it will cause the launcher to keep crashing until you unplug.
Sometimes, if accessed from Settings > Extras > Battery Style, 3minit Battery Settings will Force Close. I have noticed no adverse effects from this, but you can access this from the App and it will not happen.

Yeah, I figured as much.. I have been to several T-Mobile stores while I was on vacation..
Every single one of the store managers claimed that T-Mobile is no longer interested in updating the T999 or the T999L only to focus on the S4 and S5... Not sure of the validity of their claims, but I'm hearing it a lot.. This port that You, enewman17, and loserskater appear to be our only hope at this point... I appreciate the work you continue on this device.. When I have the time I'll give it a flash.. Right now I'm on Carbon and quite happy, but miss the Wifi Calling.. I really should revert back to S3rx 3.0.. so many things I miss that ROM brought to us..
At this point, i cant argue that they are wrong about the update, but support and store employees are notorious for giving bad information. I do like the option of wifi calling, but can easily do without. Its just not like T-Mobile to do something like that. Especially lately with how they dont want to be outdone by other carriers in any regard.
Anyway, thats probably enough OT for now. If you need wifi calling in the future, S3Rx 3.0 would be an excellent choice!
Thanks for porting this Doc! thanks for not letting our phone die when it still has so much potential. Any plans for themes down the road? S5 UI would be great
Im not making plans right now. Too much going on. But keep watching S3Rx 4.0 and TMS3KK, both here and in AT&Ts forums. They are closely related and some things may end up working for both. The majority of the actual development is going on over at the AT&T threads though, so most things will get posted/released there first.
Ill post and keep things updated here of course, but actual development takes time at a computer that i just dont have lately. (Most of what i do is from a device while on the go). But who knows what lies a month down the road! Id love to get more involved with this stuff again!
Those if you who played around with my Sprint port may remember this btw, if you go to build.prop and change d2tmo to k2tmo, itll change some parts such as the toggles to S5 style.
Make sure you have signed into Google, and accessed the Play Store first though. If you make that change before, they may not work.

There are definitely plans for themes. I will be working on some in the near future. As for an s5 one, I believe someone has plans of working on one or will eventually.
Great work porting this doc. Look forward to helping you support this thread as well.

I know what you mean... When I travel long distances, I reflash the S3Rx 3.0 Rom..
But I never left home while I was on vacation, and Reno has pretty decent reception, EXCEPT, in the outskirts..
Like Carson City, and Virginia City where I got absolutely zippo, but no Wifi there either.. Driving in the desert and Zippo signal..
I seriously doubt anyone would build a cell tower in the middle of no where ya know
I just installed this ROM and whenever I boot up it tells me that my system uid is inconsistent. Any ideas?

First ive ever seen that! Im guessing you did a dirty flash an the most likely and probably best solution would be a factory reset.
However, a quick google search found this. Give it a try if you like.

Out of curiosity, what were you running before this and what recovery did you flash with?
U was running the kitkat sprint port. And I used philz because I couldn't get twrp to work. Kept failing.
