Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I've got my mobile for just a little more then one week now. Today I updated my mobile (it's not rooted or anything). I updated to (I'm Dutch so I don't know the English words) :
Android version: 2.3.4
'Smalbandversie': 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-56
'Kernel-versie': 2.6.32.9-perf / [email protected] #1
Build-number: 4.0.2.A.0.42
There where no complications while updating. But after updating I experienced problems with the auto-brightness from the SE Xperia Arc. It's not working anymore. I did enjoy this feature. I searched for apps in the market and found some (like widgetsoid) but those were not working. My screen is not automatically brighter or less brighter when there is a lot of light or no light. What happened to this feature and can I get it back?
Thanks a Lot!
It work but slowly and your eyes cant register that changhe.

But my eyes did register the change before this update. Has that been changed then?

I've upgraded to 2.3.4 using flashtool, I've had big battery drain problems and would like to downgrade back. Can somebody either help with the battery drain or help me get the R800i firmware please. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. My Arc S connects to my router and everything works for some time. Suddenly, while surfing or facebooking, the information isn't loading any more even when the phone says its still connected. WiFi-Icon in statusbar is still active. Only way to reconnect is to turn WiFi off and on again.
I tried the WiFi-fix application for ICS which was mentioned in some threads on xda but it didn't help.
Stock ICS 4.0.4 firmware, baseband 72, stock kernel from ICS 4.0.4

Only for about a half hour, then the problem happens again.
Edit: Not a half hour, every 10 minutes or less.
Then it looks like some app or service is interfering with wifi.. Do you have any network related apps installed? (lik vpn or tethering apps or something lik that)

Are you using the 4.0.4 FR version? If so, try flashing another version of ICS like the Mobitel Slovenia version.
The wifi reportedly works better in this version.
Swyped from my SE Xperia arc (LT15i) using Tapatalk 2
No I'm using the Slovenian version.
I had the problem with official 4.0.3, leaked 4.0.4 and now official Slovenian 4.0.4.

The wifi problem in ICS is reported by many!
Please wait with patience for Sony to solve the problem or till someone comes up with a fix!

I have this exact same mentioned problem on my galax s3 and 4.0.4.
Really would like a fix soon, glad its a common problem should get some more attention.
I'm on a belkin router and connect to the apple time capsule.
What I have found is the main network in my household is Home which is hidden, and has added security and this problem occurs. And then we have a second network that isn't hidden for guests and visitors, when I connect to it I havn't experienced the problem. So are the others with the problem connecting to a hidden network? Maybe ICS looses the hidden networks or something.
I had the same problem on my Neo V! I solved it by switching my WI-Fi router to b\g mode! and since that I don`t have any problems)))
P.s. Sorry for my bad english((
Hello
My brother has this phone and his phone has a slight input delay. It's not that noticeable in UI unless you hold it up against my phone, but it's very noticeable in games (specifically Subway Surfers).
Not lag, input delay. Swipes and touches doesn't register immediately in Subway Surfers it's enough to make you hit that train when trying to get that coin.
Is there anyway to fix this, and more importantly is there anyway to fix this without root?
His Software Info:
Code:
Android: 4.0.3

Yea No. That wouldn't make a difference in input delay. If it was lag then yes. (And I tried it anyway, but it makes no difference)

Hes using stock keyboard. I'll try with a more basic keyboard tomorrow.
Also just why would a keyboard affect all touchscreen input?
I'll look at the logcat tomorow too see if theres anything there.
It's a low end phone...so yea the screen can be unresponsive at times. I've noticed it on all roms.

My brother would be disappointed. Is there any ROMs or ways that improve the responsiveness?
My phone (LG P970) is considerably older and is extremely similarly specced (just about the graphics chipset that's a slight downgrade to the PowerVR SGX530) and even on stock ROMs the input is instantaneous.
Is the touchscreen in my brothers HTC just that cheap, also I find it hard to believe that a company like HTC would sell phones with touchscreens of low quality. Although never having had a HTC phone I suppose it's possible,
Umm 50$ on sale. CHEAP

Mostly mine is like sex.....but sometimes it takes several touches for the screen to react. Not sure bad digitizer or whatever. Doesn't happen often but daily no doubt. Still love this phone for the price.

When you enable "Pointer Location" and "Show Touches" from the debug menu the cursor stays where the touch is. When you play Subway Surfers you can clearly see it's not Input Delay, but rather delay before the Touch Event gets dispatched. Is there any way to improve the speed that it processes touches?
hi, my phone is lockedbootloader and no matter what rom im using, i experienced laggy, for example while listen to music and browsing internet (have tried stock browser n chrome) the music start to have laggy (not playing properly, very slow) and screen isnt responsive...
anyone experienced the same?

It's a ICS issue.
If you wait for the official JB release from Sony, you'll see all the lags will be gone

so its ics? i hope so because last sony device i have is hardware problem... i ll wait for jb then...

It shouldn't be a hardware problem. I had too many issues with ics too, so i think it's ics.

If i may suggest, if you dont want to wait for official JB flash the XZXperience rom ist pretty stable and really fast. Then just flash official jb when its out

well ,, i was suffering from this issue and also screen issues like turning black then back alive then back again then alive ,, and also heating issues
but all this things disappeared after rooting my phone ,, my phone is locked bootloader and i am using stock kernel and stok ICS
my advice use once click rooting ,, u can find it here in xda and the programe called Eroot
This problem has been present since I got this phone. I have searched the interwebz for any mention of this problem and evidently my phone is the only one suffering this problem. It wouldn't be as much of an issue if auto brightness actually worked - it's more like random brightness. Does anyone have a suggestion?
More information....
What device ?
What firmware ?
Are you rooted ?
We need details to determine if you have software or hardware issues....g
