No LED app Alternative?

Apologize if this already exists.
would it be possible for one of the talented developers in our forum to add an option to have the four buttons (menu, home, back, search) blink to notify of a new message, email, missed call, etc? or maybe be able to choose a button for a particular event, like menu button flashes for new emails, home button flashes for missed calls, etc.

Noled is what I am using on mine and it is working great! Just be sure to activate it in accessibility in settings

thanks for the replies. yeah, i am using noled as well and it works well. i was just thinking being able to have the backlight of the buttons flash as a notification instead of the screen would use less battery. does noled have that option and i am missing it?

never used/heard of bin before. what is it? is it in the market? i looked and couldn't find it.

BLN as asatnik11 said u need kernel suport for it, like cm7 or a custom kernel

BLN (back light notification) is an app that allows the 4 capacitive buttons on our phone or any other Android device to blink as a notification whenever you receive a message, missed call, voicemail etc. You can download the app from the Android market but for now it will be useless to us because we do not have a kernel to support this feature. You must first be rooted and then flash a custom kernel that has BLN enabled in order to use the app/function. I believe that a custom kernel is in the works since all Galaxy S phones had custom kernels to support this feature. Even the Nexus S (which isn't Galaxy S) supported this feature once a custom kernel was installed. For now I recommend downloading and using NO LED (can be found in the MARKET) in the meanwhile.

I keep my haptic feedback set very low. Missed message flasher seems to vibrate at the same intensity as haptic feedback so it's nearly useless. Does this happen to yours or am I doing something wrong?

Uninstall app, then reinstall! then when done go to widgets and put the noled widget on screen, then delete widget. also u can go into menu and turn it on in settings and it also has a test feature also. Plus the dev is very helpful, if u have problem look him up on xda.

EK02 Bug Thread

Well no one has made one yet, so I'll do the honors.
I have seen a decrease is signal strength, but I have noticed better data speeds. I never had the LoS issue before, so I can't tell if this fixed it or not.
Source for EK02 still hasn't been released yet...
Also just a heads up Sprint updated Swype to the latest version in this update as well.

Sound bug is still there. I can't comment on LOS until I am running the new radio (currently on EG31).

What is the "Sound Bug?" And I also noticed that Samsung added arrows to the lockscreen.

Bug where some games and most emulators will randomly crash, usually within minutes.

This only seems to be an issue with the ET4g. Besides that I haven't noticed any other issues.

I was wondering the same thing until someone posted a link yesterday. Is it isolated to games because I thought the sound bug was how loud it got from 1 step below max to full volume. Lol

I tested with two headsets.
My Samsung earbuds (came with Moment) don't have any control.
My Klipsch (S2m) earbuds have two controls. Short press opens contacts, while long press opens Voice Talk.
I haven't tested it to answer or end calls.

Try downloading the Headset Button app on the market.

Theres a new blue scroll...or maybe hat was there and i didnt notice...

No. I tried with the Samsung (stock) music app and the Google Music app. No luck. Screen is turned on if off, but nothing is changed.
ATM, the headphone button doesn't have any control over music.

Does anyone else have a problem when opening the app drawer, zooming out, then selecting a page only to bring you back to the home screen?

Yeah that's new. They removed the checkboarding from the browser and the "bounce." Thank the Apple likeness lawsuits ... Same stuff that was in the euro sgs2 updates.

I have this bug also. My lockscreen seems to have disappeared as well, but only on a critically low battery. Not sure if that is behavior or not since I have only had the phone for a day.

For your lockscreen go to Location & Security and set your lock period to immediately

Works perfect with my Motorola S9, all the buttons work, but then again it's got dedicated buttons for music controls.

Im having wifi problems...it doesnt stay on nor can it find a wifi network when i know there is one..

I don't have an option to set the lock period. I'm on the stock ROM and unrooted.
The EK02 update has seemed to fix the touchscreen acting crazy while charging, but I'm not entirely sure about it.

this is NOT a bug, but do not want to start a new thread.

Home button mapping

Is anyone else going crazy with the home button opening voice command constantly when it wasn't your intent? Is there a way to change this mapping in stock? The phone is also rooted if it matters.

Almost all dev roms now have removed that feature. Check the development section.

Freezing was a good idea. That resolved for me, I hadn't thought of doing that until you mentioned it. Thanks

+1. Is it even worth stepping back from jedi 6.1.2? The only thing I can think of is the better battery life of the stock rom over the custom ones if all we are getting is the multi windows software from this.

I've noticed that there are new ink colors for the pen on the lock screen. Also, it feels like haptic feedback is a bit weaker.
Anyone know if we can customize the toggles in the notification window?

Try under display. I see it on clean ROM, and someone said theyd noticed they were rearranged I bet they included that as well.

For some reason the multi view is not working any more.
I got the little tab. . But when I click program like google mail and Chrome the open in full screen. It worked for a few hours but then it stopped. ..

Multi Window works here. Completely stock. Had to manually update it and flash in recovery tho

Patching it using ExynosAbuse breaks the camera now, though.

Back Button does not activate multi-window
I am on stock ROM no rooting done at all.
After the update, tried to hold down the back button but will not activate the multi window.
I can only activate it on the notification bar.
Please advise and thank you.

I would make sure under settings that its enabled and if it is then try a reboot and renable the feature as I have two notes one which is stock and works just fine

This already is in are phones it works that way for me. I just check alls you have to do is click the button on the Spen when over what you app you want to open. Yeah it works I just checked again

I think something was going on with mine because now its not doing it. I swear though that every now and than I do it and it does I might be just barley taping the screen sorry for wrong info.

I haven't had the issue. I just touch the link with Spen and it registers as mouse click. My tip isn't sticking.
Some sites are a bit finicky about where you click when using a mobile browser in desltop, IE, Firefox, etc mode (non mobile or android). And if the link is in some flash player media, that can be hit or miss.
I would suggest trying another site like MSN or something to test the Spen. This should tell you if it's the Spen or just that site.
