Now, I don;t know if this is a Kernal or a rom based issue, but, XLoud was GREAT on my play, and since a recent update, it doesn't work
When u have music playing, checking the XLoud button makes the sound get louder for a second, but then goes back to normal volume again
If anyone has any advice or a fixs for this, it would be great
I've asked this question like 4 times on here and no one has any idea what i'm talking about, I've also tried to replace files from old version to new version and it's the same, really low
See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321030
You'll get used to the volume reduction though after some time
I'm on the latest .42 Firmware (TW version) with DooMKerneL v08, and XLoud works brilliantly. Make sure you reboot after activating XLoud though, makes a HUGE difference (mine is quiet too when activating without rebooting afterward)
Sony reduced the volume of xloud. Move on

I'm on the lastest UK firmware, with DooMKernaL v8 also, and rebooting makes no difference, I have even found that having XLoud UNchecked it is louder, dunno if there may be a bit of an error somewhere along the line that has reversed the check switch =/ lol.
Like i said in first post, it is REALLY weird, when it was first added u could have music playing, press the check box to ON and u could hear it get louder instantly, and A LOT louder. Now, it goes louder for a second then goes quiet, uncheck it and it actually gets louder.
I'll try to post a video later, but I dunno how well it will come out.

Sounds to me like your firmware might not have been updated correctly?
Where is the option to enable or use Xloud? I see no checkbox or reference in any of the logical places (sound settings). It's like you guys are talking about something that doesn't exist on my phone.

Some of you may have this problem, some of you may not, but me and my cousin have this problem with our G2 where the sound from the other line is very quiet for us when we use the phone... as a phone. So what I want to know is, is there any way to increase the sound on for this? Do we have defected phones?
I have this problem as well. In call volume is maxed out but it doesn't sound very loud at all.
I have root access with CM 6.1.0 RC3.
My calls are loud and clear. Its the speaker phone thats low for me.
Does it happen with all calls incoming and out going?
Also are you on wifi?
How is your signal strength?
Same with me my speak phone volume is lower than I would like it, but head set speaker loud and clear

Yes, it's all of the calls that I make and receive. I'm never on wifi and my signal strength during the calls are all good. It may be just me also, but the G2 mic may be quiet also because when I call my cousin he sounds like he's whispering to me but when I call someone else their sound is just quiet, but enough to hear it with a small bit of background noise. I haven't asked him how the sound was when I called him since it's something I just noticed.
Mine's a little soft as well. It kinda sucks that one of the few flaws with this phone is it's use as a phone, lol.

You sure the phone volume is up? Also have you called Tmobile about this?
I have had mine for a little over a month and it is loud and clear, I have no issues hearing anyone, and no one has issues hearing me... really good sound quality imo. I am on stock rom still. Speakerphone is very weak for me as well.
Yeah, in call phone volume is incredibly weak for me. Going to try to boot into stock and see what happens. Is there an app to make the volume louder? Or some way we can change it?
EDIT: Okay. Turns out that I am an idiot. Phone is still new for me so I left the default protective screen on. As soon as I took that off, phone calls were a lot more clear. Just ordered a proper screen protector so I just have to be careful until then haha. Don't know if this will help out anyone but hey, figured I let you guys know.
You know, the real problem with the G2 is HTC quality control on those. I'm on my second G2...the call volume is way lower than my first one...
also the keyboard is a LOT better on the second one, I didn't care at all about the keyboard on my first G2, as the keys were very recessed and didn't have a real "feedback", so I never used it. Made me think the whole keyboard thing about the phone was useless, now I'm in love with it.
My problem is the hinge on the second G2 is much looser than the first one.
If you bought yours recently, just exchange it.

I'm positive the phone volume up. I haven't called T-Mobile yet because I haven't had time.
Ditto on the in call volume, would like to boost.
Anyone try this app Louder Volume Hack v4.1?
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.AutoMod
I came from an HTC Aria and had the same in call sound trouble, then I tried Louder Volume Hack v3.6 but no luck, did not work.
Instead after some other searching I found a XDA forum that suggested turning on the TTY for the Hearing Impaired option in the Aria and waa-laa ---it worked. Apparently though, this TTY / Hearing Imparied option does not exist in the SOUND settings for the Z.
So, still looking for idea on the in call volume boost.

Theres an app called DSP Manager on CM 6.1.1 that i used to up the voume a whole lot. It comes already installed when you install that rom.
My speaker works great except during a call. I can't hear a thing from it when on a call however. It must be a software issue, then. I started a thread a bit back, but with no luck. I hope we can find a fix.
my in ear sound isnt that loud either.
Ok...regarding the app called DSP Manager on CM 6.1.1, I checked into this, but is appears it only helps on the "media" volume but NOT the phone speaker or in call volume for when the phone is to my ear during a call.
Can you advise, is DSP Manager helping for this in call volume?
Ok...
I found 3 different versions of DSP manager and frankly am afraid to install w/o having a little more dialog with some of you that may be wiser than me.
The three files are attached and as listed are:
DSPManager120210_ALL.zip
DSPManager_080910.apk
DSPManager_100810.zip
The DSPManager120210_ALL.zip file came from this link and appears to the the latest
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_DSPManager
The APK file came from this XDA link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750765
Anyway, after looking at the DSPManager_100810.zip file in unzipped mode, the file structure is different than the other zip file, which makes me a little nervous to flash uisng ROM Manager of Clockworkmod.
Meanwhile, I may install the APK file because I can easily uninstall if there is no improvement in the IN CALL VOLUME.
Any insights are welcomed.
Well I dove in and thank goodness for NAND backups...
Here is the deal (as of 12/31/10 4:05 PM EST):
- DSPManager120210_ALL.zip DID NOT FLASH
- DSPManager_080910.apk INSTALLED BUT NO CHANGE ON MY DESIRE Z A7275
- DSPManager_100810.zip FLASHED BUT NO EAR PEICE SOUND NOR SPEAKER SOUND
Now as of 12/31/10 4:11 PM EST in an restoring from my 12/31/10 10:00 AM EST NAND backup.
Gosh I hate doing this trial and error stuff, talk about a heart attack.
Will update after I complete my full restore and hope all is back in fully operational order.
==========================================================================
UPDATE....FULLY RESTORED 4:21 PM EST...PHEW!!
Thank you Koushik Dutta for clockworkmod!!!

I'm soo sorry bro, I luld Happy new year!
Has anyone else experienced issues with system sounds not playing? My Nexus does not play any touch sounds or keyboard sounds, when both of those options are definitely checked. I've rebooted, factory restored, tried a new ROM, and I get no sounds.
I do have the famed "clicking" sound (of the speaker engaging and disengaging) as though it's attempting to play, if I listen closely.
Using the Verizon Galaxy Nexus with both stock 4.0.2 and an AOSP build of 4.0.3.
EDIT: Using Volume Control + to edit the System Volume from 2 to 7 fixed the problem.
Go to settings settings > sound > volume. Make sure your music, video, games, and other media slider isn't muted.
Same problem here. I thought that maybe it was a 4.0.1 issue... wonder if it is hw related?

Have you tried connecting headphones to see if you hear anything? Maybe something got the sensor in the jack stuck?

Thanks for all the quick replies! I just had a brainstorm after posting and figured out what the problem is. I don't have an answer for HOW it happened, but there seems to be a System Volume that is NOT user-modifiable. I just downloaded Volume Control +, and changed the System Volume from 2 to 6. I can definitely hear it now!
Strange! Well at least you got it working!

Do you mean past volume level 7? Probably not. You could always pull the sound effects from /system/media/ui and amplify them in an audio program such as Audacity, then push them back.

Thank you, I though about it too, but then I decided against it because I may feel I want to go back to a lower volume and it would be a pain in the neck to move files back and forth.
The only way I could get them a little louder is by using DSP or similar.

True, it would. Then again, to lower the volume, you could then just modify the system volume lower rather than moving the old files back.
thanks
Thanks this thread helped me get keyboard sound after flashing custom rom, there was no setting adjust system volume in setting.
3rd party apps like volume plus did the trick.
:good:
Same problem here on my xperia play ! o.o
Don't know how happened, not flashing roms or appling any new tweak from 2 months or more..
Just the sound disappered.. =S
Solved with volume control + !
The sound on my desire used to be a little on the low side. I sometimes missed calls out in public because I didn't hear the ringtone. I now installed the RunnyMede AIO rom and the sound is even lower than before. Are there any custom ways to boost sound? Also the beatsaudio included in that rom is very annoying and doesn't seem to help at all. Is there any way to remove it from popping up in the notification bar every time I'm playing music without re-installing the whole rom? Thanks
Everithing u need is in rc tweaks
Make sure u flash the rctweaks zip fix
Then go in the rc setting , uncheck beats audio and enable xloud
Both problems solved =D

Thank you that worked for the low sound. However the beats audio is still there even though its disabled. It stays there in the notification bar greyed out every time I play music.

That means its not being used. If you don't want beats audio at all, or don't want the icon to appear, try removing or freezing (if you want beats but don't want icon. You can unfreeze if needed) the BeatsNotifier.apk (I think its called that) and reboot the phone and see if its still there.

Well i have had this issue forever but i would like to know how to fix it or something.
i notice that after i make a phonecall the sound does not correctly port back to the loud speaker of becomes very quiet a.k.a. XLoud is disabled.
and the only thing that can sometimes bring it back is by plugging in headphones and removing them then press volume up about 2 times or rebooting. this is one way around this but i would like to know the real reason why it occurs and how to fix it. maybe if there was some kind of script or quick app/gadget to quickly re-enable the XLoud again.
Hello, use ViPER4Android app instead of Xloud, i think this can solve your problem.

naa i have a personal dislike of DSP managers.
Many users already got the update to lollipop.
This thread is meant to collect bugs, which were introduced with lollipop.
Many people didn't get the update yet, it would be helpful for them to know if the rom runs well or the update should be skipped.
So if you encountered any problems please report here.
Thank you!

I personally don't like because they removed xLOUD . Now volume is too low.

Also found that, but when I turn on "ClearAudio+" (Settings > Sound & notification > Audio settings) the speaker gets louder.
I hope I've helped.

I have some, Microphone is too low, other party cant hear a thing. even I disabled noise canceling mic but still problem exists.
2 - when someone calls, the notification light goes crazy and turns on and off very fast. and sometimes ringtone doesn even play.
3- earpiece volume is too low too
Thus far all I am aware of was the WiFi bug. I had to re-flash lollipop three times to get my WiFi to work ( updated through PC companion)
The only bug I found is that when you turn on Ultra STAMINA Mode and you turn it back off, all the apps you've previously disabled get enabled, so you have to disable them again. Otherwise, I'm having killer perfomance and battery life (4hs of SOT, with KK I had less than 3 and with every Lollipop AOSP-based ROM I got a bit more than 3) so I'll just ignore the Ultra STAMINA Mode and it's all good.
I found that volume levels are loud enough for me, perhaps it's because I have not been using stock for a while.
Every time I make a phone call, the in-call volume is set to 50%.
I increase it and the moment the screen turns off as I put the phone next to my ear, it'll stay at 100 for a while and again fall back to 50!
In case of whatsapp calls, I can change it to 100 but it will fall to 50 every time, won't stay there even for a second.
Started facing this problem when I updated to Lollipop, no such issues on KitKat.
I'm using the US FTF on an Indian phone.
Please help as I like the Lollipop update, it has increased the battery life a lot.

No skip/fast-forward in videos
If I try to skip to 2:30 for example in a video (with Chrome), the video just gets stuck and doesn't play anymore. But if I let it play from start without skipping, everything is just fine.
I googled this and it can be possible that you have to disable NuPlayer in the developers options, but that doesn't seem to work for me?
I hope someone can help or knows a workaround to make skipping work!
