I just got this from bestbuy waiting to get a full charge in it before i actually test it. But it does make the phone alot thicker but it might be something i will have to get used to, another thing is my outer box case doesn't fit over it (i kinda figured that before I opened the packaging ) But i will let you know how good it really is.
Well i kinda forgot about this topic. So now im gonna finish typing it.
I have had this for about a month or two and it has been great. it can last me anywhere from a full day nonstop usage to 2-3 days light to moderate usage. It has been great and does what is says so im a happy camper.
It's a good battery. I have one and it lasts me about 3 days before I need to recharge. They are Seidio rebranded batteries, and I also like how they're Lithium Polymer instead of the cheap Li-Ion ones on ebay.
They are great. I am going on 40 hours without a charge and I still have about 40% left. This is with moderate/heavy use.
They are awesome I got mine off ebay for 20 bucks and would definitely do it again!

The 3500mah or 1750mah battery?

Its got to be the 3500 I think, since he said it makes the phone thicker that's what I assumed.

Thats all I could find also, if there is a 3500 version id much rather have that over a 3000 obviously, but I can't seem to find one.
Just got a 1750 for $14.95 SHIPPED!

They also have the 3500 for $40, but you will need a cover.
Are there any reputable cases being made for the evo when using this thicker battery and battery cover? I currently have

ok no flaming just a simple question, ive read that you shouldnt run the battery dead till it shuts off the phone... anybody know what is better to do?.. my battery didnt come with instructions, but from what ive read is charge phone and run till dead, recharge and repeat 6 times, someone please confirm
From personal experience (and LOTS of work with laptops), both Lithium Ion and Lithium Poly like the "goldilocks" zone. Draining them to ZERO will instantly kill a LI battery. But ALL LI and LY batteries AND devices have special circuitry to prevent this, but repeatedly draining them to what your device classifies as zero will shorten its life dramatically.
My brother does this and he needs a new battery every six months.
However, leaving it plugged in can be just as bad. When a LI is fully charged it actually generates pressure in the battery. Again, there is circuitry to help prevent this, but constant over charging (or close to) can cause the cell to "pop".
In general, when you first get a LI or LP battery, should should charge it for about 12 hours UNINTERRUPTED the first time (think of it like stretching before a workout). Other than that, charge it when it's low, and take it off when it is done.
Leaving it plugged in from time to time so that it is ready isn't too bad, just don't leave it on all the time, or you again, COULD pop the cell.
Most manufactures recommend a complete drain and 12 hour re-charge every 6 months (again, just like stretching out).
Happy surfing!

there is definitely a big difference and makes the phone weigh more but you forget it is there after a while (like with i first got the evo i thought it was HUGE and would be a struggle to carry it around).
So, my OG Droid was acting up and my upgrade wasn't due until late july so I decided to purchase a Droid X.
While, I don't have the phone yet, and it is used I was debating whether or not a second battery is necessary as I will have a car charger from my original droid. But, at the same time I have had a second battery with most of my phones for years. But, then again I will most likely be replacing this phone by Sept/Oct the absolute latest.
You might be able to get by on just one battery. It seems the DroidX has one of the best battery lives for Android phones. If you do buy another battery, I would suggest the extended battery. It adds only 1mm to the back of the phone and it gave me around 4-5 hours more battery life than the standard battery. Then you can always have the standard battery on backup if you need some extra juice at the end of the day.
thanks for the tip
On Rubix Focused I can get 24 hours of battery life with heavy use! I have been thinking of getting an extended battery though. It would just be convenient
I have an extended battery and carry the standard battery that came with the DX in my car just in case i ever need to swap..no biggie, convenient.
Hey, I used the BH6X from Motorola and gave me superb life. I got more that 20 hrs (using juice defender) from it. Im now reviewing the 3800mAh that I got off eBay on the X2 forums, you're welcomed to come by since this battery is for both x's. I didnt want to start a whole new thread here in the X forums.

it really depends how heavily your using your phone and what for
I have 2 Motorola BH5X Standard 1500mAh Batteries I keep on me for backup at all times, which, ever since my sister-in-laws wedding and a trip to disneyland has become the standard for me.
Turns out taking a butt load of pictures and helping my wife manage the people at a wedding required a total of 3 batteries for my phone
Meanwhile, taking a lots of pix at Disneyland with no readily available outlets for my external charger also made 3 batteries the perfect number, especially after recording those late night light shows.
On a regular day though I can stretch out a single battery if I have an outlet for charging nearby or 2 batteries without a charger.
and yeah, I don't restrict data either so that does a number on my charge.
I get around 30 hours on the standard battery but I work from home, doesn't get two hours of streaming use on the way to and from work anymore. When I was driving two hours I would charge it every afternoon on the way home depending on the previous nights use. I also picked up a xoom so I use the phone a lot less now.

I am LUCKY to get 7 hours... I had to get a 2nd battery!
I ended up buying a second battery from Amazon for like 5 dollars and a cheap charger for the battery. Anytime I know I'm going to be out for awhile I take the extra battery. It has saved me a bunch of times.
If you're playing games or streaming movies a lot then I would def get one. With moderate use, I get at least 12 hours on mine
I would advice to replace a factory battery with an extended battery.
This one for instance is 3600mAh Extended Battery by Mugen, at least twice the capacity compared to factory battery. Reliable brand as well.
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...y-for-motorola-droid-x-with-battery-door.html
I would recommend one if you use your x constantly more than 4 hours in a single use.

My friend had gotten a Inc2 as a replacement for her BB and they sent her the extended for free as well as the regular. She didn't want it so I decided to try it out. I immediately noticed two things:
1) It adds negligible weight but a desired width to the phone, both are nice and work well with my large hands.
2) The backing for the extended battery actually makes clicking on the power button easier. Using the regular battery cover it was almost a chore to turn the screen on as the power button was almost flushed with the case.
So if you're thinking of shelling out moolah for it, it's a good bet you'll still love your phone afterwards.
But how's the battery life?
I have the extended battery also and love it! I just went to the lake for the 4th and didn't charge it from thursday morning until sunday around noon. Granted i didn't use the phone as heavily as usual i still spent around an hour a day on the internet, used gps, talked around 45 mins a day, and sent approx 50 texts a day. So i would say its pretty good!

it's b.s. though that the original Incredible had a 3500 mah extended battery where this one for the inc 2 is 2150 mah.
i'm waiting until a more powerful extended is available for the inc 2.
on a side note though, i used to have the thunderbolt and got the extended battery for that. the extended battery only helped a little bit but took twice as long to charge.
The only thing about other batteries is they may not work in the phone. I'm not sure about this phone specifically but my fascinate wouldn't charge one of the extended batteries I bought for it because it wasn't OEM. I had to install a custom kernel in order to make it work. In all honesty though, when I'm not on vacation I use the crap out of my phone and I haven't gotten it below 30% in a days time. And I'm sure if I HAD TO, I could go 4-5 days on a charge if I were away from my house/truck
Has anyone tried these?

Sounds like a good alternative if they fit and improve battery life if even just a little.

How did she get one for free? I am about through with my 14 day trial and considering a return because of battery life.
Thanks
I just got a Dinc 2 for a replacement also. I was working on replacing my eris for the 5th time and I was able to talk them into this instead (note this does not happen all of the time). I think they have an abundance of returns on this phone so they are turning them into warr replacements.
Some people are getting new devices out of this, not just refurbs. I think they are using this one because it's one of their cheaper current models.
Hey i just bought these, what do ya'll think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260787324461&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_4717wt_821
I bought one about a week and a half ago. Not name brand and look very similar to this one.
I'm happy! I work 12 hour shifts and I can go all shift HEAVY usage. ( never leaving my phone alone for more than 10 minutes at a time) and I still have about 40% percent left when I get home. I have went around 20 hours before. But make sure you condition it!

I can almost bet this is not a true 3500 mah but i don't care for the 12 dollars I paid and the fact that I can be at work all day come home and play with my phone for a full 1.5 hours after work and have 35 percent.

I got this same deal about 6 months ago.. They've been fine batteries and being that you get 2 it's definitely worth it. I had times with certain roms where battery drain was unbelievably high but if you have the right kernel it seemed to do well. I recall netarchy sbc no havs no uv worked very well in the froyo roms..
I wouldn't buy them.
I bought a similar deal with only 1 battery for $15 or so. The charger, battery and back case look similar to the one pictured. I wish I hadn't. The battery last about the same as my stock battery, so I wish I had just gotten a second stock battery I could throw in my pocket. If I want to do that with this battery I have to carry the extra thick battery and a different back.
i have them and love them... i have had mine off the charger for over 16 hours and its at 41% now.. thats with moderate to heavy use for about 8 hours and 8 hours on standby during the night while i slept (i forgot to plug it in)
im using the new mikG 2.0 base rom and it helps pretty good..
i was using juice defender but it lasts longer without it, but without the trickle charger the battery doesnt fully charge so you get that drop at the beginning, but if you put it on the external charger it will fully charge.
best thing i bought for 20 bux, i bought the 2 battery and a charger kit... cant go wrong for 20 bux
Well thanks for all the input! I should get them early next week so i can test them out on my vacation!
Amazon has them and for $8-12 its better than spending $50+ or carrying 3 batteries around.
Sent from my Synergized Evo
In the beginning it gave me around 2-2.5 days worth of battery per charge which was fantastic. The extended battery weighed about 3x the stock battery for outputting almost 2x. I liked the fact that it lifted the phone up so it wouldn't damage the camera lense (since the lense does stick out past the back cover). It was the same plastic as the rest of the phone so it made the phone look stock.
But after about 5 months, the battery capacity greatly decreased to the point where I was getting about 7 hours until I received the 20% battery warning. This battery was preforming worst than the stock battery.
So in the end I went back to the stock battery. What was everyone else's experience with these extended batteries?
Thanks. I was just shopping for an extended battery this morning. My stock battery is still doing okay after 14 months, but I wanted something to counter the effect ICS has had. I saw Seido's on sale at Newegg and was about to pull the trigger, I'll hold off until I hear more.
you might as well give it a try. I bought mine for around 10usd

Would you mind indicating exactly which 3800mAh battery you are reviewing?
Cell phone batteries and memory cards both suffer from a large amount of poor-product masquerading as quality. Reviews of this type of product are not actually helpful unless they identify the specific product, brand, and even seller.
I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if I purchased an extended battery for $10 and it started to go bad after 5-6 months. As comparison, my stock battery went bad after about 13 months. While paying more doesn't guarantee that you'll get something great, it is generally true in my experience that you get what you pay for.

Yeah, after three trexcells, two that need to be thrown out because of bulging, I just got a qcell 4100. I know the number means nothing. It said to do 6 full charge and discharge cycles in the beginning, and let the first one charge for nine hours. I'm on my second charge so far. Don't know if it's true but I read somewhere to charge with the phone off. The first charge ran reaaaly long before dying. Don't know if it was bad batteries or bad external chargers, but both my Samsung externals would only charge the trexcells to 95%, even if it was a 12+ hour charge.
Here I am about 4-5 months in on my 3800 batteries. 1 trexcell and 2 generic. Far as comparing to stock? Stock batteries make me sick now. They drain so much faster. The big ones amaze me how long they last. I do rotate the stockers in so they dont sit and go bad. So ill have a few days of extended then stock then extended ect. The performace of extended is so good I now see the big lump as sexy! I did find a great use for my stockers. (have 4) I was in my best friends wedding the other day and with no case and slim battery the phone slid in tux pocket easy lol. +1 but half way through reception I had to drunken walk way out to car and get spare -1. Right now as I set im about to hit 2 days on Trexcell on the newest Jellyverse sitting at 37% +20.
