Wow, nice deal for this battery. I wish They would have had this when I bought mine. I think I had like 10% pre-order.
Hopefully they will do the same for the Car Dock.

I also received mine today but sadly am returning it. I have 4 of the cheap HK batteries off ebay that I switch out during the day and was thinking I would just get one of these instead. After getting it, putting it on and seeing the bulk it added and how incredibly hard it was to get the Siedio backplate off again, I am thinking that I am going to just stick with the cheapo HK batteries. I use my phone heavily during the day and one of these batteries usually lasts me until I get home around 5pm. I switch out a fresh one at 5pm and I use it off and on until I go to bed, usually between 9pm-11pm which I leave it in overnight off the charger. In the morning, I switch out a fresh one and off to work and the cycle repeats itself. If I end up getting on a long tech support call with Cisco or another vendor, I always have a freshly charged battery in my pocket as well. Well, since I am done with this wall of text about my battery situation that pretty much has nothing to do with this topic, I will end it now.
Thanks for listening.
Even $50 is a complete ripoff. I have 6 spare batteries, all from ebay that cost less than $50 combined. I don't care that they might not have the advertised capacity, but neither does the seidio (according to battery boss) and guaranteed my two cheap 1800mah batteries will easily outlast the 3500mah seidio one for a fraction of the price. So what if I might have to swap one out at some point during the day? On top of it, they don't need to use that HIDEOUS cover that is required for the Seidio.

Verizon promotion sale

Went to my local Verizon Corp store yesterday to see if they still had the half off promotion on the extended battery. Bought one a few weeks ago. The sales person wasn't aware of such promotion. She brought out a bin of thunderbolt accessories. I asked her if she can scan their prices, she did. I bought a dock charger for $19.99 ($49.99 value) it fits the extended battery, another extended battery for $24.99 ($49.99 value), and an extended battery case for $10 ($19.99 value). There was more cases for $5, but not for the extended battery. So if you need some accessories, head out to your Verizon corp store. Ask them to scan their prices, their salesperson might think their dock chargers are not on sale.

Looks like accessories are also on sale online. The dock is also available for $20 online. Good deal, because I was just at the store the other day looking for the dock and it was full price.
The dock feels sturdy and looks good. I'm charging my extended battery now.

Is there any general consensus on the best alternative battery for this phone???

Under $30 too...
Don't know if you have a LTE Verizon GNex but the Verizon extended battery battery adds bulk to the phone and it adds some juice. Only $25 right now on sale. Or it was on sale.

I'm also for extended original, it do add some bulk, but they made it so, that is look in place with the device design, exactly like the one for S2, it just make it flush with the little bump on the back.
I bought the anker batteries on amazon. Two batteries and external charger for $20. Can't beat the price if you can do without nfc.

OEM Extended Battery for Verizon LTE Nexus

Now that Big Red has killed the Nexus LTE, does anyone have a lead on affordable OEM extended batteries?
I picked one up a year ago and its capacity has dropped below the standard battery.
Found it on Amazon for $35 which seems high. Is there a better deal out there?

VZW was selling them for $50, so $35 is not bad. But I know for a while VZW had them half price for $25, that's when I bought mine.

Right, I bought mine last year from VZW for $25 but they no longer offer it. Shouldn't the price have dropped?
