Anyone know what the proper size of contact photo's should be so they are not blurry as heck in the contacts tab?
I've tried large and small, all sorts of sizes, and the photos are always blurry for whatever reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah it's really annoying. Something to do with the syncing between PC and phone, I think.
Contact photos size:
150x150 works fine for me.
Hope that helps.
wow. searching through XDA archives, I discovered-
if you set the contact pictures THROUGH THE TF3d interface, the contact photos are sharp and crisp. if you do it through the WM interface, its blurry.
just tried it, and it works.
what a wack non-sense way of doing it. I had to set all my contacts as favorites in the TF3D tab, change picture, then remove as favorite.... and now they are all nice and crisp photos.
I was all excited when I started to read this but then I was dejected....I have 200+ contacts and you can only select one "favorite" at a time...not.going.to.happen.

Heres how I did it:
1.) make your caller pics 280x280x72dpi
2.) Go to TF3 "My Favorites" tab->All Contacts
3.) Pick a contact you want to add the pic to
4.) Menu->Edit Contact
5.) Click picture icon in top right of screen->Open Album
6.) Menu Albums->navigate to your 280x280x72dpi caller pic
7.) it may be slightly too big so it will ask you to crop it, just click OK
8.) Done->Done->Back
9.) Now erase the contact from Favorites and Re-Enter it, nice hi-res pic should be flippable
Here's a generic caller pic to work with

272x272 , thats the exact default picture size the device set for the contacts pictures.

I don't think that this is the right decision for contact picture integration,
because I have hundreds of contacts..
I can't manually editing every picture for every single contact(even if i use only 20 of over 500 numbers), and after that all these point after point that you described...
Am I right ?

I dont know about the facebook pictures, but this is the only way to assign a particular hi-res photo to a contact. Like you, I also have about 20 out of 200 contacts that I use pictures with, and anyway TF3D "My Favorites" only allows you 15 pics. It really doesn't take that long to assign photos to 15 contacts, but if you find a better way please post it here.
Any answer or registry tweak yet? I have the same problem!
dear friends,
how can i change my incoming calling and outgoing calling picture? it shows just grasses.
is it possible?
thanks...
More info please.
Is it the same as your wallpaper?
What ROM etc are you running?
As far as I know it's not possible. I have a black background, the photo of the person calling and the answer / hang up buttons.
its no problem if i set up the photo for my favorite calls.
but if i didnt add a photo for other contacts it shows me grass photo only. for incoming calls and for outgoing calls.
i will show you if i can get screen capture.
i think i have to change theme but i have just one theme and cant get new themes. i thnik its the problem.
Ahh, so you are just referring to the default caller image when no photo is assigned.
As far as I know it is not possible to change that specifically other than by changing themes, as you say.
yes thats right. default image.
so how can i find different themes?
how can i change default incoming&outgoing call theme on Full Screen Caller ID?
Would it be possible to alter the way the dialler displays a contact's picture when a call is being made/received?
At the moment, it takes up the full screen and looks horrible if you use the google contact picture.
Any ideas how I go about setting Zooper to change the colour of the number of unread messages or missed calls etc? The text is all white at the moment but I'd like just the number to show in red when I have something unread/missed.
Example for sms. Using Rich Text layout: $#SUSMS#>0?[c=ff0000]#SUSMS#[/c]: #SUSMS#$
There are more advanced examples on the dev's site:

On Android Messages, how can you have your profile picture display on the drop-down notification shade when responding to someone else? As of now I just have the blue generic one showing despite having set one from my photo gallery.

Would to know this as well. I set my profile picture under settings>system>multiple users. That didn't do anything though. I haven't really dug further into messages to see if there's a way to do it there.
