What phone plan you use with Ding? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently a sprint zero user with touch pro2. Just got a htc Dinc from eBay and feel it is much better than tp2. I am seriously thinking about dumping zero and switch to using pageplus prepaid. But before I do this I d like to ask around what plan you guys use? Thanks.

I'm using PPC UTnT. I talk a lot.

I've been using Pageplus prepaid since I got my Dinc 17 months ago. Very happy with them - Verizon network service at a much better price than Verizon.
DInc with CyanogenMod 7.0

PPC TnT1200 for now but thinking about flashing to straight talk. I need more data.

Page+ as well. I usually do the TnT1200 but some months I text a ton so I have to upswitch to the Unlimited.

1200 shared with wife, unlimited data and text as im on an alltel plan still. Get great service everywhere, even in the country.

Holy cow, still on Alltel plan?! VZW made me switch over less than 6 mos after they took over. I told them to take a hike once I saw they weren't changing prices.

We have the unlimited everything plan talk, text, data, but we pay mucho.
Probably won't but any more phones from Verizon for fear of losing our grandfather status. Read somewhere that we will get one round of device upgrades before we are forced onto a tiered plan. Can anyone confirm this?
Yo, I sent this!

Page Plus here as well. You just can't beat the price on the Verizon network

I was just checking out their plans. They're good unless you want to use data, then they're pretty bad. With the amount of data I use, I couldn't use a plan from them.

Is 4g worth changing for?

This coming week i will be changing phones. I have an unlimited data alltel plan with 10 my circle numbers. I use widi at home all the time and am wondering is it reallt worth buying a 4g phone and have to pay about $50 more a month, just to have the 4g srvice in my area. Im kinda torn right now. If i go 4g, they will make me xhange my plan, and right now, unlimited costs $20 a month for 2 phones.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
That's a huge change in bill cost right now. Would you be moved to a capped 2GB data plan per phone line from your present unlimited data plan? There's been a few LTE outages lately so I would advise you, if possible, to wait a little longer and see if Verizon's LTE network becomes more consistent.
I've always been cool with 3G and given how much of a battery hog 4G can be - I'm not going anywhere. I wouldn't trade that deal in!

Well, the more people jump on 4G the less 3G spectrum there will be, Verizon plans to have all 3G spectrum down by 2014.

Verizon will offer them a sweet deal on upgrading to 4G.
I would wait until phones with better battery life come along. If there is an emergency, a fancy 4G phone with no charge is just a paper weight. BTW, congrats on the $20 unlimited plan! Should've gone with Alltel...
Really, now is the time to upgrade. Get a GNex, get a razor, or get a resound. Personally get a G-Nexus. Excellent phone, its the future of Android. Its setting the industry standard.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Just ordered a Rezound via Amazon. I think 4G is worth it if you grandfathered in the old unlimited plan. Otherwise, I am not sure how worth it upgrading to 4G would be. Personally I never run into a situation where I have used more than 1 GB of data in a month, and average around 500 MB. However I am now using Google Music and have run into an instance where tethering for a laptop was really useful while being away from my home FiOS.

I understand that you keep or are grandfathered on the data plan, but isn't there another fee for LTE data? If so, how much?
Either way, the op would have to spend lots more coin for maybe not so much more goodies.

It isn't worth it until we get S-off on the Rezound; but that is the best replacement for the DInc.

My unlimited plan IS for data. I could choose one of the 2/4/10 GB plans or keep unlimited. There was no extra fee for 4G mentioned when I upgraded from my DInc to the Rezound.

There is no guarantee on that. I take stock aosp over sense for sure. And gnex has full root, not something rezound can claim yet. Gnex has loads of ROMs and kernels already.

So, has anyone seen the new prepaid plan?

Not sure if this should be in general, as it is a question. xD
But a month after purchasing my galaxy s 3 and signing a 2 year contract for the unlimited plan, t-mobile decides to make the 30 dollar 5G data unlimited text 100 minute plan to UNLIMITED data. And for me to switch it would cost approx 600 dollars -.-
Has anyone else seen this?

the $30 plan is not true(when are they ever) unlimited it caps you at 5GB 3g/4g and throttles you to EDGE once you get to 5GB. i've had this plan since the day it was introduced sometime fall of last year. its an ok plan if you dont rely on it as your only internet source or dont need minutes. i use skype and have wifi at home so it works for me. but i do reach the cap more often than not.

[Q] Contract terminated

So my Sprint contract got terminated for roaming. It will be effective next month.
I had really bad service where I lived. My signal would sometimes just go dead and would have no data just cellular and 3g 4g speeds were abysmal.. Trying to watch a youtube video or even load a gif HURT.
My question is while I go on about selling my GS3, what are my options for service? Can my phone go on a Sprint month to month service while I can jump ship?
Question for you, did Sprint charge you the ETF or anything like that, like was there any negatives other than service being cut?

Nope. The letter stated no ETF would be applied.
Really, I'm happy. Their service was unusable and I got tired of waiting on promises of better coverage. I think at this point in my area going with an unlocked Nexus 4 on TMobile prepaid is my answer ($50 a month unlimited everything. Speeds are terrific 16mbps+ in my apartment).
Just trying to figure out what can I do while I find a buyer for my phone and jump ship
You could flash to page plus in the mean time which uses Verizon's network. Or activate a cheap phone on your line right now and sell the gs3 now

I know T-Mo prepaid has a $30 unlimited Text and data(throttled after 5GB) with 100 minutes a month. Unless you need the unlimited minutes, I'd say the $30 would be a better deal.
As for selling the phone, I'd say try EBay and Craigslist.

I was looking at TMO before deciding to extend my contract with Sprint and upgrade to the SIII. TMO does have plans that are cheaper which doesn't allow tether (unless you add it on - $15.00/month) or more expensive plans that do allow tether but aren't unlimited. It's all a cluster.

Prepaid services T-mobile vs Straighttalk or ATT

Hello everyone, tommorow morning i leave on a roadtrip to USA. ill be gone for 21 days mostly will be driving on i5 highway and will stay 5 nights in VEGAS and 6 nights in LA. I have the note 2 T889 Same as t-mobile version but from Mobilicity and its already unlocked. what would be a good prepaid service for me to use? unlimited calling , unlimited text and atleast 2gb of good speed data. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Trust me 2gb is more than enough for a month. I have unlimited 4g from T-Mobile and I never exceeded 2gb. Hope I helped good luck

I go over 2gb because I use my note 2 as a hotspot while im driving with my kids so that they can use their ipods to stream netflix or go on youtube. Im on the $30 plan with 5gb and 100 min. The most I've used so far is about 4.3gb of data and my min are always under 70 min. I do more texting than talk so im ok with this plan at this price.

I live out in the sticks (Oklahoma), but in my experience T-Mobile has terrible coverage along even the major interstates. I might suggest ATT if you're going to be driving quite a bit.

Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Get either AT&T or an MVNO who uses AT&T's network
Hello,
My advice to you since you are travelling is to either use AT&T, AT&T Go Phone, an MVNO (H20, Net 10 {cousin of straight talk}) Now a few months ago I would have told you without a doubt to get straight talk but like inconceeeivable brought up, Straight Talk no longer sells sim cards that work on AT&T's network directly to the public. Now there are people who sell them on ebay but because they are rare now some people are charging a ton of money now (between 30 and 50 dollars per SIM when it would never go above 15 directly from the company itself) so I would buy from another mvno. If you search "mvno" on Wikipedia you'll find that there are plenty of different MVNO's that use AT&T's (& T-Mobile) network so if you search hard enough you'll have plenty of choices.
T-Mobile is improving faster now and is being aggressive but they have ways to go before they reach reliability status with AT&T.
Sooner than later Net 10 AT&T sims will be no longer (Net 10, straightalk, simplemobile, & tracfone are all owned by the same corporation) so I suggest you go get one. Their service is 50 a month. There is also Red Pocket & H20 but both of these options will run you 60 a month for unlimited talk, text, & web browsing (no streaming of movies and music)
I hope I was able to help.
I have the t mobile prepaid plan with the $30 100min/unlimited everything else plan. I love the pricing and this is truly a plan that fits my needs but damn I wish the service was better. They have always been great with me from a customer service perspective. Net10 on the other hand. ...

Hmm, TMobile will let customers upgrade 2x a year on new plan

T-Mobile to let US customers swap phones twice a year
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/07/10/tmobile_jump_phone_swap_plan/
They're really trying hard to attract customers. This is a serious hook, that's for sure.
True...but do the math. It will definitely draw people to T-Mobile, but they are just throwing away money. You are better off buying the device upfront than selling it yourself after 6 months instead of the 'JUMP' deal. If you upgrade after a year, you have just spent 150 for a phone, 240 for the monthly installments, and 120 for jump...that's 510 to lease a phone for the year. You probably could have purchased that same phone for 600 originally. I'm guessing you could have sold it for more than 90 dollars at the end of the first year.
Plus that includes insurance, so may be worth it for people that are willing to pony up for that anyway. T-Mobile is starting to look awfully tempting especially after the new sprint plan details that leaked recently.

I suppose that is fairly reasonable to have the hotspot on the phones; as I don't root my wife's and kids phones anymore. talk about a headache. hehehe
On T-Mobile, I am interested to see what amount of $$ they'll give you when you want to trade in for a newer model. Sprint's current trade in is horribly in inadequate.
