For some reason all posts relating to it on here are deleted.....
I ended up finding his posts with files on another forum via Google search.
I've asked why the deletion here and have yet to get an answer.

If you use any of the custom roms you'll have no CIQ (obviously as long as they mention they do). Changing the modem shouldn't affect it as far as I know.
He said he will repost the download link in his original post soon. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286783

Yep, he's absolutely right! I just flashed the noCIQ zip 2 days ago by Googling the name of the zip and the developer. The zip and tar both came up.

Ok i guess I'll try it. I found it on another thread. Anyone know why it was deleted? Is he updating it for the new EG31/EG30-REV5?

no need to be updated.
download a rom that has it included

I don't want to download a ROM. I prefer to stay stock. I flashed the e4gt-nociq-signed zip not sure if it worked. the thread said something about over scroll but I'm not sure what that is. Is there a way to check if it worked or not?

nice...too bad i dont know hot to push files from adb lol. reading the replies there also seems to be many errors installing and one claim of a bricked phone
Yeah, I read comments on their website that said it wouldn't flash.

There is an issue with that file. It doesn't work and you will either still have CWM or will be stuck on the splash screen.
The TWRP 2.0 thread in the general section has already brought brought up the issues.

If you follow the link and loon at the site, you will notice that epic touch is not on the list...yet. So, not sure why the post.
This needs to be moved to Epic 4G Touch General.

If the actual creators of it posted it then yes it should. However, there are still issues with it and the first few posts would do nothing but confuse people who see it for the first time. It should be closed or moved until an actual dev or someone who knows what they're doing can provide some support as an OP.

this shouldn't be in the dev forum unless it's the person who made it, but I don't understand, is this working? it says no issues in that link, but everyone says it's broken?

I'm with this. While I like the look of TWRP I think till the bugs are worked out I'll be sticking with what actually has been working for me and not causing any issues. The last thing I need is a bricked phone before I leave for a 2 week trip tomorrow.

@jaybizza Had you read through the thread (and the comments on the site) you would've noticed what I and others have wrote about it. Yes, the OP is an idiot for just posting it and not knowing what he was doing. The issues are being worked on.

[Q] System update?

I am rooted with Mortify ROM right now, but I keep getting a system update message. It only gives me the options to install it now or later. Will this screw up my phone, cause it is working fantastic for once and I don't want to have to go through a whole mess to make it work again.
TIA
It won't screw it up. It will fail, and then you will do a battery pull and restart it. It will, however, continue to pop up several times a week until you use the search to find the permanent solution.
(Hint: its several posts down and titled something like "running clean GB and prompted to update to FC09).

The permanent fix is to modify your build.prop to reflect you have fc09 instead of fb15 fc09 is the latest ota that's why your getting that notification. I will link you the how to. But to do it you use terminal emulator and follow the commands.

even if you dont upgrade your android version, you still might want to think about updating your modem via odin.

flastnotes, the problem is that, alot of threads on this site are scattered all over the place. so for a new persion to figure out how to find a specific thread or so, is actually kind of difficult.

And that's why there is a search feature.... AND GOOGLE! Sorry but that's not an excuse for me... I have been a member since, what, october? When I first signed up at xda you didn't see me posting the same things over and over again... whether its general or development, you should still search... if you have a question, I can almost guarantee you it has been asked/answered already! Bottom line....... SEARCH BEFORE POSTING!!!

GTalk apk please?

Whoever made the Free GS3 rom is a failure and removed the Talk app. One that isn't redownloadable from the Play Store.
Can someone please post this apk as I need it for work?

Ummm, they are all free.........
Might suggest being a bit more grateful for getting a free ROM you can load on your phone, and maybe not try new ROM's that have been just released, if you need it for something as important as work
your a nice man
I wouldn't have given anything to a person that insults a dev about his rom with no good reason

Overwhelmed

Hello guys, I'm new to this side of the forum as i owned an HTC evo shift before buying this phone. I've read and re read all the stickied rooting threads yet I'm still confused as to what i must do. All i want is root, no custom roms or anything fancy yet. I know i have ICS 4.0.4 and that's about as far as my knowledge goes. I apologize for being such a noob.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Well you can Odin FF18 root +cwm. That's sfhub's on click Odin. But they have the new FH13 as well too.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
That sound perfect. All i want at the moment is root access, stock rom.

Right on. Just asking. And using sfhubs threads, and now garwynn's as well, will get you there. Just had to ask cause that post I linked has the same info. Well, not updated with what Garwynn's putting out.
And the naming convention refers to when it was dated.. Alphabetically for year/month and numerically for date of the month.

Ya I know I need to update that...I've been lazy because even if it is updated daily we still get ~10 new q&a threads a day about info in there (for example info on the naming conventions for stock roms is in there!).... garwynn has been doing 1clicks of the new leaks correct? I'll have to add that in, unfortunately I've been working 60 hour weeks and trying to teach myself to build aokp so I having put much time to maintaining that thread...

Wasn't meant as a dig and I hope you didn't take it that way.
Garwynn has the rooted oc fh13, which is linked in rwilco's thread, but I believe the xda references point to the sxtp forum.
I may have made an observation that I shouldn't have put out on the post. Sorry. Was just giving recognition for the latest.
Your guide is good to point to and I use it in responses like I did here.
Again, no offense meant.

Oh none taken at all, no problem man just over justifying my lazyness as I've been meaning to update/organize that for weeks now! Glad to see some people do actually read stickies! Although you don't need it, its getting those who do to that's the problem!
