I have a Touch Diamond for 1 week and 3 days now, i like it very much
I have some questions about the roms.
Is it possible to change a ROM to another, and then go back to the original last htc rom?
If windows mobile 6.5 will come out, can it go on my htc touch diamond, and if i don't like it or it doesn't work that well, can i go back eiter?

in order to flash a cooked (customed) ROM, first of all you need to Hard-SPL your Diamond first. if you dont like it, you can always go back to the stock (manufacturing) rom.
some chefs already released some Windows Mobile 6.5 Beta ROMs already, and again u can always go back to the stock ROM.
point me in the right direction where i can get the latest uk rom for my diamond.
My touch screen decided to pack up on me today so I thought I might as well upgrade the rom.
The last rom upgrade i done was over a year so I'm assuming there should be some faster and better roms

If you want to test any custom ROM please check if you have hard SPL 1.93 Olinex.
install official ROM
hard reset
install custom ROM
hard reset

If you want to try WM 6.5 I advise you the BsB 6.5 but be ready to flash at least twice a month if you want to get the latest WM 6.5.
Don't hesitate to use MyPhone, the new synchronization service by MS.

I own a touch diamond and it has official software running. I am currently not pleased with it's performance. Even though I have been using it for 1 year now I have been reluctant to replace the software on it.
I have decided to flash a cooked rom (I will need to do a Hard SPL before) but there are so many and opinions may vary.
I need some advice in picking a good one.
I'm looking for latest version of win 6.5 and manila / touch flo 3d.
Sorry again but I'm a bit of a noob and I don't want to brick my phone installing something that may not work.

6.1 is in my opinion much better than 6.5

To Day I Hardspl And Flash New Rom For Touch Pro2 (Modify) That I Found In This Forum And I Notice After I Flash That Rom Build For Tilt2 (The Phone Signal Not Stable A Problem With Ram And Weird Problem About Hardware Keyboard ).
After I Use It And I Decide To Change To Another Modify Rom. I Found That I Can't Flash Rom. And Spl Change To New (Not Olinex).
I Try To Flash Olinex Again And Notworking (Device Not Responding Error In Flash Process)
I Try To Flash Stock Spl. And That No Luck It's Same Problem
I Worry About My Phone Are Not Able To Flash Again (I Have Bricked Nokia E90 And Feel Sad Before) And I Prepare To Sent To Htc Service But I Found The Way To Flash By Accident
To Make Phone Flash Able
1. I Have Flash New Windows Mobile For Touch Pro2 (S2) From Htc Website That Have The Same Spl. After That I Feel Happy That I Can Flash Official Rom And Hardreset After That.
2. I Downgrade By Flash Official Windows Mobile From Htc Spl 0.87 And Hardreset After That
3. I Can Flash Olinex Spl And Happy To Flash ModifyRom Again.

Normally a cooked ROM should work even better/faster than any original ROM.

Does the new hardspl include a overwrite protection freature? meaning that a new hardspl can't overwrite it?
hello i would like to know if you could help me decide... i have this htc diamond with a ROM 1.93.422.4 WWE wich is the one the phone brought and i wanted to know if theres a better ROM thn tht one and if its compatible with the phone... like ive been reading about this one 1.93.831.1 WWE but i dont know wich one is better or if its compatible.... help me please
If it's the first time you flash a ROM, you have to follow the HardSPL tutorial.
After your Diamond have HSPL, you can flash which ROM you want, there are lots of good ROM in this section, i suggest you Maemo ROMs but you should try it yourself.
I'm using Celoni Tribute ITA, he also released a WWE version with WM6.5.x and HTC Sense.

hey thanks a lot but do i need to do a HSPL to upgrade to those ROMS? the shipped ones? and any HSPL would work? or i have to flash an specific one in order to upgrade the ROM to the shipped one 2.03.xxx ?
No it should flash fine if it is your operator
If it is a different operator, maybe, Im not sure
so i dont have to do any HSPL ? just run the rom with the phone on activesync and thts it? and i think my phone is not flashed with HSPL it will work without doing it?
If it's the right ROM for your phone you'll be able to flash it even without HSPL, but it has to be an official update, check on the HTC website for your IMEI.
I suggest you to use HSPL to have a very higher choose, there are lots of ROMs here, official ones are outdated nowadays.

Sense is WM6.5
If you are going to flash a 6.5 ROM you need to unlock it and HardSPL etc
TouchFlo is the 6.1 version of sense, its almost the same without the eye candy

I've been using GTX for a couple days w/out problems, although it's not the fastest ROM I've ever used looks-goodies/speed ratio is very reasonable.
Of course you have to HSPL your phone before flashing.
Also It's highly recommended to use radio 1.17.25.09 which I think is the latest.
I've had it installed even before flashing GTX and used it with wm 6.5 ROMs in USA, Mexico, Canada, Germany & Greece w/out problems. It's Quad-Band.

Not true, there are lots of cooked ROMs with Sense and WM 6.1
