Ok I decided to root my with odin on my SGS2 today and flashed StarburstROM, immeadiately getting statusbar FCs and reboots i looked into it and the ROM thread says ''Go into clockwork mod, go under mounts and storage and format system'' after doing that anything i do (wiping data, cache or even reflashing i get
E:unknown volume for path [/cache]

Im also not able to choose a zip from the SD card to flash as it says E:Cant mount /sdcard/. I seem to not be able to do anything..Please is there any way i can reverse this????
BTW When i turn the phone on its stuck on the Samsung screen with the yellow caution sign
I had to reinstall the kernel to get a fresh copy of CWM when I had that problem.
reinstall cwm through odin then flash your rom in cwm

I flashed ClockWorkMod 3.0.0.5 yesterday and decided to try and flash the new viperRom today. when I loaded into recovery CWM 3.0.0.5 showed up. but under it.. I get...

I cant do none of the wipes or backup without getting some type of "unknown volume for path"
then when I try to go to "choose zip from sd card"
I get..
E: unknown volume for path [/sdcard]
E:Can't mount /sdcard
so do I need to reflash CWM 3.0.0.5 or do I need to format my SD card or what??
PLEASE HELP!!!
Just start from scratch
Odin DK28
Reroot with 1Click Cw3
Boot into cwm3
Wipe Data,cache,dalvik x3
flash Viper Rom
thanks for the reply Saint..
but I figured it out.. I was using QuickBoot to load into recovery mode..
once I used the 3 finger salute.. it worked..
so lesson learned..
DONT USE QUICKBOOT TO LOAD INTO RECOVERY MODE!!!!!!!!
this same thing happened to me and I thought i was going to need to reflash, etc, but i was doing the same thing and it was just a quickboot problem. thanks.

What a bump.
Go check the stickies in the dev section, and you can put your phone back to stock via download mode.

Wrong section. GT-P1000 is Galaxy Tab and it has a dedicated subforum. Go ask over there and you'll get more help.

For some reason clockworkmod isn't working for me. It gaves me errors when I enter recovery and I cannot boot into a rom. It gets stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S II" screen. I also cannot wipe anything or access my sdcard.
This is what it says at the bottom when I boot into recovery. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the recovery isn't installed correctly. Try reloading a Kernel/CWM via ODIN and see if that doesn't fix it.

Did you Odin root with different recovery versions? Try that.

check this thread out in General
New recoveries for new phones that won't mount storage!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391616
I just rooted my phone and got S-Off. Once I had that I installed CWM recovery v6.0.4.7
I booted into recovery and tried wiping data/factory reset but it froze. When I boot back into CWM recovery I get the following:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
My phone won't boot (remains at HTC logo screen) and it won't let me install my CM10.2 rom because it also freezes.
Where did I go wrong?
**************************************
I was able to boot into ADB
I pushed the latest TWRP recovery onto my phone
I wiped data again (this time no errors)
I flashed CM10.2 and Gapps using new recovery
I'm back in business!
So i recently bought a nexus 7. I Unlocked bootloader using fastboot. Rooted. Installed CWM. Now i was trying to flash CM12. But then when i go to CWM and try to wipe/Flash ROM, I get the following message:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/last_log unable to open ums lunfile (no such file or directory)
E:failed to mount /sdcard (file exists)
E:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory
I tried everything i can do, such as wiping everything using fastboot, changing recovery, using toolkits, but none of them worked. I think this is my last chance to get help. I hope i get this solved.
Try flashing manually?
