It sounds like a speaker problem, you might need to have it repaired? If you still get sound through the headset seems it's only he speaker?
the sound is coming out of nowhere just now....im just turn it off, remove the battery like 20 minutes, turn it on, and somehow the sound is back...what the....
anyway thank you all for the replies...
<Rant> I loved the OneV when I got it, and I still like it but everyday seems to begin with a new bug.
First Lockscreen shortcuts, then after noticing the thread here, I checked my phone for lightleak and noticed my phone too had the problem but didnt make too much of it since it dodnt interfere too much in my use.
</Rant>
But now the Volume controls dont work. Works nowehere, Media, In call, Ringer volume everything is stuck at whatever level they were at.
When i press the button the screen shows as if the volume decreases, but actually there is no effect. Even if Mute media volume, music plays at full volume, my in call is stuck at mimum volume and I can hardly hear people.
Any known fixes?
P.S: Havent installed any audio apps, just using stock music player
BUMP anyone?
No problem with me....

You have the issue with volume from beginning or after some days of using? This can't be a hardware problem, try to restore factory settings...

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this problem so please don't flame me. :fingers-crossed: I am new!
I flashed AOKP's jellybean ROM for AT&T last night and ever since then my speakerphone volume is really low. It's almost the same volume as the regular speaker. I can't hardly tell the difference between when it's on speakerphone and not.
Not sure what to do! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I am running AOKP as well, although i haven't yet used my speakerphone, when my volume is up my notifications can be deafening at times...especially high pitched squeals and the like. Try going into the settings>rom control>sound menu and enable the volume panel. This enables you to selectively adjust the volumes for each sound group (for lack of a better word). This is similar to the stock sound menu with greater control. With this enabled when you adjust your sound using the rocker buttons you will see a mixer icon on the right, press that to open the volume panel and try adjusting the sounds that way. I've found the best setup for me is to crank up the phone volume, and then put the notification and music levels somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 full. Its worth mentioning i also have my volume levels linked so that they all scale up and down together, this way my phone volume isn't all the way down while the notifications remain loud for example. This setting is found in the settings>sound menu.
I enabled that and it was turned all the way up. But I turned it down and then turned it back up and now it works great. Thank you so much!

I have a Tmo GS3-T999, 16GB, PBlue.
I'm using AOKP, Milestone (stable build). Seems to be functioning correctly thus far.
I can't seem to adjust the call volume on the external speaker. Also, when I'm on a call, the volume rocker doesn't adjust the volume of my earpiece while the screen is off.
Can you help me mange this?
so when you move your face away and the screen lights up, and you toggle volume it works?
Try reflashing the rom. It seams like a bad flash. If that doesn't work, flash different rom and check if the problem still exists. If it's it might be a problem with your phone.

The volume 'does' toggle then but doesn't really work well.
I play music off my phone in the car. After I answer a call, the music resumes at a much lower volume, despite the fact that I haven't touched the volume on the phone or car. I have to press volume up 3 times and it doesn't go gradually up, but instantly from the low volume to the high it was at. Is there a setting to get the music volume to maintain? Using poweramp. Thanks
Anyone have a similar issue? I remember having it on the GNex as well but fixed it somehow. Cannot remember how, though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I continue to experience this same problem on stock 4.1.2 ROM. I suspect it is a bug in the ROM. I don't know how to duplicate the problem because I have gotten calls and the volume was correctly restored. I've also tried making calls and the volume was correctly restored.
check all your sound setting and make sure that the volume is up on the system part of the sound menu...i had the same problem ...that seemed to fix it for me...
