Hi,
Is your phone rooted? You need to calibrate your battery. See guide here: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/calibrate-battery-on-android-devices-with-battery-calibration/


yea my phone is rooted & i tested all rom's in xda & all kernel also the caliberated mod no thing solve my problem

do you use your phone alot and do you run alot of apps
p.s. what rom are you using?

pls excuse my english
My problem is not that my phone goes off, the contrary.
I use my phone all day without problem, the problem is the bar indicator still shows that my battery level is 18% even if I leave it to load a week.

[Q] New HTC Desire HD from Vodafone Australia

Hey guys,
I just got my HTC Desire HD a few days ago. Been using the phone without modding or anything (I have no clue about them, just found out that we could do this yesterday) and found that my phone is pretty laggy occasionally and the battery life... is horrible!
The battery life has been fluctuating every day. Today, the phone lasted me for 5 hours only. Did not use the camera or watch videos. I checked the Battery Use window and I found that my Android OS used about 46% and my Display used 34%.
The software number is 1.32.178.5 with Froyo (2.2). I'm wondering if any mod could provide me with better performance and battery life as my OS currently is a battery guzzler.
I'm new to HTC and I've been reading up on flashing, modding etc. Not understanding too much though. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
The first thing you need to do is root your DHD. Without that, there is nothing much you can do.
Hey thanks for replying.
Yeah, I got that part. I wanted to know if replacing the mod will improve the performance and reduce the load on my battery.
Wondering if anyone has experience this change by replacing the mod rather than just having cosmetic and utility difference.

I am using ARHD on my DHD (as you can see from my signature) and i have huge improvement of overall performance and battery. It is just awesome using DHD with this ROM loaded on.
Most people root their device for better performance/stability and freedom than to color and give their DHD a cosmetic look!
PS! Read my signature....esp the last line

I have the same software version (AU Vodafone). I found it took a few charge/discharge cycles for the phone to get better acquainted with its battery. The first few days I was concerned about battery discharge time, however now I'm not. I even purchased a second charger for work, however I rarely seem to use it.
I've rooted my DHD using Visionary r14 however I'm still running the original ROM. I recommend that you try the following before changing your phones software:
Install SetCPU from the Market (requires root). This will underclock your phone (saving power) when not in use.
Settings -> Display -> Brightness -> Tick Automatic Brightness.
Disable GPS/Bluetooth if you don't use it, or enable it only when you need it.
Leave wifi/wireless off. You've got 2GB of 3G/HSDPA data allowance (slower than wifi but seems to use less power). I don't even use 25% of my data allowance.
Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Tick USB Debugging. This will reduce the lag (and stop Android OS using 46% of your battery).
I listen to music for close to 90 minutes per day, and sync two email accounts, RSS, Twitter, weather, etc. My battery will last at least a day and a half - by then it's at about 20% charge.
After being unplugged for 16.5 hours, my battery usage is as follows:
Cell standby 34%
Display 30%
Phone idle 28%
Android System 3%
Mediaserver 3%
Android OS 2%
And I've had the screen on for more than usual today.

I just tried this last night, had a really busy week. And WOW! I usually do not charge my phone overnight as I've heard that overcharging causes the battery to eventually become weak. I lose about 20-22% overnight where my Android OS takes up most of my battery. After I rooted and installed SetCPU, I lost only 8% over 6 hours, where the OS used only 5% and phone idle used 24%. A HUGE change, cheers for that Mike.

I'll try that ROM in sometime, look at how my phone is gonna perform after SetCPU. I've heard that using a different ROM will screw up my warranty so I'll hold on to the current ROM for a while. Thanks again.
Help needed with ozzy Radio Roms - Like which one??
Can anyone help me I really want to use CoreDroid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418
After rooting, Eng-off, S-off, unlocking the sim and using Clockworkmod to install CoreDroid. It booted fine and all looked good very impressed.
Except I now had no signal at all (bluetooth and WIFI are OK).
Tried multiple Radio roms found on XDA website all without any result.
After changing the ROM using the adb to push radio.img, restarting in fastboot
and finally flashing the rom. I would rebuild CordDriod from fresh each time just to be sure.
Can any body let me know if there is a more up to date ROM that is working with the VodaFone Australia Desire HD.
Many thanks in advance for any effort required.
Im going to try again, maybe i missed something.

[Q] Aurora V4.1: Problem Battery

Hi everyone!
This is my first post so tell me if i'm doing something wrong .
So the purpose of this thread is that i've got a problem with the rom Aurora V4.1 in my htc Desire.
Very often the battery icon shows, during a second, that the battery is very low and then back to it's normal value. If it was just that it wouldn't be a problem but the fact is that sometimes the level showed is so low that the phone shut down like it has no battery but it has!
I've seen in the lasts posts of the official aurora V4.1 that someone experience the same problem. He was suggested to shut down his phone and to completely charge it, then turn on in recovery and make a wipe battery stats. But apparently it s a problem of aurora that this trick doesn't solve.
I very like this rom and I would love to keep it so i would like to solve this issue.
Thanks

Is this an old battery? With my old batteries I found the phone would go down to 20% or 15% as normal, then it would just turn off. I did some research with Google and learnt a bit about discharge rates and stuff... Then I downloaded a couple of battery calibration apps from Google Play and tried those. This one seems to be working OK for me (on MW v4.4) at the moment:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.chorrapps.calibrar&feature=order_history
Noiw my battery counts from 100 to zero, then the phone closes down, like it should.
thx for the answer but i think that this is because the battery is old .. I tried very calibrations, but none was going to try this ... thank you. :good: my battery is acting weird since I did root the phone and put a new rum

Galaxy tab 3 SM-T210 Problems with battery meter

First sorry for the translation, I'm from Brazil and I'm using translator ok.
I come here asking for help to you to solve a major problem that is plaguing me, and the next have a galaxy tab 3, SM-T210 model, the following is happening and the battery meter this crazy carry the tablet 100% off when I turn on 10 minutes on the battery drops 1% to% the tablet works well for hours, and placed on standby screen off the meter starts back until you reach 100% and so continues the meter is completely crazy, already tried everything restored original factory hard reset, I root already used the battery calibration, practically already tried everything porfavor count on help from you to solve this problem, I'm waiting thanks.
Same problem here. Changed battery and problem remains.
I can use it with 1% for hours, seems some problem with battery meter. I'm about to flash a custom rom / bootloader/ recover from scratch wiping all to see if it helps.
Otherwise I'll need to use it at 1% forever
-----------
Edit 1:
Absurd! Seems this device forgot the low battery level...
Replaced battery, flashed another stock clean rom with latest version (4.4.2)
This "drain" also happens on recovery screen.
It works with 1% during hours... I' ll try to let it drain all (wait it to really discharge all) and recharge 100% again.
-----------
Edit 2:
Haha, went to recovery right after post last update, then it increased from 1% to 100% without the charger
Seems something is messing up with the battery levels on android OS on all versions. I'll let it discharge on recovery... at least seems it is the correct level... let's see if the device learns again the battery levels
-------
Solved: removed battery, hold power button for 30 seconds (to clear all energy accumulated on circuit (capacitors?!) and plugged it again. Worked.
I read about it on some google search.

In standby overnight, maybe 3-5% battery drain. A lot of things come in play though such as what apps you have installed, if your on LTE, or 3g, or wifi, or even go into airplane mode at night, etc.

first of all , I'd like to thank you for your reply ..
I've bought a new desire 816 two days ago and I can notice something wrong with the battery as it drains faster than normal
and it gives false percent as it increases after restarting the phone ..
I've tried to calibrate the battery by letting in turn off by itself then recharging it to 100% but then I realized It's still giving me false number
I don't know what to do ... It would be great if you can help

Have you tried a battery calibration app such as the one by NeMa in the PlayStore? It requires root but it basically asks you to charge your device to 100% which is done from empty to max in about 3 hours. At this point you go in the app while its still plugged in and "clear" the batterystats. This is the file that tells the device how much charge it can hold and on some devices this file gets buggy/glitched. It will wipe this file away and generate a new one based on the charge the battery holds at max. It then asks you to use the device as normal until it dies and recharge to full afterwards. This has worked for many and I hope it will work for you as well.
If you have excessive battery drain look at the Power settings and review the usage. If it shows a green line on awake and it doesn't show the same matching the screen on time then you have a background app sucking battery from the device. Facebook and its Messenger are known to be the culprits but if you download Greenify from the PlayStore. It will allow you to hibernate practically every app so there is no battery drain when your device screen is off. In combination with this app I am able to get an average day and a half of use with no charge and normal use with Videos, Music, Facebook, Messenger; etc. I average I use about 6-10 hours on this device with pure stock w/ root & Greenify with battery calibration via app done.

Yes, Greenify does require root in order to work but it does work flawlessly.

Unfortunately, the lack of rapid reaction because I was too busy
Pressing the power switch for exactly two minutes and the device will tell you Alglaq Do you want to or not agreed to the demand and calibration Congratulations to you
Thank you
I fixed my battery issue. the exposed software killed mine relating to the same issue i believe you had or have. reporting wrong percentage. once had 50 percent, took it back out of my pocket and within 5 mons i had 4%. wouldnt charge.
Power it off... hold all 3 buttons (power+volume up+volumedown) after 15 seconds it will boot back up. this calibrated my battery. hope this works for you.
Wrong battery percentage report is fixed by HTC on 1.58 rom update. it works fine on 1.58 Rom
My battery on my htc is draining fast I think it went from 100% to 83% percent in like 20 minutes is this normal? I have disabled everything that I'm able to disable on this phone but once it gets to 70% the drainage kinda slows down
