need guidance..pls help

Hii guys sorry for being such a noob .. but I am very confused here.. I am not able to install a custom Rom in my beloved xperia arc my phone just stuck on sony logo.. I tell u what i did.. first of all i rooted my phone by flashing rootable kernel then rooted my phone with doomlord
Method then I installed CWM..but the problem is no matter which custom ROM I install in my phone with CWM phone just stuck on sony logo
Plz tell what i did wrong..
P. S. My phone was on latest ver of ICS

Unlocked bootloader, right?
Well... I started flashing with the FXP CM based roms. I suppose that this is exactly what you did, but since you didn't tell the steps you followed, I'm gonna write down how I did the first time:
With an FXP CM based rom (eg: FXP CM 10) , the steps, basically are:
- Extract the boot.img (own kernel of the FXP roms) of the .zip and put the .zip in the sdcard
- Flash the kernel in fastboot mode:
( fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0xfce flash reboot
unplug the usb and start hiting volume controls to enter in CWM)
- Wipe data and cache
- Install the .zip (rom)
- Reboot and enjoy

Aactually I am not. Able to flash kernel image with fastboot.. I mean with flashtool I am not Able to flash kernel image.. flashtool is showing error that my phone is not rooted.. but it actually is..
And suppose if i want to install ROM( jelly sandwich) can u tell me the procedure from the scratch, I ll really appreciate it.. coz I am trying for 2 days with negative result...

I'm noob too, so unfortunately I can't help in the most effective way.
The only apparent difference between our phones (from what I understood from your post) is that I unlocked the bootloader. I read here in XDA that some roms just need this while others not.

It's easy, but may void the warranty... Go here: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
(Note: In my case I didn't install the sdk, but I just can't find the tutorial that I followed to unlock the BL... Anyway, the tutorial that I've used was in portuguese... Not much help for you I guess
Note2: In the middle of the process, you'll have to inform your IMEI in the sony website... Use just the first 14 digits).

There is enough information in the guides and stickys to help with most things, People just need to read it.

When I want to know sth, I search and then I will have more than I wanted.:angel:

1. unlock the boot loader
2. Download a custom kernel for your current version of android ie: GB/ICS i suggest DoomLord.
3.Put the kernel ( .img ) into the same folder as you have fastboot/adb
4. Power the phone into fastboot: Power down your phone. Press and hold the menu button then plug in your usb cable (the light on the side will be blue)
open a CMD window in the same folder as fastboot/adb and type the commant:
fastboot flash boot NAME OF FILE.img
push enter.
Once the install is complete (a couple of second) you will have root and custom recovery.
Make sure your phone version is rootable
There are guides available in the General section, I suggest you read them if this is your first root.

Hi every one I have rogers arc running on the latest ice rooted Bootloader was locked. I did bootloader unlock with test point.The flash tool saying that bootloader is rooted but I cannot flash any custom rom or even a backup I usually can't pass Sony screen any input is appreciated.

Just use flashtool to flash the rom again man, i think u should flash the stock rom firs
If it's ok, then flash your custom rom

I am running the official rom no problem it's not allowing me to flash any custom roms in the recovery mod. I cam reboot to recovery either by x-part or holding the menu key while it start.:crying:

I think u need to unlock ur bootloader first
If not, try to find rom that can use with locked bootloader

You unlock your boot loader with the test point, not root. So please be clear about what you've actually done.

Yes I unlocked my bootloader with test point ***but on service menu still say no** but on flashtool was saying bootloader unlocked B4 i did the test point and after it say bootloader is rooted

Have you flashed the kernel?

If you want to use a custom ROM then 9 times out of 10 you'll need to use a specific kernel, usually one that comes with CWM.

I know exactly how to flash custom rom, I am coming from MT4G the problem after you flash the rom the phone dosn't boot in recovery it just stay at sony logo, even when i try to boot in fastboot mod dosn't allow me only booting in recovery.

Try this....
1. Flash ur stock ICS firmware 4.1.B.431 ... 2. Don't let it upgrade to the latest firmware (in Canada I got N update that changed my firmware to 4.1.**.587 or something like that)
3. Then flash ur phone with the rootable firmware of xperia generic world version...
4. Flash the kernels for that firmware .. even the stock ICS would be OK..
5. Root the phone using Doomlords method of rooting... Its the best...!
6. At last reboot ur phone ..n violaaa...
U have a completely rooted phone ..!
P.s. make sure u see the log while u root ur phone . It may say rooted successly even if it had some errors... so make sure other are no errors..!
I had the same problem when I decided to unlock boot loader n root it for the first time ... so no worries my friend ...try this .. n it will work for sure.. !

Hi my friends thanks for the reply but my phone is already rooted and i can go to recovery mod even i did the trick of link2sd which increased my internal memory I am running the north america firmware not Rogers firmware

I know ur phone is rooted ..but if u try again ..with the world firmware ..it will b rooted perfectly n won't stuck on boot..!

1. If u r flashing the custom rom with flashtool right .?? and while doing tht are u pressing the back key ...or the menu key of ur phone .??
2. If u havent flashed any custom rom untill yet..n still on north america firmware.. then try to re-root it ...and then install CMW via this link..!!

I think you can't flash custom rom from flash tool it must be flashed from you sd card because it is a zip file. I tried to flash recovery mode you supplied the link with no go.

So u did root and installed cwm by the link I gave right ?
N it showed that .. installation complete.. ?
N now ..the problem is ..
that u cannot enter recovery mode
To flash a custom ROM ?
Am I right ?

[Q] i can't flash doomkernel .

i try to flash it with Fastboot Flasher-V3.2 and it says my arc s is not rooted and it is already rooted and super user appeared ... also this message appears when i try to install any rom boot.img by fastboot mode in flash tool .
plz help .. thx for every thing .

u must unlock your boot loader from Sony ,Google it before asking !

And if you have unlocked it and still getting the message then it's not rooted properly. Also provide more details when posting such as what firmware you're using. The one thing you wont find on XDA is mind reading.

like u see i am new here .... i use arc s on ics 587 ... i rooted it with doomlord v1 root ... and installed cwm with cwm installer and i managed to enter cwm ... when i try to install rom it says installation aborted ... when i try to fastboot flash boot.img it says device must be rooted first ... is that enough ?

As you're new, give my GUIDE a quick read, it covers pretty much everything. If your BL is already unlocked, then reflash the stock ROM, then boot in to recovery using your computer, see HERE and flash the attachment which will root your Phone. If you still get the error message then you might not have unlocked your BL properly either.

Not going to fast boot or anything..

Guys pl help me out here.. My phone is fully dead .. It is not going to fast boot any more.. I was running PAC man ron.. I unknowingly flashed Multirom manager.zip for nexus 5.. My phone is not booting and its fully dead.. ppl pls healp me I am totally upset .. I cant do anything...

Flash stock rom, device will boot..
If you don't know how to flash stock rom,
search for root threads in general section of this device
Once ur device boot.. U can do whatever u want to do..
U will need
flashtool
Stock rom
Laptop or pc for using flash tool
And Data cable
There are tutor how to flash stock rom in general section
Check root thread's for that..
U need to connect device in flash mode for that
I'm from mobile so cannot help much..

Bro, I know to flash roms and all that things...I have many experience in flashing roms.. Now MY problem is I CANNOT go to either fastboot or flash mode.... I dont konw why my phone is not even gng to fastboot ... If I click the power button there is vibrations. The battery was at 75%.

Try pressing the reset button located on the sim tray. I hope that will be helpful

Try this - download the latest flash too and either 4.4 or 5.0 ftf. slect the appropriate ftf and once it is ready to flash, ie., when it prompts you to connect your phone, connect the phone to the laptop with vol - pressed. It should detect the phone. This method would wipe out the entire internal of the phone and do a clean install. Unlikely this should not work.

Pls understand my major prob is I am not able to go to flash mode or even fastboot.

i can understand not able to get into fastboot mode (probably your bootloader is messed), but how did you figure out your device not getting into flash mode. You have not mentioned about how it behaved with flashtool. What does it say when you connect it to the laptopn with only vol- pressed?

Connect ur charger and say wat happens?

Please provide more details on what is the behavior of your device and what have you done so far

The fastboot is working and i have downloaded indian version of latest D5322_Customized IN_1280-6721_19.3.A.0.472_R4C and make ftf file and tried to flash but its says You must have the according fsc script to flash this device.
also strange thing found i had flashed dual recovery and both recovery working properly (i am stucked in bootloop because i had flashed supersu.zip provided by chainfire)
any help appreciate thanks in advanced

Whats the flashtool version?
Do u installed the flash tool drivers properly?
Could yu also plz provide some snaps

For few minutes it glows red and after that it goes off and for few hours the phone feels warm and after that it become cool.. No green led ..:crying:

If i connect it to computer by pressing vol- , it says usb cannot be recogonising

finally i managed to recover my phone
i have downloaded old flashtool 0.9.18.6
And flash was successful

Z5p 6853 bootloader unlocked, could not flash back MM 305, need help....

My Z5P 6853, i did unlock bootloader yesterday in 5.1 ( 32.0.A.6.200 ), now i flash back to 6.0 (MM 32.2.A.0.305 ), but flash could not be done, I try in many MM ftf , but all error and stuck after SONY logo ( if I flash back 5.1 , the phone will be work fine )

what flashtool version you are using?
download latest flashtool, re download the ftf from that version and then flash!
