HELP PLZ!!!!
and forgive my english but im from chile!
How did you flash it?
Did you do it through "Kies" or "Odin"?
Can you still boot into the phone?
Is the "Download mode"(Volume Down+Home+Power) still works?

Everything works... i can make and recieve calls, navigate thru internet, everything, but the phone just doesnt recognize my internal and external SD, i read that its a model problem but maybe installing everything again from scratch might fix at least my external sd problems.... what u think??
If you are able to get in to recovery mode(hold volume up+home+power as you turn on the device), then go into the recovery mode and do "factory reset" and reboot your phone.
See if that solve it.

Stuck in a bootloop? Remove the battery. Go into the recovery, perform a full-wipe and flash again. If that not helps then boot youre phone again in the recovery and .....then:
Format youre sdcard from the recovery into swap=0, ext=512, remainder=fat32. You will loose all there is on youre sdcard.
Then after formatting. Turn off the phone. Take out the sdcard and copy the rom to youre sdcard. Put it back in the phone. Start youre phone in the recovery and flash the rom.
Thanks for the quick reply.!
The problem is i am unable to login to my phone. So how will i be able to flash the phone? only if i log in can i use rom manager isnt it? I am a total newbie at this. I would really appreciate it if you could explain this in detail to me!
thanks!
as I know power button with volume down together then wait then use volume down
to highlight recovery then power to enter.
It is explained in the first post of thus forum.
Hold down the back key while pushing the power button.
You will get a menu
Select Bootloader (by pressing power button)
Then wait for 10 seconds on the next menu
Scrol to Recovery with the volume-down button
Then you'll wait ten seconds and get a black screen with red traingle
now connect your phone to the pc with usb
start a adb recovery on the pc (for this you must have a recovery on the pc installed as well as Android SDK) in my case I just run the file recovery-windows.bat
Then you'll get a menu on your phone wit a lot of options, you can even select Ms-usb toggle after wich you can acces your sd card.
I am not a developer but think this is quite it. Download links are all in teh first thread of this forum.
Could you tell me if this would work?
I'll first wipe the phone, including the cache.
Then I'll copy paste the zip file of the Nextsense rom onto an sd card from my PC, insert into my phone, go to recovery mode, go to the sdcard-update.zip menu, and select the nextsense zip file.
Will that work?
Please help me out. and cheers to all u guys who took the trouble to reply so quickly. thanks..
I finally got it to work. All i did was I went into the recovery console, selected factory reset. and it got alright. Only problem is that i think my sd card got busted in the process. No idea what happened to it. It is not even getting detected by my laptop. I guess i ll have to get a new one. Thanks a ton to all the xda guys for helping me out. this forum is really kickass! I shall definitely return to xda to get help on further issues!
reformat your SD card , that should fix it !
Thanks! yeah, formatting the sdcard fixed it. Finally working properly now..
HTC desire stuck in bootscreen
I have the same problem with my desire. While loading a ROM with ROM manager the phone rebooted and started to install the ROM. But while it was installing it i error message came up and the phone froze. And after that it get stuck at the bootscreen. I've read the posts written earlier about this problem, but nothing works.
When I push volume down + power on the phone should think for a second and then show green texts about the SD card etc, but when this message shows it says it can't find anything on the SD card. And when I enter fastboot -> bootloader, it just throws me back to the home menu.. any ideas what to do?
you have to use recovery option in the bootloader
Unless you pushed the NewSense ROM via ADB you're most likely going to get a bootloop. After reading statements in the flashable versions of that ROM, that's what I've gathered: Bootloops.
Either wipe everything and install another ROM or install it the 'old school' way, using ADB.

Where can i get to windows-recovery? I installed SDK but what then?
Similar problem
Hey.
I tried to s-off my phone using alpharev and I had the "waiting for flashing to complete". I tried to check if the proces was running with some commands and it seem as if I managed to restart the proces. I finally gave up and removed the phone. Probably too early because now I can only get bootscreen and Clockwordmod recovery. I'm unable to get further than that and therefore I'm not able to start the s-off proces again.
Can anybody help me?

Flashing a new rom didn't help? Are you sure you wiped everything? Does it boot if you pull out the sd-card?

Hi there,
i did a terrible mistake and don't know what to do right now. I was using a CustomROM and updated the wrong file, so the phone hangs while booting. Sadly, i didn't realized that a custom recovery wasn't installed properly earlier. Are there some ADB/Fastboot commands i can work with to "relife" my phone!?
Any king of help would be much appreciated!
This might help... go to recovery then partitions menu then mount /sdcard then connect your phone to your pc should give you access to the sd card so you can load a new rom on to it
I had a very similar problem this evening, which had a happy ending!
What worked for me was Unrevoked 3, (If youre using win 7 x64, and it fails you might want to try a different computer)
Oh and Lee815, unfortunately if he can't access the recovery menu, the option isn't available.

i thought you could always access the recovery menu no matter what you have done to your phone... i had the same issue once where i lost the nandriod recovery & the rom i was installing froze, i had no choice but to do it the way i said
It sounds like the wrong radio for the ROM. Boot to recovery and reflash the correct radio.

Shouldn't be a problem. Do you have a permanent recovery on your phone, like Clockworkmod or Amonra?
Is so, try the following:
-Turn on the phone while holding the back button
-Select "bootloader"
-Select "recovery"
Then just active USB Mass Storage mode, pull over the ROM you really want and flash it. No problem
If the phone is powering on then there is around a 90% chance you can use recovery. And if it powers on at all, your not bricked.
I've bricked my desire, after I installed uvoc 2.6.32 for Sense Roms everything was ok. THEN I want to instal some mod that changes the battery indicator to some circle with % show inside. My desire started to loop after "quietly brilliant" In attack
of panic I've formatted system and boot. now I can onl get in recovery mode. My m8 is going to give it to my operator's for warranty sayin something like "I don't know what happened i get it off the charger and it was like this"
Or maybe any chance to repair at home ?
Sorry for my bad english.
Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so just install another rom!
If not just run an RUU and return it to stock and start again.
I don't think you need to return it to HTC until you have tried a few things.
I am pretty sure this could be fixed yourself!!

Hmm okay I will try something in the evening, when I get back from work.

1. Do you have a custom recovery installed (Amon-Ra or Clockworkmod)? If so, it is possible to access the SD card over USB from Windows. The option will be "Mount USB Storage" or something similar. If you have a custom recovery I think you *should* just be able to flash a rom from there!
2. An RUU is a software update from HTC (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667). Where did you get your Desire? Was it unbranded or did you get it from a network (O2, Vodafone etc)? Also what HBOOT do you have? To find this, power off your device, press (and hold) BACK and press power. It should say HBOOT at the top and have a number beside.
Also, I don't suppose you have an old Nandroid backup or anything?
Stu
same thing happenend to me once, first off all, dont panic
what the guy above me says, do that, plug it in via usb and you'll be able to mount it, then just throw a new rom on there: MIUI, LEEDROID, OPENDESIRE.
whatever you want.
install that zip via the recovery menu and lead a long and happy life

The phone was bought from a network "play" (poland) it was sim free from stock and no sighn of any branding on it.
I will be able to check the hboot version today evening.
I have an "Mount USB Storage" option in recovery. clockworld.zip is on sd too.
I will try to get to sd and install a stock rom (i tried to reinstal the kernal ive dowloaded from xda) but nothhing happens.
It doesnt even try to boot when I press the power key (without the volume down arrow) it acts like I would use the power + v. down)
before I use format boot and format system it was looped as I said before.
First, download this RUU file:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142828_signed.exe
Then, turn your phone on whilst holding the back button and you should get into FASTBOOT. Connect your phone to your PC and then run that RUU. If it works it will reset the phone back to stock

If you can get into Clockwork mod then you can put any ROM you like (Defrost, Cyanogen, MIUI etc) on the SD card and flash that and you should have a fully working device.
Or you can do what Eddy posted above and get back to complete stock (like it was when you bought it)!
stu
I will try that, currently if i choose "fastboot" when turn it on, it just blinks and get me to the same place I was a second before.
Stay tuned for more question in about 4,5h form now :]
It will look the same BUT it'll say FASTBOOT instead of HBOOT at the top...
It boot up ! Thank you all for your help and patience. It was a good lesson for me.
Now I will try to be more mature and careful user.
Thank you again.

No probs. Glad you managed to get it fixed without sending it back to HTC!
I would seriously donate money to someone via paypal if you can help me
Maybe try a stock kernal through odin? Im a NoOB but least if you can get in download mode you know u should be ok, from what ive done and read these phones are hard to brick!
Try clearing the cache in recovery mode.
EDIT: If you're able to provide information about your phone that would help a lot. What model, firmware, apps etc?
did a factory reset via download mode
seemed to fix it
should i get the phone replaced regardless ?
how do i know if it's an internal sd card issue ?

It is not. Probably old firmware problem (my did same thing a few times, though even on newer firmwares).
I'd recommend just to update to latest firmware.
I think I bricked my HOX.
I have custom recovery installed and lots of battery left. I tried to install a new rom (android revolution) and it worked fine, then I noticed that I had lots of left overs on my sd card from earlier installations. So I decided to format it and cleaned /data /system and /cache. The result is that the phone is stuck at "HTC - Quietly brilliant".
Is there anyway possible for me to connect the phone to the usb and transfer the rom files again to flash them?
Or what should I do to have my phone working again.
I have read the guide and I am currently downloading a RUU file, but I prefer not to lock the bootloader > revert to stock > flash rom again.
Please advice,

What is stoping you from booting into recovery, plugging it in via USB and sticking a new ROM on there... Sorry if I'm wrong, don't have the phone yet but seems like what I'd try to do...

Oh, well in that case the only reasonable thing would be to also disable the "erase sd-card" feature also, to prevent issues like this
Woaahh just saw your signature, you got a 4s over the SGS II? (I'm guessing) ohh dearrr
why did you format /system? ROFL thats ur problem right there.
Your only options are
a.) wait till recovery is released w/ USB mounting currently there is none.
b.) obtain the correct official HTC RUU (HTC vendor tool) and flash in fastboot. This WILL WORK but you need the exact correct RUU for your specific build
c) use adb push commands
And btw bricked means the phone is completely dead, you can boot but not in rom

Ok, i got this baby running again. Have to say it was real dead at one time too. No battery left and no possibility to charge. Promised myself not to play anymore with it if I bring it back to life again.
However, I read somewere that I could use the iphone charger to get some batterylife to boot it and it sure worked. Left it on and the next day the light was green on the phone. My face went from to
With full battery I downloaded the 1.29 RUU but it still didnt work. Read somewere else agian that I had to relock the phone again to be able to use the RUU. So I did and it sure worked. Brought it back to stock and here I am again with a working phone in my hand.
I couldnt stay away from ARHD so I unlocked the bootload again, flashed it and customized
Must be real real hard to brick this phone completely!
