Desire bricked?

I was upgrading my SD card copied the fakeflash/clockworkmod update.zip onto my new sd card along with my new rom then put it in the phone and tried to boot into recovery.
I get the standard menu chose bootloader then chose recovery as I have done many times before. But instead of getting the black screen with the triangle with the ! symbol in it it just stayed on the white screen with the HTC logo.
Odd fair enough I did a battery pull and then tried to boot normally but got exactly the same thing.
Ok that's strange put my old SD card back in, but no joy cant boot normally and cant get into recovery.
Is there anything I can do or have I just lost my phone for good?
You just need to put a sd card in the phone (a sd card which u are going to use permanently)you dont need to copy anything to sd card apart from rom and radio before u flash it, reinstall your rom + radio and things should be ok, happened with me when i got a new sd card.
Seems VERY similar to a problem i had. Instead of HTC logo though - mine was on o2 splash screen as it is branded.
Have a look at my thread -

.....it was solved at the end.
If you are going down this route, be aware though you will want an unbranded RUU file and you will lose everything on the phone!
But a wiped working phone is better than a full non-working one!
Good luck

Stuck at Splash screen after failed SD card

My dinc is set up like this:
9.01 radio
.92 bootloader
I flashed a rom and then it said my sd card went bad. Tried flashing another rom and it problem persisted. As a last resort i tried to reformat my sd card with no luck. got an error. I then tried to flash through recovery and did a full wipe (my mistake for doing this) but cant flash another rom since the sd card it bad. When i restart it gets stuck at the splash screen.
I bought another sd card and placed a rom which i know works on it and it seemed to have installed fine, but now when i restart i get stuck at the splash screen like i did before.
Any ideas?
Maybe i need to find the original update.zip file from when i first rooted? My sd card is empty except for that rom i put on it.
I found it. Nope, didnt work. Maybe i need to flash a recovery, though i have none anymore.
In case someone else comes across the same problem, i fixed it.
The sd card was ruined. unable to reformat or anything. Luckily i back up my sd card recently so i transfered everything to my new sd card. Went into recover and did a recovery of an old backup.

Phone boots but stuck on lock screen

Ok, I need some help. I had my phone rooted and had CWMR installed. I installed a custom rom and everything was working great. However, I needed my my sd card for flashing a nook color. So I removed the SD card, copied all the files to my pc, then used the sd to succsesfully flash the nook. I then deleted all the old files from the sd card and recopied the old. I put the sd card back in the phone and powered it on. Now, I'm stuck on the lock screen and the screen just keeps turning on and off. The all buttons and the touch screen are unresponsive. What have I done and how do I get this fixed? If I try to call my phone it goes stright to vm. HEEEELP!!!
Have you tried re-formatting the SD card ?
Tried formatting just now. didn't work. Then i tried flashing through odin, now i have a yellow triangle when i turn the phone on....getting worse by the minute...
Have you tried taking the damn card out?
If you flashed a bootable disk image to that card I'm pretty sure you need the HP format tool (I think it was HP) to format it normally again. I could be wrong, but, I do know that I had a special tool to reformat my SDcard when I flashed a bootable disk image to boot my nook.
That yellow triangle doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, so, chill out. Take the card out and lets take it from there.
Also, if something in your /data was what caused your phone to be hosed and you did an ODIN flash but didn't do a factory reset (or "Calkulins format all" zip is perfect for this) you would have the same problem no matter how many things you flashed to /system.

My desire keeps on USB-bricking...

I had ICS BETA 0.17.1.1 running on my desire for quite some time, and have been very happy about it, very stable!
This morning I shut it down to get my SIM card out and when I tried to boot it up again, it was stuck on the boot screen.
4ext recovery told me my phone was USB-bricked and after unbriking it, recovery could access the sd card again.
But now it keeps on USB-bricking. I even tried to completely reformat the sd-card and reinstall the ROM but it is always stuck on the boot screen.
Everytime when I go back to recovery I get the message that it's USB bricked....
What causes this USB-bricking? Is my sd card faulty?
How can I get my phone working again?
Thanks for your ideas/help...
For the record: the sd card was indeed faulty.
I replaced it with an old one, and now I can flash ROM's like before

Unbricking help

Ok my phone bricked No idea why the last thing I was doing on it was moving APK's to my sd card with link2sd and it rebooted itself then shut off and would not turn back on again.
Well I did the SD trick and got it to boot into ODIN but it kept failing to flash a stock rom then I saw a post by C-nexus about flashing a PIT file so I did that and my phone booted up into the rom but if I pull the battery and sd card my phone will not boot. Its taken me three days to get this far.
Now my Question is what is my next step to get my phone fully functioning again and remain KNOX FREE? My current rom is Moars 9.0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OH and by the way the sd unbricker method works with a 32GB sd card non class 10.
