[Q] Exchange Account sends empty emails - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hello everybody.
I'm on Galaxy S (GT-I9000) and I've GingerReal on it (Android 2.3.4).
The Email app is also version 2.3.4
What often happens is, that my SGS autonomously sends empty emails to contacts to which I sent an email a few minutes before.
It does not happen on every single email, but it is happening tough!
Any suggestions?
What I see in my "Sent Items" folder in Outlook is a second email, which in detail contains:
Date: Wed, 9 Nov 2011 13:09:00 +0100
Subject: BLABLABLA
Importance: normal
From: me <[email protected]>
To: him <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
boundary="--_com.android.email_314577683985361"
Same thing happens on a colleagues' SGS2 on original stock ROM.
Any clues/suggestions will be appreciated.
Ah, BTW: Exchange 2010.
Thanks,
F.

[Q] A very Very! Good Question - Importing Contacts - Experts needed

Hello Friends,
I recently exported some contacts from my old windows mobile phone into a vcard since this is what Google Suggests
So I imported the vcard file into Gmail, and somehow it's
it's put all the contact information into the note field. Perhaps it did this because perhaps at one time I had duplicates of them all and it merged the contact information?
Well all the contact fields are blank except the note field which looks like this
CreationTime: 7/15/2010 10:43:53 AM
FileAs: John, Doe
Importance: 1
LastModificationTime: 7/15/2010 10:44:12 AM
MobileTelephoneNumber: +15555555555
ReminderTime: 1/1/4501 12:00:00 AM
SelectedMailingAddress: 2
Size: 1576
Subject: John Doe
So the problem is when I sync up my contacts with my Evo only the names are listed because theres no phone number in the phone number field it's just in the notes field. And so when I compose a new text message and search for a contact none pull up. I can go into "people" and see the names but yea thats about it.
Please help I haven't searched diligently and I haven't found any solution to this problem.
Any thoughts or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CipherFX
Never seen a recommendation to use a Vcard. I exported to a CSV, and everything imported perfectly.
You should import a csv file to gmail, that should def.ly do it for you.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
+1 to everyone else here. I used csv as well and had little problems. I already had some contacts in gmail and had dupes, but gmail also has an option to remove dupes for you.

[Q] How to Convert Outlook to Lotus Notes?

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to convert Outlook emails or contacts (PST to NSF) to the Lotus Notes 8?
Thanks
John
Hi John
I will suggest you to use Outlook to Notes Software to convert Outlook (.pst) to Lotus Notes (.nsf). PST to NSF converter software is easy & quick to Convert Outlook to Lotus Notes.
I have used this tool a week ago and able to convert all my MS Outlook email folders (Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts, Outbox, Deleted Items), email properties (to, cc, bcc, attachments, sent & received dates), calendar, tasks, contacts to Lotus Notes. You can Download the software from the following site: outlooktolotusnotes.com, psttonsf.org
PST to NSF rocks!!!! Hope you will also get the best results. All the BEST!!!!!

Considering this is the subforum for accessories for the Artemis, this has nothing to do with it.

[Q] Email app formatting problem

Hi
I use my rooted Epic 4G with my work Exchange account. Every time I send a message, it looks like an HTML bomb hit it: when you look at the message using Outlook it is full of HTML <br> characters, and the details of the message that I replied to are mixed into my signature.
Can anyone recommend an alternative e-mail app for the Epic 4G that still works with Exchange push e-mail and contacts, or perhaps a setting I can change in the normal e-mail app that will solve the problem?
My e-mail program is version 2.2.1 (from the wonderful ACS 1.1.0 ROM).

I have 2.3.4.1 from midNight ROM v5.2. Attached here. Try that one and see how it works for you.
Thanks, I will try that. Backup first
The Email app should support HTML email just fine - your Exchange server might be poorly configured. Give K9 Mail a try.

[Q] Spam to an XDA developers address

Has anyone else received a spam e-mail to a dedicated xda-developers account?
I got the mail below to an account which was created in 2004 and not used since (except to a XDA member's gmail address a few months ago, so it could be on his end)
Here's the slightly obfuscated mail:

Nah, never seen any spam originating from XDA's use of my email, afaik...
I know that I get some spam, but I use this email more recently on lots of sites, and most probably isn't strictly spam...
I have seen addresses get spam randomly though... One I have never even used, let alone given out, received a spam message Either magic, or an auto guesser...
I have an xda e-mail address the I only use for xda, and it's never had any spam.
Dave
There have been a couple of reports of this and we are looking at it. However, although the email addresses are on our database, they will also be stored on Users PCs and mobile devices. Pinning the leak down to a particular place may be difficult.
I got one of these yesterday. The only place this email address might be stored would be in Tapatalk on my phone or tablet...

Hmmm... Do you use the email anywhere else? You could try "plussing" the email address if you use gmail. If you then get spam to the address with +xdasite or whatever, then let us know.
I have little spam to my email address. OK I get some automated stuff, but gmail spam filter catches it, and I never even see it. But I give out the address and I know I've had contacts who got viruses... So their address books are probably public domain for spammers
Edit: I also have a catchall on a popular and active domain name, including the no-reply address. So any bot registering will get an address that reaches me... I don't look at the spam, but it's one or 2 per day maximum, and not from related to XDA that I know of
I have a catch-all address on my domain, so [email protected] gets sent to my primary inbox. Therefore, I have a unique email address for every site I visit. The only site that gets [email protected] is this one.

[Q] Email issues "unnamed.dat"

We use Communigate for our email server where I work. It behaves like an Exchange server. Whenever a message is forwarded, it is sent as an attachment. This is no problem when the person opens the email in Outlook, Thunderbird, or the web interface. If they try to open it in the Galaxy's built-in email client, the message comes up as an attachment "unnamed.dat" and the device doesn't know how to handle that file.
I've done some testing and tore apart a number of messages trying to track down the problem. It seems to stem from the content definition of the email (specifically, "Content-Type: message/rfc822").
Here's one of the raw messages I'm trying to send.

Everything is readable until the "Content-Type: message/rfc822". In my email client, it shows the forwarded message as an attachment with the name (test7) which is the subject of the rfc822 message...
Is there any way to make the mail client read these rfc822 messages? I can't believe the only people with this problem are in my company...
(Also, this same problem happens with iPhone users. But that's for another forum.)
We had these issues before with our 2003 exchange server, but we ended up purchasing bulk licensing for touchdown, and it has no issues with emails as attachments.

We've tried Touchdown with the same problems. Also RoadSync.
