Battery life?? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Can people please tell me the ROM they had their best battery life on. Please tell me AOSP or sense, hours it was running without charge, and what kernel used. Your replies are much appreciated. I love you, community. Lol

CM7 and MIUI both with tiamat 1.1.4 got around 36 hours straight with medium usage ( google music streaming 30 min a day, lots of texting, and general tom-foolery.)

Was CM7 a nightly or what version? I'm thinking of using that over the weekend.

Battery really depends on the Apps you use and 20% kernel.
Ocing over 1.3 is useless.

Use miui with go launcher or lpp.
Gives the same performance with an amazing polished look...and the system apps are amazing..

I prefer Sense, so I don't have any AOSP or MIUI experience to really compare battery to, but from all the Sense ROMs I've tried, and I've tried them all, is either SkyRaider with stock kernel, or NEWTs Incredible Sensation, those both give me amazing battery life, anywhere from 20 hours to 2 days depending on use. I delete all social apps, and many others.

I have had best battery life with cm7 with tiamat kernel
OC1.8 lagfree using bt music 4 hrs, wifi streaming pandora for another 6 hrs, 10 am to 4 am still had 12%

I'm thinking of doing running CM7 with the ICS theme on it to make sure I get amazing battery life for this weekend while I'm gone. Either that, or I may just continue to run Newt's DINC2HD and turn it off every night and find somewhere to plug it in.

That's a loaded question. It can depend on the ROM and kernal. The kernal is the main culprit. Also, depends on whether gps, wifi are constantly on. Its not an easy question to answer.
---------- Post added at 09:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:02 PM ----------
I'm running miui 1.11.4.1 with areoevans .7 kernal. I'm good for a day an a half with minimal use. However, i keep gps and use mainly wifi. I find standby to be really good with his kernal. I can go hrs without draining the battery on standby. Today, it lasted 15 hrs, but i played a couple games and used gps nav. Also, i talked for 2hrs on the phone. So i think that's pretty good.

CM7 v 7.1.0.1 with Tiamat kernel v 1.1.5 is getting me great battery life. I woke up yesterday morning at 8 and I still have 20% battery. OC'd to 1.2 GHz and using smartass v2 governor.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App

Often times battery life is affected by rogue...poorly written apps. I'm using that inc2 hd now and the battery life is good but without the daemon. I just went in and adjusted values in init.d
I haven't tried any aosp roms yet.
I think as long as you can get 13 to 16 hours its fine.

With light to moderate usage -average around 30 hours running RMK's GingerSense rom, WiFi mostly on & GPS usually on (as low as 18 to 22 hours, enough reserve even for an extra long day.)
SR's Zeus 1.1.1 ROM - varied from 30 to 50 hours, depending on WiFi & GPS settings, but again, as low as 15 to 25 hours, especially if Maps/Nav is ON.)
Mobile adapter/charging is fine when Maps/Nav is OFF, but will be draining faster than rate of charging, depending on the charger's ratings. Tried to keep minimum widgets open & running in background, email checking tuned to longer intervals when not pushed, and brightness level usually below 50%.

New Dinc user coming from a DX. What's the best Rom & kernel for battery life

As the post states I'm coming from a rooted dx. I had pretty sick battery life and I know I'm going to take a hit on the dinc.
I've tried a few roms and haven't done much with kernels. Any suggestions or tips so I can make it through the day.

Aosp roms are supposed to get better battery life and I like the invisiblek kernels I'm sure I typed that name wrong but I'm on my phone.

I've tried just about every Rom out there for the incredible and I've found that the Super-Z Rom with the included Ziggy kernel is hands down the best Rom. The battery life/battery charge rate is absolutely outstanding. Additionally, the Rom itself is the fastest I've tested. With it slightly overclocked you can hit mid 1800 benchmark scores. Needless to say, this is my every day Rom and I don't see myself changing for a while. Probably not until I get a new phone actually.

I Just lou's senseless rom with this #4 kernel. a whole day with heavy use, and 2 with medium use
Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 with the ziggy kernel that comes with it. Heavy use on the stock battery from 8:30 am until 6:30 pm and I'm at 66%
Thanks for the suggeations. Are you guys using the stock battery. I was using a few today and the battery went from 90 to 45 in just a few hours of playing around. Are there any special settings that i should stop. Ive also read about underclocking?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm on the stock battery. It's a stock flash of Warm RLS5, except for the transparent titlebar mod and the Warm3 boot animation. It's truly excellent.
No lie, OMGB 6 and invisiblek 28 are awesome on battery life. Only problem is some apps aren't compatible with Gingerbread yet, so if you use a lot of emulators, then you might want to go with MIUI (better than most imho).

Evo battery life....

Ok, I have an evo, running fresh gingerbread rom, and.....the battery still blows, i have tried most if the popular roms and was not impressed, i have set cpu as well, i dont see any change, im not really that good at this stuff so can somebody PLEASE hook me up with a method to make my phone last a day, roms, kernals, set cpu profiles, anything.....thank you all greatly
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
If you are on 4g, wireless tether, playing roms, texting, and making calls, then don't expect the phone to last more than 5 hours.
First thing you need to do is start off with a fresh rom... pick your favorite so far.
Reboot
Install kernal (I like tiamat for AOSP or Netarchy for Sense but I suggest you try your own)
Reboot
Install undervolting script
Reboot
Open Google Talk>Settings>uncheck automatically log on then log off google talk
Install SetCpu
If you don't really game or anything then lower your voltages to 125 min 700ish max (you can be more aggressive if you want, but I wouldn't)
Charge phone to a 100%
reboot into recovery
wipe battery stats
Use your phone till it dies
Recharge
I think you will now have a strong phone that can last a good day depending on how you use it
If you still want to increase your battery life after all that
Lower brightness
lower the updating frequency of stocks, accounts, etc
make it a habit of turning off radios when not in use or install Juice defender
Create profile in SetCPU to lower CPU when screen off
All really good suggestions above...
but sometimes it could be just the battery it self... if all else doesn't work try another battery. The previous stock battery was horrible for me even after trying all the settings and etc. Once I got a new battery and did all the setting changes this thing is ready for anything.
What rom are you using? For the best battery life with a rom like cm7 I recommend using an SBC kernel from tiamat 4.0.2 SBC+ and give it a few days to settle in...then when your battery is low around 20% or less charge it for at least 4-6 hours while phone is sleeping..then turn off your phone while plugged in and charge for another hour..then unplug til green light goes off then plug in again til light goes green REPEAT 10 TIMES! then turn on phone while plugged in wait 2 minutes then unplug and battery is improved...do it every time you charge it from low %... this is for SBC kernels...also follow what the others said above me... I use an extended battery on conservative running it at 245 and 768 its been 12 hrs and I'm at 71% with moderate to heavy use...hope this helped
midget tossing is habit...2010 midwest regional champion... hw 001

Try Evodecks 1.0 or 1.2c... Very nice and everything works on it... I'm using Tiamat 4.0.2 w/ sbc, its been 23 hrs and still at 59% thats moderate use though! But just search around and eventually you'll find something that suites your taste... MIUI is also a good rom! Just my 2 cents...

Battery life is horrendous on aokp b31

OK just flashed aokp b31 a few days ago and I gotta say, holly battery drain Batman. I have a HTC extended battery and on stock unrooted rom I would get almost 2 days of light usage out of it. Now with aokp b31 I've had it on light use for the last 2 hours and I went from 100% to 85%. Anyone have the same prob? If I can't fix this, it will be reason enough for me to switch roms.

Wiping battery stats has more or less been debunked with regards to "improving battery life" - https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
I will say that AOKP doesn't get as good as unoffical, but I thinks its do to the theming in AOKP. I have the weather app in the lockscreen and I have it set to refresh every 30 minutes. Anyone now how stable the power saving feature is in the ROM Control? I wonder if it even works with aero's kernal.
I've noticed my battery life to be bad only when my wifi is on. I have it set for 'Always On' so I know that may be why, but I went 2 days every time I was sick at home with wifi set to 'Always On' with the stock, Andy Bonestock ROM. Is it HTC's kernel? I had the same issue with OMFGB, too. Could this be the culprit?

Poor battery life with juggernaut 5.0 & darkside v1 kernal

its been 3 days since i rooted my phone for the first time due to battery life issues. the first day my phone lasted for 10 hours. after a full discharge and full charge I've been experiencing horrible battery life again on medium usage. only getting 6 hours of battery life. what do you guys think would be the cause of this??? everybody is getting better battery life and mine seems to be horrible still. I don't have any out of the ordinary apps running either. do you think i need a new battery?

I have never found juggs to be a battery friendly ROM. It's a power ROM. Better for gaming, shooting live video etc. If you want the 15 to 20 hour battery some are getting then switch over to darksides ROM DIGITALWARFARE. It's powerful enough for gaming just not like juggs.
Also usage plays a roll to. If your gaming for 4 stright hours don't expect the phone to last that long because no phone will. Running Juggs with darksides kernal is kinda doesn't mix.

Download 2x battery from the market, it's done wonders for my phone and i use it with any rom i flash. Not to mention i ran that same setup for quite awhile and the maximum time out of a battery i've gotten comes using juggs 5 and v1 darkside kernel.
I'm running Juggernaut 5.0, with Eugene's Streamline kernel. I'm getting about 17hs. I'm also OCD, so I play, and tweak every setting possible. I game a lot, and usually get about 6-8 with that. It depends on a lot of factors though. I agree though, it's kind of an oxymoron to use Darkside kernel with that rom. They kind of clash.....I guess you could say, as far as battery goes anyways. I had the same issue when I used that kernel. Just my experience anyways. There's a lot of setups you could go with, so. Best to just test everything once, till you find your happy place.

what are you using? are you experiencing poor battery life as well?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Your battery life also depends on a number of other factors as well. Do you have animations on or off? If they are on, turn them off. What brightness is your screen? I turn mine all the way down. How many widgets are you running? I don't use widgets. Is your phone constantly syncing with Facebook, Twitter etc? I only turn my sync on for Gmail and Google. Is your GPS on? I have mine off at all times. Do you stream a lot of music/videos? How many programs do you have running in the background? I make sure everything is closed or off except for the programs that need to be on. If I need to use a program/app I will open it, I don't need it constantly running shortening my battery life. Etc Etc.
I also recommend using the app Juice Defender. Yes it runs in the background at all times, but, it greatly improves battery life. I use it all the time and it's fantastic.
I typically have my phone on for 15-17hrs a day and by the time I go to bed I still have over 50% battery left. I am currently just on a stock ROM and not Juggs, but my results with Juggs were around the same as well, even with the Darkside Kernel. Peace

+1 I don't use juice defender on my device since I am happy with the battery life I get so far. However, I have Juice Defender on my wife's SGS2 with custom settings and her battery life has improved a lot. Before her phone would only last 10-12 hours with moderate use. Now she gets over 20 hours with the same usage.

[Q] Increasing Battery Life of CM10.1

Hey guys...
I'm currently trying out CM10.1 and I'm loving it.
As its better than any other cm based roms like PA, Pac man etc
I'm really disappointed from the battery life, it drains so quickly
I tried NEAK kernel but it didn't help, can some one help me out to get good battery life out of cm10.1?
Thanks in advance.
I use carbon rom and neak kernel and i get about 22 hours with 5 hours screen on that's the best aosp rom i have seen for the battery
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I got 10 hours on average(Which i guess is ok)when I was on Cm 10.1. I used to set CPU to about 400 MHz when I was just listening to music but 200mhz when it was sleep. It was a hassle to do but it did help.

Im curious aswell. Im running cleanrom ace 4.9 and im getting around 1day 12hrs with 4 hours screen on. I want to move away from stock again but can never get more than 16 17 hours on aosp.

I heard devil kernel is pretty good with battery on AOSP, also try downloading greenify from the play store. It take apps that constantly run in the background that aren't in use and hibernates them. I'm a heavy user of youtube and radios and I get around 20-24 hrs. But on light days I get over a day. I'm currently using ProBAM
The most I could ever get was always 5hours screen time and thats after using Greenify, Droid wall and uv/uc with slimbean, carbon and pa. I've heard of some people getting upto 7 hours on aosp but they never seem to share the setup, most likely in airplane mode though. Ultimately battery life was always an important factor for me so I reverted back to tw roms. Sad.
