Hiya, I Bought XDA-Developers App from the market place to show my support of the site.
and i dont use it much but its ok, anyways i recently got tapatalk for free of GetjarGold and i noticed its pretty much exactly the same as the XDA app but you cannot add other forums.

How are people getting around the US postal address thingy when registering????

This works for me on a UK sim-free SGS2 without modifying build.prop. Awesome!
works for me too
downloaded and installed with root explorer
I can also confirm that the netflix app works editor having to edit the build.prop file.

Google for fake identity generator. You will get all data needed real address, valid credit card, fake email you could read etc

I installed it with out being rooted or using a third party app. I just went to the files folder clicked on it and it installed, and it works perfectly.

Nope, I pay for mine and it's only just bearable. I'll be moving to a paid sub to StrongVPN when my current period ends.

I installed a couple of Office Suite from Amazon Free App of the Day on my phone. I am wondering which one is the best for the Nexus 7. I can download other free alternative if it is even better. Thanks!
List of Office Suite that I have from Amazon:
OfficeSuite Professional 6
Quickoffice Pro
Documents to Go 3.0
Or should I go to a free one?
I like quick office pro, and I think I remember them being bought up by Google docs or something like that not too long ago. I can't remember I'll have to do some searching.

I have Office Suite Pro that I got for free.... so that's my only choice.
I used Polaris on my old transformer and I liked it. There is a really good comparison between the various office apps some where online. I think someone from the Asus transformer forums did it.
Some allow you to only read and not edit. I can't see really having to edit or create documents on the go, but I guess some people do. As long as I can open them, I'm good. Since you have access to them all, won't you simply try each one and tell us what you like better?

I have always used quickoffice pro on my 10" tablet, and I installed it on my nexus 7 and it works great. I also got those three office apps from amazon, and quickoffice pro seems to be the least buggy

CloudOn is one of the best office apps I've seen, although you need to be on wifi and have a box, dropbox or Google drive account (or all 3) as it only reads from cloud storage. They match the office ui almost exactly and have support for Excel, Word, and Power Point docs. Also it only works on tablets.
Sent from my Nexus 7
QuickOffice Pro HD is great, though you'll need to pull the APK off another device, it doesn't think it works on the N7.
Which office suite would be best for a student? I'm looking at Smart Office 2. Anyone tried it? I believe its on sale now for $1.98

Quick office HD.
Think it shows not compatible in the play store, but it works fine.
You can link it to all your cloud storage accounts.
It has really advanced features that mean you can create documents as if they have been made on the PC.
I think quick office were acquired by Google not so long ago but I might be wrong on that.

I have no idea how this is free. It's as full featured as the $15 apps. There are no ads or other bloatware.
Another vote for KingSoft, It's brilliant. I paid for it when they used to charge.

I like king soft but its very laggy. Anyone else ?
I posted a thread exactly like this and the general consensus was Quick Office Pro HD. I got off Amazon since it doesn't show up in the Play store. It works awesome, integrates with Dropbox too.

Would any one be so kind as to post a copy of the the " Bank of America for Tablets" apk? It won't allow me to download it from the market.
Something just feels scary asking for a Banking app on a public forum. Its extremely easy to tamper with it and give you a malicious version... I'd watch out with requests like this.

I understand the risks and appreciative your concern. I am not planning to log in. Just trying to test the UI with Nexus 7. I do check to see who it is coming from (reputation). Thank you though.

I've been looking for that app as well :-/

Can someone post current version. Also to address safety concerns if you have safe pass enabled for every log in no one can sign in without a code being sent by text to your phone... So kosher...
Are there 2 separate versions? I have the BOA app on my N7 it works great. Is there another version besides the one I got on play store?

Yeah there's the bofa app for phone and one for tablet. Tablet let's you use myportfolio and has some enhanced features. The app available in the market for the n7 is the phone app.

I found this link
https://www.bankofamerica.com/online-banking/android-tablet-banking-app.go
Where you're supposed to be able to email it to yourself but ive done it twice and it wont work. Why does the Play Store link say our devices aren't compatible when we're using tablets? Lol
Edit: T_T got the email, it literally just links direct to the play store again. What a waste of potential.
I'm also looking for the current APK. The older one linked here installs fine but unfortunately BoA has updated their app so as soon as you try and open it the app sends you to the market for an update and since the N7 isn't compatible, won't let you download.

This kinda sucks, just picked up the new model nexus 7. This is my first tablet, and I was kinda excited to see the difference between tablet apps and phone apps. Both American Express and Bank of America won't let me download their tablet versions. American Express won't even allow the regular mobile version either!
The CNN app for android tablet is not compatible with the N7. I found an apk in the Viewsonic G Tablet thread but I'm not sure what version it is and that info doesn't seem available in the app either. Here's the original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13048857&postcount=9
Does anyone have a current version to share?
Thanks!

Want this bad!! its crazy- cnn for phone isn't compatible either, what are they thinking I mean the nexus 7 is the most popular android tablet (with market) and they have no support for it.
also the economist app has the same issue.
I had emailed them about this months ago and this is the response I finally got:
"Greetings,
Thanks for contacting CNN! We appreciate you taking the time to send in your suggestion for the CNN app. I will put this suggestion into our mobile development team for consideration.
Regards,
Dave

I don't mean to sound overly critical but... why not just use RSS? Ever since Google Reader, I no longer understand why anybody would prefer to manually open each website to check for news, when Reader does that for you...

This is actually a far better idea: I tried side-loading the CNN app off of my Galaxy SIII and it looks terrible. You're better off reading the articles on the Web through Chrome or through an RSS reader such as Paper.

There is a cnn money tablet version that does feature news(can configure what news you get. Albeit it's a bit more focused to the financial side but delves into other news topics.

just got an n7. like it a lot but one thing is confusing to me... why do some(actually, a lot) of the tablet specific apps in the play store show as not available to install? example... bank of america has a tablet app but i'm forced to install the phone one instead.
am i missing something obvious?

Search these forums for phablet, Google's odd solution to the bigger than a phone but smaller than a tablet interface. In some ways you get the worse of both worlds instead of the best. The search will turn up all sorts of info on the way folks feel about it.

Google for a app called lucky patcher. It can patch play store. Never used it myself. So backup your device.

You can just search here at XDA for a useful thread that provides various special versions of the Play Store. You can install one that will force everything to be for a certain dpi value or to ignore dpi or many other options. I have a special version on my Dell Streak that I got from here.
