[Q] Desire Z won't recognize any MicroSD cards! - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Looking for some help with my Desire Z, it suddenly stopped reading any SD cards. I've tried with multiple cards, verified them to be working on other phones.
It's running:
Latest CWM
ROM Manager v4.4.0.7
CoreDroid ROM
Here's the info from the bootloader screen:
Code:
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.02.01.15_M2
eMMC-boot
Sep 8 2010,15:56:38
I've tried using the:
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
and then
fastboot oem eraseconfig
method to see if that would fix the problem, but fastboot just hangs saying:
< waiting for device >

I also tried going back to stock using the RUU installer but it reboots the phone to the screen with the silver & black HTC logo, hangs for a bit on the 'Waiting for bootloader.....' message then gives this error:
ERROR [171]: USB CONNECTION ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot connect to your Android phone. Please check that the USB cable is connected properly between the PC and your Android phone.

Click to collapse
As well as this my phone does not show up in My Computer & I am unable to set USB mode to Disk Drive as the phone doesn't think it has a card.
Any ideas on what I can do before I bin it and buy a new phone?
Thanks.

Do you already check the driver for your device? Maybe need to reinstall the driver. Try to reinstall the htc sync.

Don't think it's a driver issue as nothing changed on the PC and my GF's Sensation is working fine on it.

Amy result if u perform adb devices? If no devices detected, check usb debugging & just try to reinstall the driver.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

All ADB commands are working fine.

HTC Desire CDMA completely formatted, won't install RUU / doesn't show in ADB devices

[solved using the following RUU: http://goo-inside.me/bravoc/ruu/RUU...Radio_2.15.00.11.16_release_168495_signed.exe + the factory Google SDK driver. I solemnly ask of any CDMA Desire user to please download and save in a safe place this RUU]
Guys,
I completely formatted my CDMA Desire (don't ask) and now I'm on the

None of the 3 RUU's for the CDMA Desire work. All give me the Error 130 - Model ID incorrect, use a correct RUU error (I've previously succesfully used RUU's, but I have gotten this before.)
I used to have Oxygen's Gingerbread ROM in there.
ADB devices shows nothing. I have Windows XP. In Control Panel, I got Android USB Devices - My HTC on there, says working properly.
Tried to push recovery using fastboot commands, says Failed every time.
Changed USB ports, I guess I'll keep changing, as that's been the trick from time to time...
Any ideas? Been at least two hours searching and trying, would love some input...

Drivers??

I have an Incredible that is stuck on the HTC incredible screen. I can get to hboot with the following info:

I have tried doing the PM31IMG.zip of both the Gingerbread and Froyo images, I have tried to reload hboot-92 using the same format, all tries have ended up with a message that says "no image or wrong image".
I am now trying to do a RUU, but windows does not recognize the phone. When you plug the phone in, it recognizes it as Android 1.0 but it cannot find a valid driver. I installed HTC sync from HTC's website and I tell it to use windows update, but neither of those finds a valid driver. I have tried the above method on Windows XP SP2, Windows 7 32bit, and Windows 7 64bit with the same outcome.
Any suggestions on either a valid driver or anything else to try to get a working phone?
Thanks.
*edit* I also have tried doing a factory reset from hboot, that does not help either.....

I just went thru this process this morning using ruu from:
http://pvillecomp.com/wp/wp-content...15.10.07.07_NV_1.70_release_210643_signed.exe
you may try power phone on while connected or before connected to computer. I had same recognition problem and one of these options solved issue.

Thanks.
But a new issue arrived today. Shortly after I posted, I decided to try different micro sd cards and I found one that when I put the img file on it, it actually recognized the image. Which I thought made me in the clear, I used the gingerbread image from the pvillecomp.com site. When it loaded the image and installed it the radio failed but everything else passed, then it rebooted when it was done, except it didn't really reboot it shut down and now does nothing. Can't power up, can't go into hboot, and it doesn't even show it is charging or it recognizes the usb when plugged in.

Device not found in ADB

Hope someone can help me
With my HOX I am not able to work with adb. Whatever I try it always says device not found.
I installed en re-intalled and re-installed again and again android sdk, checked and double-checked everything, like java, usb drivers etc with sdk-manager.
Installed it in c:\android-sdk
In cmd I can use fastboot commands but no adb
'fastboot devices' shows me my One X
'ADB devices' shows me nothing
Other ADB commands says: device not found
I cannot get it to work, used different usb-ports, used different usb cables, and yes I am on fastboot USB
I'm in windos 7 x64
Someone can point me in the right direction??
Thanks in advance
Did you check on USB Debugging in Developer options?
If the phone is in fastboot ONLY fastboot commands will work. ADB commands work when the unit is turned on and booted into Android and you have USB Debugging enabled...

The easiest way of getting ADB to work:
Turn your phone OFF (Yes, off)
Connect it to your pc and wait for windows to finish "installing the drivers"
Try ADBing by going to ure fastboot folder (assuming it has the ADB executable inside the folder as well).
You could check if your device was recognized by firing
Code:
adb devices
If it doesn't show anything then do the following:
Grab the appropriate pc drivers from here: http://www.android-advice.com/2012/how-to-root-the-htc-one-x-and-htc-one-s/
Extract the drivers
Now go to Start menu and right click on my computer and then click manage.
Now go to device manager and there you should see your connected One X listed as being without a driver.
Right click on that entry and select 'update driver'
Now tell it that you have the driver on local disk and then browse to the folder you extracted.
Update your driver.
Disconnect and reconnect the device and try ADBing again.
Should work.
Thanks rajitsingh , Ill try this.

Tmobile HTC One M7 bricked?
So I did something pretty dumb yesterday. Installed the HTC Sense 6 update on my HTC ONE M7, hated it so decided to root my phone to revert back to Sense 5.0 or 5.5 or potentially try a custom ROM. Downloaded a Tmobile 4.3 JB RUU, downloaded android SDK, HTC sync manager, Fastboot. I unlocked boot loader, installed Wheaton recovery by Koush, installed SU, figured phone was rooted but it wasn't. Now I've somehow succeeded in deleting EVERYTHING. Phone continues booting into recovery. Commands using Fastboot aren't recognized because it cannot find any device. When plugged in via USB, PC recognizes that something is plugged in but that's about it.

[Q] Can't fix the USB-brick on Desire HD

Brief description of the problem: Somehow got a USB-brick (phone as a USB-device not recognized in the PC, and do not switch into HBOOT USB mode or FASTBOOT USB whe connected to PC)
Device / model: HTC Desire HD
Operating System and Firmware: Android ICS Sabsa Prime 7 (custom roooted, unlocked through htcdev.com)
What was done: Tried to go the way of brick recovery through 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0'
Ran into a problem: because of PC does not see the phone, respectively, it can not install the HBOOT-driver (Android Bootloader Interface Driver) on Windows 7 x64. Well, as a result, without the driver I failed to restore the usb-brick.
Please help to recover from a brick! Maybe there is another way recovery?
+1

Stuck on locked bootloader with s-on

Bought phone off of ebay, the incredible 2 is stuck on bootloader, i cant recover/factory restore, bootloader is locked and s-on, and computer recognizes it as a unknown device, although HTC sync recognizes it as an unknown htc phone. I've tried multiple times to load a few RUU signed stock roms, but nothing happens when its done loading in hboot. Do i have any options left or is it dead?

Just tried it, didn't work. My computer doesn't recognize it, says its an unknown device so i don't think i can do anything with it via usb. Although HTC serial interface pops up sometimes and when i click on it, it gives me driver details:
HTC Serial Interface (COM7)
Driver Provider: HTC corporation
Driver Date: 11/1/2013
Driver Version: 2.0.6.24
so idk if that's anything..

Are you on windows 8.? Win 8 has problems with adb. Try in a win7 machine.
