Hi!!
I've been using ROM Manager since it appears.
Today I've tried lates nightly release of CM6, and now, when I try to restart into Recovery From Rom Manager, all I get is the Red Exclamation... I've tried to reinstall recovery, but is the same...
Any Idea?
Thanks!
i dont think you have updated the clockwork recovery to the latest version have you? also did u install the latest radio?
Yes to both.
Either, i tried to install a previous version of recovery, and still didn't work.
when you get into the screen with the phone and the red !
press vol up + power button together and then let go
a blue screen will appear
go down to apply update.zip and press the power button
you are now in clockwork recovery.

Perfect!! Thanks a lot!!!
(It was an un-updated version (2.0.2.4) but it works!!
I am on CM6 Nightlies and I flashed the Gala S Theme. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Is there a way to nandroid restore without a computer?
Thanks.
This is what I can do with my phone to get into recovery on the fly
Assuming you are fully rooted with Nand Unlocked (Toast Part 1 & Part 2 or the equivalent using simple root)....
1. Turn your phone off
2. Hold the volume down button, then press and hold power
3. A white screen will pop up, wait for it to finish, then navigate to recovery using the volume down button and press the power button.
4. You are in recovery!
This works on my phone, if you get the Android with an exclamation point after clicking recovery from the white bootloader screen, I am almost positive you will need a computer.

ohh, i guess i'll be needing a computer since i got the red exclamation inside the triangle, right?
thanks for the reply.
If you are fully rooted then the easiest and fastest way to get to recovery is via Rom Manager, there is an option to boot right into recovery. This takes the less amount of time. Once in recovery there will be ab option for Nandroid then the back and restore option...

He's in a bootloop...rom manager isn't available.
Have you tried pressing volume up and power at the red exclaimation point? In the older versions of Clockwork Recovery, that was required to get it to load. (Which recovery were you using to get the nandroid in the first place?)

Rooted my friends incredible with unrevoked, have S-off, and can boot into recovery, but once there when I try to select any of the options in CWM it just comes up with the hat logo (rom manager logo) and stay there, I can go back to the CWM menu, but can't do anything, so end up having to do a battery pull, I have tried different recoveries and version of CWM... any advice? Thanks!
What button are you using to select an item in recovery? If you hit the power button it will come up with that logo screen, you should click the trackball to select an item. My only other sugestion would be to flash amon ra recovery instead of cwm. Also if you are flashing your recoveries with rom manager try flashing one thru hboot instead.
I was using the power button! Thank you!!!!!

No problem also pressing the power button a second time will bring you back to the menu from that screen, no battery pull needed.
I make that mistake ALL the time with the dInc. I'm so used to using the buttons with my Tbolt I don't even think about it...... until I look down and the phone is looking back at me like "Hey... Idiot... I can stay on this blank screen ALL DAY long!"
deleted, because I'm stoopid.
deleted cause I'm dumb
I think I put this in the wrong section. Whoops! Please move it, I guess if it should be in Q&A.
volume up -> recovery, volume down ODIN. Hey at least I know how to get into ODIN! ha ha.

I'm having a problem with my E4GT. I was trying to prepare for the upcoming OTA by cleaning things up and making sure I can do the full factory data reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, after the install of the OTA in the recovery mode (power button + volume down on boot up).

That's because you get into Recovery by using volume UP + power button. Download mode is exactly what you did, volume DOWN + power button.
Get out of download/odin mode by just doing a battery pull. Just make sure you aren't trying to flash something at the time.

Wow, I'm retarded. Sorry for the waste of time.
I thought that I was no longer a noob after having rooted and used custom ROMs on my Desire Z and Nexus S but the Xperia Play is (apparently) very different.
My device is rooted with Doomkernel and I was under the impression that this would also give me CWM. So I booted with power + vol+, no CWM. Booted with power + vol-, no CWM. Booted with rommanager -> boot into CWM, no CWM.
I'm on .69 by the way.
What am I missing here?

Thank you good sir!
I think Auto-CWM might be interfering, because the back-button isn't doing what it's supposed to do.
