Hi,
Do you think it is possible some Galaxy Note applications using pen to be adopted for Galaxy SII? For example I have tried S memo, it starts but after that force close.
Perfect question
The apps themselves could be ported but the s-pen won't work with our device. The note has a special touchscreen not manufactured by samsung or at least noy developed by them.

Are sure about this pen thing?
Pen's can be bought that simply work with a touch screen like the S2.
I tried to simply install the apk's from an original rom on my S2 with MIUI, but it did not work, gave me : application not installed.
Even when I copied the TWLauncher30 to /system/app I got no way to select the launcher, so I guess porting is necessary or I am missing dependencies.
I am very much interested in the note app too.
If anyone figured it out I'd love to know it.
I guess something has to be done for the screen resolution coversion, perhaps similar work that was done on the virtuous rom, that ported sensation resolution of 960 down to 800.
One might ask those devs ?
About the S-pen not working I'm sure. From my understanding it was made to work with that specific touchscreen. About the apps I tend to believe that they will work once ported but not with the S-pen. I know you can buy specific pens for capacitative touchscreens but that's not the same.
With all this said I somewhat do believe in miracles, especially seeing some of the devs in action, but I still doubt the S-pen will work with our screens.
Again this is only my opinion and understanding so far. Feel free to prove me wrong.

S Memo is from Diotek- Diotek has an App called DioMemo in the market, it is a little bit like S Memo (but not with this quality and all functions). Look at

BTW, S Memo is in the Market too: https://market.android.com/details?...c.android.widgetapp.diotek.smemo&rdot=1&pli=1

Do someone know if HTC keyboard from Rezound or One X have been "exported" from Sense to install them on other phones?
The because is that HTC Ime i found are not working on Galaxy Nexus, i think the cause.is the 720p display that is not supported by older HTC keyboard.
Do someone know more than me?
Or maybe they don't work because the galaxy nexus doesn't use the sense framework?

Previous HTC_IME on Sense ROMs worked on non-Sense ROMs. It just requires a little bit retweaking but it shouldn't be too difficult to do. Not saying that I'd do it because I don't know how. But I just know that on previous versions of Android HTC_IME works.
HTC_IME
If you want to try porting guys here is the HTC_IME extracted from my one x.
jonasl's HTC_IME Keyboard for ICS works great for me. The only problem is the keyboard is low res. It looks a little blurred but it's full size. I tried replacing the pngs with some from the htc rezound which should be 720p but I'm a noob and it just crashes. I'm sure I have to edit some config files somewhere... I'll keep trying but here's jonasl's apk. Perhaps I'll try the ones from the one x.
any luck with your attempt at replacing pngs?!
Yes, I would love to get a working version of the current HTC OneX IME keyboard. Please make this happen.
Count me in. First thing, I was thinking about, when I held the One X in my hands.

Thanks. I want the One X keyboard ported to any 720p Android.
Bumppppppppp
You realize that any keyboard from the one x and rezound are already completely 720p? That's not the problem, the gnex isn't the only 720p phone out there. It's not working because sense is a ***** when it comes to porting anything from it to aosp. It requires a lot more work than I think most people would be willing to do. But it sure is awesome keyboard, and I would love it on both my phones when I get a gnex. Typing with it right now...well, swyping with it actually.

I also tried this one a little while back and it's awesome but it would not let me change to the compact keyboard style which I like on the older HTC ime keyboard. The one with two letters on each key. Maybe I did something wrong or that feature has been removed but I will try it again, thanks.
Edit: it's the same one I tried before and it's awesome but it doesn't have the option for the compact keyboard. Thanks anyways.

XDA Developers, Cooks, Themers, & Tweakers:
Is there any way to get the Touchwiz UI from the SGN & SGS2 4.0.X builds running on the I9300? I've tried simply carrying over the *.apk, but that doesn't work. I suspect that's because the *.apk requires additional resources (Touchwiz framework, libraries, etc.) from the SGN & SGS2 4.0.X builds in order to run on the I9300. If anyone out there has any experience with things like this, I would very much appreciate your help. I'd like to see last year's Touchwiz UI running on the I9300 relatively soon, so please, help me out.
Thanks in advance for anyone who helps.

so vice versa...when trying to port S3 UI to S2, the entire framework had to be resized to 800X480, the native resolution of the S2, so I believe that you would have to expand the S2 UI from 800X480 to 1280X720, which would typically cause regraded resolution?
thats my assumption as to why it would be very difficult to do...from S2 to S3.

While using the Touchwiz UI from the SGS2 presents this problem, the Touchwiz UI from the SGN does not. As it's resolution is 800X1280, only minor changes would be necessary. Truthfully, I believe that the resolution discrepancies are of little concern compared to the missing framework components that will also need to be ported alongside the Touchwiz.apk. If anyone out there has had experience with this, we could really use your help.

I went on a similar quest a while back, since I find a four-icon dock more aesthetically pleasing, but ended up giving up on it when it turned out to have the same reloading issues as TW5. There are ports that work, but - naturally - I've deleted all the files I downloaded.
From memory, I would suggest looking for a single apk (Rather than apk + lib files, as there's quite a few ports) that was ported for the Galaxy Nexus. All the resizing has already been done, it's just a drop in /system/app deal. Most of the ports I found just force-closed, though.

Or will they still work in nova launcher? (obviously still on a Sammy rom, not aosp)
Thanks
You obviously still can use all the features with another launcher, you just have to use stock apps (video player, email, gallery, dialer ... etc)
To make use of spen features, you only need those tw frameworks. You may use spen features on any launcher provided you have those frameworks.
And as you said,it will work on Sammy based roms only.It won't work on AOSP,AOKP roms as they lack tw frameworks.....

As others have mentioned before, you can use any launcher.
But for the S-Pen functionality, you need to use the stock apps provided by Samsung.
You "might" lose out on some of the functionality, if you change the launcher. This is just my guess.

Thanks, to be honest I doubt I'll use the s pen too much anyway, just want the big screen - I find my s3 too small!

For apps that support pressure sensitivity it will work just fine (take a look at the note 10.1 forum for some examples), but I THINK you still need to be on a TW based rom. I'm not sure though, too bad I no longer have my Note 1 to check it.
i ordinarily flash straight to pure aosp from whatever manufacturer paint job the phone comes with (sense, touchwiz, blur), but after watching the hands on video i may actually stay stock with the note 2, my only reason for switching from stock on my gs3 was ICS/big red not pushing out JB, but the s-pen functions look so good.

There's already plenty of options for Pop-up play like the one on Galaxy devices. I've tried most of them and Dice player is my favorite It has a simple minimalistic UI and supports most videos.. Someone has also port Sony's Small Apps into our devices. You just have to flash the correct zip mod according to your rom and you're done. About Multi-windows, I'd really like to see someone port them to our devices.. Someone can at least create a rom with cornerstones that have conditions to prevent end consumers(not us modders) from using it as the implementation could ruin the app's size or sort.. I don't know much about the techie stuff but Google banned 'cornerstone' due to the fear that many people might complain about apps not working and being glitchy..

Try GMD gesture control, had feature support for alt+tab and numerous other app switching features and other gestures.

Multi-Window is going to be an extreme challenge. It's like HTC Sense, too manufacturer specific. It took months just to port a ROM to the T999 with multi-window. I don't see it happening. The Optimus G's "multi-window" however, is definitely a possibility.
Personally, i don't feel like you need "multi windows" on phones, maybe phablets bridge that gap.
Multi tasking though for sure, check out apps like, glove box, pop corn player, Super floating video player, and sidebar over on the play store

I have not yet seen in any forum successful porting of note 3 or s4 camera onto note2. Many folks are asking for the same hopefully Devs will do that as they have already ported many apps from note3/s4 to note 2 . If there is some hardware restriction then we wmay never have it.
