Copilot is really good !
It is a offline navigation!

Sygic is pretty good. It has some accurate maps.
Cheers,
I think Motonav is the best one.
no, motonav is complicated and stupid, CoPilot is the best offline navigation

Hello,
I know it’s a long shot, but I thought I'd ask if anyone know the best solution for getting any Navigation or GPS maps going on the Touch HD/Blackstone for Morocco.
I've looked for Tomtom and igo, but neither do maps. I am looking into Garmin mobile XT, but not sure if this will help me in a car?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
James
NDrive has a 7 MB-Morocco map, and it is touch-optimized for the HD. Not as feature-rich as the competition, but it does the job.
http://www.ndriveweb.com/products/product/7/
But you could also check Morocco roads on Google Maps first, and then consider Google Navigator, a PDA product not associated with Google, but providing offline Google maps with turn-by-turn instructions for your PDA.

Thanks - very helpful! I will try have a look at both

just in the process of setting my Desire up.
Can any one advise how I configure it to allow me to use it as a Sat Nav with turn by turn directions etc..
Also how do I get UK & NZ Maps ?
how fast will it be finding satellites compared to a TomTom ?
My old Nokia N95 8GB took ages !!
Thanks
Hi Albert
If you want to use Google maps for navigation you'll need the brut modded maps for NZ, the normal maps will work in the UK though. I didn't find the google navigation particularly handy though so i got Navigon which is great. The maps are installed on the SD you you won't need a data connection all the time. There's a 30 trial and if you don't get the full license you'll still be able to use it in the country you first registered it.
Connecting is REALLY fast! I've even connected while i was inside away from the window (not all the time though)
btw...comparing it to TomTom, i noticed i love to be able to see nevigation in portrait mode where that isn't possible on TomTom ofcourse. Portrait mode will give you a much further view of the road compared to landscape view.
Thanks
Are there any other decent free sat nav options for the UK & NZ. ?
you don't happen to have a link for brut maps do you ?
Thanks again
Get Nav Launcher from the Market. It will install brut maps for you and everything else.
Thanks I'll try that..
Last quick question will I need to find the UK & NZ maps or does this do it all ??
Google Navigation uses online maps - you need to have an active data connection, though I believe it is supposed to cache maps when it calculates a route.
Unless you've got decent data plans in both the UK and NZ, it probably isn't much use to you.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks
Any other options ?

Free options? No, not in my opinion. Google Maps Navigation is the closest free navigation app to the paid offerings, but I still believe it isn't as good overall as something like Copilot.

I believe there's Navigon, Copilot and Tom Tom is coming soon.
There's also AndNav for free from the market, Waze and I believe Wikitude now does Augmented Reality Directions.
I have no experience in any of these applications though.
There is also this:
http://www.mapdroyd.com/
But I'm not sure weather it does turn by turn or weather it's just offline maps.
thanks.
I'll look at all the apps suggested.
download copilot from android market and if you dont like it uninstall it within 24 hours and you wont be charged. I have tried them all and I find that copilot is about the best app out there for android, however their customer service is extremely slow, took about two weeks for them to answer a trouble ticket. however app is very well priced and it is an excellent bit of kit.
Thanks I will take a look
I am new to android which is giving me many choices for navigation. What is the best navigation software android has to offer? I prefer Garmin but there is not an app for it.

Google Maps navigation is in my opinion the best. also sprint nav isn't too bad, but google is better.
Telenav for Sprint seems kind of dodgey on all the devices I have ever used it on. I will try the google one thank you.

is there any navigation program like igo8? which doesnt require any 3G data download connection to load the map?
cause in malaysia, the data download cost is ridiciously high.
CoPilot Live is what you're looking for (I use it, nice). It's in the Market, and the whole U.S maps are on special for $4.99. Sweet deal.
Check out their site for info on maps of other locales.
Navigon had an Android gps app but they pulled it sometime ago.
Forgive My Brevity. To Be Or Not To Be...
I used MapDroyd when I went across country. No data connection at all in the deserts.
MapDroyd is good!!! but they doesnt give me navigation to the destination..
any more suggestion?

anymore suggestion? i used to use iGO8(crACKED) on my omnia and diamond2....
also im in melbourne(australia) and Kuala Lumpur(malaysia) often
I've tried co pilot, and Igo and they are all slow at responding. I find google maps work very smoothly and does everything u need.

So you're looking or warez then or something free? Dude, there's always Google or Yahoo or Bing.
Otherwise, CoPilot Australia details are here http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/travel/copilot-live-australia-nz_boqf.html
or
Ndrive might be your best bet as they have maps for both Australia and Malaysia (Asia and Oceania) here http://www.ndriveweb.com/products/product/7/
Hey ppl I just upgraded my defy the new CM7.1 official, now I'm looking for a GPS software to use here in brazil so, good brazil maps are important to me.
can you guys please give me your thoughts about what GPS should I use?
Also, I saw some ppl saying that CM7 does not support A-GPS is that true?
Thx in advance and best regards.
of course it supports A-GPS... as for maps, im using Google Maps and its working fine where i live (remote village of North-East India), i dont know about brazil...
In my opinion, there's not a real good gps app for android yet.
In my case, in Argentina, I use Sygic, Navitel (you can adapt Garmin maps to it) or Ndrive. Each of one has it pros and cons... try them!
Cheers,
Lucas.

Wrong! Igo works on Android and IMHO is the best navigational SW ever! For Motorola, it's called motonav You just need to upload content and license in a folder called motonav on your SD card, then get the motonav.apk and install. Just did it a few hours ago. Works like a charm.

I don't find any difference.
I use latest Sygic on my CM7.1. It has 74% Argentinian road network coverage ATM.
Hello Everyone!

Thanks for the answer!
I managed to install and run sygic, but it got stuck during initialization. (that's the result of "not compatible"?)
Does Ndrive app, have updated maps of the Middle East?
don't know for middle east, sorry maybe you can try with the navigation programs on the samsung store, the free ones...they use maps from openstreetmap and so they are free and quite recent and updated!
