it works well, haven't had a chance to do a full discharge/charge since I'm using it all the time at work. battery monitor widget reports that full capacity is indeed 1800mAh though
Great I'm going to buy it next week

Initial impressions on the batteries and charger...charger is cheapo at best, takes a few hours to charge a battery.
I fully charged the battery, ran the battery calibration app, and used the phone normally. For some reason, the initial day of the battery being used drained more than usual, and I'm now on my 2nd day.
So far, the battery is pretty much similar to the stock battery, in usage. I'll monitor the battery drain for a few days and see what happens.
nice find!
Just ordered myself, so hope they are decent batteries..
So far I've noticed pretty much similar drain as my stock battery, so we'll see how it works out in long term. For now, it's nice to have a spare battery or two.
$20 on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hyperion-Sp...808791?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f1052e957
Seems like somewhat mixed reviews on Amazon (low sample size though..)
Ordered mine few days ago. I'll give it a "review" once it's in, which they say should be either this Friday or sometime early next week ;-)
Going on a few days now, the one weird thing I noticed is that if I powercycle my phone, the battery drops significantly, and then climbs back up. If I look at the battery usage monitor, there is a downward spike, like dropping off a cliff, followed by a rise up a hill.

I've seen that on my stock battery.. Happened a lot on starburst. I don't think I've seen it since I've been on calkulin (couple weeks)
Got to take these for a spin at Disneyland. Sprint service doesn't work for **** there by the way. They life of these seem comparable to the stock battery. The only bad thing I've noticed is that the charger can't charge a battery and power the build in usb port simultaneously.

I've had this happen with these batteries as well, but not the stock battery. I seem to get better life with the stock for sure. Not overjoyed with these at all, but for the price and convenience you really can't go wrong.

Yea, since the stock battery goes for $25, I can't imagine 2 decently reviewed knockoffs being SO bad that they wouldn't be a good value for the price of 1 stock
Yep, all things being considered, I'm happy with the purchase, and don't mind carrying the spare battery when needed.
got mine saturday; so far, the batteries seem just fine, but the charger that comes with them six..had a battery plugged into it overnight, and, took it off, and it was only charged 65%..
but, as others have said, 25 bucks for 2 batteries is hard to beat!
Went ahead and ordered Anker 2x1800mAh + charger for $20 shipped:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053F1SRG/ref=pe_175190_21431760_cs_sce_dp_1
They're for original epic, but are reported to fit (other thread in here).
From what I've read, anker seems to be widely used and relatively respected, so I felt better about them than hyperion.

I purchased the Sieidio Battery 1750mAh on Amazon about a month ago. This battery is not worth the money at all. If you want an extra battery then I suggest buying an OEM battery.
I might be wrong but I think this battery actually goes down faster than the one that came with the phone. My biggest problem with this battery is that it does not fit properly in the phone. It can just be set down or place in my pocket and that is enough to make the phone.

But this battery works way better than the stock battery that came with my EVO. It ****s on the stock battery. Diarrhea.
Maybe it's just because I bought it for $50 from Best Buy. What a bargain!

I got two 1800mAh batteries for about $30, and experienced the same thing. After awhile though, I realized that you have to do a few things to get better battery life.
1) Charge the battery to full while the phone is on.
2) Unplug and plug back in to verify that the phone is fully charged (green led)
3) Turn the phone off
4) Unplug, plug in, and wait for a green led
5) Repeat that 5-10 times
6) Then while still plugged in, reboot into Recovery and wipe the battery stats via the advanced menu.
7) Reboot, and use your phone as you normally would.
This may sound like alot, but it really only take about 5 mins. Even after wipe, it will still take about 5 full discharges to reap the better battery life. Hope this helps!
I think its just luck of the draw on aftermarket batteries (the cheap ones at least)
I have heard good and bad on ALL of them.
I got the Chichitec/htcexpress 1800 batteries with charger. Came in the other day and I couldn't be happier. 14 hours on initial charge, that's unheard of for me. On my stock battery I had to keep the phone plugged in most of the day at work just to still have juice by the time I got home. And supposedly these things start acting even better after a few charge cycles.
(Fits with stock battery door too)
But for every person that has a good experience with any of these companies, there's someone else with a horror story.

Could have told you that before you bought it, ratings by aftermarket reputable companies are close and never accurate...if they rate it at 1750, it's probably 1500-1650... The stock is 1500 so yes you wasted your money. Now on the other hand, the 3500 is the best investment anyone could ever make....
It's been proven long ago seidio over rates their batteries. The "1750" is actually just under 1500, so less capacity then the stock battery.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
just terribad in my opinion, gonna stick to my seidio 3500. rather have the size and life than a small size and a measly bump from the 1750mah battery
They rated it less than a 1500 stock battery.
Key with extended batteries is that you actually have to charge them longer than your phone indicates.
Example: I phone said it was fully charged at 3:26am in the morning. Yet it continue to charge until at least 6:45am before it was constant. Granted I am using an SBC kernel but even without, you need to let it charge the night. Don't let the green light fool you. It takes a few extra hours to charge even if the led light is green!
You should just about fully drain your battery and then let it charge overnight. If you aren't on an SBC kernel you may actually want to charge your phone while it's off so that the battery dictates the charge.
You should also wipe your battery stats once the phone is fully charged.
Try that and see if it works for you. I know that I was getting great battery life even on the stock battery. I play "Word With friends" (at least 15 matches running) a lot (at least 15 matches running concurrently) and this game actually drains battery. I still got through the day fine though I also carry a Touch Pro 2 and having the batteries that are the same size allows me to swap when needed.
I have the 2650mah one from sprint and my 3500mah seidio coming in the mail tomorrow. I'll probably write a review for it later. Note, On my 2650mah, it's already on its 12th hour and I was was playing WWF, surfing the web, made several calls and it's still at 77%. I will leave it off the charger tonight and see how it fairs tomorrow.
Good Luck!
I have tested these and if they do last longer then stock, it is only like maybe 20 mins. I have an external charger as well as running the SBC kernel to get a complete charge. I have the sprint 2600 battery as well and love it. Not many cases for it but I have modified a sedio rugged and ballistic to work with it. I let my wife use it for a few days in her evo and had to fight to get it back from her.

What is the difference between the batteries in our phone and the 9003 ? Mugen has a 1600 listed for our phones.
Let us know if it fits . Thanks .
Oh sweet man please let me know how it goes. I am either going to do that or get the nice big fat one with the stand
I just bought a generic 3500MAH battery for the Vibrant off Amazon for $15. No regrets so far.
You can get the Momax 1700mah battery for $17 from ioomobile or $19 from ebay. Both with free shipping
I use an original vibrant battery in my i9000 too so the momax will fit the vibrant/i9003.
Please, tell me how are your results. I want to have a battery with more capacity but using the same back case.
Just waiting on its arrival now. I looked into other brands, but kept finding massive amounts of negative reviews, like the Momax battery.
Like from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478270
I actually had the Touch HD version, which worked perfectly fine for me Which was why I had no issue buying it for the i9000. I have been getting around 40 hours from light/minimal usage on the MIUI.us rom. I am getting around 30-35 hours on the standard i9000 and vibrant batteries.
I also bought one of the cheap 3000mah ebay batteries but didn't have any luck with that. I was getting around 45-50 hours but after a few recharges it dropped to less than the original battery.
I firmly believe in "you get what you pay for" however I have to say I have not had any problems with the momax battery so far, touch wood.
Was it delivered? My battery is worse every day even with Bi-Winning v3 with Bullet kernel. It dies too quick! Using WCDMA with HSDPA is the same as seeing my battery % going down realtime.

There are a couple things you can do to stretch battery life without too much compromise.
First, go with a black background. There's a free app on the market that's easy to miss. Do a search for blackwallpaper, all one word. AMOLED screens love darker colors when it comes to battery usage.
Second, get a 2g/3g toggle and switch to 2g when you don't need data and are primarily just texting or playing games.
Pick up the Bali-X kernel. Lots of battery saving goodies in there. Afterward, pick up SetCPU and reduce the voltages as far as you can without getting crashes or "sleep of death" issues.
Now, even when gaming, my battery isn't too stressed, and when I left it off the charger overnight, after 9hrs it had burned through a miserly 4% battery.
Finally, get a retractable usb data/charging cable. Can be had for a penny plus a couple bucks shipping. Retractable means easily pocketable, so whenever it occurs to you, break it out and connect your phone into whatever PS3, TV, Computer, or Laptop is available that has a USB slot.
The battery hasn't arrived yet. Supposedly takes as much as two weeks. I'm waiting with baited breath!
Woohoo! The battery has arrived and is on the charger as I type. Will have photos and whatnot after I've gone through the initial charging and discharging.
What I can say for certain is that the I-9003 battery fits perfectly into a standard Samsung Vibrant. No issues whatsoever.
Thanks, dude, for your info! I would be going to the shop to get one if you review it positively. I think I will have the "Purchase" button under the mouse arrow!

Funny quote from the second review, "These third party batteries come in two flavors – one without an extended back cover and another one with a back cover, which usually adds a couple of inches thickness to the phone."
Could you imagine if it was a couple of INCHES of thickness? It'd be almost as thick as it is wide
Doing a battery drain test now. Had my phone's screen on nonstop for 2hr30min, and the battery is down to 84% (though probably slightly inaccurate still). Will see how it fairs after I've charged and discharged it a few times. No, not from 100% to 0%. From 100% to 20%. Don't want to kill my battery.
Day 2, barely used my phone today, and it's at 84% with 18hrs of time away from the charger. Screen on time of only 16 minutes. The battery is definitely lasting longer, so I think I can safely say that this is a legitimate 1700mah battery. The real test will be how well it works after a few weeks, though I have high hopes.
I've just ordered mine! It won't ship until august, the 8th.
How is it going with your battery? Doest it last noticeably more?
Enviado desde mi SGH-T959 usando Tapatalk
Just lasted over 48hrs on one charge with light use. Mostly texting and some very brief gaming and market updates. Wifi and bluetooth were on the entire time. I'm definitely seeing a noticeable improvement in battery life.

Added link to the battery and website. I feel like the 1700mah is a little conservative on their part. It feels like I'm getting more battery than the rated 200mah difference would allow. Anyway, loving the purchase, and no issues so far. Will keep everyone posted if it suddenly bursts into flames, or bakes me a pie.

Don't bother. I have that same battery, it's crap. It barely lasts longer than the stock battery.
Ive been seeing those batteries around at local cell shops. I really dont feel too cozy with buying batteries like those. Wonder how good the quality is on them. My friend got one similar on ebay a while back ago but he regularly switches over from that one to the stock battery for some odd reason.
Yeah they are okay and will last you longer then your stock, but life wise they will live a short life and be prone to overheating and possibly even exploding. That price sounds like its to good to be true only because it is. Spend the extra money and get a sprint or seidio battery which will actually last you.
I got one of those, has to go through 5 charge cycles before it has the added kick... I don't mind the fact that it is a cheap one, all I care is that it lasts longer than the stock one... if it has a shorter life than the $50 ones, I don't care, I can just buy another one.

Getting worse and worse after each charge, no barely lasting the day. Has same problem as stock. As soon as you pull it off the battery charger BAM, down to 98% then downhill from there.
Anker FTW!!!!
They make great quality batteries.

How heavy is your use? And are you using a external charger or via your phone?
I would think you would be getting better life than that, What was your use on the phone?
I was wondering how many people got these on sale(12 bucks on amazon) and what results they got.
Ive had mine through a couple charge cycles now and im not impressed at all, doesnt feel like its doubled my battery life.
Im at 80% after 2 hours, with only 16 minutes of screen on time. This might actually be worse than stock. The battery summary doesnt show any major drain from apps, and go launchers running app list doesnt show anything out of the ordinary either.
Im running Faux 0.9/Juggernaut 4.1/Litening theme
Im not sure what else I can do, battery is draining ridiculously fat.
It could be just be a defective one. Some custom roms dont recognize the batter stats properly as well. Try exchanging the battery for a new one and also try a different rom. Also try Wipe Battery Stats in clockworkmod recovery.

Hmm, thats kinda scary, would reflashing a rom from scratch fix that?
Also, google has stated wiping stats does nothing, thats a recent development.
As for exchanging, its from amazon, it took 3 weeks to ship this one to me lol.
It might be defective, it did take 9 hours to charge. 3500/650 should be ~ 5.3 hours, but maybe this is why it was on sale for 12 bucks.
Yes, the myth was that wiping battery stats improves the overall battery life but I was not saying this in hopes of improving it. I was just saying to see if it will correctly display how much battery life you have on your rom because one time I had a problem where my battery life stayed at 100% and after wiping it it correctly displayed how much I had left.
If it takes 9 hours to charge then I think its very likely that you do have a defective one. Rechargeble batteries tend to show that kind of symptom when you charge it often without letting it drain first. Try completely draining your battery below 10% and fully charge without stopping (dont pull the plug). If the battery life is still the same and it still takes around 9 hours to charge then I think its safe to say you do you have a defective one.
Also, please double check that the particular battery that you have is compatible with SGS2 Hercules model. Look at the battery information and compare it to the stock one. Make sure the voltages match.
I flashed Mr X's kernel, since Faux has been off since 0.07 for me.
When i charged it last night, it was from 0%, and it took around 3 hours to reach 34%, so im estimating the 9 hours based on that.
The stickers on it say 'Replacement for Hercules T989' Li-Ion 3.7v, i dont have my stock battery atm so i cant see if its the same, ill check that later.
I find it faster to charge using the usb plug converter instead of off the laptop using the usb cable. If I were you, I'd just use the stock battery until the new one ships in. I believe that's your best bet.
I may not even seek a replacement. It was 12 bucks, shipping would cost half the cost of the battery, and it would take them 3-4 weeks to ship another. The original order took 3.5 weeks to be delivered.

I was excited to get this battery thinking that it would atleast give me one and half times more backup than the original. However, the backup i'm getting is not any better than the original battery. I will see for a couple of more days and if it is still same, i'll move back to the original battery and keep this one as back up. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

Most cheaper priced batteries out there engage in false advertising. Don't believe the mah numbers you see even if they are the same as the stock oem battery. Its cheap for a reason just like the fake micro sd/flash drives for sale at Ebay. There are also shady vendors in Amazon who pump up their own ratings by leaving positive reviews especially the "ProdiCell" cell phone battery brand. With the exception of Seido and Muge, I would only stick with Samsung oem batteries. The Samsung Nexus extended oem 2100 mah battery is really good for $24.99 (50% off 49.99 at the Verizon store). I do see the extra 14% life. I went 34 hours the other day on stock 2.3.6 before my phone died. I actually ran 30mins of video at the end to run out the charge.
Ill try this out with synergy, since faux i heard was a drainer, and if no luck ill stick my stock battery in and continue to use my ballistic case. Ill also give it one more day.
Never tried an alternative battery till this one, and if im gonna go bulky again ill get that 3900 mah mugen, since that appears to be the real deal.

Gonna wear it to a club and see if it lands me a date.
Alright so recently I purchased the Anker 2050mAh battery. It's compatible with the T989 (Hercules) and I727 (Skyrocket). It fits in the standard battery cover.
Like my previous Anker batteries, this one arrived with 66%. I used Juice Offender to drain it to 0%, and then fully charged it.
I later used it moderately throughout the day and it lasted about 16 hours. 4 hours on 4G and 12 on Wifi. I DON'T have screenshots though. By moderate use I mean quite a lot of texts, IMs on Facebook, checking Facebook every half hour, about 30 pictures taken in 8MP resolution (without flash), a few quick calls with Google Voice, a bit of web browsing, about 30-45 minutes of gaming, and a few YouTube videos streaming on 4G in high quality.
The next day, I used it on a full charge. The screenshots are attached. I used it moderately/heavily this time. About 3 hours on 4G and 10 on Wifi. More texts, IMs, pictures, 6-7 minutes of HD video recording, streamed more YouTube videos in high quality on 4G, an hour of gaming, some web browsing and dictionary use, and 2 very short calls. As you can see in the screenshots, my phone was awake quite a lot.
NOTE ABOUT THE SCREENSHOTS: The battery isn't at 81%. It really died, and when I put my stock battery in, the battery stats continued (which is really strange) so that's when I took the screenshots. If you look at the chart you can see it went all the way down and then a sudden rise up to 81% at the very end.
Note 2: When Wifi was on, I was using Wifi calling, so the phone signal was turned off.
Note 3: This is on rooted stock ROM + stock kernel, with almost all bloatware removed.
[url=http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0078WR4KW/]Here you can save money by buying two batteries + the universal Anker battery charger. The charger can charge almost any smartphone battery by lining up the metal contacts properly. It can take power by plugging it in a wall outlet or by a USB cable connected to a PC or wall outlet. It can also charge a phone by connecting a micro USB cable from it to the phone. So you can charge two batteries at once.
Awesome,thanks for the review!
This is great.
I used Anker 1900mAh for my sensation and it significantly increased battery life compared to HTC battery. Hope this battery does the same to my T989!
Update: I just bought one. Will try it for few days and update here on how it works!

I'll be watching this thread. I've been wanting to get this, but this is the only review I've found so far.
One thing that caught my eye is that Ankor says "Keep the battery power between 5%-95%", but i like to plug in my phone/battery and just let it charge while i sleep or whatever. I wonder if my habits of just letting it charge until i unplug it will negatively effect the life of the battery.

This is great.
I used Anker 1900mAh for my sensation and it significantly increased battery life compared to HTC battery. Hope this battery does the same to my T989!
Update: I just bought one. Will try it for few days and update here on how it works!

Things become abnormal when too overly do. I suppose this is the common rule.
Some batteries may not have the "overcharge protection", and if it is not protected, battery life will be shortened. And for me, even if the battery is protected, I will still use it with care.
whoever tests this out, can you guys also use DISPLAY ON TIME and VOICE TIME if you use that. (2 main factors)
What type of usage did you get with the stock battery? At that price I may pick one up.
I'm running an aftermarket rom and tend to get that already, but I'm not too sure what stock debloated is capable of with the normal battery. it's Amazon prime too, so i might order it tonight and see how it does this weekend.
EDIT: Damn, or for $10 more a second and a charger. 2 of my immediate family use this phone.... hm....
Further edit:
would this one fit?

Thanks for posting this, just ordered a pair.
Looks promising.
I got about 23hours on one charge off these batteries

Is it worth it for the extra 200 mAh?
And in the description for the batteries, Anker says:
Using Tips:
- Keep the battery power between 5%-95%.
- Avoid overcharge and over discharge. Please stop charging when the battery is 100% charged.

Should we maintain batteries like this because I heard otherwise?

Dude, it says right on the product description:
Same size as standard battery. Do NOT required to use bulky back cover.

Thanks for the rude response, but that wasn't the question
The question is will that battery fit the T989. I see the original battery linked says it fits the i727 and t989, but this is listed as the i727r. I don't know the variants of the skyrocket well, if at all, so my question is will the one I linked fit our devices.
I have it and it fits. Comes with funny English......also ignore signature I am using t989

Damn if it's certificated I'll pick up two.
bum protection too!
helps with bum outbreaks as well. on a serious note it seems to work just as well if not a little bit better than the stock battery. can't comment much on use because i have been flashing too many ICS roms

That appears to be the same one I linked to earlier (but listed specifically for this phone at a higher price).
looks good
but i think with my anker as a primary, a charged oem battery as a backup, and a powerskin ready to snap on I should be ok with power... just wish there was an easy way to tune down the auto-brightness on our devices. ive seen roms with it built-in but not sure how
ORdered one thanks for this OP
Woah, nice find man! Im seriously thinking about buying a second battery now. how much is the battery percent increase? 5-10ish%?
