So I have successfully rooted my Xperia Play 2.3.4, Now, I want to go back to 2.3.3 for the SWEET PSXperia, is it as simple as just finding some kind of file or is it more complicated than that?
Yeah, just flashing back to the previous firmware using flashtool should work. FYI, Yifanlu said Psxperia should work with 2.3.4 when it's next updated

Does anyone have Android 2.3.3 for the Neo, if you have a flashed and rooted 2.3.2 and update it OTA to 2.3.3, your phone is bricked. I already have NEO-GLOBAL-3.0.A.2.181.ftf
Just use Wotanserver, it's free for now and works perfectly (did it myself a few days ago).
I will try to root my phone tomorrow. Have been busy all day rooting and unlocking the bootloader, but after flashing stuff 8 times or whatever, I ended up again with unrooted and relocked phone and again 2.3.3. Even bricked it sort of (only flashing worked), so I've learned a lot.
But I will NOT re-unlock the bootloader, only rooting. Does that really require flashing 2.3.2 (.181)?
@sdk16420,
Yes, you will still need to flash 2.3.2 if you want to root your phone using Gingerbreak.

In that case, this thread can be removed, also as mentioned before 2.3.3 is available at WotanServer...

you can flash 2.3.4 firmwares {ftf} again via flashtool to downgrade..!!
Sorry for the noob question but can i use flashtool to downgrade back to GB even if my bootloader is lock?
Yes, but you can downgrade to 2.3.4 only. You will risk damaging the fuel gauge(0% battery problem) if you downgrade to an earlier version.
Yes, using flashtool flashes the stock kernel/firmware. If your bootloader's unlocked you could use pc companion to repair the phone if the official ICS isn't available in your area yet.

Where can i get 2.3.4 generic for all regions?
Actually since you upgraded to ICS doing the repair via PC Companion will detect that you have the ICS version on your smartphone and will download, wipe and install the ICS even it if the ICS update is not available in your area.
I know because I did a repair job because I want to wipe it clean with a fresh install of the ICS and I am happy with it. So it will not repair and install GB 2.3.4.
As commented flashtool and download the GB 2.3.4 on here to downgrade.
where can i download generic ics ftf file?
I have the r800x version of play and now it won't find update for 2.3.4 from 2.3.3. How do I fix this?
From the many reviews people have posted, you're not missing much
Yea, seriously man don't waste your time..it's flawed terribly thanks to Verizon. You're better off with 2.3.3 for now
Ah well I was trying to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507280 because I have a locked bootloader and I can't install any ICS rom. I like the look of it but if I install 2.3.4 nandroid instead of manual update on a stock kernal the wifi/camera doesn't work... Is there a way to install wifi maybe doomlord on 2.3.4 with locked bootloader?
Hi, I'm very new to this forum, and I'm not sure if this is even the correct place to post it (please tell me if it isn't) and I'm also new to all these rooting/flashing stuff. I have an unlocked bootloader and a rooted phone and I want to install CM9, but apparently the latest release has a baseband (72) for ICS 4.0.4. So is FXP127 still compatible with 4.0.3? If it is, which baseband do I have to use?
And if it is not, how do I get my phone updated to 4.0.4? I've heard stories about people bricking their bootloader unlocked phones through PC Companion/update centre, and I don't want to be the next. Do I have to flash the fw manually then? And can I still use the stock kernel?
Thanks in advance!
You can directly go with FXP127. You're replacing the entire ROM. It doesn't matter what you were using before.
Just follow the instructions given to the T and you won't face any issues.
Don't use PC Companion or SEUS when you have an unlocked bootloader. Use Flashtool.
If you're going with CyanogenMod, then use the supplied kernel.

Hi
My xperia play is currently on jb 4.1.2 (paranoid android rom 2.57.1-wedges with the turbo kernel) and very nice it is too,
I however want to restore it to the original uk stock rom that allowed games to be played etc so i can sell it as i have bought an xperia t.
Do i just use flashtool (Using the guide in the general section) and install the original GB stock rom 4.0.2.A.0.42 or is there anything else i have to do / beware of / Will this also flash the kernel back to stock. I am assuming that the turbo kernel wont work with a stock GB rom.
Thanks

Worked fine, the only issue i had was the phone wanted to update, but it kept giving me a message in pc companion that it could not update as it had been modified, I unrooted it and tried again same error, so tried a full flash again with the .42ftf, same error again. Finally reflashed with the .62. ftf, its not trying to update anymore. I think there is a problem with the root as it says its not rooted anymore but flashtool says it still is
Now to work on my new xperia t.
