hello everyone
i am looking on the internet for Xperia play spare parts. basically i got an xperia play for cheap, but got ripped off by the seller. the SD card reader slot doesnt works (opened the device up and the thing is broken) and the 3.5 mm headphone jack gives no audio whatsoever (phone doesnt even detect a headphone plugged in). I've looked up and down for those two parts, and i found only 2 websites that offer them, without shipping to my country . If anyone knows where i can get those two parts, or someone is stripping down their xperia play to sell for parts, please post it here.
thanks
I assume the seller doesn't accept returns then? If they don't, then probably either find someone who can receive the package then send it to you, or keep searching for a seller who could send it directly to you. You probably thought of it already, but those're pretty much the only options I can think of. Might help if you let us know what your country even is, too.

Verizon has a SIM Card slot, its just not used. They put a piece of plastic in the slot, like a fake sim card almost to cover the opening, but you can easily pull the plastic piece off. Not sure what effect a verizon board would have on a phone that isnt verizon though, such as you might have to have the SIM Unlocked.

If you are wanting two numbers to go to your phone Google Voice is the best option out there.
Thank you, but I just want to use my phone overseas when I am there, and at the same time be able to use my current USA T-Mobile sim (through Wifi.) Right now it's a hassle having to power off, take out battery, and swap sim each time.

i don't know how two SIM cards would even fit under battery of this phone it's pretty dang tight.
I found this
http://www.simore.us/us/compatibilites_200_T-Mobile_myTouch-4G_5871.php
I don't have one but the prices are expensive for these? I too would like to have a dual sim card adapter.
Then it also says this
The T-Mobile myTouch-4G has not yet suffered full compatibility tests

I'm guess it's really bad engrish for " we have not tested the MyTouch4G with this product yet "

With most dual sim adapter you would have to cut the sims. There are some that dont require cutting but the adapter would be dangling from the phone, which can be concealed with the case (the special scratch protector case.)

Yeah, I also found this (before I posted the question here.) It means the myTouch 4G is not fully tested for compatibility. If you look at some of the other phone models, it would say something like "....fully tested and compatible..."
I was just hoping to see if anyone ACTUALLY used one of these for the myTouch 4G.
Also I read really bad reviews on Simore. About the product not working and can't get a refund. So I dont think I will try them.
Hi all,
As anyone ever tried dual sim adapter on our phone?

I have never ever seen an Android phone with a dual sim... But I want to
this could be very functional. and could save a lot of time switching cards.
there are a few dual sim android phones like http://www.fonearena.com/blog/33946/motorola-xt800-dual-sim-android-phone-review.html
but only 550mhz cpu...
all the dual sim androids are gsm+cdma
sadly these dual sim adapters cant do dual sim standby....
meaning u cant call or recieve calls and sms when u select the first sim on the second sim

Check out Motorola XT800. Its dual SIM (GSM+CDMA) phone, but too expensive for its specifications.
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_xt800_zhishang-3073.php
EDIT: unreal3000, didn't notice that you too provided a link of the same model.
would this be a form of plug and play or would you need to solder it on mobo of the phone?

none of them need soldering...but most of them require you to cut both the sims
to make them smaller...dont worry it wont damage the sim and they give u an adapter incase you want to use the sims again....but the ones which can use 3g are much more expensive!
cutting them in pieces to make em fit wont be a prob, you could always get a new sim with your old phone number. and that it doesnt require soldering is a BIG +++ to this. im getting more and more interrested.
From my experience (and i have a fair bit) its a piece of cake. Never had any issues what-so-ever
With such a dualsimadaptor do you have to reboot to use the other sim or can you switch between the two simcards when your phone is on?

I used a micro sim card and a adapter, broke one of the three pins while removing it, my note can't read the sim card now, will take it to Samsung service center tomorrow but I'm afraid it will cost a lot, any advice where to buy the sim junctor online just in case ?

oh dear
i read a lot of stories on the forum about this very issue when i first bought my phone, which is why i didnt use a microsim adaptor and got a replacement sim from GiffGaff instead.
from what i understand use of a microsim adaptor voids the warranty so dont admit to that.
It's not easy to replace the SIM reader by yourself. It's soldered on the mainboard.
You mean that the main board needs to be changed?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
No. The reader can be replaced but it requires a hot air rework station and some experience. The new reader can be soldered with a fine solder tip.
Thanks for the info, will go to Samsung tomorrow and see how much it will cost.

Ok, i went to samsung service center, the guy told me that it's easy to fix it, they will change the sim connector, it will take one working day for 40$.

Mine will evidentially break the same way. I can tell that if I pull my micro-sim and adapter out from my Note, that it will pull the pin. I'll now have to replace the sim when replacing the Note in the not too distant future.
It's happened to me previously with an Xperia PLAY.
Pro-tip, stay away from micro-sim adapters.

no actually you could just cut a really thin but rigid piece of plastic thats the exact width or just a very bit smaller than a sim and thats slightly longer. use that to easily slide under your sim tray then gently ease the tray out .. this will protect the pins from snagging, breaking off, or getting stressed.... or use a full size sim but you must need it or im guessing you would have done that already...
should save you from breaking... but if you do break it..i can fix it...
Major issue with SAMSUNG SIM-microSIM pin connector
Now there are dual format SIM. A slot is already there in the plastic allowing to transform your SIM into a microSIM without using any tools. Bad luck, the slot is just large enough to grap the pin of the pin connector and to break it. It happens when you remove your SIM.
The connector is very cheap but Samsung garantie is not working for that: they only replace the motherboard (cost 200€).
I used to switch the SIM cards manually in my old GNex, but this has become much less convenient with the SIM tray in Nexus 5. So I've decided it's time for a dual SIM adapter. Such as magic-sim, for example?
Has anyone tried it? Is it convenient to use? Does it fit with all cases? What about standing cases such as this one?
I am curious about this too. The magic sim says it is compatible with the Nexus 5 but I wanted to know if anyone had tried it.
Has anyone managed to get this and have it working?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I have the dual sim adapter that I originally was going to use for my nexus 4 but never tried to do the dual sim.
I've been trying, without success, to put where the sim and the piece under where the info of the sim card reads but keeps saying no sim card. I do have an easy time pulling the sim card out with the piece on the adapter. Keep watching youtube videos but I dont know if I wore out the electro thingies, dont know the technical term, when trying to match.
Does anyone else have any info / experience with a dual sim adapter for the nexus 5
I am in a situation where a second sim would help me out, but i dont want to have to manually swap them out.
Same here, I'd like to use a second sim in my phone if possible... Anyone know if this works?

Thanks for the reply! As I'm in Europe and therefore only ever on GSM networks, I wouldn't be having those problems I guess...
Could you please post some pictures of the adapter and SIMs installed in your phone, please? I have literally no idea how the hell these things would work, or how you'd even get the things into your phone to start with.
Thanks!

I could post some this evening for sure.
It gets placed over the microsim in your phone then they together get put in the Sim tray and then folded over. Its paper thing so you slide that into the phone so you then have the second Sim dangling around. You put a full size Sim in slot two and bend it over the back side of the phone and sandwich Sim two in between the phone and a case. Its fairly thin and fits with the play store bumper well with just a little bulging.

So you tuck the second SIM in a case, instead of the phone itself... Thought as much, I had no clue as to how it would work otherwise.
Shame, actually, because I don't use a case (anymore).
I thought I could take the battery cover off and tuck it in there but the vibrator motor is in the way for it to tuck underneath

Dual SIM adapter from .magic-sim com
Hi!
I've purchased Dual SIM adapter from magic-sim.com
It said the adapter was compatible with Nexus 5.
But now I realized that the phone does not have STK (SIM Tool Kit) - the application to switch between SIMs.
But it seems that the Nexus 5 detects the adapter because after applying it "SIM-1" appeared on top of the display.
So how to switch between the SIMs???
Mine has sim toolkit installed, stock rom.

Did You tried to use the Dual SIM adapter??
The app is found in /system/app/stk/stk.apk can't run it though not sure why. Haven't tried a dual sim adapter.
So I got my phone today and noticed that T-mobile sent me micro sim instead of a nano sim. I went to the T-mobile store near my to get a replacement sim card. I don't know why but something told me not to deal with the rep I was in line waiting for, it seemed like everyone he dealt with ended up pissed. I didn't listen *first mistake* and stayed in line I got up to the guy and I told him what was going on. He just grabs the phone out of my hand and says maybe you're just sticking it in wrong. So he tries to jam a micro sim into a tray made for a nano sim and manages to get it in. I said what the hell are you doing I just told you it was the wrong sim size, then he was like well I guess you're right. When he tries to get the sim card out he can't, so he takes it to the back to "work on it" 20 minutes later he comes out with my phone in his hand, I'm thinking alright got my new sim and everything is good to go. Boy was I wrong, the first thing out of his mouth was "well we had a little problem" and shows me the sim slot. Well the good news is he managed to get the sim tray out, the bad news is the sim card was stuck inside and it looks like they damaged the pins trying to get it out. I was like you're kidding me right and asked to speak to a manger because I couldn't deal with him anymore. The manager offered to replace it so he goes into his system and then tells me he can't place the order because the phone hasn't released yet. He told me I have to come back Friday get one if they have it in stock. Now I have a 800 dollar paper weight mocking me
this may have been the time when I would have punch him in the face, just kidding but that's f**k up !!!

You have no idea how bad I wanted to. I spoke to T-mobile today and they seem to think that the phone uses a Micro Sim, even if I ignored the fact that the sim they sent doesn't even fit in the tray Samsung website and on their own webpage under the what's in the box says nano sim. I hope they get it figured out or they will have a lot of angry people calling them tomorrow.
I would of said "I just need a nano sim please" then come home and activate it at t-mobile.com/sim
Good news I went to another T-Mobile store and he was able to get the sim card out. The funny thing is that he said I was the 9th person that came in with this problem and the store only been open for 45 minutes. He said a batch of phones went out with micro sims instead of the multi sims *the ones with the 3 pull tabs to choose your size* One of the guys in line behind me said that one of the support guys on the phone told him he had to try to use the micro sim to confirm it's the wrong one before he could get a new one or he would be charged a fee.
Wow! Insanity. I would have... I don't even know. There would have been loud words.
I had a similar situation with a much less expensive item in a store recently where I just stood there and watched as the sales person proceeded to try to bash something together (I had pointed out it was bent and wouldn't fit right ) which of course cracked the thing I was about to buy.
I got a hefty discount to say the least.
If it had been something like a brand spanking new cell phone I hadn't even been able to use yet??
It would have been his head broken along with the sim tray.

Got 100 off my bill for my troubles, what's funny about the whole thing is that when I called phone support they wanted to charge me full price to send me a new phone. I asked the lady if she was smoking crack, keep in mind this is the same person that told me that the edge plus use a micro sim instead of nano sim. She had no clue what was going on I had to explain everything to her multiple times. I must say this is the first time I've ever had any issues with T-Mobile.
Wow 200 off the phone bill is quite massive. How did you persuade them to give you that compensation amount or did you demand it? I used to get 40 dollar credits here and there for 'outages' during the days of sidekick device aha

That's weird the Sim card I got was actually 3 Sim card sizes in one. It came assembled as a regular sized Sim but had punch outs to reduce the card to micro and nano sizes... I didn't use the new one considering I had been using the nano Sim from my M9 anyway.
