I use the ProLauncher too and this is the way.
you can just download another app from market
in other word, arc dont have it
It has and SE has hidden it (Not sure why!). You can use third party launcher to create the shortcut. If you use Titanium Backup, you can see an application called Sound Recorder, which is this application.

They hid gallery, default music player and sound recorder.
WHY??? - To use they'r mediascape.
Not shure why thy hid it in arc...
You can access sound recorder from the add attachment button, in conversation page. Select the add sound option.

I am looking at buying an Arc, Neo or Ray but I need Smart Dialling.
I am new to Android. Do I need to be worried about the lack of smart dialling on the Xperia or can I just download a new dialler?
If I install a new dialler then will it launch from the standard Xperia UI dialler button or will I have to launch it like an app?
Are all 3rd party Smart Diallers pretty much universal in Android or would I need to ensure I got one that worked for the Xperia? (it is a slightly odd resolution).
Anyone running the standard ROM but with a custom Dialler? Which one?
Thanks for the replies
It turns out that the above devices have text search for contacts and SMS. So even though it is oddly missing from the dialler I guess you can achieve the same result from contacts (just without the convenient hardware button).
Try Go Contacts
I have been using Go Contacts for a while and it seems to be very stable and it work really well with my arc.
There are plenty of dialer available in market. Dialer one and go dialer are my favorite.
You will have to launch it like an app. If you use go launcher..you can even assign dialer app to standard icon.

Dialer One used to be the best T9 dialler, but it's become bloated and asks for way too many permissions.
I now use dialer2, which is fast, small and works perfectly well on my Arc (as does every other app i've tried - android apps tend to be pretty resolution agnostic).

The standard Xperia button is just a shortcut which launches an app. You can easily swap out shortcuts in the dockbar in the Xperia UI just by drag&drop, so it's a piece of cake to replace it.
Once you install a 3rd party dialer, any other apps which require a dialer will cause a pop-up screen to appear asking you to choose between the Xperia's stock dialer and the new 3rd party one. You can choose one of these to be the default and that will stop the popup from recurring.
Also check out TouchPal Dialer (from the makers of TouchPal Keyboard).
Ders also angel dialer...does a pretty good job..

Is there any way to tell the dialer to show the call log or contacts page on startup? Having it show the dialpad is really inconvenient as maybe only 1% of my calls are new numbers I have to manually type.

I tried touchpal which was great on my X8, but somehow on the arc it does not clear missed calls from the notification bar. The stock dialer is not bad, but annoying for the reason above.
Will try the miui dialer, thanks!
edit - I just read that the ex (miui) dialer can not yet be set as default, so it won't suit my purposes

Does anybody know how to change the default music app from android to..JetAudio let's say?
Even though i changed the app in liveware manager, when i connect the MW600 and press the play button, it starts the default music app instead of the JetAudio.
Thanx

try this:
Default App Manager Lite
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5hcHBpYXRvci5kZWZhdWx0YXBwbWFuYWdlciJd
Unfortunately, it does not work. It cannot change the default music app because only the stock app is available.
Hi,
i search a way to reproduce my configuration sound on my ONEX.
I come from windows mobile then i was manage sound for every notification like Battery Low, usb connect, mail, calendar, sms, mms, and some others various settings available on WInMo...
But on Android, i can only manage my ringtone and a standard notification for all sms, email, calendar & more...
Where is the legendary ability to make everything on Android device... Customisation pass by sound too...
If everybody as a "third app" or secret, can you sahre with me...
Rewards ; A generic graphic request !
Root ur phone and get in to /system/media/audio. There is the sounds. If u want to change them, replace the files inside the folders. But remember: the name MUST be the same, otherwise it will not work.

I think what you mean is customise each app for its own tone? If so, you go into the app itself i.e. Messages (SMS) and in the top right click Menu > Settings > Notifications. In there is where you change the sound. Same for "most" other apps, it's in the app menu itself. To add your own custom tones you downloaded, create a folder on your SD card called "Notifications" and drop te sound in there. Reboot phone so it rescans and your new tones should be available. Worked for me
By the way, you have right ! No problem !
Only need find a way to boost external audio speaker..

For me the external speaker is loud enough. I wouldn't want to boost it any more as it borders on distortion on some of my louder tones with volume on full.
I use TTS voice (transform in MP3) custom notification.. and voice is very low !!
Already boosted using Audacity !!
