I've installed fastboot, and installed the drivers for my xperia play (R800x) while it's in fastboot, so I've successfully unlocked the bootloader (got the code back when you still could for free), rooted using zergRush, and have successfully flashed DooMKernel.
However, i've tried to just flash the CM7 (CDMA of course) using fastboot only to get a black screen (which prompted me to flash DooMLorD's kernel). I saw the .ftf file above the CM7 download, so i googled what to do with it (the post didn't say you had to do anything with it). So, I discovered flashtool, and I've read both this and this guide, however I can't get flashtool to recognize my R800x when I plug it in.
I have extracted both of the flashtool files and merged them, so flashtool loads fine, and the .ftf is read fine, however flashtool just will not recognize my R800x when it's in flashmode (blue light).
For the drivers I did launch Gordon's Gate and install it in the drivers folder (Gordon's Gate folder inside the drivers folder) and i did install all of the drivers from the installer inside that folder successfully.
I can't understand why it won't recognize it, so I just need someone to clearly explain to me how to set up the drivers for flashtool for my Xperia Play. (flashtool 0.4.2 downloaded from here)
By not recognizing it do you mean that it doesn't give the PLAY as a device option? Cuz flashtool doesn't list the PLAY but still works if you select x10 or Arc. And by the way, blue light does NOT mean flash mode, it means fastboot mode. Green light (hold back button when plugging in) means flash mode. So it probably doesn't see your device cuz it's in fastboot mode
You must be in Flash Mode, not fastboot mode, when you are trying to use flash tool. You must hold the BACK button, NOT search button for flash mode.
Oh wow, what a stupid mistake x.x, so I'm not 100% sure I fully flashed it. I went through the procedure til it told me to turn on my phone and then turn on debugging and unknown sources, then i turned it back off and reflashed. The second time it asked me for a device, i chose the Arc according to the jacklebott, then it ended with this

That should do it

Hello,
Unluckily I forgot my Arc locking pattern with USB debugging off. So I can't do FlashTool with Flashmode.
I tried method here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303380
but it does not have 'Customization Settings'.

Is there anyway that I can flash a system image via FlashTool Fastboot mode or any other better way around?
Looking forward to your advices.

Yes, you can. You don't need USB debugging for flashmode.

It's not gonna help you, the lock data is saved on /data partition. Factory reset will remove the lock, but it will as well remove all your personal data.

Thanks for your advice, but I must be doing something wrong. FlashTool won't allow me to proceed on Flashmode with USB debugging off.
Here it keeps Wait for Flashmode...
I am missing something?

Make sure drivers are installed. Phone has to be turned off, then hold down Back button and connect USB cable.

You're life saver!! Worked at second trial.
I found good reason to flash to ICS anyway, and rooted it. Now I tried x-parts to have Recovery but x-parts said CWM installed OK but I tried reboot from x-part or press volume at boot, it still boot normally.
Any thought?
I've managed to get CWM Recovery working by removing x-parts and install CWM from the old cwminstaller-v1.apk that I found. Yes the latest CWM version is not working on Arc in my case.
Hope this helps.
Hey guys!
I'm trying to unlock boot loader on my Xperia S.
I tried the official way - via Sony Development site but I get stuck on the step where you have to connect the phone and push Volume Up button. Problem is that the phone enters the fastboot mode for 5 seconds, but then shows the battery charging logo and it 'quits' the fastboot mode.
Also, when the phone enters the fastboot mode, I should be asked for a driver, but I'm not.

Later I tried using the fastboot tool, found here, but the instructions aren't clear, because it seems that the new version is slightly different as the older one. Anyways, when I want to fastboot it (labeled with B) it enters the fastboot mode for 5 seconds, then the phone turns on again.
The problem is your windows system doesn't have the right fastboot usb drivers installed for your device. If those are not detected it will leave fastboot.
I can't help you with how to get those installed fully. But i think I ended up manually updating a hidden device in device manager. I think it stays around there as a disconnected device which you can update.
Hope this at least points you in the right direction.

I can also confirm I did something similar on my Win7 64x - had to manually force some drivers for the fastboot mode.

Okay guys,
first of all, thank you!
Ok, let me explain:
1. what I want: get rid of sony's firmware and flash CyanogenMod11
2. phone: Xperia S, my current firmware: 6.2.B.1.96, (still) locked bootloader , no CWM, no root access, SONY PC companion installed
3. I'm following this tutorial: http://www.androidhogger.com/how-to-install-cyanogenmod-11-android-4-4-xperia-s.html
4. I stuck when it comes to root xperia s http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/xperia-s-lt26i-root-android412-jellybean-ota-501291, but this tutorial says I have to unlock bootloader before. Well okay.
5. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447319
I DID everything as said in instructions till the 10th step, but then the ******* phone does not stay in Fastboot mode. My computer installs (apparently) some random drivers -> it does not ask me what I want to do, 'because the driver wasn't installed successfully'., so I can not point to the usb_driver folder.
I tried updating the driver through the Device manager where 'S1 Boot Fastboot' shows when I enter the fastboot mode, but can't finish because the phone quits fastboot and the SONY's logo apperas before I manage to do anything.
I also installed alternate driver pack (link in DooMLoRD's tutorial), but it doesn't change anything.
That's it, guys. I REALLY hope you can help me, because I can't stand the official firware anymoreeeee. I know you rock the stage of phones
Cheers!
From A to Z, please
Sry for 2 posts, can't delete the second one.
About a year ago I flashed back to the stock rom using a guide from this site. Then I used LG OneClickRoot and successfully rooted the phone. Last week I decided I wanted to upgrade to MM since Verizon has been pushing it via OTA.
So here's what I did:
As suggested in another forum, I went into SuperSU, and did the "Full unroot" option. It worked and rebooted.
Then I proceeded to re-enable OTA updates, and then clicked check for software updates under the setting menu.
It found and downloaded a new version @200MB. When the phone rebooted to install the new update it stopped at 0% with an error code. The phone rebooted to the home screen and said "software update could not be installed" I'm guessing it's because it detected the former root or flash that I had done?
So I decided I would try to flash back to the stock ROM again which worked for me last year. I found the thread for the TOT method and I still had the factory ROM TOT file, so I proceeded and shut the phone off and attempted to put the phone in download mode to begin this process but it will not enter download mode. No matter what USB cable or computer I use, when I hold down VOL UP and plug in the USB to the phone with the battery out I immediately receive the image of the phone with a white cord attached and an orange/yellow triangle next to it with a question mark in the triangle (I did not take this picture but this is the same image I get)

I rebooted the phone and got back to the home screen and decided to REroot it thinking that maybe that was the problem. I used LG OneClickRoot again, and with the phone on at the home screen I connected the usb and it entered debug mode and the program on the PC said "rebooting into download mode" and I was skeptical at this point that it would work, but it did! The phone booted up and displayed the "FIRMWARE UPDATE" screen and the PC pushed the files needed to ROOT the phone, then the phone booted back up and was rooted again.
It seems like the OneClickRoot program can get my phone into download mode but the standard method of VOL UP and plug in the USB with battery removed does not. Can anyone help me get this phone into download mode again so I flash the stock rom and try updating to MM from fresh stock? Thank you.
just pull the battery in and then hold the volume UP button and pull the usb cable in.
This worked for me. Hope so will also work for you to get into download mode.
Don't remove the battery once again.
Hello,
I got an issue with my Xiaomi Redmi 7. I was trying to install TWRP with adb, but something got wrong, and now my phone seems dead, bricked.
Nothing happens when I try to turn on, can put on fastboot mode (with power+volume down), nor restart it with power+volume up. The screen are just black, and even the notification led doesn't light up when I connect the charger. My guess is the phone is in EDL mode.
Connecting to my computer it recognizes it as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E", and I can see it on MiFlash, but when I try to flash any stock rom, it stucks in the very beginning. Here's a screenshot:

I've tried different versions of the stock rom, MiFlash and computers, but got the very same result.
Do you have any idea what can I try to bring it back to life?
Thank you in advance!

Hey mate, I'm not sure if you fixed it or not but I'm pretty sure that if it can boot to fastboot it's not bricked. What I suggest you would do right now is install xiaomi drivers onto your pc first and foremost (this actually fixed all my problems) then try to use adb and fastboot tools to fastboot flash recovery twrp.img. if that works you're safe and then proceed to advanced wipe, then vendors and system wipe then in an SD card or an otg flash USB install the lastest global or Europe ROM for miui 11.
Model: LG K10 K430dsE

Bootloader is unlocked / oem unlock / usb debugging ON
This happened after i tried to adb reboot fastboot flash twrp.img (because without flashing twrp ididn't launch)
Now my device is bricked? - maybe it was even wrong twrp version, whatever couldn't find anything official for the exact model and device is old
When the phone starts i get the following message
"Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly"
Stuck into a bootloop
1. 'adb devices' does not find the connected phone, neither 'device manager' (did before) - cannot start twrp
2. Pressing UP and connecting USB, it goes into Download mode for ~10 seconds then exit and shows;
"Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly" and goes into a bootloop again
2.5 PC recognises the COM/PORT for a split second in LGUP + LG Bridge , then it goes away cause phone loops so i cannot enter upgrade and flash the .kdz
3. LGUP shows 'There is no handset connected. Please, connect a handset(s)'
4. LG Bridge does not see the USB, tried different PC and ports.
5. Removed battery, press UP + connect USB device tries to start and closes in 1s
6. When i try to go into download mode, windows shows
'MT67xx Preloader' Looking for updates/drivers, but fails to find it,
Download mode goes into bootloop again and shows 'Your device is corrupt etc'
Spoiler: flip
99,9% i will hear "your device is hardbricked and there is no fix"
It was probably wrong twrp img, K10 K430XX - flashed it and now the phone is gone prob
edit; pressing UP + connecting USB, will show on LGUP and LG Bridge, the device
'connecting' for a split second, then goes away - phone from download mode for 10s will go to bootloop again
