Most people use either leaks or hybrids. I switched from AuraxTremeGinger 8.6 two days ago to SGBS, and it seems nice so far. I mainly did that because some oinks from SGS2 forums drove NeoPhyTe from development, otherwise, AuraxTremeGinger was super stable - used it from day one.
But, if I knew how to circumvent small cache with oxygen hboot, I'd modify auraxtsense 8.4 and stick with it from now till the end of time. Most high profile developers are slowly leaving Desire scene, so I don't think that gingerbread and it's kernels will get that same state of perfection FroYo did.

So isn't a recovery which is used by everyone. Some use clockworkmod, some amonra, some rmd (modification from nexus s-amonra to desire) and some use 4xt.
im using Reflex S (LOVE it)
my recovery is clockwork
I think the ROM you have now (RCMix S) is near the top of the Sense ROMs for quality. InsertCoin is much the same, while CrystalPayramid and CoolSensation are similar again, but use the 3DRosie from Sensation/Pyramid ROM, as well as a few extras.
As to recovery, I am on CWM 3.x.x

I am a new user of the HTC DHD, i wanna know if there is any rom that has the least bugs and good battery as i am on the official 2.3.5 android and the battery life is making me wana die, i need my wifi all the time so please suggest a rom which has no problem with wifi and app running
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda app-developers app
Which rom do you currently use ? the stock one ?
If so, Sense consumes a bit more battery than AOSP roms.
I used to have Cyanogenmod 7.2 with LordModUE 8.9b7 kernel. And it is very very good.
That's for GB roms.
Both JellyTime and IceColdSandwhich roms are good too (but still in beta).
But Wifi is far from being cool with a battery ... Wifi is energy-greedy!!

If you wand the stock HTC look a recommend android revolution
If you wand better performances and battery life use AOSP(android open source project) or Cyanogenmod of AOKP(android open kang project)
Ice cold sand witch have verry good battery life (only bug is camcorder for wat I know)
Which one do u recommend? Aosp or aokp?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda app-developers app
Cyanogenmod 7.2 is rock stable !
Most of the GB rom are very stable too, and almost bug free.
You have to try each rom, Sense feeling ? Aosp one ?
I used SmartDroid for a long time and really enjoyed it.
Newer roms, 4.0 or 4.1 based are still buggy and lack some features but are already very fast and gives you the most recent android experience.
It's up to you to find the one that fits your needs.
One more point, updating your Radio can be good for your battery too.
I personnaly use 26.14.04.28_M without any issue. (but I may update it now, as I've just flashed Jelly time )
I think i'll go for the cyanogen 7.0, does it give a better battery life?
And btw what is "kernal" and which one should i use and how?

Go for 7.2 instead of 7.0
7.2 is the stable one for Desire HD: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=ace
A kernel is the core of the operating system. To extremely sum up, it deals with your hardware and your programs.
Installing a new one can give you some optimizations, better response, better battery etc.
I personally used the LordModUE kernels. Here is a direct link for the lastest version: http://blackice.omca.co.uk/download...ger-kernels/lordmodUEv8.9-CFS-b7-2WCR-TUN.zip
But be aware that to flash a kernel, you need to first boot with the kernel of the rom (here the CM one), then flash the new one.

First of all, and prior to flashing any rom, you need to perform a nandroid backup.
This is a backup of your current ROM, making an image of each partition, to be able to restore it later, in case of a crash or anything else.
Once you've rooted your phone, a recovery should be installed.
To perform a nandroid backup, you reboot into recovery and choose "backup".
Or, you can install Rom Manager from the market, and choose the same option.
Once this is done, and only after this, you're good to flash any rom you want !
Another method exits to reflash the stock rom, using RUU.
I won't explain this as you can find your answer on this forum.
EDIT: don't forget to check MD5 or SHA1 sum to check the ROM/kernel integrity you download.
I use camera a lot is there any jelly bean custom mod with a working camera cause I am now bored to look at the dame gingerbread is since past 1 yr almost....want some change....
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda app-developers app
As far as I know, Jelly Time has a working stock camera app.
Actually, video recording in 720p is the only issue. Then, yes, I can take pictures with the stock app on Jelly Time ROM (currently beta 11).
If you want to record a video, you'll have either to change the resolution to 480p or use another app from the market (Videocam Illusion I believe, didn't test it though).
More information here.
The others JB based ROMs are currently too immature for now, and are not as stable as JellyTime.
Also, please be warn that you need to read the opening post (OP) carefully, the moderators are getting annoyed with all the same questions, which answers can be found in the OP.

Advance Ace Hack Kit - a tool developed by former xda member attn1 used to root, SIM Unlock & ENG S-OFF (ENG S-OFF allows you to flash custom ROM's without security checks e.g. md5 checks, bypassing restrictions placed by HTC on our device). He removed the link to it from the forums as he left xda due to personal reasons. Search attn1 ace hack kit on google to find it, as he hosts it on his website now

Yes your contacts, data and all personal data will be wiped upon flashing a new ROM, as flashing a ROM almost always requires you to wipe the data partitions. I reccomend you backup all of your data to avoid it. If your android and Sense version is android 2.3.5 and Sense version 3.0 then then you will have to downgrade your software version then attempt root

Tried a lot of mods. The main part is still based on CM7.2, so get on the "utility" for themselves.
Yesterday flashed COSG3 by Nino90 until all fast, stable, and pleases the eye. Prior to that, a very long time standing Splashmod, all arranged but eventually became blunt (using more than six months).
Launcherpro now stands.
Please forgive my English, I use google translate.(very lazy in the morning to read and translate in my mind).
best rom
i prefee senses roms but if u dont care to sense rom
try cm7 and cm9 if u dont care android version
cm7 nightly is the best
for sense rom best one is rem rom, for gingerbread imo cm7 stable or ics style by JM and for ics roms best is paranoidandroid (;
Taptapped from my little killer iPod 4G (;
I use unofficial CM9 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967851) and it's a great ROM ! It's less fast than CM7 but with this ROM, i have ICS on my wildfire :good:
(There are some bug, like camera recorder who doesn't work, but you can download another camera recorder from the playstore)
try cm10 cryptomilk rom...fast and less bugs

Hey guys!
I notice that a lot of people just can't choose their roms. They want to know what's the best. So i'm asking you guys if you could help me out.
I'm gonna be conducting a poll on your favourite roms! E.g. Cyanogenmod 7, Cyanogenmod 9, Cyanogenmod 10, Robotomod, ParanoidAndroid, MIUI, Speed droid, EQDKP Sense 3.5, JxMatteo Sense 3.5, Simon's Sense 3.5, HTX Zero Sense 3.5, Kimsmod Supreme, m1ndh4x3r stock rom Sense 2.1, Jikantaru XE, Hensemod 7, Wildchild, and many more. Feel free to add any rom to the poll.
Vote for your favourite rom.
Comment your favourite rom and feel free to comment to why you think this is the best.
I hope you guys would take time to answer this. This thread would help people decide on their rom.
My favorite
Hey guys! My favorite rom is EQDKP v5.0 Sense 3.5 by m1ndh4x3r. It's the most stable sense 3.5 rom i've tried.
stock
my favourite rom is my stock rom because its stable with good battery life and attractive graphics.
cm9/cm10 are good but lack of features, graphics and most bad no smoothness like stock roms.
and one of reason i just want more space for apps so i can do that with my stock rom with init.d scripts and for screenshot i have to write only two lines in build.prop easy..and also i can get 3676 antutu score on my stock rom with stock kernel..
Jelly KING
in ankieta theri no this option.
Hey! I'm sorry there's no option for Jelly King. It's fairly new so I haven't tried it yet. I can't add options the poll anymore. Maybe i'll try this rom.
I have the most fun with the BeatSSenseles mod, but i'm now playing with CM10 roms, but withe every CM10 rom, i got problems like:
Package file is invalid
Install on USB storage or SD card failed
Now i'm try a CM9 rom and hopefully i don't get these messages
Otherwise i go back to GB roms like BeatSSenseless
Cm10 marvelc fastest and smoothest rom I've tried
