Which is the latest baseband for the Xperia Arc? Yesterday my phone upgraded to 4.0.2.A.0.42 (android version 2.3.4) with kernel version [email protected] #1, and my baseband is 203028D-56. Is this the baseband i should use? If not which is it?
it newest one.
If you dont use any custom rom, or anything else. Then you have newest one possible.

What do youn mean by "any custom rom, or anything else"? I installed this baseband (56) for use with the [email protected], but after a reboot problem occured, i had to relock the bootloader and download the latest firmware from SEUS. Now i am with a locked bootloader and an unrooted xperia arc @ 2.3.4 android
Thank you btw for the reply!!

Thanks for this detailed description
So from where to download 4.0.2.A.0.42
Hey guys! As the title states, Just trying to figure out a step-by-step way to upgrade my Arc to 4.0+ whilst having a LOCKED BOOTLOADER.
I am unable to unlock the bootloader and understand this causes quite a few problems.
I already "bricked" the phone once..had to repair it to get it back to stock again. I don't want to go through that again..
So, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could kindly direct me to, or outline here, a step-by-step guide to installing ICS on my Xperia Arc.
Thanks for all your time and help!
Use flashtool to flash the official ICS release.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Do I need to have root before upgrading? And also, do I need CWM recovery?
Can I just use flashtool to flash the ftf file?
Thanks again for the help. Much appreciated

Just flash using flashtool, it flashes the kernel too. I think Binary has added a root file too.

There is an update you need to apply to flashtools if you have version .6 you need version .7 look in stickies for flashtools... Info in that thread.

If your phone is Xperia Arc(LT 15i) I recommend you to wait the official update of ICS for arc, at this moment ICS is available for Arc S. I have Xperia Arc but i use a custom ICS rom with custom kernel, and bootloader unlocked.
Thanks everyone for the info.
My Xperia is LT15a, but I recently got it repaired and now it says LT18a instead. =S
Android 2.3.4
Baseband: 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-64
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf - [email protected] #1
Build Number: 4.0.2.A.0.62
Bootloader is Locked
Can I still upgrade?
Thanks again for your time and help!

huh ? i do not understand... is it okay for the repair shop to do that ? . . . there are several h/w differences between last year's model and this year's model to 'require' the new internal s/w to properly talk to the new h/w ( drivers... )
.
please correct me if i am wrong.
hi everyone, recently i flashed my Arc with generic 4.0.4 France firmware,
yesterday,"original" SI number for My Arc showed on the update list (1246-8416) and i decided to downgrade to GB (4.0.2.A.0.42) first and after that updating to my "original" SI number,
strangely, after done flashing,my Arc still on ICS even though i already flashed it TWICE with Indonesian GB firmware (4.0.2.A.0.42),
Any ideas to safely downgrade to Indonesian GB firmware??
Try using gb .62/69 then go to .42.
Remember to to check the boxes to clear data.

Questions go in the Q&A section
Hi just wondering if anybody knows how to debrand the 3 UK Xperia Arc S. I have de-branded an Xperia Play before but I cannot find the approriate files for the Arc S. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

First of all, you should ALWAYS post your doubts in the Q&A forum.
To debrand the phones flash with flashtool any generic firmware, here you have 4.0.4 firmware for the ARC S : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583010
Sorry I am new to XDA and thnak you too i appreciate the help
Once installed and debranded.
look for how to root once you got this you can get rid of all the bloatware that is installed.

Yeah I will do but I have read that currently there's now way to root the 4.0.4 update yet for xperia arc s when i had the Play i used one click root.
Yes , you can root 4.0.4.
You have to flash 4.0.4 ftf, after that you have to flash 4.0.3 kernel ( you have to download 4.0.3 ftf and flash just kernel with flashtools).
After you have your arc/arc s with 4.0.4 rom and 4.0.3 kernel , you use the one click method for the 4.0.3.
After you just need to flash 4.0.4 kernel and you have a full 4.0.4 (rom+kernel) rooted

I would like to run the [email protected] rom on my R800i currently running CM9, but my baseband version is currently 56, but the rom needs 58 or 62... does anyone know how to change this so it can work? Sorry, I'm quite a n00b at this :/
Thanks in advance!:good:
Just download the .62 ftf and flash with flashtool... Excluding all except the baseband.
