I want to remove Adobe Flash Player from my device because in my opinion it is just way too slow to work effective. When I load a website with flash content I almost can't scroll and zooming is just even worse. Does anyone know how I can remove it or turn it off?
Thanks in advance.
In the browser, press menu.
Settings > Disable plugins (?)
If that doesn't work, use a file explorer such as root explorer (requires root) to delete the flash apk from your system.
It may even be possible to use the built in application manager to remove it, but I can't remember if it shows it or not.

I already disabled the plugins and I tried to remove it with Titanium Backup. When I select Adobe Flash and hit delete I get an error saying the apk-file can not be found.
Where can I find the apk-file in Root Explorer? I'm trying to find it but no succes yet
> Warning
install_flash_player.apk cannot be deleted because the file system is read-only.
How to bypass this error?
I already found out how to bypass it. I had to press some button to change from r/o to r/w.

There is one flash player floating around, 10.1.92.8. I removed the install_flash_player.apk (10.1.72) and install this. Didn't see any differences though.
As to your problem, i didn't face any such problems.
I tried to instal .apk files from the Removed Apps folder on my Sd card using Root Explorer and when I hit the install button. It says app not installed.
Any ideas why?
Oh yeah, incidentally, when I try to install the com.fede.launcher.apk by copy and pasting it into the system/app folder I get the same message "app not installed.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I like the Motorola Music Player, its very simple and clean. I tried to install the apk, rename the .apk to .zip and install via recovery, and to copy the apk (there's a post from fritolay saying to do that) to /system/app, without success. Any ideas how to install this app?
Put the APK on to the Sd card.
Enable unknown sources in setting / applications
Use a file manager to locate the apk and run it.
it will install to the phone an then it should work.
This apk doesn't install via file manager, i have tried this before. I have seen in another post that needs to be copied to /system/app, but i haven't figured what to do next.
SOLVED! Copied the apk to /system/app and set the permission user read/write group and other read.
Notice:
Actually, I don't know this application is necessary for you or not
After moved from stock GB to Custom Rom (CM9), sometime we felt some applications are missing
One of them that I felt missing from stock ROM is Samsung Apps
So I will share apk files from this apps
How to install?
The zip file is not flashable, extract it, and install 2 files as normally (tap & install)
And it easy to Uninstall from Apps Manager
Note:
This apps is not latest version, but the apps will updates automatically
I hope you like it
i can't install it as normal app because it say "application not installed "

This can happen if you have your activity declared twice in your AndroidManifest.xml file. And by twice, I mean one: as a normal activity and two: as the launcher.
Make sure every activity in the manifest file is declared only once.
1. try another explorer to install it, eg Astro or Root Explorer.
2. If method 1 doesn't help, delete file .android_secure/smdl2tmpl.asec from SD Card. If the folder .android_secure is empty on your file manager, delete it from PC
I hope it will help you

samsung apps cant install as common apk files. its require touchwiz framework.
try this instead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773983
It worked perfectly for me. Some apps downloaded by the application fail to install, but not all. I managed to install Samsung Apps moving both files to system/app via Root Explorer. After I changed the permissions to RW-R-R.
I would like to add my Samsung account on the phone, but I need the apk files. Do you know where can I find?
I would like to change default file manager but it seems that some links to it are hardcoded in LOS so for example if i uninstall it and replace it with fx file manager some
apps can't access it because they are calling to that default one which is not there anymore.
Any tips on how can i replace it, or where can i change those links to default app?
The default file manager that you were using has the package name "com.android.documentsui", and you generally see it when you have to choose a file for an app. Only here has it been turned into a full-fledged file manager. That was a system app that you weren't supposed to remove, so your only option is to install another file manager app alongside the default one.
Hi i'm with the same problem, i need a default file manger that can accese root so other app can get accese to root folder. Is there a way to resolve?
Here is how to replace the stock file explore with the root accessable one.
I'm gonna priovide the best filemanager fully featured, called mixplore, which i highly recommend. this file manager can access root directory.
watch Mixplore review from HERE
NB: make sure you have a root access
1. download Mixplore
2. install it on your device then open it
3. on the left then click on "root" then grant root permission when prompted
4. go into system/apps/documentUi OR system/apps/cmfilemanager
OR system/apps/files. If your on other roms apart from cynogenmod, lineageOs or RR-Os.. go into system/apps/filemanger
in case not found in app forlder try priv-app, i.e system/apps/..
NB: not "document" its "documentUi"
5. open the that last folder on the directory i.e file manager, swipe right and go into downloads copy the Mixplore.apk, then swipe left back into root/system/app/___ and paste the mixplore and delete the stock filemager from that folder
6. restart the phone.. now you have replaced the stock file explore from your android.
ppllzz help meee mi a1
i uninstalled the system file manager and now can't reinstall it and com.andeoid.documentsui keeps stopping and after installing app getting the problem files keeps stopping

This method creates problem when trying to access sd card or otg, mixplorer ,though fully featured, will also need permission from documentsui to access externals,it will show error "doesn't exist x
Best way is disable documents ui from showing icon in launcher
