Could we get a themes and apps subforum please?
I think that Other TouchPad Development could be merged with TouchPad Development because they are still "Development" forums. People could just tag what OS it's for since TouchPad Development is not Android specific.
Thanks for listening.

Just wanted to leave a quick post here, if you are looking for my themes they will all be posted on the Development & Hacking forum from now on, since I'm making them for multiple resolutions and not just WVGA anymore. Here is the link:

OK, I just made my first Android app and I was going to post a thread to get feedback. Since it's related to developing on the Android platform, my instinct is to put it in the Android Development forum. It seems, however, that the dev forum is strictly related to ROM's these days (some of which involve no actual dev work).
So, the question is... Dev or App forum?
Definitely put it in the Themes and App forum. If you put it in development, it will get moved

I just don't get why we call it Android Development. Why not call it what it is - Android ROMS, or maybe more appropriately - Android ROM Development.
I would like to propose a forum for Android Web Development that is separate from the general application development forum. The context, tools and issues are different when doing web dev work vs app dev work. I think that it would clarify the context and make it easier to find answers.
Maybe my question sounds stupid but you should consider to create subforums where the name of subforum would be for example MildWild and only that user would be able to create threads since he is one of those who creates and supports more than 1 ROM development line.. im sure there are more developers like this who should have this kind of support... Thanks for reading this far
While this idea may work small scale with a handful of users & developers, scale that up to XDA size and its unworkable. Creating, administering & moderating a forum for just one developer would not work.
Good idea in concept, but sadly it wouldn't work here.
Hi folks,
I'm here to request a set of sub-forms dedicated to general hacking/theming for specific [older] Android versions.
Such as a sub-forum dedicated to JellyBean, then one for KitKat, then Lollipop, etc.
The reason is that it is increasingly difficult to search and find support for the older operating Android versions.
But many people are still using older Android versions for multiple reasons.
I myself am knee deep in revisiting KitKat because it is the only "supported" Android version for one of my devices.
And finding theme/hacking info on KitKat is a crapshoot. All info is spread out and outdated.
I imagine it's the same for folks still working with Jellybean or Lollipop.
There really needs to be a concentrated location to discuss these older Android versions.
Maybe the current "Hardware Hacking" could be moved into subforum under a new forum called "Hacking".
And then include a new "Software Hacking" subforum with individual sub-sub forums for each version of Android.
Thanks for letting me voice my suggestion.
