So please if you have XTC-Clip in Kuwait PM me, so we can meet. I will tip after you s-off my device or if you have a price let me know.
Wrong section, stuff like this should be posted within general.
I don't know if there are people in Kuwait with xtc, but maybe you could ask at an second hand mobile seller that also does repairs, at such a shop I got mine s-offed for €20.

I am interesting to buy an O2 Exec from Ebay UK.Some of the devices are listed with O2 simlock and some others are listed as unlocked.I'm located in athens,Greece so the phone will be working under greek mobile carriers.I would like to know if i will buy a phone with O2 simlock if i will be able to unlock it(easy and free) and use my greek carrier's sim.
Sorry for my poor english
Kind regards from Athens
I can't fully answer your question, but I received my XDA Exec last Friday from O2 and it came already unlocked (I'm using an Orange SIM in it).
Can anyone else confirm theirs came unlocked?
I believe O2 charge around £20 to unlock their devices.
But will i be able to unlock the phone from Greece?
Sorry, I don't know, you'd have to ask O2.
But what I was trying to say is I don't think ANY XDA Exec comes locked and was hoping a few more people might be able to confirm.
That's what i also knew but then i saw this in ebay and now im confused. I need to be 100% sure that the phone must be unlocked or easily(and free if possible) unlocked.
Thanks for answering anyway.
I haven't heard of an XDA Exec that is locked yet to be honest. Also, i'd be a bit wary of buying off E-Bay. If the seller decides to change carriers you could theoretically be left with a dead phone if the contract isn't paid up.
The offers on there are tempting but I phoned 02 to get mine and they've given me 800 free minutes a month on a 12 month contract. I realise in Greece this is of no use to you but I mentioned it just in case and UK residents are looking at them.
Hello guys i just purchased from ebay a p6500 from orange UK. Does anybody know if it is locked in orange network and if so how will i unlock it? (i havent received it yet propably tommorow) also why there is not any p6500 section in our forum since the device is already out in the market? sorry for my bad english.
Anybody???? Help!!!
Nobody knows something?
Dont know whether yours will be locked or not but probably is.
As for the seperate discussion forum there have been a number of requests but I guess as this is targetted more at vertical markets than consumers the guys aren't too bothered.
I agree with you my friend but i think xda developers site since the begining is supporting all htc devices in the market and its quite strange why the p6500 hasnt a thread in this site. I bought this phone even thought i have a touch cruise and i want it for every day usage and not for my work. I hope a thread will be made soon and i will be very happy to help by dumping my rom to the missing polaris and kaiser drivers project.
Well sim unlock maby imposiblle.........cid unlock anybody know how to get rid of the orange brand and put the original htc rom? Im willing to donate to anybody that helps me!!!€
I've also got a sim-locked orange UK P6500 that I would like to use on other networks. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I just ordered a HTC Desire with T-Mobile (directly with them)
Just wondering if anyone else has done this... I would like to know if there is any T-Mobile logo branding on either the front or back of the fones case???
Appreciate your help
I am in possession of one of the very first batch that T-mobile shipped on Friday March 26th. It has no external branding. I don't know about later ones.
use search function mate, there is 10+ users with desires from t-mobile on this forum and everything has been said already
anyway apart from the intro theres no tmobile branding
Ok thanks for the info meson1 & cez10
hello all,
I am in US and I am planning to order htc desire from uk website. Some one told me that while shipping any handset to US, FCC id of the device needs to be
provided to the courier company. I searched in google for fcc id but no use. I would really appreciate if any one provide me the id.
Thanks in advance
Two things you might want to look at filings under Bravo. I think that was one of the orignal code names. Also I donot think a version from Europe will give you 3G in the states. I know it will not on AT&T.
sorry i forgot to mention i will be using it on Asian 3g networks.

There probably isn't one - since the Desire is not designed for the US market, I doubt that it has been sent to the FCC for certification.
Note that the Verizon Droid Eris was previously codenamed the Desire, and that was passed by the FCC so searching for the Desire will almost certainly give you the FCC id for the wrong device.

Dave
if it does, it may appear as the PB99200, the nexus is the PB99100
although i am not sure that it has FCC clearance as it is not intended for sale in the US.

For the purposes of shipping to the US, if the carrier requires the FCC number (which just seems unlikely to me if you're buying from the UK), I'd be inclined to just put down the Nexus FCC ID as RHedgehog has quoted here.
It does seem a rather pointless requirement though if you are importing a single unit for personal use and not to resell. After all, I've never been stopped by US customs when I fly into the US for bringing in my personal phones which also don't have FCC certification.

Dave
I am new to the Android scene and I would like to know if the G2 and/or Desire Z work fine on AT&T's network? I have no problem with rooting as long as tools and documentation are available. I'm not a professional at this but I can usually follow the instructions. I've rooted an HTC Inspire but that was already on AT&T's network so, no issues there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Yes you can. You must get the HTC Desire Z a7275 model. This model is also known as the Bell Desire Z because Bell is the carrier. You can get one for as low as 450 USD on ebay but make sure you get the right kind. The G2 and other Desire Z version will work but they will not get 3G. Only the A7275 will get 3G.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z
Ok, thanks a lot for that!!!
Also, if you get the A7275 Desire Z, it needs to be SIM unlocked to be able to use it on AT&T. Either already SIM unlocked from the seller, or you can root and use gfree to unlock the SIM yourself.
Ok, SIM unlock and gfree should not be a problem for me.
thanks again!!!
I'm considering buying an HTC Desire Z from an Ebay seller located in Canada. Can anyone tell me if there are any duty fees / taxes for importing into the USA and if so, how these are paid, etc. I've never bought anything like this from outside the USA so, I have no idea what to expect.
Again, any advice would be appreciated.

I did the same with Ebay. I did not get any extra fees. The seller just sent it through Canada Post and then once it got to the US it went through USPS. It only took about a week. UPS and Fedex would be faster but a lot more expensive.
Just a heads up, Canada Post is currently engaged in a "labour dispute" with its union, so packages may take longer to be delivered. You could look for sellers that ship via UPS or Fedex, but I hear that they charge ridiculous brokerage fees (for the cross-border transaction).
Thanks to everyone for their input! My HTC Desire Z is great! Those of you wanting a moderatly sized android with a good physical keyboard, buy the Desire Z. All the junk I saw about the Z hinges being loose and other wierd stuff some people are able to make the hinge mechanism do, I have had none of those problems for over a month now. If you expect the Z hinge to keep an air tight seal when closed then this phone may not be for you but for those who have some understanding of mechanics, I don't think you will have any issues with it. Thanks again!!!
