Hi I just got my inc2 and love it so far but I can't hear through my ear speaker. I am stock and would appreciate all help.

that sounds like an old silent audio bug, you said you just got that phone did you have any system updates?

As many know when wearing wired headphones with the ET4G notifications, ringtones and alarm sounds ring through the speaker; it's my only complaint about the device.
Might anyone know of a solution which will make notification sounds play through wired headphones and not the speaker?
Thanks, in advance, for your thoughtful feedback.

Use poweramp? Voodoo sound used to fix this but sadly its not getting ported to sgsII

Same problem here, running Calkulin's 2.8.1 and using PowerAMP for my music player. It's a real pain while in the office!
Switch phone to vibrate? That's what I usually do.

Unfortunately the audio bug they speak of is on the epic 4g, not epic 4g touch. I tried to contact Samsung about it and they blew me off.

Hey guys,
Wanted to know if anyone is having an issue with Gnex speaker.
When the speaker makes a sound, as in locks, key tap, volume up down sound, anything, it hisses for a couple of seconds then like cuts out with a CB like noise. Soooo annoying!!!
Cheers is advance. = )
Yes this is annoying. It happens to everyone with sounds enabled.

You just aren't noticing it. Play a sound with your head up to the speaker and when the sound stops, you will hear a VERY FAINT hiss and then pop.
It's been noted by many users on the google bugs forum. It's annoying.
I assumed it was just really bad recordings? I was going to pull and re-sample my ringtone and SMS tones to see if I could fix it, might not be worth the effort if it's the phone.
So its normal?? Really?
Geez, that's a bummer, pretty annoying and very, I dunno, cheap. = (
I was hoping it was just me. So it could indeed be fixed with software?
I thought it might of been the hardware. = / Good and bad news in a way. So there's nothing we can do atm is there?
Thanks guys.
I gave friend also who has a Gnex and his has no noise like this at all. It's sweet.
This is strange.

Was he using a custom rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
No that's the confusing part. I have another thread asking about firmware updates aswell...not going to bring that into this but he's on 4.0.3....isn't the latest 4.0.2?
Anyway, so your thinking if you wanted to you could change roms and it would get rid of that noise?
ive noticed ive ran into this issue only when using volume+
Oh really?
Nah I have it just straight out of the box.
I just got a replacement Gnex and its still doing this f'king noise!!! Its so annoying!! What can I do??

Digital to Analogue Converter.
Every model at best buy had this problem so we're not alone. There was a thread somewhere about manipulating the audio flinger. Mine is only noticeable in dead silence.

Yeah same. Its not that bad I spose but when I hear it I cringe a little. Haha.
So there is a way to fix it? I'd have to root wouldn't I....
What builds do you guys have?
Could you post? I'm doing a little brainstorming here and if its the build, I'm gonna change!! Haha.
Thanks I'm advance. = )
Do any of you actually realize that every speaker on the planet does this?
Apply power to speaker, it will hiss. Cut power from speaker, it will pop.
And seriously, why are any of you putting your ear up to the speaker port anyways? You do realize you must look like fools...
I just got my N2 friday and I notice when Im on a call now that the ear piece sounds like it crackles a little bit. Is anyone else have this issue?

I had this happen when i made my first call. But the service where I was was not the best. As of yet, I have not had another issue with it.

You got 14 days. Take it back and get a fresh one.
I think its related to the service not the device.

I get the crackle or pop every time the speaker on the back turns off and on. Like during touch sounds. Ill take it back and get another one before my exchange days are over so I get the freshest shipment of devices

I get crackles when I'm on a call using my bluetooth headset. This is bad.
I had this happen to me last night while I was on a call. I turned it into speakerphone and it stopped even when I flipped back to the headset it was gone. I am definitely going to be taking it back for a new one if this happens again.

I use me phone several hours a day on voice calls. I have used my headset (blue parrot) with a bunch of phones and never had any problems with the volume. In fact the headset is so loud I rarely have to have the volume all the way up. I got the note on Saturday and the volume on my headset while using this phone is very low with the volume all the way up on the phone and headset. This is just for voice calls, I watch YouTube videos and Skype calls are just fine, just the voice calls. I have went through the settings and can't figure it out. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Turn it up a little at a time til you find the max with no distortion
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda premium
Try this:
Install equalizer app from market.
Open the app and raise all 5 bars to max.
Done.
For mp3: use pre amp feature of players like poweramp.
What quality is your music at? What kind of head phones are you using? I say this because my set up I have to turn down because it's too loud.

I use Poweramp + Audio Technica M60.
Try this (attachment)@PowerAMP equalizer.
Also check your audio file quality.
