Hi there, I have a little problem with the camera on my bravo desire that has only just started happening in the last week or so.
After taking a picture, when I go back to look at it, the whole right hand side is all deformed and different colours. It only affects 2 or 3 of the batch of pictures I take, but 1 was so bad that the whole pic was distorted.
Today, my phone actually froze 3 times and rebooted itself while taking pictures.
I'm running Leedroid 3.0.8.2 with an 8G card and 1G ext 3. I never had this problem before so not sure if its rom, sd card, camera or something else. Been on this rom for at least 4 months and last week was the first problem. Never had this before on any Leedroid roms.
Any suggestions?
I recommend to change rom. If problems persits, go back to stock. If problems still persits, concact HTC.
I think you should format your SD card.
You can also change the SD card if problem persist.

A friends DHD is just displaying a black screen when trying to watch recently recorded video from the phone. Anyone else had this before?
I had the same problem, after a bit googling it turned out to be caused by the memory card being not up to the task. To record HD video the card has to be class 6 or above but the card supplied by htc is only class 2 so it can't read/write fast enough.
So would ensuring the videos are local and not on the card help?
Normally it isn't related to the sdcard. Have you tried to play your video on a PC?

I bellieve too that isn't the sd card. I have a 16gb class 4 but i don't have problems with HD Videos, i shoot and watch everything just fine.
I bellieve that maybe it's a bug or even worst a hardware proble. I have a similar problem with media, i get random errors and denies to play videos or music transfered from my pc.
is it not working both landscape and portrait?
Afaik it happens regardless,im going to see her tomorrow and take a look at the phone, may take a backup and factory reset.
I just can't imagine what's causing it.
If you can get a memory card (ideally class 6 or above but you could try class 4) try it. I contacted HTC and they thought it was a software fault but I tried a new card (class 10) and I've had no problems in the 6 months since then. I was even getting problems playing high quality on YouTube it was getting so bad.

Well I checked the uptime of her phone since she said it was really slow and struggling it was a whopping 979 hours!!
switched off and tested her card in my phone. shocked to find mine was class 4 btw.
anyway her vids played back perfect on my GS2. recorded ok too.
videos recorded to my card on her DHD too.
next put her card back in the DHD and begun recording then played it back fine.
started to play back her older vids now perfectly.
Seemed to be down to the fact it was struggling being on non stop for so many hours and maybe taking out the card and popping back in helped.
backed up all her vids and pics onto a mem stick just in case. There I was thinking Id be factory resetting her phone and starting over!
So, when i use my camera, my Desire reboots sometimes afters just one taken picture.
It blocks, then reboots.
I tryed mani ROMS, it hapends on stock and unrooted Desire too!
What can I do?
Some of my friend say that i must instal a new driver for my camera, but i dont know how to do that.
Can someone help me? Im desperate..
I've had this same problem. My phone is rooted with stock rom, but I remember having this problem before I rooted. What happens is that when I take a picture the phone reboots and the picture isn't even saved. This is really random, it once happened two times in a week and then it took a month to happen again. I've noticed some things when it happened:
- They where all pictures taken with flash on a really dark place, almost no light in it.
- After reboot, screen is set to its highest brightness. This happens everytime you access the camera but goes back to your setted brightness when you exit the app.
- Last picture taken before reboot is not saved.
In the 4 months I've had my Inspire, this has probably happened 10 times. As I said, its very random. Last time was 2 weeks ago.
Any ideas?
Hey buddy,
Do you ever try other kernel?
Sometimes it is not about ROM, but related to kernel.
Try another one.
Which kernels?
Htc Droid Incredible 2 :
Today i tried to use my camera but black screen appeared, i restarted the phone and nothing. It worked for a few pictures after i took out the battery and restarted the phone. Now every time i want to take a picture i have to take out the battery and restart phone So i wanted to ask you guys what would be the solution? Flash to another ROM? I didn't install anything, everything is stock. Camera worked good for 2 months just today stoped...
software : v2.3.3
same with my wife's phone. Anyone got a fix for this?
If you're running an AOSP GB ROM (which you probably are if the camera sucks) then do what I did and found the MIUI camera .apk file. You have to install it in your system folder, so be careful to rename it to whatever the original is, and remove the original camera .apk file.
USER BEWARE: I am not sober this evening. My advice should be taken with extreme caution. That being said, it worked for me on the OG dinc1, so I'm guessing it wouldn't be much different now.
I tried everything Instaled few ROMS (Zeus,MIUI,HD,CM) problem with camera stays... tried to install miui camera on stock rom worked for 10 minutes and then black screen again i guess is hardware problem, but i'm in europe now can't go to verizon store to return it. Maybe some other solutions?
How about Camera360? I use the paid version and love it!
camera360 uses the stock app(which doesn't work) so it is the same problem...
Well, hot dog! Never knew that one.
You learn something new every day, don't ya?
I'd still try it though. Just cuz.
It looks like sd card was causing problems with camera,as soon as i remove sd card camera works when i put the card back it works for 10 minutes and stops :S (I tried 3 different cards). For the last one hour camera is working (i instaled Skyrider Zeus ROM) but don't know for how long. Is there some app to mount unmount sd card from home screen, i don't want to open case to take out sd card every time camera not working?
Hi guys,
I have a bone stock Note 2.
Since a couple of days ago, the gallery has been acting really weird. It would lag, freeze, ask to close/wait and even crash. When i zoom into the image, it would jerk and jiter even if my hands are of the screen. The upper part of the phone around the area of the sd card reader and front part fo the screen would become really warm to touch.
This is all of a sudden, mind you. Ive never experienced any lag in the gallery. I use it all the time over wiwfi to send images to my dlna connected devices without a hitch.
I thought my sd card was going back. i replaced the 16gb kinstaon card with a 32gb sandisk, and it hasn't made any difference at all. SAme problem.
The problem is alleviated if i switch wifi off. But ive never had to do that before. I have always hd wifi on and connected all the time with no problem until a few days ago.
I have all sync's off including cloud sync. There should be nothing syncing in the background.
Its not the sd card, it cant be the sd port as it works fine with wifi off... so im at a lost as i have no more ideas on what to trouble shoot.
Im thinking it may have been an update that i did not notice maybe? All share cast is not samsung link... dont know if that would do it...
I do hop ei get some insight to what is going in with my note 2.
Anybody else having similar problems or a solution?
Any and all help is much appreciated.
tried new card,.. same thing.
tried hard reset, and still same thing...
what else can it be?
hardware failure?
Figured it out!!!!
Plex media server was causing it. Once i disabled it on my PC, gallery is working like it should again.
My phone is now good two years old. It doesn't show its age externally which is why I'm not exactly jumping to replace it, but it does have some "internal" issues.
Recently it became quite jerky & unresponsive. This shows in apps just not snapping in, animations tear & crack all over the place and, well, it's just not smooth. Actually, this is so bad that it's even hard to answer the phone because it just doesn't detect the swipe, so sometimes it takes a second or even third try.
So I decided to go from CM based ROM to a stock based ROM. Made a flash, a factory reset and rebooted the thing. My next step is to restore my apps with titanium backup, so I install it from Play Store, install the Pro key and then restore all the apps (some 40 of them). I'm not sure if this plays much of a role because even if I don't use TiBu to restore, the same thing happens anyway.
At first, everything was smooth again. But in a matter of hours, the phone was jerky again. This came as a bit of surprise as normally it takes around a week (but it always becomes jerky). I swear I'm not doing anything taxing with the phone. I uninstalled all the apps that I thought might be causing this, but nothing had any effect. I'll now go back to the CM based ROM because it suits me better in some aspects, but I've just about had it with all this unresponsiveness.
Is there any way for me to detect what it is that's causing these hiccups? Is there a rational explanation for my woes?
Try to reboot in safe mode and see if it becomes jerky again after one or two days...or hours.
If it becomes then is a hardware problem.
If not try a full wipe install your fav apps but don't restore any data.
Do you have an SD card in your phone by any chance? This phone suffers from slow SD cards. I have a Kingston SD Class 4 card and the Gallery, Messenger, and some apps just start freezing and being unresponsive. Ordered a Class 10 UHS-I Samsung SD Card......lets hope it works better. The phone is super quick when not using an SD card on stock 6.0
Thanks for the suggestions. Since I don't have an SD card in, I'll attempt a safe mode probe to see if it helps.
