Wondering if anyone else is having FCs on com.android.phone
Get it all the time when I'm on a active call > get a 2nd call and answer > select option to put original caller on hold. I'm able to finish up on the 2nd call but cannot get back to the 1st call.
I'm rooted on latest CWM. No custom ROM.
Using V6 SuperCharger and dsexton tweaks.
I've cleared both caches and fixed permissions - no luck
I tested and got the same issue......rooted with CWM. Has anyone else tried this.
And those calls does not show up in call logs as well.

No, just CWM and rooted.
Can anyone with stock ROM check and see if the issue is with Stock as well?
I read somewhere where someone was getting similar error....on google forum it said that it has something to relate to SIM Toolkit.....Do you still have that in your phone as i un-installed it.
i also have this issue... very annoying and inconvenient
Found it. ****in annoying and just plain stupid.
T-Mobile Name ID has to be enabled. I froze it in TB. Unfroze, restart and tested. Works like a charm.

make sure you have the setting enabled for installing from unknown sources.
Go to Settings -> Applications -> check Unknown Sources.
Hope this helps.
do I need to install the data.tar and apk file or just the apk? name id can't connect to servers for some reason
it shouldn't need to. as long as it's installed you shouldn't have the problem.

You would need to be rooted to uninstall qik. Then you should use Titanium Backup to uninstall it.

use titanium, you dont have to know anything....
OK.. I tried installing Titanium and it doesn't let me.. I AM ROOTED but I don't have any roms loaded, just a stock rooted phone..
All help is appreciated!
If you are sure you are rooted its simple get root explorer and go to system then app folder scroll down to the qik apk and then hit the R/O button at the the top to give you permission to delete files and then highlight and delete it.
Now this will only work if your phone is rooted... double check that since your Titanium method did not work...

As a newbie, I downloaded EVERYTHING, lol, and now starting to get serious with the phone and cleaning things up.. (as I am sure like everyone)
I downloaded so many different apps, but keeping the ones I know I will use
fyi - this forum has the answer to damn near everything and before you post anything and these guys go crazy just look it up to the best of your knowledge... There is also a list in here of apps safe to remove incase you want to remove more crap. I advise you to do a nandroid of your current rom before you starting playing around with your phone though... LOL, is a nandroid a different term then "backup"
If not, please explain as it seems everyone uses different lingo, yet its just to make people that are new to this (ME) confused
and I'm coming from windows, where we call "ROMS" .. "Kitchens"
Yes it is but its done on the phone and not with outside software. Hey I am coming from a Diamond and a Touch Pro so I know but this forum has it all. I was here and PPCGeeks... if you are unsure of anything just google it with xda an the end and it normally finds you help here... google how to do a nandroid xda... see what happens..
Yea please backup/nandroid whatever you want to call it and then mess with your phone.... so if you mess up you can nandroid back to when it was working... do this before you make any changes to your phone.. IMO

I remember when the diamond was coming out.. I was so pumped.. It went RIGHT ON BY ME! and now EVO is the big boy of phones..
So being the impatient soul I am, right after I got permanent root, I decided to jump into Titanium Backup and deleted some of the bloatware. I was so impatient, that I totally forgot to backup the system apps I deleted to a backup folder on my SDcard, so now those apks are gone. My question is now, if an OTA becomes available, am I going to have problems again, just like with Paul's Goggles app?
If so, what do you suggest I do? I am guessing now that now root has been achieved, we can install those apps to the system just fine again. Can someone upload these apks for these system apps, so I just feel on the safe side and I have backups? I would greatly appreciate it...

Goddamn it. Now I went to uninstall Email.apk to replace it with an old one that doesn't require remote security, but it keeps giving me an "Application not installed" error, even with the backup of the original.

You don't install system apps, you just move then into /system/app/
its likely if an OTA becomes available a dev will mod it to be flashable to rooted and modified /system/ devices

Okay, I feel much better now. Time to play around with this thing! So excited!
Yea if an ota comes out, it will be modded to update the system and skip files not found, if there is a patch.
So your good. I'm just waiting for custom recovery with nandbackup before I start messing n the system. I just hate setting up the phone all over after
And if all else fails you can fastboot flash system.img from the orig pc10img. Wiping all your data and formating ur system. Then updating to ota.

I flashed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 on an Evo 4G on Sprint service and now I get text messages that say I need to call 408.970.0000 to get my VM. When I called it I got a recording about having a smart phone with SMS or something or another and I wasn't sure what it asked me but I pressed option '2' and it said something to the effect that it would continue sending me SMS voice mails but that's not what I want. I don't like getting the cryptic text messages and would much rather have the previous VM solution I had. I think it's called visual voice mail or something to that effect.
If I want that back and to do away with the SMS notifications what are my steps?
Can anyone help me out or link me to a how to and how to resolve my voice mail issue?
I found something about a Spring VM apk so do I just need to install this app and if so where can I find the latest one compatible with CM7?
Thanks for the help.

Since posting this thread I kept searching and I've found some threads talking about a Spring VVM apk and I've downloaded what I think is the right file that I may try. Now I'm just trying to make sure this is my solution.

We are in the middle of this same discussion on another thread so im guna hook ya up. First, download the two apps i linked below. Then using root explorer or a file manager that has root privileges mount system as r/w and delete the stock CM7 MMS app in system/app folder. Than move the MMS app i linked to system/app. Long click the MMS app and make sure permissions are set exactly like the other system apps, click ok. Now do the same with the VVM app below, move it to system apps and set permissions as well. Mount the system as r/o again and reboot your phone. Go into the VVM app and set up VVM and thats it. You will now have visual voice mail again and no annoying 9016 texts. BTW, the MMS app i posted is from Decks AOSP 1.3d rom(that has the fix for the 9016 texts) and the VVM app is from the 8/22 GAPPS, Enjoy.......

I have not tried that rom but the issue we are trying to fix is the annoying texts you get with every vm from 9016. I know this works with the salvaged rom too. The vm come through on your vm app though? Also, some have had success with the following if the VVM app is not verifying there account automatically. Press menu in VVM and compose a message over 25 seconds long. Send the message to [email protected] and make sure you have either wifi or 3g enabled so it will send. This should kick start it.
Use super private conversation app to block 9016 txt. Spc is a free app.

The part in bold above; is it just called MMS.apk or should I be looking for a file called CM7 MMS? Just want to make sure I delete the right one before I get started here. Yes the app you are looking for is in system/app and is called Mms.apk. The icon looks just like the messaging app in your app drawer. If you already have VVM set up and working than just delete stock Mms app and replace with new Mms app and reboot, thats all.

Flawless Victory!
I just wanted to quote this post again for anyone who may be searching for a solution to the same problem. Since I had already installed the VVM I simply deleted the MMS apk and replaced as instructed and it worked perfectly. Thanks again for taking the time to post up the fix and link the files needed.
For the record, I searched and while I found ZERO answers to my problem there were sure a lot of people suggesting to search as the answer was as easy as falling off a log and that wasn't the case. I get SO frustrated when people offer zero help and instead ridicule any and every post looking for help to somehow make themselves feel better. No, the answer isn't always that simple and no you're not helping anyone. If you don't have the answer, a link to the answer or at least first hand knowledge that the answer for sure exists someplace recent then do everyone a favor and move along w/o posting. This forum is made better from people like luist4498 who actually contribute and not people like you who appear only to be around to pad their post count.

Thanks for the heads up but I'm not one to flash ROMs on a regular basis. I was running MikG v2.3 for months before a got caught in a boot loop which forced me to reflash a new ROM. At this time I looked at what was available and decided I liked CM7 the best and flashed that. Unless something else catastrophically fails or I find a feature I can't live w/o I will likely rock this ROM for some time to come. If I do change it though I will be sure to do the fix and refer back to this thread for a refresher. Thanks!

BTW, the MMS app i posted is from Decks AOSP 1.3d rom(that has the fix for the 9016 texts) and the VVM app is from the 8/22 GAPPS, Enjoy.......

i used the command navigate to (Location)
and it worked
i believe the alarm part does not work cause it depends on the clock from gs3
you should try the modded apk then cause not having any of those issues with that apk.
but u have to force install that apk file by coping it to system and changing permissions
that is to hard for some people
Es file explorer, super manager are easy to use not hard at all
if you want to post the file link to the other apk and detailed instructions i will add it to op
is the link in the OP the modded apk?
no
changed post to reflect not modded apk

You do know every thing we do in here is at your own risk. You could of said hey I am running blah blah blah rom and did the fix but it wont let my phone boot up. So that others reading this would know that there are even more risks... Jus' Sayin'
Hope you get back up and running

Hahaha couldn't help but laugh. Playya is right OPs are not responsible for what happens to your phone.
Should I revert back to the old build.prop before flashing a different rom?
Edit: So I did some reading and figured it out. Sometimes it's better to look for the answer on ur own. Ignorance is not bliss!
I am looking for the Tmobile Note 2 Caller ID or Name ID .apk does anyone have it and can post it.
I did a Titanium back up and the folder got put in the internal memory. Did a full wipe to flash ROM and lost the back up .
Lesson learned.
So now I move the Titanium back up to Ext. Storage, flash and then move it back to internal when I need a back up
restored.
But I searched and can't still find the Caller ID apk.
Thanks in advance.
In the OP here (well, post 4 I think) is a zip with all the UVALL4 deodexed system apps - hope that helps!
Thanks :good:.
Downloading now and I will post back if this works.
Downloaded the list of .apks and I did not see the Caller ID or NAme ID .apk.
Anyone else that can help on this?

Isn't it ECID-release_TMO.apk?
Why not try TrueCaller from Play Store ? It's very good and it's free.

Thank you very much gang.
I was able to download both .zip and .apk files for the Caller ID Tmobile app.
The zip file I tried to install it from recovery, the installation failed.
The apk file I tried installing it from ES File Explorer, it also did fail installation.
Looks like there is something not allowing the app from installing.
The reason I wanted it back on my devise is I pay 3.99 a month extra to Tmobile for the service.
The caller ID will not work without this file
I will call and cancel the feature.
While totally your call - before cancelling, what was the installation error? I could upload a flashable zip for you with that apk if you would like.

When I get home I will try to install again and post a screen shot here.
If you could upload the .zip, I can try to flash that one and check back in.
Sure - here it is - md5 89943FCA4FFBFA6322E360A4F7896272
Hope it works for you!

Thank you for sharing the file.
It flashed successfully this time from recovery with your .zip file, but after reboot the app does not show up on the phone.
I tried for someone to call me from an unknown phone and I do not get their ID.
Will try to ask someone later for them to call me and see if it works to double check.

Hmm... ok let me know. There very well may be other things needed for it - I am unsure as I have never used it before, I just remember reading somewhere that was the apk responsible for such things. Apologies on thinking that was all you needed!

Your file works perfect.
It will be useful for everyone who needs it.
I found out that the TMobile caller ID .apk does not work on Android 4.1.2.
I flashed a stock based ROM and your file installed on showed up on the phone. :good:
So now we know why it did not work on my phone as I am using Jedi Android 4.1.2 ROM from
International Port.
I re-flashed the 4.1.2 ROM as I like it better. Sad thing is no Tmobile Caller ID APP for me, :crying:.
Thank you so much.
I know it will help others and now we know where it works and where it does not.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I need the T-Mobile Name ID app as well since I am running SlimBean.
There is an app in the market that works much better the TMobiles name ID it's called privacy star it's cheaper per month and you can also get one year for only a one time payment of 19.99 I got the one year for only 19.99 it's much cheaper then name ID and it is much better it brings up all names that call you even ones name ID did not show.

Is there still no solution? Can someone please post a install file for the stock T-Mobile Caller ID service/App?
