Has anyone else noticed this on the E4GT? I had this problem on my Evo when running Cyanogenmod, but not Sense. I've tried both the Sammy charger that came with it and my old HTC charger.
While charging, the touchscreen becomes erratic. It will input various places nowhere near where you're touching or sometimes not at all. It only happens while charging, remove the device from the charger and it goes back to normal.
Yes, there's a gigantic thread about this already. The gist of it is our touch screens are very finicky and if you use a non-voltage regulated charger (like inexplicably the one that comes with it) the screen will go nuts on it while charging.
I bought a Blackberry charger for it and it works perfectly while charging.
I'm going to punch a baby if I see another one of these threads!

are you using the original charger and cable? I had a similar problem with my vibrant. It only happened with cheap tired party cable/chargers. The phone was fine.it was the touch screen that was sluggish. I suspect a stay charge or ground effecting the capacitive measurements of the screen
thus the sluggishness.

Same here. I'm using original charger. I think it's the outlet. Faulty grounding. If I will switch the outlet the problem goes away.

Interesting you mention the outlet- I have had the same experience with erratic touch screen behavior when plugged in, and have had it with other devices including non-Samsung, but it seems to be random. But it happened today and I remember I was plugged into an outlet upside down. WOnder if it in fact did mess with the grounding or something and led to the strange touch screen behavior. Will try a few times and see if I can replicate and narrow down a constant....
I have noticed it as well. After seeing your post i realized it is only when plugged into the wall.
I've had this problem over multiple phones & multiple chargers.
I have the same problem, can't even unlock the phone while charging...
Whenever i unplug the phone, the battery drops to 99%. Is it Normal or just me?

Happens to me too. Or if it does hit 100 it drops immediately to 99 the moment i take it off the charger.
Well It happened on my dad's E4GT too. But fascinate/OG Epic/Illusion/Evo 3d Which I own never did so!
Take a glass and fill it up with water until it overflows, think of this as your battery. Tip it just a little and you lose some, at which point you will not have 100% of the water anymore. The moment you take it off the charger, it would only make sense for it to immediately go to 99%

Not sure what's going on but the battery icon shows a bolt as if its charging. It shows it intermediately like flashes. The battery chargers fine and the phone is acting fine. Tried flashing new ROM and everything and its still acting crazy. :/

Dude no way. I stuck a tiny knife in the charge port and slightly bent the prong up and the charge icon went away. Well for now at least. Fingers crossed. It was getting annoying. Screen wouldn't sleep. Haha. How can that make it think its charging?
Believe it or not it was causing my phone to lag tremendously
Edit: plugged charger in and came back on when I unplugged it.

maybe theres a tiny current going through the prongs when they touch. of heard of others with the same problem and that is the cause.
OK so I tore it apart and stuck a tiny razorblade under the prong and pryed up with it and centered the prong in the USB hole, I cleaned it out really good and plugged it in a charger about 10 times and seems to be fixed now.

Last night I shut my phone off around 11pm and went to bed. The phone was at 48% when I plugged it in. This morning, I woke up around 6am and thought it was a little odd that the light on my phone was still red. When I turned my phone on it was only at 82%. After 7 hours it only charged 34%. Does anybody have any ideas why? I am on the latest Jellybomb.
I did post this in the Jellybomb Q and A thread but I figured it might be better to start a separate thread as I do not think it is Rom related?
Did you use the charger that came with the phone or another charger? I've noticed that my phone will only charge properly with high amperage chargers.
This is especially true if something is going on in the background (e.g. Titanium Backup).

Yes I did, that is the weird thing. Also the phone was off, so nothing running in the background!
there are known issues with the security of the cable that comes with the phone, it might have been loosely inserted into the phone

Yup. The stock cable does not click wjen inserted, and doesn't even fit securely in the connector. I think I've noticed that my 2A HP Touchpad charger charges quicker than my stock N2 charger...problem with a device with great battery life, testing charging can't happen that often
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Odd... I must have gotten a cable from a different batch, because mine definitely clicks. I wonder if Sammy fixed the problem by the time I got around to ordering my GN2 (I purchased mine from Sprint a couple of weeks or so ago).
Is it a problem with the cable or the connector on the phone?

My phone I got from local brick and mortar corporate Sprint last Friday all baggies in the retail box were factory sealed. Definitely a cable problem, my Touchpad charger clicks fine.

Similar wird thing also happened to me few months ago. Bought noname charger for my phone and always had battery problems.
I can also confirm that the stock cable doesn't click and it loosens very easily. I tried my s3 cable and that one is perfect. It isn't loose compared to gn2. Also hp charger does seem to charge any of my gadgets faster than usual.

OK what kind of phone is it and what battery cover is on it. It definitely not gonna charge by itself
TWEAKED 2.0 ELEMENT V3.0 NOTE 3
My phone has done that if I pull it off the charger too fast....drains the battery like crazy
though it IS an ancient phone compared to 2012-2013 gear (Xperia Play R800x)
Is it one of those fake display apps? My brother had one that would show screen being used as solar panel, more light would show more charging current, all fake to amuse others. Or really strong electromagnetic field capable of inducing electricity even from larger distance.
My battery has a habit of charging on it's own.. To an extent. When I reset my phone when the battery is full. It'll boot up with 15% battery, then it'll slowly creep itself up to 20%-25% then it stops. Then again, my battery is going bad.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
There's is absolutely no way it is actually charging. I had this happen on my s3 a few times. It ended up messing up and not charging at all

Lol either way fellas the video is proof their is also many other videos of othee phones. Guess it happens to them when you dont take care of it as good? Idk either way still a mystery to me. Sure will see a self charging phone soon. Remember that one girl who invented a battery that charges in less than a minute full charge? Google aquired it some time back. I wonder what ever happened.

You must be talking about a different video because the video in the link posted in op does NOT show the back of the phone. He never once flipped the phone over to show the actual back of the phone, so no it does not show the front and back (I have no clue how you landed on that conclusion)! Just for a brief second he tilted his hand (with the phone still lying flat on it's back in his hand) at an angle where you can see the very bottom part of the battery cover, and you can tell it's 2-3 times thicker than the stock S3 battery and door cover so it's obviously a battery case! Sorry to burst your bubble but unfortunately there's no such thing as a magical self charging phone lol

No I never said there was but there are such things as glitches and such. I've seen stuff like that happen with phones before either from a glitch or issues with the battery, and thanks for the reply but I'm no idiot I know there isn't any magical self charging phones but thanks for the input. Have a wonderful day.
Wait so the self charging phone the guy just sold me is fake. Damn
