Hi everybody, I just recently got an atrix and was wondering if anybody had any ideas of keeping the exterior scratch proof. I work in a very dirty dusty environment. I have an otterbox defender but with past experience dirt can get into the defenders still and scratch the phone, I was thinking of skinning it with something then placing it in the defender. I actually had the idea of using scotch tape but I didn't know I'd anyone had any better ideas. Thanks!
Justin
wtf scotch tape??
why not try Zagg Invisible Shield?
Isn't that a pain to apply? I was thinking of a peel and stick option, it doesn't really have to be pretty, just needs to protect
Try the Zagg full body protection, it's really good.
EDIT: It's like a thin skin that is of some of the highest quality.
ZAGG is good. it isn't that much of a pain to apply. just make sure you clean your device before applying it. you don't want any dust or anything under the skin!
Thanks for the input guys! I'll try the zagg
here's a GREAT option that is just peel and stick for your preference:

Excellent! That's exactly what I was looking for....thanks!!!

You beat me to it! haha. I might also try a regular adhesive vinyl. You can get it in clear or coloured plus its cheap. Sometimes a couple bucks for a yard.
di-noc is nice but pretty expensive. cost me close to $20 for a square foot to canada.
what's di-noc?

a vinyl "sticker" that resembles carbon fiber.
It is made by 3M and gives you that carbon fiber look without it actually being carbon fiber. Typically used by ricers on their decade old honda civics.

It's always a pain putting those on though. You can never quite get it to look as perfect as the pictures show, unless you get one of those Indian guys from the mall to put it on.
putting a $20 skin on plastic back that will be a $10 item seems silly. I bet we see $10 back covers all over the place soon.

I haven't received my phone yet, but I am thinking about putting a BestSkinsEver skin on the back. I realize the back will probably be sold on eBay for $10 at some point, but I hear the phone can get a little slippery and the skins add just the right amount of rubbery tackiness to keep the phone from slipping out of my hand.
Having a lot of experience in this subject (see link in signature), I can go ahead and tell you that if you don't have a lot of experience, you won't get that skin to wrap around the corners and edges properly and make it look the way you want it to. Good luck, but it seems like throwing away money because you sure won't be satisfied with the results!
Its easy to get on. Cut the backing down the middle, then tape the other end to the phone. Then remove the half of the skin backing, then the other. And any wrinkles just heat with a blowdryer and its perfect.
is it actually a carbon fibre cover or just plastic?

I ordered the body glove diamond case, in white. It's very nice, looks good, doesn't add any bulk really, and feels solid. It's on the Tmobile website under accessories for the phone

I got one tonight & I love it
If it is like the other Body Glove that has the rubber back it should work out great. I tried case after case and settled on the other Body Glove. I liked it better than the D30. But that's just me..
It's a good looking case.
Does this provide screen protection or i have to purchased screen protector from other sources? I wish to get all protection ready before i getting my galaxy.
Thanks for replying.
this does not come with a screen protector, i wish these $30 tmobile cases came with one. i put in a order for realook screen protector i should be getting it by end of this week.
right.. with tmobiles premium prices
I just wish it wasn't white. That is my only deterrent.

You could probably cover it with some sort of overlay if you wanted to get creative. I have some 3M carbon fiber vinyl that I'm thinking about doing mine with.
The realook screen protector works great with this body glove. No bubbles at all. Took me a couple minutes to fit it on perfectly, since realook cuts it to fit perfectly with the glass
just picked up this case for my wife and her GSII. Great looking case, looks and feels nice. Unfortunately I like it better than my D30 case (mostly because the unlock button is easier to press on the bodyglove)
Ive had it since day one and its kickass!
def. worth it
So I walk into my local verizon wireless store with my G Nexus and asked if I could buy a case, the store clerk went in the back and brought out three cases, he asked another clerk if they can sell them and the guy just looked at the manager in the corner. Manager said no and walked into the back room. He gave me this bit about how they can get in trouble...etc. walked out of the store agitated. I checked my maps and noticed another verizon store about 5 minutes away, so i went their, this time directly to the manager, asked if I could buy a case, he went to the back no problem and brought out the cases. The whole process took about a minute. they had a thin silicon one, and thick rubber/plastic case which i bought, and an otterbox.
Overall this case is more of a temporary one until I find something I really like.
Pros: Very thick, sturdy and it protects all around
Cons: Ugly, dust magnet, ugly, and really distorts the overall feel of the phone because of the thickness
would I recommend it? Only to folks in a similar situation.
Oh, and it also comes with a small stand of some sort.

so the diztronic cases are amazing. they are really great and fit perfect and are cheap ($10) ETC. but i found that they yellow incredibly fast. first it was the sides then my entire phone....
its everyday use. have it in my jean pocket and take it out. thats it! its crazy. it reminds me of the jordan shoes with the clear soles back in the day where the soles yellow naturally bc the material comes in contact with oxygen, causing yellowing.

Just out of interest would leaving it in bleach clear the yellow-ness.
I don't use tpu cases - tend to go for polycarbonate cases.

Even yesterday i did a massive search on ebay for S3 cases. Went over 50 pages with 200 hits each. I can't tell you specifically where but i can tell you there're definitly cases like the ones you want there. Seen plenty of clear ones hard and soft sillicone, maybe there's one you'd like.
Hmm...I was hoping for a clear solid back to protect it as well. Most of them have a frosted back ;___;
i hate to have a thicker device, but the bumper has already protected my device 3 times from getting serously damaged.

Look at Tech21, they have a bumper/clear back that sounds like what you are looking for.
for a quickie five below stores have S3 cases including a tpu case with a rigid mostly transparent back which would "show off" custom backs quite nicely. REALLY good fit and quality for $5 review coming soon.

I'll pass on the alumnium since I hear aluminum reduces radio strength. Thanks though!
