back on my inc 1 i had a launcher where i purchased a add on for it where i could customize the dock bar background, icons and a few other things. U could go into the dock settings and browse an online library of several different ones u could download but for the life of me i cant remember what the launcher was (i think LP) but i cant find the theme package to download that enabled me to browse and download the different icons/docks. i know u can edit manually but i loved the convenience of having the option to just browse a online library and set it in the actual launcher settings. anyone know what im talking about????? lol

I loved advanced launcher when i had my vogue. It runs alongside any other launcher, only adds some features i can't seem to find anywhere now, especially the ability to group apps in the drawer into folders WITHIN the app drawer itself...thus, no long lists of apps to scroll through. I was also able to temporarily hide apps that weren't used, putting them into a hidden file. Available to reuse whenever i wanted. Is there any way to bring this to 2.1 or Froyo? Here is the link to the original post of irrenhaus... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540880 (of few of his screenshots below)
or just import utilities portion?
I guess it is possible to include the launcher utilities into another launcher...

(post #879) ...but has anybody attempted this? or is anyone with knowledge willing to try to import it into one of the currently popular launchers that are incorporated into CM6?
really nobody can point me in any direction??
not sure if this is what your looking for, but i posted something that may be related to your request. I'm guessing that advanced launcher is different than ADW.Launcher. if yes, don't forget that adw allows for an extra set of menus by doing an upward swipe over the 'app drawer' icon.

i'm thinking that QuickDesk and/or SmartShortcuts may be of help.
quickdesk basically creates a desktop that is visible after a long press on the search button. you can can access this desktop at any time.
smartshortcuts allow you to 'group' applications, bookmarks and/or contacts.
the link above has some screenshots.

Hi!
Friends, I'm new to the forum and am looking for some ROM that has the option to hide icons, music, files, etc.
Smartphone see more and more as a personal computer, but always have a friend from work, personal friend, a family that wants to move out of curiosity on the smartphone. So look for ROMs that have the option to hide apps, photos, videos, music, files, or all that this smartphone. Example: You want to hide the game Angrybirds for a child to not see him and be done with the device's battery. The ROM would choose to hide the icon so it does not appear in the list of applications and only be accessed through an explorer.
Has anyone thought about it?
Does anyone know of a ROM that has this option?
Thanks,
Roka
Try look for an app on the market. I am sure there is something out there. I don't think (like 99% sure) that a rom doesn't include this. Have a look for an app.
Normally in cyanogenMOD there is an option to hide apps in the app drawer that you don't use often. They are not deleted but are hidden when you simply press app drawer, although they are only one click away from be seen.
CyanogenMod uses ADWLauncher not the default launcher by Google.
download adw launcher from the market. or flash cyanogen mod which comes with adw installed. open your app drawer and click menu. it will say create new catalog. create 1 then choose which apps u want in your hidden catalog

yea i know, and am using go laucher ex for time being but its not the same thing. se home is fast, sleek and clean. if i could add folder to prevent the launcher getting too crowded, it would be the the perfect home launcher, for me at least
thanks for answering though
Not sure what you are exactly after but what I did is created a folder on home screen, move all my applications to that folder and drag the folder to the bottom bar of the phone....
You can add folders to the pulldown, but if you're talking about a folder appearing when you press the menu button then I'm not aware of any mods for that. Folder organiser app lets you create a customized shortcut to a folder if you're looking to do that. Not sure that's what you're looking for, tho.

Sent from my LT15i
Ok i give, where does one find app iconsets to use with the widgets? i tried a couple i found on the play sotre, but as far as i can tell they only work with the launcher (like Nova or Apex) and are not usable for picking icons in Zooper. Unless there is another way of putting an app link in a widget that i have not figured out yet. I've been having to use text links and would like to actually use icons.
I was wondering the same. I have one icon pack that zooper will let me select from, but i have yet to find another that will let me pick from it when i'm choosing a bitmap. The only one is kitkat concept or something like that. I may check to see if any others from the same dev do the same later tonight if i remember. It is a paid theme, but none of the other paid themes i have will do the same.
This comes down to the devs of the icon sets supporting a certain android intent. Basically what's happening when you are going to select a bitmap, Zooper asks the systems "Ok, I want to get back a bitmap. Who can do that?" and the systems responds with the "select your app" dialog, that represents all the apps that can. If the author of an icon set included this option in his app it will show up here. If it doesn't you could use something like ThemeX to extract the icons you want from the pack to your sd card and select it from there.
I dont know who to give credit to but found this on the internet and it works so far.
Just a warning though, I'd suggest not deleting the stock-ish theme from the list as I do not know what will happen! Use at your own risk!
Bug 1. Google chrome icon does not change back to normal. To fix the icon on your home screen: Search google for chrome icon .png -> download -> long press chrome icon and single tap when you see the paint brush, open the one you downloaded. In fact the one I downloaded looked better than the stock one. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100301025455/gtawiki/images/2/2b/Chrome_icon.png
Bug 2. Messaging app icon does not change back also. (there is likely others)
Edit: The stockish theme it seems was this that I installed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.launcher2.theme.rocketg3
Still testing things.
Last update, I can use themes from LG Smartworld as well now, it just takes some convoluted steps!
Download the "launcherpro" app from the play store, you don't need the launcher itself, just its "Activities" widget.
Add the activities widget to your home screen it will give you a list of apps/functions of apps that you can add as a shortcut on your home screen.
If you scroll down to "Home" one of the options is "Theme" with the subtext "com.lge.launcher2.theme.LGThemeChooserActivity". Choose that option and you'll get a shortcut on your home screen that lets you change the theme(You'll have to install some first the phone only comes with the one default theme). If you get a menu with no options make sure you have chosen the right Theme option(my phone had two different Theme listings but the subtext was different only one says LGThemeChooserActivity).
