hi,
after 18 months in which i have used my desire with a1 (mobilkom) without any problem, i have decided to switch from a1 to bob austria.
and now the problems have begun...
my desire always shows "roaming", i know this is "correct" because bob is roaming in the a1 network, but this is not really good because i´m living near to the german border so i cant use the "data roaming option" without other apps and the risk of extra payments...
i have read about the method to add bob to the spn_conf.xml file to tell android it´s the "fakehome" but this method also doesnt work...
i have tested a few roms (eg. Insertcoin & LeeDroid), with this roms i also have the roaming "problem"...
does anybody know a propper way to change my roaming "problem"?
does anybody know a rom without this "problem"?
i hope somebody could help me out
CM7.1 has the option to enable "national roaming" (while keeping international roaming disabled).
But what happens if you select the A1 network manually? does it change network alone after a while?

Hi!
I don't know if you still have the problem, but maybe this helps you:

Hello everyone,
I'll get my Desire in 5 days and I have a question for all you that already has one.
I use "3 Italy" as provider and I need to know if there is a simple way on Desire to block data connection when the phone will go in roaming.
On my good old HD2 I've used NoDataInRoaming. There is something similar for the Desire (or the solution is built in the the phone)?
Someone has a solution?
Thanks,
ghale

Thanks mate,
I've not the manual with me because I've not the device but now I'm downloading (the italian version) it and I'll start to read it.
Thank you very much!
In Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks settings there is an option for data roaming, I think it is not ticked by default so the desire will not connect to data when roaming.
When you select to turn it on it gives a pop up warning that 'you may incur significant roaming charges'.
Hello,
thanks to you, too.
I've just find that on the Desire Manual.
Thanks.
Hi,
ever since xmas when I rooted my phone, it is in constant roaming mode, even if it shouldnt be because I am far away from the borders. I am currently using the 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 radio as it is the recommended one for Miui. I also had other radios when I used other Customroms such es DeFrost or Oxygen but they were also roaming only.
I even set to GSM only / EURO band in the "*#*#4363#*#*"-menu (or something like that) because I am living in Austria.
This is kinda annoying because I dont allow data roaming just in case I am in real roaming mode. Do you have any suggestions to solve this issue?
PS: my provider is bob / A1 and the apn is set to bob.at which should be correct
Hi I recently flashed my phone from Bada 1.0.2 to 2.0. I did different regions because the language pack doesnt matter too much to me. The problem now is all the 3g settings got wiped so I can make calls and all but the 3g internet does not work and I have no idea on the settings for them. My phone is an Israel Orange S8500. Anybody know how to help me ?
lol ofc nobody replied but I will do my job and update anyways. I think it might be a bada issue? Cause the 3g technically is working cause I did video calling which requires 3g as well as the email worked, and no I was not connected to wifi. Something fishy is goin on here lol and I would like help to figure it out...
did you check your network profile?
did you check your network profile in settings and manually enter your service provider's port address etc?
Hello!
My HTC Desire HD have recently a problem when trying to connect to a network provider. My service provider is Mobistar in Belgium.
When I attempt to connect to a network manually, I get “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network”.
I tryed the same SIM in another phone, it works fine.
I have already tried: changing the wireless band, fly mode on and off, factory reset, *#*#4636#*#*, removing battery. Two days ago i rooted the HTC (custom rom, new radio) but it is still the same...
Now here comes the odd part. If i remove my sim, put it in a different phone and switch that phone on, then remove again and put it back into my HTC, it works normally for a few hours.
Yesterday, i inserted a simcard from another country and it works perfectly. So if it is in roaming, it works...

Radio:12.65.60.29U_26.14.04.28_M
I don't know what is the problem, if anyone can help me, i appreciate
Thank you very much!
Does that provider use another network? Maybe need to turn on roaming (or change roaming settings).
Just a guess tho, goodluck with it.

Thank you for your answer.
I searched and i didn't find anything that says that my provider uses another network. (and i didn't find the roaming settings, just the roaming data on/off, maybe that is automatic)
My girlfriend have also the same phone (HTC Desire HD) and also the same provider, and she doesn't have any problems.
I don't understand why if i change my simcard to another phone and then put it back to my phone it works for some hours, till it says limited service...Then i can't do anything less then put it again in another phone if i want to use it again. Or use the simcard from my land (Portugal) in this phone.
The phone is from Belgium, unlocked, the simcard is from Mobistar. My portuguese simcard is from Vodafone Portugal and it connects to Proximus in roaming (another provider from Belgium).
Thank you very much. I hope to find a solution

Goodluck!

Ok, thank you very much for your help. I will try to contact my provider.
Hello everyone, first of all I would like to apologize because I am French and I don't speak English very well, but I think you are my last hope for the trouble I am currently experiencing.
I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975F) with a Rom Surcouche Operator Bouygues Telecom :
- N975FXXU4CTE9/N975FBOG4CTE9/N975FXXU4CTE9
I wanted to remove my Bouygues Telecom Rom Operator to install a Samsung Rom Stock without any overlayer operator. The operation is well finished so I am now on the Samsung Rom Stock:
- N975FXXS6DTI5/N975FOXM6DDTH7/N975FXXS6DTI5
Except that since this change of Rom I have almost no more 4G+ where I live knowing that before I was always in 4G+ So I would like to know why just by having changed the Rom I lost my 4G+. ( Worries which lasts since September 21st, 2020 ) I wanted to go back but I passed from a bootloader 4 to a bootloader 6
Knowing that I'm with the Free operator, I tested my Free SIM card in my wife's Samsung, I'm getting 4G+ so the problem is not my SIM card, I also sent my phone to Samsung, the phone has no hardware anomaly so it's from the change of Rom, I tried to reinstall the same problem, I also made the wipe I tried everything ...
I also have at home a 4G+ router with a 4G+ plan with the operator Free and I am in 4G+ at full speed ...
I hope to get some help from you because on the French forums I don't have a single answer ... Thanks in advance for your help and sorry again for my english
Test the internet speed on both phones using your sim's data plan with speedtest. If the speed is the same in both then the problem of the 4G indicator is only aesthetic.
Hello bigcalvin, unfortunately I have tested but the speed is not the same at all in 4G+ I go up to 235Mb/s while in H+ I go up to 3Mb/s so there is no problem with the 4G indicator

Have you tried in different areas? What it seems like, is that the stock Samsung ROM is not compatible with your carrier. With system on a chip (SoC), carriers can turn off bands that they don't need, or as a means of locking you into their network.

Honestly I'm not going to lie to you I've tried everything I've tried a Bouygues télécom rom (bog) a SFR rom (sfr) a France télécom rom (ftm) and a Samsung stock France rom (xef) with my old Bouygues télécom rom (bog) bootloader 4 I always get the 4G+ since I changed my rom and I switched to bootloader 6 I never get the 4G/4G+ again and I sometimes get the 4G+ logos but there are 10 seconds left and then switch to the H+. ..
Hello, sorry for the double post but I don't know where to find help you wouldn't have a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance
I don't understand anything anymore on this phone knowing that my wife and at free and I can receive the 4g very well. I have a 4g router, I can receive the 4g free and my phone since the update doesn't receive anything anymore, I have to go out of my house and walk a good 100 meters to hope to receive the 4g whereas I didn't have this problem before I made the really strange update...
No one would have a solution to give me or manipulation to do I take all the information.
Try a "reset network settings" if you haven't already.
Clear the system cache on the boot menu; it never hurts to do so.
Hi, thank you for your answer unfortunately I have already reset the network settings I have also done the factory settings system cache also reinstallation of a new rom I had to do it about twenty times but still nothing :/

Yeah pretty basic stuff... that's all I got
Most likely a settings issue but you probably know more than myself at this point to troubleshoot this problem.
Try doing Google searches and view the results for other Samsung phone models and years.
Most times I can find a solution like this or trip over it as an indirect result while searching.
Some of the Samsung software issues have been around for years...
I've already searched everything on google I'm French I've searched on English forums and everything but I can't find anything at all.
I am in France with the mobile operator "Free" which uses the frequencies 700mhz/1800mhz/2600mhz I would like to know if there is a possibility on this phone to choose the frequency that I want one by one I have the impression that it is my 700mhz frequency that has a problem on my phone :/
By using the free App 'Shortcut Master (Lite) from Google Play, you can get access to the Network Settings. In there you can make Band Selection, allowing you to test network connections and performance per band (=frequency) or combinations of bands.
See following thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...guide-hidden-network-settings-exynos-t3995501
Hope this helps!
Hello OnnoJ, unfortunately I have already tested with this application so it doesn't work. However I compared everything with my wife's phone a Samsung so I have exactly the same settings as on her phone ...
I have to go out of my house and walk a good 200 meters to hope to get 4G, however I specify that before I made this famous update I was always in 4G at home inside and outside of the house and this is not a concern of the mobile operator because otherwise my wife would have exactly the same problem as I have now and I would also have exactly the same problem on my 4G router ...
I think I've done everything and above all I've tested everything and unfortunately I had Samsung on the phone and they put the blame on the operator whereas as explained above my 4G router and my wife's phone have exactly the same mobile operator so they would have the same problem as me ... ...
I would try to revert to the newest firmware that your carrier uses, just to see if the issue is about the bands, search for the latest firm for your carrier, provided that it is of an equal or higher bootloader version to the one you currently have installed, that is what I would do
@thominekevin76000.
Not saying it may help you, but the application works fine for me to access network settings. I use it all the time, as it helps me at home and at work to make the optimum band selection for that specific location to prevent hopping between different cell towers and to have a stable and fastest possible 4G+ connection. CellMapper app allows me to see connection possibilities with the various cell towers and their power.
Hello winol, I can't go back to my old Rom because I had a bootloader of 4 and now I switched to a bootloader of 6 so I can't go back :/)
