I can search and enter the password but it stops at obtaining IP address. It still connects on my other devices so its not the wifi itself. I just rooted using the latest method with Odin. I tried the unroot with Odin method (which didn't even unroot) just went back to factory kernel (ok?). Also km not sure how to get my old version of Swype back so I can completely 4ever if I wanted to. Any advice would be awesome, thank you I'm advance.
Odin crawrj's odexed or deodexed with Busybox and root....depending if you will be using themes..then Odin bubby's pulled stock kernel or Chris41g's LoSt kernel or his stock with CWM kernel. I had same issue but with 4G and this method fixed it right up

I'd like to be stock, with a "stable"kernel.
I'm having a similar issue. I rooted for the first time this weekend, and my wifi will no longer connect. It starts scanning for networks, but then just turns off after a few seconds.
I messed up while rooting, so I had to unroot, update to EK02, then rooted it. I'm also running LauncherProPlus, if that helps.
Its been my experience that flashing a different modem version will alter everything from 4G to wifi to your connection strength to the sprint network. There is a good thread in the stickies section explaining how to do this.

Why are you still on a EH06 ROM? All the leaks had random reboot issues. Flash Legendary or ACS EI22 ROMs. Then use the Wireless Hotspot instead.
Def use wireless hotspot instead and update your modem. It should fix your problem.

There is no tar yet. You have to Odin the EC05 modem then flash the EC05toEI22 modem delta. All can be found in the modem thread in the stickies at the top of development. You need to get on an EI22 ROM as well. Random reboots are a problem with all the leaks.

go into the tether settings and disable auto 4g turn on, then use it proper and you should be fine.

OK this phone used to be great coming from a HTC hero but now I'm really starting to regret the purchase.
I'm fully stock with a EK02 Rom. You have to excuse my ignorance as I don't know what the different radios do. Anyway I'm sick of the phantom LOS and needing to reboot my phone only to find I missed texts. In addition the sound bug when trying to play games on rare occasions is just as annoying.
Are there any roms / radios that fix these issues? What about CM?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Flash either the EL26 or the EL29 radios and see if that fixes your issues, it did mine.
Is this just to fix the Los issue? Do I need to be rooted for this?

Check out the how to videos by QBKing77. He does a good job of explaining the how to process for almost everything.

This particular video shows how to install the EL26 Modem via Odin. I am pretty sure you don't need root to use Odin.

Yes, you need root to flash modems, kernels, ROMS, etc.. Shouldn't be difficult to do that, takes a few minutes.

definitely flash a new radio man. el26 gave me bad battery life. I am now on stock rooted el29 rom radio and rogue el29 kernel and no problems here!

Not really with Odin you don't need root to flash

I think if I'm going to go through the process of flashing a new modem I might as well root my phone as well. As far as I recall the only issue people speculated was root caused then LOS but if I already have that issue what does it matter
That said when I rooted my old hero I never used oden before. The little I have read suggests that oden will increase a flash counter that may or may not be looked at if your phone has an issue. I also thought I read there is a new rooting method that doesn't use oden and will allow me to keep everything stock? I'm not sure what the difference is? One installed a different kernal or something like that? And different kernals give different behaviors.
One thing I did before was a nand backup right after root so I could completely restore my phone. I guess I have some reading to do.

I can not figure out how to get my radio to work with VirginROM v2.5.5. I have looked through the development thread for this rom, and have not found any info about people having no network connectivity. What I have found were posts about intermittent LTE issues, which have not solved my issue of connecting to tmobiles network.
This is what I have done:
1. I installed VirginROM 2.5.5 with an older version of CWM.
2. I updated CWM to 6.0.4.4 and installed the rom, which did not work.
3. A friend had a similar network issue with his Note 2 and a kit kat rom. He told me to reinstall the rom again after the initial install, but this did not solve my network connectivity issue.
4. I installed previous versions of virgin rom and then updated to 2.5.5, and I still cannot connect to tmobile.
You need to ODIN flash the mk2 modem.bin file. Search in XDA or the thread to find it.

You must flash the modem if you are having any issues otherwise it is pointless for anyone at XDA to help you out since this is a remedy to a widely known problem. Try it first and report back if it persists.
For the hell of it, check your APN settings.

I personally flashed the Mk2 modem via odin. wouldn't hurt to check the modem settings on your phone either.
go to dialer (after flashing your modem) *#*#4636#*#* and ensure that your on the appropriate settings

What are the appropriate settings??? Excuse the noob question...
I posted what I'm about to post in the Q&A section already but I have yet to have a reply. I figured, why not try it here. Anyways, here goes.
Hello XDA community, my brother has been having wi-fi and bluetooth issues on his T-MO Note II ever since applying the 4.3 OTA. When I try to enable Wi-fi, it will slide to the on position greyed out, stay there a second, and automatically turn itself off. Before I go on, the first thing I did was use CF-auto root and flash both agni pure stock and devil kernel and neither of them have worked. In addition, I have used dr.ketans patch as well as flashing some AOSP based ROMs such as AOKP and SlimKat and neither of them have yielded any results. I have tried almost everything I can find via XDA and I am truly stumped.
Do you guys have any solutions to the wifi issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :good:

Thanks! I was just suggested the same thing by another user over at the thread I posted up on the Q&A section. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Hello xda community,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307355
I flashed Truelyclean (link above), a script that removes samsung bloatware but after, my phone would not connect to my carrier's 4G network anymore. I flashed the correct stock 4.4.2 firmware for Wind Mobile from Sammobile, did a factory reset, made sure network mode was set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM but it still would not connect to 4G. It only connects to 3G and HSPA+ which is less reliable on Wind's network.
Does anybody have a fix for this?

Thanks for leading me in the right direction. I flashed some M919 and other modems and it failed, so I checked if there was any modem files in the official firmware and they were there. I thought pressing phone would only flash the modem but it ended up re-flashing the whole thing but it works now. Thank you.

Well you're problem was solved, even if it was by accident. To flash a modem you need the actual modem file or you have to extract it from the firmware. The main thing is that your up and running.
You need to do back ups before you try flashing stuff, especially old unsupported mods, so you can flash back to a running state.
