Volume lowers automatically - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

At random times my volume gets automatically lowered. I am not sure what is causing this has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

Yea sometimes my notification volume its low....i think its when u get a message n u have the phone in ur pocket u might press the volume down button accidentally or something like that.
Tmo Galaxy S2

The overall volume of the phone's speaker for anything but music, even when turned to max, really seems too low to me. I have missed a number of phone calls and notifications because the volume was so low (on max volume).

Try this and see if it helps:
Go to Settings>Motion. Under Motion activation services try unchecking Turn Over. Mine was checked by default and I'm unchecking it now to see if that's part of the problem.

Official Roms and incoming call's audio level

I cant get to put the incoming voice level to completely minimum , or may be level 1 or 2, its always in level 3 and can increase it to max. is this new officil rom bug, or something wrong with my phone's hardware. which by the way was working perfectly with black majik rom.
did you install any applications? like phone alarm??
i have an idea to make sure the problem is not from the rom do hardreset and directly make phone call to see if this problem there or not!!
I had installed but removed it

I haven't notice that kind of bug (I can change volume from the bottom till top), but this is true that new ROM has much louder in-call volume, even with minimum level. I've pointed that already in some other thread.
But can u make it completely zero

What do you mean by 'zero volume'? Scroll the volume bar to the bottom, or mute volume completely? I can do both, actually, however muting is done by tapping a button on the screen.
I cant do that

I've just checked, and it is changing a volume while going down to the bottom, and I can hear a difference between level 3 and 0...
After reflashin rom still problem
i re-flashed the official extract rom from dopod, still the problem persists, of controlling minimum volume of coming call. it just doesnt go to the mininum volume of zero level.
I've the same problem. The volume slide can go up or down during calls but doesn't seem to have any effect to the volume that's coming thru the phone.

Audible touch tones ...

Audible touch tones just stopped working.
This morning when i used dial pad i've noticed that there is only vibrating without any sound...
I checked in sound settings and there is everything as it should be.
Is there any known solution for this, except master reset...
Thanks...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Ok, so i've managed to solve this...
this has happened when i pulled out my battery without turning off the phone 1st.
So i tried everything what came to my mind, like changing sound levels etc. manually.
Then another thing came across my mind..
pressed and hold power button, turned the phone to silent, then did this same and turned the silent mode off, and it worked...
Just to mention I've never before put phone to silent, and while audible touch tones weren't working, when i press some number in my dial pad, i could hear "something" on speakerphone, something like that action was made but melody was missing.
I was trying to find solution at google but without success, but i saw that there is a lot of people having the same issue, so i recommend to try this, what i've did...
cheers...
it not working for me, but i found solution,
download "audio manager" from market, you can see that, system volume is set to min/off
i set system volume to max and uninstall app, after phone restart tones still all right!

[Q] Where did my Silent go!

Ok so I know my way around a phone or too so I think this should be obvious but please if you can help me out here. I recently purchased the HTC Surround which I am beyond happy about, fantastic phone. However this seems to be an OS question more than phone.
I haven't found a simple way to have the Silent mode on without going to settings and disabling the Vibrate function. With Vibrate turned on if you hold down the volume key until 0 it switches to vibrate and there is no way of getting to full Silent mode. Can anyone help me with this if I am just missing something obvious here.
Thank you in advance
i don't think there is a silent mode as of yet. also, when you hit volume, you don't have to bring it all the way to 0, you can merely tap the icon on the right and it will flick between ring and viberate. though the problem with doing this i've found is that when you go into a game, the game still utilises the sound which i found a bit strange.

It's a bit annoying, but you'll have to go into ringtones and sounds in the settings and turn vibrate OFF. Then, when you go down to 0 it will be silent. You'll have to change vibrate back to ON when you want it back.
is there a way to set text messages and emails to vibrate? i haven't seen this in the emulator.

if you set the phone's profile to viberate, it quiets all the OS' built in notifications and typing and that. it does not however quiet apps/games sounds. only way to do that is drop the volume itself.
what i mean is on the normal volume profile can i sent a ring tone for calls, and vibrate for texts and emails?
not at present. it's still very simple on/off stuff for most, hopefully MS really goes through each section of the OS and brings it to the level of what is expected in high end phones.
Not an answer to the ops question, but if you press the down volume button, you can then click the "ring" icon and it will cycle between ring and vibrate (I would have expected silent there too)

Notifications Stuck on Silent

I have an incredibly annoying problem I can't resolve. I'm running Launcherpro and I also use Gosms, stock otherwise but obviously rooted. So anyway, my notification ringer keeps going silent with sound on, but worse is it gets stuck and I can't increase it no matter how I try without resetting. I literally can't do anything to it, the volume slider grays out. I've tried going through settings, using audio manager, and all have the ability to change the notification volume disabled. . Once I reset it it goes back to normal, but eventually and randomly goes back to silent and gets stuck. I have no clue what to do but it's obviously infuriating. I'd appreciate any help and I'm sorry my initial thread was in the wrong place. If any other info is needed please let me know. This is just an awful problem, really frustrating.
Is your notification volume linked to one of the others? Grab audio manager or similar from the play store. .. It shows linked volume controls and gives the option to un link

Figured it out... I had a Profile called "Night" selected under Profiles in the system settings. I toggled profiles off, and voila, I've got sounds again! Hope this helps!

Notifications get stuck on silent

I put my Note 10+ on silent at night and it's on vibrate when I'm at work.
When I put it back on sound via the pull down panel, often the notifications do not go back to full sound which is rather annoying.
Is this a known issue?
Personally, I use "Bixby Routines" to set the locations where phone is on silent/vibration and on sound.
The volumes stay as they were when it changes and it works seamlessly.
Like you said, at workwhere I need it silent, it uses GPS to determine where I am and changes to vibrate , when I walk through the door at home it turns all sound back on.
Neat little feature that is hidden on the phone like soooo many awesome things...

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely explore this. I have a lot to learn after 3 years with Huawei.

LOL, it's a new feature exclusive to Note 10/10+...
Tried to install Bixby Routines onto the Note 9 but it fails...
To find little nuggets of information and awesome features, youtube is your friend... 90% you may already know but there are always little surprises there too, like how to send an sms at a certain time even if you don't have your phone with you. Good for espionage... Also you can set a reminder from a received sms to sound at a certain time and the message will show up on the screen again.
Always learning....
I have this same problem. It's rather annoying
I have a similar issue, but, in my case ALL notifications sound, except gmail, I've been trying anything that I could think of to no avail, I finally gave up and made a macro to sound when a gmail arrives, it's just a work around, but works
Same issue when using Volume buttons and Bixby Routine
Please let me know when someone figures this out. It is rather frustrating! So when I use Bixby Routine it knows the location of my workplace and automatically changes my phone to vibrate mode and when I leave work it changes the sound to turn back on. The only issue is that everything goes back to normal (ringtone, media, system, Bixby voice) except for notifications!
Even if I adjust my phone using just the volume buttons instead of the Bixby routine it would change everything to vibrate but when I change it back the notification sound is the only thing that stays silent while everything else goes back to the setting I originally had it at.
Ugh... I already cleared my cache with the physical button I thought it worked but it went back to doing the same thing...
