This morning i made the mistake of checking for a PRL update out of Swags-Stock RC1 Rom. I was planning on switching to CM7 and wanted to check the radios just to be sure they were the latest *DUMB*. During the update check i got a force close error. I did not write down what crashed but ever since this force close, i can no longer access the 3g data on any of my nandroid backups. I've restored my stock nandroid and tried to update PRL info out of there and i also tried to push on the latest radio updates. Everything seems to go ok but still no data.... Any thoughts? The 3g symbol is displayed, wi-fi works and i can make phone calls still.
Fixed: I had to try several times, but eventually fixed the issue by one again nandroiding my stock rom backup, rebooting, updating PRL firmware through the stock rom. Back to normal after that
What if you didn't make a stock rom nan? How do you fix?

Go to the dev section, and there are a few threads of just stock rooted roms. Download the firmware to match your bootloader.

I flashed Ultimate Droid ROM and I have no signal. It's an AOSP ROM and I can't update through settings because the options are not included in AOSP ROM's.
Can someone please give me the file or direct me to a download link so I can flash in recovery?
I have to use wifi to get signal. When I power it off I get 3G connection and then it goes to no signal. Happy Thanksgiving by the way

as far as i know you cant flash prls in recovery. usually you flash a sense rom and then update prl and then nandroid back. of course, if could just be the ROM you flashed. go cyanogen if you want AOSP.
look here for other helpful info.

CM is childs play compared to this ROM. So the only way is to restore to my previous Fresh install and update PRL and then restore back?

Actually still having data issues.
So there is currently no way to flash a PRL?
I'm kind of new here and wanted to flash back to the stock rom how can I do this is remember downloading a bunch of files on my sd when I rooted is one the stock rom?
And also I wanted to do this to update all my pri prl stuff or whatever so if i nandroid backup back to miui backup will they stay updated? Thanks

Search for a thread that has posted the stock Rom rooted. If the only reason you are going stock is to upgrade prl,pri then any sense Rom current will work.

If all you're wanting to do is update your PRI/radios, you can just flash the latest radio package found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485
If you're wanting to unroot it then http://www.thedroiddemos.com/2010/09/10/how-to-unroot-the-evo-in-2-steps/
You should do a nand backup of your present before you flash the stock rom. If it's the one you originally saved it's probably named supersonic with a version number or something.
I didn't want to risk dealing with otas so I went with a different sense rom to do my updates for profiles and radios. Don't forget gps.
The updates you are doing can only be performed in sense rom but I am pretty sure they remain in effect for all roms installed thereafter. I mean miui is non-sense but the updates you are talking about will have effect without any special "backup."
I'm still not sure if the pri update to 1.9 is wise.
Why is it not wise? Another dumb question do u have to update ur pri/prl to get the latest 4g towers I really just wanted to update them to check if i get 4g where I'm at... thanks and ya sorry about the two post

Hi guys I'm new to the EVO and trying to help my friend out with his. Some background is it was on stock latest OTA .3. I unlocked bootloader through HTC's tool then downgraded back to 2.2 and used unrevoked forever to regain root/s-off. I then upgraded back to latest OTA rooted/tweaked from Team Notcurnals rom. The radio basically does not work, no 3g at all. In the 2.2 rom it worked fine. So I tried updating to latest radio/hboot/nv/pri etc. Through flashable zip Found on this forum as well. They all flashed fine and updated the radio, but still nothing works. It has the signal bar like its got a signal but no data whatsoever. Lastly I tried flashing Tiamat's kernel, but it would not even boot up with it (Stuck at white HTC screen).
Any help is appreciated, I come from the Incredible so never ran into these problems before.
First off tiamat is an aosp kernel not sense. Assuming you made a backup before you flashed the TN rom,I would suggest going back to that backup or a different rom and see if the dataworks. Are you wiping everything except SD card a couple times for safe measure? I would also suggest using amon ra for recovery.

Thanks for your reply, the data does work in the 2.2 rom I had on it before flashing the TN rom. I did not make a backup of it as I had just used the RUU to get it. so no Root or anything at that point. I can easily get back to it if need be. There is no data or anything that needs to be saved on this phone at the moment.
Is there a flashable zip for amon ra recovery? Right now I have CWM
EDIT: Found Amon RA, am flashing it now.

This is what I use and it has worked flawlessly for me. I use the 3.0.7
After installing new recovery
Just wipe everything twice except SD card and try reflashing your TN rom. If the data is still borked try a different rom or try downloading it again as it might've been a bad download.

Hmmm, still no data, but with another Rom i was able to very briefly connect to 4g, tried to open internet to see if data was actually working and it gave me a message "Oops - we experienced a system problem during your tas, please call at 1-800-927-2199 (business use) or 1-888-211-4727 (personal use).
Do I need to call them, or any other ideas?

Nope, no mms.
Is it possible having an old or wrong radio could do this?
Wat about the "Sprint Lovers" Rom it says it has a combo package, but its not up to date with latest OTA and also the download links are down on it too. Would that even help though is the question
Are you able to make calls? Did you flash myns warm 2.2? And was it borked on that?

I did not try Myns warm 2.2 yet, but I've tried about 4 other roms so far. I did update the Radio and such, but no profile or PRL (Thats the one within the phone under settings > system updates right?) When I try those it fails every time. It almost seems like a problem with the account with sprint or something at this point, I verified radio is up to date. I'm going to have my friend contact sprint about his account just make sure its still in good working order,
Phone calls dont work anymore either, it says "your account cant be validated" ... Maybe all this is just cause of his account.... I'll look into it now and post an update as soon as i find out.
if it says account cannot be validated, that means theres an issue with the account. either the phone is not on the account or service has been suspended.
Yup account issue, glad I asked if you could make calls lol

I really want to say thank you so much for your help. It would have taken me much longer to find this out otherwise.

So my GPS on T999 is no longer owrking. I have tried re-installing the current ROM. Installing other ROMs, everything, but I just can't get the phone to lock onto a SAT! It is really frustrating now as I need it really bad about a week ago and couldn't get out of the downtown lol.
CUrrently I am on the Aeon Fluxx ROM but the GPS did NOT work on the FROSTY, BLACK JELLY, AOKP, CM Nightlies, or ANY other ROMs anymore.
I have used GPS Status to reset A-GPS and then re-download the A-GPS data to no avail.
Any suggestions folks?
I believe there is already a thread about precisely this. Was posted maybe a week ago.

Thanks a lot guys. I love the quick help from this community. When I get off work tonight, hopefully I can get it to work properly!
Before I backed up my stock rom and flashed my current one (PACman) I updated my profile just to make sure that I was good to go for a while.
Does the profile updates/PRL updates done in stock stay once you wipe everything and flash a new rom? I'm wondering because I don't get quite the signal strength that I did in PACman that I did on stock and I have no way of updating my profile inside of PACman. But, if profile updates don't stick after a wipe, what good does it do to go back & forth?
I really wish a dev would come out with an apk for each major carrier to update profiles.
Yes it does stay. When changing modems you should update again though.

So, just restore back to my stock backup with my current modem and update...then, restore back to my PACman rom backup?

Can't Update Profile
I just recently installed a JB 4.2.2 ROM from rootbox and have been unable to get my profile to update, so in turn have been unable to connect to 3G. When I got to About Phone -> Sprint System Updates the update profile option dials *22805 which never activates my phone. It just dials the Sprint customer support number.

Well, I just flashed my recovery and it won't boot past the S2 logo now. Did I miss something?
Okay, more questions!
I tried restoring my nandroid I made after rooting/kernel/ICS modem and it appears to restore correctly in CWM and then it won't get past the S2 splash screen. I did it first without wiping/factory reset and it was a no go, and then I was duh...and wiped/factory reset then restored the stock nandroid...still no go.
What am I doing wrong? In the meantime, I just restored a PACman nandroid and that went just fine and I can use my phone again.
I've been trying to find the answer myself, but the only thing I've found is that the stock recovery has to be restored on the same version of CWM it was created on. How do I do this since CWM updated itself to v6?

You flashed the EL26+CWM kernel to make the original nandroid correct? then just flash that kernel (with PC or mobile odin, doesn't matter) and then restore the nandroid.
BUT, you can skip this if you want to stay on PACman. @bilgerryan has an app somewhere in the forum that attempts to add the sprint update functionality back in to AOSP. Almost everything is broken (including PRL write and Update PRL OTA), but Profile update works without a hitch.
ALSO, take a look at the gps link in my sig. I have a link in my OP there for how to set up multiboot on the Epic Touch. That way you can multiboot into EL29 to do things like GPS lock, PRL update, Profile update, dialer codes, etc.

Okay. Yeah, i want to stay on PACman but only need to update my profile to help my signal. Okay, I will try to find that app. My PRL is up-to-date so yeah...all I need to do is update my profile, but I'm with Virgin mobile. However, I did flash the FL24 modem (sprint). This will update my profile with VM?
I decided to just try your first fix where I reflash the EL26+CWM5 kernel and flash stock nandroid. After I'm done updating things and want to go back to PACman...I simply reflash the PACman zip (to get back my PACman specific kernel) and once restore flash a backup to get all my apps & things back, right?

Well, that didn't work for me. :/ I reflashed the EL26+CWM5 kernel in mobile odin and then restored the stock nandroid. This gave me the S2 splash screen and just sat there. So, I guess I have to find that app you spoke of.
Okay, I found it, and followed all of the instructions to the "T" and when I click on Sprint System Updates, it simply makes a phone call to Sprint with a voice menu. :/
Update: Okay, I see it is also in the app drawer, but the only thing that currently works is the MSL retrieval.
Sigh...
Download the kernel or the rom and just flash over your restore. Your eecovery is bundled with a gingerbread kernel. So the backup you made is trying to run a gingerbread kernel. Wont work. If you flash the rom over your nandroid it will boot. You will have all system setting restored though. It sucks. But it worka.

I'm feeling a bit dumb now...
I don't quite understand the first part of what you are saying. I do understand that my nandroid cannot run without the GB kernel I made it with. So, I did reflash the GB kernal with mobile odin and then went into CWM and restored the nandroid...still didn't work.
Am I misunderstanding?
Yes. After restoring the nandroid flash whatever rom you were on again. Do not wipe. So I believe you are restoring pacman. After your restore pacman. Use the same recovery, and flash the same pacman rom again. Basically you just need the pacman kernel. Not sure if there is a aseperate kernel somewhere. But flashing the rom over top without wiping anything will restore the kernel back to what its supposed to be.

Oh. Hmmm. But I made the stock nandroid with the EL26 kernel. I don't need that one in order to successfully recover my stock nandroid?
I think we are talking about two different things. I am NOT able to restore my stock nandroid. It gets stuck at the S2 splash screen.
Okay, new approach...
