Basically I was running stock 2.2 on my phone and did the usual steps to root it, unrevoked 3 ran all fine clockworkmod recovery flashed fine, booted up first time round fine. But then I flashed the most recent version of super user and now every time I try to boot it just gets to the HTC logo turns itself off and starts again.
I have tried backing up and restoring, wiping data, sd, cache, dalvik and nothign has helped so far. And I can run the RUU for my phone because it wont run unless I am booted into android, please help me ><
SERIOUSLY? You didn't even LOOK.. not going to mention about searching.. There are SO many threads that could have helped you.. but the most obvious one to me would be the big TROUBLESHOOTING one that is right on the top of everything.
Right, sorry I did quickly look but I panicked a little bit. I shall make sure I look more effectively in the future ^^
I would use ADB to flash the old super user apk, or to flash a new rom.

"I just flashed a new ROM, and it just stays on the HTC screen"
"My phone randomly rebooted itself and now it won't boot"
*This is a fairly common problem, and is solved very easily.
Possible causes of bootloops/ phone stuck on HTC Screen:
- You are S-OFF, and you have not got the correct partition table that is required for the ROM.
- Some ROM's require an SD-EXT partition, you either have not got this or have not done it correctly.
- For whatever reason, the ROM did not install properly.
[1]To fix a bootloop/ stuck on HTC Screen:
[STEP1]- do a battery pull to power off the device (as this is the only way to do so when stuck in a bootloop)
[STEP2]- hold the VOLUME DOWN button and the POWER button to boot into the bootloader
[STEP3]- use the VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons to navigate, and POWER to select. Navigate to RECOVERY.
[STEP4]- select "mounts & storage" and then select the following options
[STEP5]- format boot
[STEP6]- format system
[STEP7]- format data
[STEP8]- format cache
[STEP9]- format sd-ext (IF YOU HAVE IT)
[IF YOU HAVE A BACKUP]
[STEP10a]- go back to the main menu, select "back up & restore", select "restore" and restore the latest working backup.
[IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BACKUP]
[STEP10b]- go back to the main menu, select "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard", and flash a ROM which you KNOW works. If you have none, try my failsafe: CyanogenMod
- reboot system now
#PHONE STILL DOESN'T BOOT#
[IF YOU USED YOUR BACKUP, OR A ROM THAT IS NOT CYANOGENMOD]
- Repeat the process, and flash cyanogenmod instead of restoring a backup or a different ROM.
[IF YOU ARE USING A RECOVERY THAT IS NOT CLOCKWORKMOD 2.5.0.7]
- Download Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7.zip and place it in your sdcard.
- boot into recovery, select "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard" and choose "recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-bravo.zip"
- repeat [1] from [STEP4] onwards

Hi,
There are a lot of similar problems on this forum, but after trying a lot i still can't get my DHD fixed... I feel stupid atm..
It happened when trying to install the Sensation v2.1 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131063)
I followed the guide from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996
I started with making the phone Radio S-OFF and ENG S-OFF. This was succesfull.
BELOW are the steps from the flashing guide, the BOLD marked part shows the part it went wrong..
- Tell any people that might call you during the next 10-15 minutes to not worry
- Connect your phone using "Disk drive" to the computer.
- Copy both your full-wipe-1-3.zip and your rom zip file to your SD Card
- Make sure you copied them correctly
- Check again because once you full wipe, you won't have a rom.
- Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Install and open Rom Manager from the market
- Tap on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
- Wait for it to download (yes, you need a wi-fi or data connection)
- After it is done press "Reboot into recovery"
- If you get an icon with a phone and an exclamation mark in a triangle, remove the battery from your phone, reboot and then flash the clockworkmod recovery again
- Once you are in the clockwork mod recovery, you may use the volume keys as directional keys (up and down) and the power button may be used as Enter.
- I recommend you do a nandroid back-up. You must have at least 1 gb of free space.
- Select "Install Zip from sdcard"
- Select "Choose zip from sdcard"
- Select full-wipe-1-3.zip (It's right under those folders)
- Confirm by selecting the Yes option in between those "NO"s
- Wait for it to finish
- DO NOT REBOOT!!! In case you were not aware, you now have no rom installed
- Once again select "Install Zip from sdcard"
- Select "Choose zip from sdcard"
- Select your rom zip file
- Confirm your selection (just like with the wipe)
- Wait for it to finish
- Please reboot from the recovery menu and flash nothing else before you have rebooted
- Pop a champagne bottle, because it's done.
I was not able to select a file from the SDcard.. It kept saying "SDCARD NOT MOUNTED"
After that ive done some more:
- Format the card with SDFormatter and i've also tried in Clockworkmod itself but also there it said the SDcard wasn't mounted..
I've also read about a USB brick or something.. But to fix the usb brick u needed to put a file, update.zip, on your SDcard... which i couldnt load ofcourse.
At the moment i'm really frustrated because my DHD just wont start!!
It has no ROM.. At the moment it also stopped starting the Clockworkmod.. It shows a phone with a red exclamation mark when i press RECOVERY from Bootloader screen...
I hope someone can help me fix this DHD..!
Regards, Thijs
Actually, at the moment i dont care if the ROM i mentioned gets installed.
I'd be SO HAPPY to have the stock Android 2.3.3 with Sense 2.x back!!!!!
Oke it now for some reason found the SDcard and i succesfully wiped the device again with Full wipe 1.5 EXT4 and succesfully installed the Sensation rom.
At this moment the systems just won't boot.
It freezes at the first screen u see when you boot the DHD..
Anyone knows what this could mean??
I'm sure you have done this but I'm going to ask anyway.
Do you have a nandroid backup somewhere in your computer? If you do try mounting the SDcard with a cardreader...some laptops have a built reader. copy the nandroid folder to where clockwork backs everything up and try restoring from phone recovery.
Since you are hung on boot...see if you can do a factory reset and data wipe...a wipe sometimes clears a rom not booting. then again...I'm speaking with experience from other phones not the Desire HD or any HTC for that matter.
I had this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997
Download 2.29.405.5 ROM
then i somehow updated superuser to v.3.0.7 (41)...- lost root access..
then i flashed from recover this
http://anonym.to/?http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24435867/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
now it keeps rebooting / vibrating between black screen and htc while logo, what have i done?
Have you tried flashing it again? Have you tried searching? have you looked at the troubleshooting guide?
wipe everything
and try again
if u have the same issue ensure u have all requirements for the rom , HBoot/SD-ext etc
if you dont know what am saying
do what Bortak said
read the guide
will try 10b right away, is it ok?

What do you think? -__-
that's what i was affraid off.
My phone will not get past the first boot screen.
I am rooted with S-off.
I can charge, boot into recovery, and boot into the bootloader.
I tried to maybe install an RUU to get a clean slate but since the phone doesnt mount that didnt work.
I also put a PB31IMG on my SD to maybe boot a fresh update as well but it didnt seem to see it. Could be a bad one because I was able to downgrade the radio.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated. I dont have anything that is important so if I need to go back to stock that is fine.
Not sure if this will help - I'm not one of the super-experts on here, but when I first tried modding my phone (without the proper knowledge), I got stuck in a bootloop. I pulled the battery from the phone, downloaded a rooted stock rom from XDA and loaded it on my sd card. Put the card back in the phone, put the battery in, started it up and booted into recovery.
From there I took the usual steps:
Choose "wipe data/factory reset"
Go into "mounts and storage" menu and choose "format /boot" and confirm
Choose "format /system" and confirm
Go back to main menu and choose "install zip from sdcard"
I browsed to the Stock Rom I had downloaded from XDA and chose it - it worked and my phone went back to normal.
Hello!
I switched to "ON S-Unlocked" with the official procedure HTCDEV.
Now I would like to install the JIKANTARU, but I do not know how.
I made the partitions on the SD as indicated in the instructions, I downloaded the rom, I copied the sd and now?
Moreover, there is a patch in Italian?
Thank you!
you have to install ROM MANAGER first and install recovery.
after all backup your current rom from rom manager and then go in to recovery and install JikantaruROM.
Otherwise see this video
1. root your phone.
2. install rom manager
3. install CWM from rom manager while you backup your current rom it will ask for install it.
4. Put custom rom .zip file on your sd card.
5. Turn off your phone. Now, this is the important part.
Press the Power + Volume Down button simultaneously. (if you can't get it working, disable fastboot under settings)
You'll see the white bootloader screen and something will happen for about 5 seconds (don't worry, you haven't bricked your phone ). It's just a normal P76img.zip search. After that is done, select the "Recovery" option using the volume down button and then pressing the power button.
6. Wipe stuff
Congratulations, if you made it this far in one go
Easy stuff now.
Toggle using volume buttons and 'factory reset'.
Then 'wipe cache'.
Then go into advanced and 'wipe dalvik cache' and 'battery stats'.
7. Now select 'install zip from SD card'.
Then select 'choose zip'.
Then select the your zip file that you had placed on the root of your SD
Select 'YES' obviously
Let it do it's thing for about 4-5 minutes.
Once it is done okay.
Then, go back. Reboot. Have a heart in mouth moment and then watch the logo show up in a few minutes. You've done it successfully. Congratulations.

Hi, Jikantaru works great!
Last question: doesn't exsist an italian patch?
---INFO---
There are several ways to flash your android device. You can use Odin, ADB / fast boot and custom recovery to flash different types of files to your android.
Odin - Odin is used for flashing .tar or img files on the Samsung devices. tar and img files are usually complete roms, kernels or recovery's. Odin is installed on a desktop or laptop computer and flashes the tars from the computer to the device through the usb cable.
ADB / Fastboot - Fastbooot is what you will use to flash .img files. They are normally complete rom images, recovery's and kernels but there are a lot of other things that are flashed with fastboot. Fastboot is installed on a desktop or laptop computer and flashes the .img files from the computer to the device through the usb cable.
Custom Recovery's - Custom recovery's are used to flash zip files on your device. zip files can be used to flash full roms, kernels, recovery's just like the tar and image files but can additionally flash mods, fixes, custom tweaks and themes. The advantages are that everything is done from the device and not from a separate computer.
But this is a guide on how to flash in a custom recovery. More specifically, Clock Work Mod Recovery version 6.0.1.2. Each recovery's are slightly different but the basic things are pretty much the same. Navigation also varies between different versions. You have the touch screen and the non touch screen versions. Touchscreen is pretty self explanatory. The the non touch versions are are navigated by using the volume up and down and power to activate your selection.
On the US Versions of the Galaxy S3, recovery mode is achieved by pressing and holding volume UP, power button and the (physical) home button simultaneously while your phone is off. Watching the screen closely, release all 3 buttons as soon as you see the word Samsung. If timed correctly it will boot into recovery in about 10-20 seconds (after releasing). If you are too early or late the phone will boot normally and skip recovery.
NOTE - If you have a rom with an expanded shutdown menu, you can go directly into recovery by choosing it from the restart menu.
Caution - You should always make a Nandroid Backup of your configuration prior to flashing an unknown mod, kernel or rom.
NOTE - The first screen you see when starting cwm I will call the home menu and is the starting point for everything in this guide.
How to perform an Nandriod Backup or Restore
Backups and restores are done in the same way.
1. Select "backup and restore" from the home menu.
2. Select "backup to external (or internal) sdcard".
3. Wait for the backup to complete and then use you phones back button or the "go back" onscreen button to return to the home menu.
Note - Backups in CWM are incorrectly dated. You can change their names to something easier to identify by using a file explorer and renaming them. The name you choose must not contain any spaces. (Example: 11Dec2012_Stock). CWM saves your backups to internal or external sd depending on where you saved it to) clockworkmod/backups
How to flash mods, fixes, recovery's, themes and kernels in CWM recovery.
1. From the home menu, select "wipe cache partition" and confirm by selecting yes.
2. Select advanced menu.
3. Select wipe dalvik cache and then confirm by selecting yes.
4. Return to the home menu
5. Select "install zip from sdcard"
6. Select "choose zip from sd card" or "choose zip from external sdcard".
7. Select the file you want to flash and select yes to confirm. (if you don't see it, swipe the screen to scroll up and down)
8. After it completes, go back to the home menu and select "reboot system now".
How to flash ROMs in CWM recovery
NOTE - If you are going from a rom to the same rom that has been updated you often don't need to wipe data / factory reset and can skip that step. Additionally you can go even further by formatting system, data, and cache from the mounts and storage menu.
1. From the home menu, select "wipe cache partition" and confirm by selecting yes.
2. Select advanced menu.
3. Select "wipe dalvik cache" and then confirm by selecting yes.
4. Return to the home menu
5. Select wipe data / factory reset and select yes to confirm (This will delete all of your apps, passwords, settings and accounts.
6. Select "install zip from sdcard"
7. Select "choose zip from sd card" or "choose zip from external sdcard".
8. Select the file you want to flash and select yes to confirm. (if you don't see it, swipe the screen or use your volume up and down to scroll up and down
9. After it completes, go back to the home menu and select reboot system now.
