Hi everyone, I am using the deodexed stock rom JV5 2.3.3 for my Galaxy S1, I got a question on theme flashing.
Besides the theme for rom 2.3.3, can I also install others such as 2.3.4 JVQ JVT or the previous versions?
And, I am using the SPB shell 3D, will this or other launchers crash the themes I gonna install? If yes, can I resolve this by changing back to the default launcher?
Lastly, I always do a backup in CWM recovery, but does it secure the errors in framework-res too? If not, what should I do further?
Last but not least, forgive my bad in english and thank you very much for your help!!!!

SGSIL_PLX_JPY_V3.0 FullHebrew
and when i try to download a theme from the forum my device stuck in the opening screen and do nothing until i restore him.
im tired of this how do i optimize the themes for my rom?
Many themes are not supported for all ROMs.... and I wonder what ROM that is you are using, never heard of it ....
Ask on the thread if it supports your ROM before you flash a new theme
Peace
get either doc's or darky's rom. most of the themes work with their roms.
i from israel and its more comfortable for me to use hebrew ROM cause its my language and all my contacts and all those things...its still a JPY ROM and im sure that there is a way to optimize themes for this specific ROM
Hello All;
I want to add some modofications to my official Android 2.3.3 (ODEX) version, these modifications include:
1-crt screen off animation
2-battery with %
3-extended power menu /reboot,recovery,download mode
4-the 5 lockscreens
Kindly help me with an easy way to have them installed in my SGS1 2.3.3
Thanks
Most mods only work on deodexed roms. Is there a reason why you must use odexed? If it's about voding your warranty, any of the things you are attempting to do above will also void your warranty.
OK, if I want to use a Deodexed version, will it be stable?? will it affect the performance of the device??
Is there any link for a Deodexed Android 2.3.3 that is stable and without any problems.
What kernel do you advice as I'm still new to Android OS
thanks and regards
You can use jkays theme with odexed, look for thread, you get different themes and power options available via a free app.

I just rooted my phone, flashed superuser and backed it up. Now I installed a theme, but after it gets passed the 4G screen it makes me force close a lot of apps, did I install it wrong? PLEASE HELP!
You installed a non compatible theme most likely. Restore your backup
Having trouble with AOSP? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295702
How do I know if it's a compatible theme?
Most themes say which rom its for. If you were on the stock rom you need to find a stock rom theme
We're comin from a pure power source.
Damn, sorry I'm a noob, how do I know what stock Rom I have
Well, if you just rooted then you probably have the basic odexed ROM. Most of the themes are for deodexed ROMs.
Please correct me if the theme is for odexed, but I am guessing that is the problem. If you didn't make a nandroid you may have to flash your first custom ROM

nandroid shows up in the boot menu, and i flash the theme. Is there any sites you guys can recommend for themes?
2.3 root
hboot 2.16
How do I find if the ROM type and if it's Odexed?
If you haven't specifically flashed the stock deodexed rom, it's odexed. You'll need to flash the stock deodexed rom to be able to theme. The themes will need to be made specifically for stock, Sense 2.1/3.0, CM7/AOSP and MIUI themes won't work.
If you want more themes, you'll be better off flashing a custom rom. I'm not sure about the availability of Sense themes, but CM7 and MIUI have theming built in. These are both AOSP roms, they're not Sense which is what you're used to. MIUI is my personal favorite, and definitely the most themable.
You can always make a nandroid backup and try out different roms/themes. If you don't like what you flash, just restore your backup or keep flashing until you find something you like.

Hello
I'm a owner off a 1 year old Sony Experia Arc LT15i
I spend a whole week learning and reading about unlocking the bootloader, rooting and flashing custom rom's. I finally succeeded without any problems wat so ever.
I'm using:
- ArcKnight kernel 3.5.1
- Jelly Sandwich 4.0.1
Now my question:
When i had the stock firmware GB 2.3.4 i had emoticons in my sms app. Smilly's, hearts, shapes, ect. With the new custom rom i lost the ability to see these emoticons in my text based messages.
- How can i get back to the stock message app without going back to the stock firmware?
- How can i install themes that change the collours in the sms app and icons and background of the menu's?
thx in advance
Welcome to XDA, i suggest you check in the themes section. Btw you're title is kinda of misleading....
Read the tuts in the forum, and learn whatever you can about modding and such and you'll see that the best ROM is the one made by you!
Ask your question in the Rom thread where you got jelly sandwich.
