[MIUI official]android : 2.3.5
is there any zip to restore the old market? I am afraid that flashing other version of old market will not function at all
the new market is very kiddy and lag, hate it
thanks
you can find it anywhere, however if you still have /system/app/MarketUpdater.apk, then it will upgrade itself again. You can uninstall updates from manage applications but again, it will update almost immediately.

I want to preface my questions by fully acknowledging my complete ignorance on this subject. Nothing is worse than someone who won't do their own leg work. I've hesitated posting these questions just because I didn't want to waste anyone's time. However, after spending literally hours I just ran out of options. I'm turning to the geniuses on XDA for some help.
I have the CDMA (Sprint) version of the Touch Pro2. I just installed the latest 2.2 build (the one that supports the external speaker).
There are 2 questions.
1. Is accessing the Marketplace for paid apps possible with the TP2 and this build of Android? If so, what changes do I need to make to my device to enable that capability. Right now I can only see free apps.
2. I was trying to get Flash to work. It doesn't show up in the Marketplace. I tried to install the apk file from a thread on this forum (can't post the link as a new user). However, I received a generic failed installation message. I also tried using SkyFire 2.3 (BETA). But when I navigate to a site with Flash on it I see a little box telling me to download Flash Player.
I really appreciate any help that I can get on this. Again, I apologize if I missed earlier discussions on these topics.
For the paid apps you have to download the market enabler. It's in the faq http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/faq Look for "I can't see any paid apps available for purchase in the Market."
I don't know if you can get flash enabled because we haven't got 3d working yet.
Thanks
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your time in answering the questions. I'm installing Market Enabler now.
First Question <-------- Solved!
I am currently on Softbank in Japan using an HTC Desire I received as an upgrade. I mainly bought it to tether at work and use Skype on 3G as I don't have internet, and I like to keep in touch back home.
So I rooted the phone, and installed the latest version of Open desire.
After doing so, I noticed the battery life was terrible. Reading a thread on this forum, I read a vague answer on why its being caused, and an even more vague fix. (I can't posts links)
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781493&page=3
Is there a way to manually perform the modifications Softbank made to their Android ROM's? Except as a patch on my already installed ROM?
Second Question:
Also, though I really enjoy Open Desire, I really like the apps that came with the HTC Softbank Desire (mainly the calculator, Contact manager and the clock/weather).
If I install the updated Softbank 2.2 Froyo on my phone, can I just pull all the apps I need with the SDK and ADB.exe? Then re-install the apps on my Open Desire ROM after I flash back with my Nandroid backup?
Made my questions more organized.
thought I'd bump to see if anyone knows.
still looking.

First of all, I think you posted in the wrong subforum. This should be in Q&A I think...
Second, since you are not rooted, you will not be able to move all apps to sd, only if the developer of the app has programmed the app to be moved. Check out SD move: http://www.appbrain.com/app/sdmove/com.beaglebros.SDMove. It shows you all the apps that can be moved.
Concerning the t-mobile, I don't know. Check whether you have updates then you'll know...
-edit- move to SD only works on 2.2 though...

Hi All,
I would need your help in case of Market application.
I have following problem:
- I cannot start Market, because when I try it I receive a warning message: "The linked program is no longer installed on your phone". This message appeared suddenly for one day to the another. The icon and its name were changed on the screen (com.android....). I didn't modify anything, and for some days I haven't been on the Market... The system is original android 2.2, and it's not modified (ROM,etc.).
My question: What can be the reason of this problem? And how can I reinstall this application or what should I do with it?
Thanks for the feedback and the help in advance!
Uttika
Uninstall the market application under applications. Then download market and install it again:
New 3.0 market
Old 2.3.6 Market
It's your decision which you use.
Go for the new!!! Its much better
Thanx a lot Guys...

Awesome, mate, I was about to start a thread asking where I could find this!
Looks nice, but I'm terribly confused! I'll get used to it, though!
The only bad thing is that the new one is more graphics rich... so takes longer to load especially on data connection not wifi!!!
Hello,
Since I update my Desire with the official Gingerbread version (2 months ago), the Market is still with the old version and never updated automatically.
It seems like the Market will not update to Google play either.
I would like to know if you have the same problem.
Thanks.
David
Deal with it man. Since you are on stock rom, you probably wouldnt like the file size of the new market (Play Store) anyway. About 4MB is the size. But if you insist, a good searching on XDA should get you the file for you to update manually.
via xda app
For me it always takes a couple of days.
Google does not rollout to all gazillions android devices at once, there are some device specific delays.
So most of the time I update manually by downloading the APK which is always posted in blogs and forums.
It's safe, because your android will only allow updating system APKs which are signed by the same key as the original system package.
