...:::YOUR BATTERY'S ANTIDOTE IS BEING DISPENSED BY:::...
<<<<---------<<TEAM VeNuM>>--------->>>>
PERMANENTLY DISABLE BATTERY-DRAINING SERVICES:
INTRO
After receiving permission from RandomKing, I began adjusting his SUPERFREEZE script and successfully ported it over from the OG Epic 4G to our Epic Touch 4G! It basically takes four specific commands(listed right below this intro) and combines them into one, single word, superfreeze, which can then be used instead to execute their actions. The script is used to PERMANENTLY disable all four services managed by the commands(the services being DRM, SYSTEM UPDATES, MEDIAHUB & SOCIALHUB). In addition to superfreeze, superdefrost(used to re-enable the services) is added to the bin folder as well. And to give you any idea of how well your device may perform after disabling these services, last night my phone drop only 1% b/w 1am - 7am, thats 1% every 6 hours!!!
This is what superfreeze actually does for you:
Code:
[B]pm disable com.sec.android.providers.drm(DRM)
pm disable com.sec.android.socialhub(SOCIALHUB)
pm disable com.samsung(SYSTEM UPDATES)
pm disable com.sdgtl.mediahub.spr(MEDIAHUB)[/B]
[SIZE="1"]****not yet added BUT is highly recommend to execute the following command****[/SIZE]
[B]pm disable com.sec.android.app.sns(SNS)[/B]
The purpose of this post is to save your battery as much juice as possible, so if you would rather not download this mod and flash it through CWM, you could just type the above commands in a Terminal emulator. It will take you all but 1-2mins, without the need of downloading and installing any 3rd party apps that will not only take up space, but will also use up your battery and system resources. The end result will be the same, which is to PERMANENTLY disable the following services, only using these commands/script is free, and requires no battery or system resources to maintain them disabled!
SERVICES AFFECTED BY USING THE MOD
-DRM-
Digital Rights Management - I haven't noticed any difference when playing back streaming/downloaded media. Disabling this, or any other services listed below, will not have an adverse effect on your system, besides that on battery life, BUT REMOVING them may cause issues....
...:::UPDATE - Since Starburst v1.8 has removed all of these mentioned services, there's no longer a need for a separate version. Just flash the ROM and these services will be DELETED from the get-go BUT proceed with caution as random reboots are present. FYI I'm currently on another ROM which also has the lock mod and none have reported ANY reboots yet:::...
-SYSTEM UPDATES-
When using a custom ROM its best to NOT update using anything that is OTA distributed, so why have this kept running?
...:::Only if you need to update PRL or PROFILE, listed under SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>SYSTEM UPDATES, do you need to re-enable this service using the superdefrost command:::...
-MEDIAHUB-
I have never used this app and it too is contstantly listed under RUNNING APPS
-SOCIALHUB-
Have only used it a few times w/ my text messages, and being that its constantly listed under RUNNING APPS, I'd rather have more battery life and disable it
....::::NOT YET INCLUDED(working on having more than four disabled in one shot)::::....
-SNS-
Social Network Services - does NOT effect the Facebook app available in the Market. Is usually listed as a cached process, so even though it may not be consuming as much battery as the rest of these services, it is using some and system resources.
As of now, the script is only allowing four services to be successfully disabled. Whenever an addition line of command is entered it combines two and causes errors. In the meantime, to save more battery life, enter the command listed above, found underneath the INTRO, to disable the SNS service
DISCLAIMER: Use at your own risk. In no way, shape or form will any member of Team VeNuM or myself be held responsible if anything were to happen to your device or your life by flashing anything posted on here!!!

I'm running SB 1.7 (great rom) and when I check under running it only lists social hub. Is there a way to just remove this via root explorer to avoid having to use this mod?
Hi there,
This seems cool but I had a question.
If you're stopping SNS, media hub and social hub... If I'm using the application autostarts (which allows you to control when an app/service starts based off actions i.e.- sms sent, boot up, outgoing call etc)... Do I really even need this?
Seems like this is doing what autostarts does but it's free?
Thanks for the feedback and good work!!
Thanks, giving it a try!
tried, after putting in the command, it only said that the hub was disabled. and in running services, drm was still going...
also, would i have to reenter this everytime i reboot or is it perm?
...also.. question, when you said that only 1% is lost at night, is that with 3g and everything off? my battery isnt astounding because i use it aaa lottt , but when i go to sleep, i turn data, background, etc. off and wake up with only 1% lost also...

did you download superfreezeALL? That one includes the command to disable the DRM service....No ,its a permanently changes the status of the services...And I didn't shut anything off. The only thing I did was maybe remove all widgets, but I actually received a text that woke me up...

What this does is PERMANENTLY disables all four of those services, w/o having to deleting them...Im not too familiar w/ autostart, but from what Im reading, its preventing these services from starting during specified actions, however, if an action that is not listed/controlled by that application takes place, the service will start vs the mod not allowing the services to start at all, during ALL, listed and unlisted actions...hope this helps, and thanks!

Not through Root Explorer but through a terminal emulator...I will post the individual commands in a minute, along w/ some screen shots
flashed http://www.mediafire.com/file/13y1376i5jbu66d/SuperFreezeStarBurst.zip. Said it was successful. Rebooted and fired up terminal emulator, su, superfreeze and it displays superfreeze: not found. Will try to reflash...
BTW, running StarBurst 1.7
edit2: reflash worked. Will report back on battery life. Thanks
Cool, giving this a shot now. Will report back.
Quick question since i have TB donate and can deep freeze stuff there why can't i just do that?
Nice work.

Yea, I posted in OP that the 1st flash may give an error and to reflash w/o reboot if possible, its kinda hard to tell unless your looking for it, unfortunately I can't take a screenshot of CWM but it basically says "install aborted" at the very end of the flashing process after everything else goes through fine...Im glad you got it to work though!

What does deep freeze do? Im not familiar w/ TB....all I can do ATM is advise you that this mod is free, and it will PERMANENTLY disable all four of those services, never allowing them to be ran/turned back on for ANYTHING, no matter w/ action is taken or what app is opened, it will remain disable unless you re-enable it through ADB or a terminal emulator
Wanted to check this out with viperrom and it flashed fine first try but i got a couple errors/permission denied when i ran the script so i thought id post the screenshot and see what you guys think

Hello All,
Here is a stock repackaged firmware to be used if you enabled SDE like described here.
To install it:
1) Extract zip file content
2) Copy rooted_withsu.squashfs.secure to internal storage root. You can do it the usual way or with adb with this:
adb push rooted_withsu.squashfs.secure /data/media
3) Reboot
4) On boot menu, select "Recovery system"
5) Select "developer edition menu"/"flash kernel and initramfs"
6) A drive should appear on your PC, copy zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz to it.
7) Select OK, the kernel should flash.
8) Select OK to reboot.
9) Select SDE in boot menu, you should be rooted and SuperUser functional.
Download firmware here.
And let me know if it worked for you,
LeTama

All working for me too. Good work people
How do you get to "developer edition menu"/"flash kernel and initramfs"
Currently if I press and hold power / volume down to boot I get 3 options. Android, Developer Edition and Recovery System. If I select Developer Edition and press the power button it comes up with Booting Developer Edition and then appears to reboot this then loads standard android.
Can I just check that im doing this correctly?
Thanks

Lol. Im a dumbass... Recovery menu then developer edition menu.
My bad, as I don't have the boot menu, I didn't write proper description:
On boot menu, select "Recovery System" then you'll see a menu with the "developer edition menu" entry. First post modified to reflect that.
All done . If I boot developer edition I have root, If I boot standard I dont - Thank you very much
One thing I note is that superuser apk doesnt retain its memory after a reboot.
So far i have just tried a couple of tools that reboot / shut down your archos (as for me thats all im desperate for doing as im installing the device into my cars dash and have no access to the button). Reboot and Shutdown works fine, but if you ask for the bootloader it seems to mess up - will look at writing something fresh anyway as all I really need is the ability to send it to sleep on ac power disconnect

Ok, I believe I know why you loose settings: If you reboot into "regular" android (ie, without root), android detects that the superuser application was removed from the firmware and removes associated data. I'm not sure I can do anything about this, don't boot into regular android is probably the best advice I could give
After all, no need to go there anymore.
Wow, thats a real help many many thanks. If i call reboot_into -s sde post booting then it should always boot back into sde even if it boots off due to battery power yeah?
I know im a bit of a noob when it comes to android (been a windows coder for a while).
There isnt a way to put the device into "deep sleep" using the command line is there? Basically the whole aim of rooting this device for me is to make it so I can either put it to sleep or power down when external power is removed. I should now be able to shut it down, but id like to make it "sleep" instead if possible as that will come to life a lot faster. The aim being that i will add external power when i flick the key in my car (waking the device up), and then when i switch off it will lose power and be put into sleep mode. If the battery dies then it will recharge when i flick the key again and do a full boot anyway - which i should be able to force into sde as above.

Well, I didn't check power management much in these new kernels, but first, I'm not sure I understood the purpose of this. What differs from the normal power management ? I would do this: "Screen/Timeout 15 seconds" (to power down quickly), and "Application/Development/Stay Awake" (To keep screen up while power is on) ? You add on top "About tablet/Power Management/Deep sleep" for better sleep and you're good ?
Thats what I do currently, but there are times that it doesnt go to sleep. I will be using as a media player, and if you have music playing the screen will go off but leave the music playing which will stop it from powering down, although i can probably kill any running apps on power off. Also I use the full size USB slot on the back to connect a laptop hard drive - and ive noticed that it seems to wake the device up when you just turn off the screen, but doesnt if you hit the power button and tell the device to sleep. Ive played with settings related to the USB port but no luck so far with that one. Sorry for hijacking the thread though - i got a bit off topic.

I see. I'm not a power management expert, so maybe someone could give you better advice.
One other lead I could give you: do you know /sys/power/wait_for_fb_sleep ?
This one is nice, a cat on it will be blocked until the screen goes off. It doesn't solve your usb drive problem, but you could use it if you need to be notified that screen goes off.
I'll take a look at kernel source code to see if I can find something.
thanks lekama so much
after step 8) Select OK to reboot. after reboot, it boot normally and i didn't saw any SDE in boot menu to choose it. plz help ^^.

Not with this firmware, this is pure stock with exactly the same way of of mounting system from a read-only squashfs.
You have two solutions, repackage your own squashfs or modify the initrd to mount an ext4 image for instance.

It is rooted. You can run any rooted application with it.
However, as I explained above, this firmware is pure stock with the same squashfs method meaning read-only /system. It's more like a proof of concept that SDE works properly.
I don't have much time to maintain builds and I'd prefer someone else to come up with one, but if nobody does, I'll do one running on r/w ext4 image.
Thanks. Is there any known way to bypass the 256 byte Archos security signature?
//Edit: In the squashfs, I mean.

Preface:
The Galaxy Nexus (GT-I9250) is a touchscreen Android smartphone developed by a partnership between Google and Samsung. The phone and operating system were developed collaboratively by engineers from both companies. It is the third generation successor to Google's previous flagship phones: the Nexus One and Nexus S. The Galaxy Nexus has a high-definition (1280 × 720) Super AMOLED display with curved glass, an improved camera and has an unlockable bootloader to allow further development and end-user modification. Nexus devices are the first Android devices to receive updates to the operating system. The name of this smartphone is the result of co-branding between the Samsung Galaxy and Google Nexus brands of Android smartphones. The device is known as the Galaxy X in Brazil, however, due to a trademark on the "Nexus" brand.
The Galaxy Nexus was unveiled jointly by Google and Samsung on October 19, 2011 in Hong Kong. It was released in Europe on November 17, 2011.
It is one of the few phones recommended by the Android Open Source Project for building Android from source.
The Galaxy Nexus is no longer available for sale on the Google Play Store as of October 29, 2012 with the announcement of its successor, the LG Nexus 4.

OTA 4.3 (JWR66Y)
Google begins to roll Jelly Bean 4.3 on Gnex which have some notable modifications but not at the level that users expect. Not as usual, OTA begun to roll first on yakju build not takju. Users who already got their hands on the latest firmware update have reported what is new:
- More secured ADB. (as 4.2.2)
- Fix the Bluetooth audio bugs.
- Better battery performance noticed.
- Performance enhancements.
-System UI lag also gone.
-Camera rotation lag is reduced.
-Dial pad autocomplete, can be enabled from call settings.
-you will notice more ram freeing.
-Google Hindi Input is added in "Language and imput".
-supporting of App Ops (optional permissions), see here.
** 4.3 supports now "OpenGL ES 3.0" for High-Performance Graphics and "Connectivity with Bluetooth Smart devices and sensors" and "Optimized Location and Sensor Capabilities", but unfortunately, our devices does not support it.
Support for "Restricted Profiles" is only for Nexus tablets
Did you install Android 4.3 on your Nexus device? Have you noticed anything new in Android 4.3? Please post it.

Questions & Answers
Q1) I didn't receive OTA update and i am on unrooted stock firmware?
A Go to Settings > Apps > All > Google Services Framework, clear data, then go to Settings > About phone > System update > Check now. repeat procedure many times.
Q2) Kies program does not recognize my Gnex, i want to update firmware?
A Gnex firmware is not supported by Samsung Kies. it is updated directly from Google.
Q3) Can i make a screen shot on stock firmware?
A Yes you can! user doesn’t need to root the device or employ third-party apps just to take a photo of what's happening on screen. Taking a screenshot is simple, just press the volume down and power buttons together. The device will quickly take a snapshot of the screen and you will find it in your notifications.
Q4) What is Barrel Roll?
A As part of Google's regular antics, it had introduced a "barrel roll" trick for desktop browsers. Type "do a barrel roll" as a search term, and Google would demonstrate the power of modern browsers by flipping everything around on your screen. Your Android device can also do a barrel roll if you speak out the same command. Again, It's great fun to show off.
Q5) How can i uninstall an app. without going to setting?
A Long-pressing on an app within the app drawer pops up a couple of menus along the top of the screen. App Info gives you the boring technical stuff about how much memory it's taking up, or you can fling it off the other way to uninstall it.
Q6) How can i go directly to the quick settings menu?
A expand notification bar by sliding two fingers.
Q7) What is inverted rendering?
A Inverted rendering is a posh way of saying it makes the pages black and turns the text white, so it looks like you're reading the internet from 1997. It also supposedly saves battery, plus is easier on the eyes if you're reading in the dark. It's under the browser's settings tab, within the accessibility area - and there's a contrast slider, too.
Q8) How can i reboot into safe mode?
A Safe mode, the savior of so many Windows PCs! If you are experiencing a problem with your Gnex and you want to determine whether it is being caused by a third-party app, long-press the power button, then long-press the Power off option. Choose OK to reboot in safe mode, which completely disables all third-party apps on your device. If the problem goes away when you’re in safe mode, you should reboot your device and start removing recently installed apps until the problem goes away.
Q9) What does reset app. preferences means?
A Android gives you loads of different options for each installed app, and on the whole this is a very good thing. Sometimes it can be a bad thing, though: you may find your phone playing up because a crucial app has been disabled, or you've changed the notifications for something important like emails. In the apps drawer, you'll find Reset app preferences under the settings. This resets all your apps on a global level, returning actions and data settings to their original levels.
Q10) What is imojis?
A "Emojis" are the Japanese version of emoticons. You can enable emoji support for the default Jelly Bean keyboard by choosing Language & input in the settings app, then going to the settings for the stock Android keyboard. Here, choose Add-on dictionaries and select Emoji for English words. When you next type certain words (there's a complete list here) you'll see its symbol appear in the predictions bar.
Q11) What is the difference between takju and yakju?
A These android builds are almost the same but there are some differences in terms of their android updates. Takju: Mobiles which brought from Google play store in USA and come with a Google wallet pre-installed. In these devices, android update is pushed by Google itself and they are almost first to receive an OTA update. Yakju: Mobiles which brought from Google store but outside of USA, update are also pushed by Google, but this update might delay by some days or weeks. So, do check your android build if your device is running android build other than takju, then change it in takju build to an OTA update first.
Q12) How do i know what is my Gnex android build?
A Download Android System Info application from play store or you can check it from Maps>setting>about.
Q13) I can not see Developer Options in settings?
A Google hide this option, to enable it just go to settings---->about phone, tap 7 times on "build number" and it will be shown in settings.
Q14) how to make apps, data and sdcard backup & restore?
A Refer to post # 286.
Q15) I received 4.3 OTA update, ADB can not recognize my Gnex. What should I do?
A Download and install Android SDK, if you already have it on your PC just update tools and platform-tools. you must have latest ADB version (1.0.31). If you do not want to install Android SDK, download attached file (thx to xaueious).
Q16) How can i make my Gnex feel snappier?
A By speeding up (or disabling) the animated fade-in effects you see when switching between tasks, you’ll see a boost in performance and faster screen transitions. Start by unhiding “Developer options” as described above. Once in “Developer options,” scroll down to the “Window animation scale” and “Transition animation scale” options and set both to .5x. You can even turn each of these off and transitioning between apps and pages will be almost instant. If you ever want to go back, remember the defaults for both of these settings are 1x.
Q17) How can i improve my gaming graphics?
A If you are a hard-core gamer, you probably already know what 4x anti-aliasing is. First, enable Developer Options as described above, then go to Settings and click on Developer Options and enable Force 4x MSAA. Multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA) is a technique used to improve image quality. Since the Gnex has a GPU capable of supporting MSAA, this setting should make your graphics look more detailed when you are playing advanced games. Keep in mind this will also cause your GPU to work harder and your device may get hotter and consume more power than normal. It’s also possible that all games may not support this.
Q18) I want to see Jelly Bean on my screen, can i?
A Yes you can, go to settings---->about phone tap quickly 4-5 times on android version, you will see a big Jelly bean, touch and hold it, you will see small flying Jelly beans.
Q19) How can i customize my LED notifications?
A A free app called Light Flow Lite allows you to take control of the colors of your notification LED. It also makes your Gnex flash one color after another. This app allows you to set the notification color for over 250 applications and system events including missed calls, low battery, no signal, voice mail, calendar reminders, Gmail messages, email messages, SMS messages, MMS messages, Twitter notifications and more.
Q20) How can i put my Gnex in fastboot/recovery mode?
A Turn off your phone, press and hold down Volume Up and Down keys + Power button at the same time until fastboot (bootloader) mode (image of an Android with Start) appears then release the keys. Press volume up or down and select recovery by pressing power button. (For stock recovery, when you see an android logo with exclamation mark, press power + volume up to see the recovery menu).
Q21) How can i put my Gnex in download mode (odin mode)?
A Turn off your phone, press and hold down Volume down + Power button at the same time until odin mode appears then release the keys.
Q22) Why google voice search is crashing when i press on mic when i am on a custom rom?
A Update google search from play store.
Q23) My Gnex screen is turning on by itself, what is happening?
A It is caused by an application, usually by live wallpapers, try to find it and delete it, or install an antivirus app., i recommend Dr.Web Anti-virus, scan, delete, wipe cache and dalvik (optional).
Q24) sometimes i lose packet data (3G) when i turn it off then on, i turn off then turn on my Gnex to enable packet data again?
A There is no need to turn your phone off and on to re-enable packet data, just long press on power button, enable airplane mode for 3-5 seconds then disable it.
Q25) I rooted my Gnex, what to do next?
A It is recommended to make a nandroid backup immediately.
Q26) I rooted my Gnex 4.3, made a nandroid backup, but i can not find my backup folder?
A Use a file manager, enable root option, your backup folder is located in data/media/clockworkmod or mnt/shell/emulated/clockwordmod.
Q27) The kernel does not support PGM, is there a solution?
A change the kernel, or install intellicover application.
Q28) Do i need to wipe cache partition when flashing a new rom?
A No, there is no need to wipe cache, because when you wipe data/factory reset, cache is wiped automatically. Some said to wipe cache and dalvik after flashing a new rom to prevent any potential conflict.
Q29) I rooted my Gnex 4.3, flash custom recovery, but when i reboot into recovery, it shows the stock recovery!?
A Every OTA update places two files on device system (that are not there on a non-update stock ROM) that re-flash the stock recovery on EVERY boot. The two files are /system/recovery-from-boot.p and /system/etc/install-recovery.sh. You need to make sure that these files are either deleted or renamed, or else custom recovery will disappear when you reboot. These files serve no purpose other than re-flashing the stock recovery on every boot. So, by using something like Root Explorer, delete or rename them, and re-flash your custom recovery.
Q30) My Gnex won't start, i can not get into fastboot mode, only i can get into download mode?
A Use odin to flash stock firmware here.
Q31) What is the easiest way to install samsung driver?
A The easiest way is to install Samsung Kies.
Q32) How can i flash stock image on my Gnex?
A See efrant thread.
Q33) What about governors, I/O schedulers.....?
A See droidphile thread.
Q34) How to properly post a kernel bug (LAST_KMSG)?
A See ciprianruse88 thread.
Q35) What is the best kernel for my Gnex?
A There is no something called "best kernel". You must try many kernels and decide what suit your rom and your need.

Rooting:
Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. Rooting is similar to jailbreaking devices running the Apple iOS operating system. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system. Rooting enables all the user-installed applications to run privileged commands that are typically unavailable to the devices in their stock configuration.
Legality: The Free Software Foundation Europe argues that it is legal to root or flash any device. According to the European Directive 1999/44/CE, replacing the original operating system with another does not void the statutory warranty that covers the hardware of the device for two years unless the seller can prove that the modification caused the defect.
On July 26, 2010, the United States announced a new exemption making it officially legal to root a device and run unauthorized third-party applications, as well as the ability to unlock any cell phone for use on multiple carriers.
Safety: I Have always said that the person should learn the Android OS before rooting. It is a good idea to have an idea of what rooting is doing and what it will affect. I would say spend your time really learning the OS which is not a small task. Then, if you still feel like it, go ahead and root. While rooting can help you learn many things about your device, it also can reap very bad consequences, such as:
-Bricking your phone (or in an easier way to explain, making your phone a pretty paper weight).
-Corrupting core files.
-Stopping OTA updates from going to your phone.
-Voiding phone warranty.
-Have your phone open to malicious software and applications that can do serious harm to your phone.
As you can see, it can reap very negative things. I have read/seen people who have literally had to buy brand new phones because they tried the latest and greatest rom. Rooting is essentially something that you must take at your own risk & caution. Generally, if you follow exactly the procedure of rooting made by developers, you will be more likely on the safe side.
Root process: See jabakuba thread.
What to do after rooting?: 1) make a nandroid backup via custom recovery 2) backup efs partition (save your IMEI and NV_DATA):
Install "terminal emulator" from play store, open it and type the following (enter after each line):
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 of=/sdcard/efs.img
Then move efs.img to a safe place on your pc.

Problems can happen:
-Stuck into a Bootloop: Bootloops are mainly caused by system files interfering with each others which cause instability and/or crash at the boot sequence. so what to do??
Pull out battery then reinsert it, boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, reboot. If not, format data, system, cache using recovery and restore stock firmware (supposing that you did a nandroid backup before). if you don't have a backup to restore, flash any custom rom from your sdcard after formatting system & data & cache. If you don't have a custom rom in your sdcard, push one from your pc using adb (supposed that you have adb file or sdk on your pc): boot into recovery, connect your phone to the computer open command prompt and write the following command then hit enter (supposing that your rom is placed on D):
Code:
adb push D:\name of rom.zip /data/media/
Or
Code:
adb push D:\name of rom.zip /sdcard/
Then
Code:
adb reboot recovery
once done, go to your phone and install the rom.zip from recovery, reboot.
If none of above methods works, then flash stock image for your Gnex using fastboot commands here.
-Phone-Triangle-computer: If your phone can not boot, can not boot in fastboot or download modes, maybe after a bad flash, and screen shows phone--triangle--computer pic, so it is sort of download mode, use odin to flash stock firmware using this tutorial.
-Nexus is quietly dead: If your phone did not respond to anything, it won't turn on, can not boot into fastboot or download mode, black screen, try "OMAP FLASH", it can save your Gnex.
For 4.2.2 only:
-AOSP Rom incompatibility: After supplying all needed hardware drivers by AOSP, developers has updated AOSPA. So you absolutely need to be up to date regarding Google Bootloaders and Radios, which are not part of the Rom. Or else your device will be incompatible, unable to make calls perhaps and maybe other issues.
Regarding Bootloader, it still the same build for 4.2.2 (primelc03) but the Radio has changed to xxlj1. So you must flash Radio to the latest build using "Fastboot" or through "Recovery":
Fastboot method:(I prefer this)
Unzip "fastboot-radio-maguro-i9250xxlj1.img.zip" (attached), put unzipped image (in the file) into fastboot folder (attached), enable "usb debugging" option, boot into fastboot mode, connect your device to your PC, open a command prompt into fastboot folder and type:
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxlj1.img
Hit "enter"
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Hit "enter"
Code:
fastboot reboot
Hit "enter
Recovery method:
Put "cwm-radio-maguro-i9250xxlj1.zip" (attached) into your sdcard. Boot into recovery and flash the zip file.

Battery Conservation Tips:
-Enable Auto Brightness: Brightness can lure a lot of battery if not changed intelligently with time to match the surroundings, Jellybean in this case brought the “Auto Brightness” function which uses the accelerometer within the device to detect the amount of light in the surroundings and then act upon the brightness level according to it. To enable, go to Settings > Device > Display > Brightness, and tick “Automatic Brightness“. And if you want to save more battery drain, set brightness manually at low level depending on the external amount of light.
-Remove Live Wallpapers: Using a live wallpaper is another battery sucking feature. If you turn out to be truly saving battery, make sure not to use any live wallpaper. A wallpaper with a black background uses less power than a wallpaper with a light-colored background.
-Disable Location and GPS services: Keeping GPS ON at all times, decreases your battery life, so its better to disable it while not in use. To disable, go to Settings > Personal > Location access > and switch it off.
-Disable Wi-Fi or Mobile Data when not in use: Try to avoid situations when you keep your Wifi or Mobile Data ON even when the phone is set in standby.
-Manage Sync carefully: Keeping the Sync ON all the time is another reason for decreased battery life. Enable it anytime you want, manage your emails or services and again turn it off. For those who are on work and want real-time push notifications are advised not to follow this tip.
-Turn OFF Haptic Feedback and screen sounds: To save a little more on battery, its better to switch off the screen touch sounds and vibrations. To do so, go to Settings > Device > Sound and untick Dial pad touch tones, Touch sounds. Screen lock sound and Vibrate on touch.
-Turn OFF bluetooth and NFC: Disabling bluetooth and NFC when you are not using it, is another way to save battery juice.
-Follow the method of full charge and full discharge: Don’t put your phone on charging when there is the battery remaining it for another few hours unless it’s very important. Charge it when your battery is about to get totally discharged and when you put it for charging, let it get charged totally.
-Set sleep time: Check the Sleep setting (under Display) and make sure it is set to 1 minute or less.
Keep calls short: This is obvious, but how many times have you heard people on their mobile phone say, "I think my battery’s dying," and then continue their conversation for several minutes? Sometimes, the dying battery is just an excuse to get off the phone (and a good one, at that), but if you really need to conserve the battery, limit your talk time.
-Turn OFF mobile network when not in range: Its very often that you lose the mobile network when you are travelling, so its advisable to turn OFF the mobile network by switching ON Airplane mode. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks, tick Airplane Mode.
- After each month remove your battery from mobile phone and let it rest for an hour, it will give battery a breath and it will last longer.
-You should not have to turn off your phone to charge it. Most battery chargers deliver more than enough current to power your phone and charge it at the same time. Doing so will not lengthen the charge time, and leaving a phone on allows the user to be aware of its fuel gauge, so that you can remove it when the battery is full.
-When using a car charger, do not charge the battery when the inside temperature of your car is hot. Wait until the car has cooled before you plug in the phone.

Recommendations:
-Too loud wallpapers may sometimes disturb the look of your home screen and make the icons quite invisible, simple or a less-colored wallpapers are always suggested as to be the best choice. But your choice is what matters.
- Use only essential widgets on your home screen - each widget consumes memory and processing power which can slow your down your phone.
- Uninstall apps that you don't use - after awhile your phone can get cluttered as some Apps are designed to always run in the background. If you rarely use an App, then uninstall it to free up memory and CPU resource.
- It is best to avoid task killers such as Advanced Task Killer. Android is designed to automatically pre-load certain applications, even if you don't load them yourself. If it starts to run low on memory, it will smartly unload the oldest running apps automatically. Manually killing tasks will only mean they get loaded in memory again. Task killers can make the phone slow, laggy, or drain battery life more quickly.
- Always use latest CWM or latest TWRP recoveries.
- Disable USB debugging when it is not in use. Leaving USB debugging enabled makes your phone vulnerable (e.g. lock pattern can be reset).
- Avoid putting your Gnex in direct sunlight, it may affect touch screen & your battery performance.
- Learn how to use ADB & FASTBOOT commands instead of using toolkits, the last could not function properly.
- Flash stock firmware using fastboot is preferred than using odin.
- Check rom/kernel.zip md5 before flashing if it is convenient.
- Always update applications, if available, for better performance.
- Make a backup of your data, applications, contacts...always ready to restore from your computer.
- Read, read and read before you mess with your Gnex.
- Always be sure that you are flashing the right thing for your Gnex variant.
- If you do not know what you are doing, so don't do it .

Hello everyone, i see here to collect and post some known and maybe unknown tips and tricks with some important informations, hoping this will be useful for users.
Any more tips, tricks and suggestions from users are always welcomed. And please feel free to make corrections for any wrong or missed information in this post
Questions & Answers
Q I didn't receive OTA update and i am on stock firmware?
A Go to Settings > Apps > All > Google service framework, clear data and force close it, then go to Settings > About phone > System update > Check now. repeat procedure many times.
Q Can i make a screen shot on stock firmware?
A Yes you can! user doesn’t need to root the device or employ third-party apps just to take a photo of what's happening on screen. Taking a screenshot is simple, just press the volume down and power buttons together. The device will quickly take a snapshot of the screen and you will find it in your notifications.
Q What is Barrel Roll?
A As part of Google's regular antics, it had introduced a "barrel roll" trick for desktop browsers. Type "do a barrel roll" as a search term, and Google would demonstrate the power of modern browsers by flipping everything around on your screen. Your Android device can also do a barrel roll if you speak out the same command. Again, It's great fun to show off.
Q How can i uninstall an app. without going to setting?
A Long-pressing on an app within the app drawer pops up a couple of menus along the top of the screen. App Info gives you the boring technical stuff about how much memory it's taking up, or you can fling it off the other way to uninstall it.
Q How can i go directly to the quick settings menu?
A expand notification bar by sliding two fingers.
Q What is inverted rendering?
A Inverted rendering is a posh way of saying it makes the pages black and turns the text white, so it looks like you're reading the internet from 1997. It also supposedly saves battery, plus is easier on the eyes if you're reading in the dark. It's under the browser's settings tab, within the accessibility area - and there's a contrast slider, too.
Q How can i reboot to safe mode?
A safe mode, the saviour of so many Windows PCs! Long-press the power button, then long-press the Power off option. Choose OK to reboot in safe mode, which completely disables all third-party apps on your device.
Q What does reset app. preferences means?
A Android gives you loads of different options for each installed app, and on the whole this is a very good thing. Sometimes it can be a bad thing, though: you may find your phone playing up because a crucial app has been disabled, or you've changed the notifications for something important like emails. In the apps drawer, you'll find Reset app preferences under the settings. This resets all your apps on a global level, returning actions and data settings to their original levels.
Q What is imojis?
A "Emojis" are the Japanese version of emoticons. You can enable emoji support for the default Jelly Bean keyboard by choosing Language & input in the settings app, then going to the settings for the stock Android keyboard. Here, choose Add-on dictionaries and select Emoji for English words. When you next type certain words (there's a complete list here) you'll see its symbol appear in the predictions bar.
Q I can not see Developer Options in settings?
A Google hide this option on JB 4.2.1, to enable it just go to settings---->about phone, tap 7 times on "build number" and it will be shown in settings.
Q I want to see Jelly Bean on my screen, can i?
A Yes you can, go to settings---->about phone tap quickly 4-5 times on android version, you will see a big Jelly bean, touch and hold it, you will see small flying Jelly beans.
Q How can i put my Gnex in fastboot/recovery mode?
A Turn off your phone, press and hold down Volume Up and Down keys + Power button at the same time until fastboot (bootloader) mode (image of an Android with Start) appears then release the keys. Press volume up or down and select recovery by pressing power button.
Q How can i put my Gnex in download mode (odin mode)?
A Turn off your phone, press and hold down Volume down + Power button at the same time until odin mode appears then release the keys.
Q Why google voice search is crashing when i press on mic when i am on a custom rom?
A Update google search from play store.

A There is no need to turn your phone off and on to re-enable packet data, just long press on power button, enable airplane mode for 3-5 seconds then turn it off.
Q I rooted my Gnex, what to do next?
A It is recommended to make a nandroid backup immediately.
Q I rooted my Gnex 4.2.1, made a nandroid backup, but i can not find my backup folder?

A The easiest way is to install Samsung Kies.
Q How can i flash stock image on my Gnex?
A See efrant thread.
Q What about governors, I/O schedulers, TCP congestion?
A See MBQsniper thread.
Q How to properly post a kernel bug (LAST_KMSG)?
A See ciprianruse88 thread.
Q What is the best kernel for my Gnex?
A There is no something called "best kernel". You must try many kernels and decide what suit your rom and your need. But for me AK kernel is the most active kernel in update releases that suit most roms.

-Turn OFF bluetooth: Disabling bluetooth when you are not using it, is another way to save battery juice.
-Turn OFF mobile network when not in range: Its very often that you lose the mobile network when you are travelling, so its advisable to turn OFF the mobile network by switching ON Airplane mode. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks, tick Airplane Mode.
Gnex secret codes:
*#*#4636#*#* Testing menu(Phone, Battery & Wifi Info, Usage Statistics).
*#06# MEID number(Display's your IMEI).
*#*#2432546#*#* Checkin(Manually check for System Updates).
*#*#8255#*#* For Google Talk service monitoring.
*#*#786#*#* Hard Reset(Wipes/Resets Data/Profile & internal storage!) (think before you do it! no warning, no go back).
*#*#1234#*#* or *#*#7873778#*#* Open superuser application.
Recommendations:
-Too loud wallpapers may sometimes disturb the look of your home screen and make the icons quite invisible, simple or a less-colored wallpapers are always suggested as to be the best choice. But your choice is what matters.
- Always be sure that you are flashing the right thing for your Gnex variant.
- If you do not know what you are doing, so don't do it .

Sent from my Nexus Prime
Im still on KitKat and want to stay that way, but my N7 has automatically downloaded Lollipop and has the notification to install. How can I remove this notification, delete this update to free up space, and prevent it from happening again?
I know this must have been covered someplace else, but Ive spent the last 20 minutes searching and havent found a definitive answer....
Thanks!
I got this from some thread here.
Depends if you are rooted or not.
If rooted, you need to disable 3 receivers. To do so use one of the apps:
Autorun Manager, or
Autostarts (free in F-Droid).
The 3 receivers to disable :
service:com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
(this will run on boot competed).
com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver-
(this will check for OTA on connectivity change).
com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$SecretCodeReceiver
(this will check for OTA when your phone "handles" the secret code).
.........
If not rooted, I "think" you can go to
Settings / apps
Go to All tab
Select "Google Play Services" and unselect "show notifications".
This second method has some disadvantages but I don't remember what they are.
Hope this helps.
I'm in autostarts and seemingly have all of these disabled (I am rooted) as seen in the screenshot, but still getting the update notification (as also seen in the screenshot).
Thoughts?

Bump for an answer. Would like to know this too
I found this yesterday:
Download System Tuner, free from google play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.pmw&hl=en)
Open App
Click Startups
Navigate to Google Play Services - If you do not see this in the list, press add in the bottom right hand quarter and navigate to it
press and hold over Google Play Services
Press Open
Press Details
Press Activities
Navigate to update.SystemUpdateActivity and uncheck it
restart phone
This did the trick for me. I am unsure whether this also removes other notifications from google, but it certainly got rid of the annoying "system update downloaded" notification.
Or better still if you are using xposed framework download the NotifyClean module. Let the Update System notification appear after a reboot and then select it in NotifyClean to get rid of it. Brilliant!

Unless I'm mistaken, all this is doing is hiding the notification. While that's great, the notification currently says "System update downloaded", so my assumption is space is being taken up by this download which I'd really like to clear up.
With the issues many have reported running Lollipop on the N7, I'm really surprised there isnt a common, well known process for this.
Then try my message #5 above.

The Fire Toolbox is a collection of useful ADB (Android Debug Bridge) tweaks that can be applied to Amazon's Fire Tablets. The Toolbox project aims to help users fully customize and unlock the full potential of their tablets by putting all the power into their hands. The Toolbox doesn't touch the system partition meaning all changes made can be reversed either through the tools/subtools themselves or through a factory reset. This means the Toolbox does NOT void your warranty.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FIREOS 7.3.2.2+ AND THE TOOLBOX (PLEASE READ)
If your tablet is running FireOS 7.3.2.2 or above please note that some functions of the Toolbox may not work due to new restrictions in the new firmware. The following tools either do not work or have limited functionality:
• OTA Updates - OTAs can no longer be disabled.
• Manage Amazon Apps - Some system apps can no longer be disabled.
We're looking into workarounds to the issues detailed above. Please keep an eye on the forum for further development.

In this forum, you may hear the word "generation" being used when talking about Fire Tablets. Just know that "generation" effectively means the same as "what year was the tablet manufactured?". This may seem confusing and as a result a reference table has been provided for you below.
Getting the Toolbox up and running with your tablet is surprisingly a very easy procedure. The only thing required is for you to enable Developer Options and ADB on your tablet. So, without further ado, let's get started.
At this point, please read the section below, and make sure to follow the correct guide that is made for your tablet on how to set up the device so it works with the Toolbox.
FIRE HD 7, 8, 10 (2018 - 2022) Guide:
Spoiler: Show Guide
Before purchasing the tablet:
Make sure you uncheck the "Link device to your Amazon account to simplify setup" box before Adding to Cart. (See this screenshot, credits go to @ancientrael)
if the box remains checked, your tablet will automatically update to the latest version of FireOS the second it auto-connects to your wifi.
Booting the tablet for the first time:
Wait for your tablet to fully boot up for the first time (may take a few seconds to minutes).
When it boots, it will ask you for the language you'd like the OS to use. Select your prefered language.
Tapping the blue arrow at the bottom of the screen, you'll be asked to connect to a WIFI network.
Select ANY network from the list (even if you don't know the password).
Once it asks for the password, tap the "Cancel" button and it will take you to the previous screen with the Wifi networks.
At the bottom of the screen, you should now see a "Skip Setup" button, go ahead and tap that.
It will now ask if you're sure you want to skip fire setup. Just tap "Skip" once more.
You should immeditely be thrown into Fire Launcher. You're now ready to enable USB/ADB Debugging.
Enabling USB Debugging:
Turn on your tablet and go to Settings > Device Options > About Fire Tablet and tap on the Serial Number until you unlock Developer Options.
Press the back button and find the new Developer Options and toggle it on.
Scroll down till you find USB Debugging and enable it.
Setting up the drivers:If you are on Windows 10 or Windows 11 you do NOT need to following this guide because Windows will setup the needed drivers by default automatically. All you need to do is plug your tablet in and Windows will take care of the rest. Please wait until these drivers are fully installed before laucnhing the Toolbox for the first time.
Download the latest version of the Toolbox from the Downloads section of this page and install it onto your PC.
Plug your tablet into the computer, and Windows will start installing the MTP drivers. It will also attempt to install the ADB driver but will fail. (This is normal and to be expected)
Launch the Toolbox, and it should detect your Windows version and inform you that further driver setup is required. It will then ask you if you'd like the Toolbox to download and install the drivers.
Click the "Yes" button, wait for the download to finish and follow the driver setup. If this for some reason doesn't work, please follow this guide to manually install the drivers.
At this point, If drivers are setup properly... the Toolbox will inform you that the "device isn't authorized. Please authorize your device now."
On your tablet, you should see a new prompt asking if you want to Allow USB Debugging and should show the computer's RSA key fingerprint. Tick the box that says "Always allow from the computer" and hit ok.
That's it, the Toolbox should recognize your tablet and will take you to the main menu. Enjoy!

My Home Button isn't working after using the Custom Launcher Tool?Due to the way the process works, it alters your navigation bar's home key to send a key event that can be picked up by Automate. Once Automate reads this event, it launches your custom launcher automatically. However, if the flow in Automate isn't running, the navbar key will not work, and nothing will happen when it's tapped. To fix this, either open Automate and start the "Launcher Invoker" flow again, or execute the Custom Launcher tool in the Toolbox, click the ":" icon (upper-right) to show the Tool Options panel, and click the "Restore Navigation Bar" button to restore the stock layout.

Google Family Link won't work on my tablet?Unfortuently, no matter how hard we try, we still haven't been able to get Family Link to work correctly on the tablets. The Family Link app fails to install, and the Child account refuses to login. No matter what we tried, we couldn't get a Child account to work on the tablets. We believe this has to do with missing dependecies, and the tablets not being certified through Google's Play Protect platform. We're still activly looking into getting the issue resolved. Until then, it's recommended that you use an alternative such as Amazon's FreeTime, Eyezy, or another third-party family managing software.

How can I remove a Google Account from my tablet?Because of the missing accounts section in the Settings app it will be a little more difficult to remove Google Accounts directly from the tablet. The easiest way that I've found is to visit this page: https://myaccount.google.com/security, sign-in to your Google Account, scroll down to "Your Devices" and click the "Manage devices" button. From the list of devices find your tablet and in the upper right-corner click the 3-dot icon and from the list select "Sign out".

Can the Toolbox be used to root my tablet?Primarly, rooting a Fire Tablet requires the user to open the back of the device and short out a certain point on the motherboard. The Toolbox has been designed for folks who'd rather not bark down this alley. It uses the power of ADB to make changes, and is meant to be an alternative to rooting. In summery, the Toolbox isn't designed to root.

The Toolbox is being marked as a virus? This is likely because the Toolbox (and it's installer) aren't signed with a software license. This freaks Windows out because it sees that there is no publisher, and as a result it displays a warning (smartscreen). In addition, some anti-viruses might also flag the Toolbox as a virus simply because the build is relatively new and there is no record of it in the anti-viruses database, resulting in a false positve. As always, I take your security and privacy VERY seriously! If you do not feel safe with installing the Toolbox due to virus concerns, I respect and support your decision. It is always up to the user and their judgment!

This tool is designed to install Automate, push Amazon Lockscreen Ads Remover V4.5 to tablet, and install all permissions required to run the script. Now, to get it all set up and working you need to enter Automate and open the settings. From here you are looking for an option that's titled "Run on system startup" make sure you enable this option. Now, for installing the adblocker you can import it into Automate (Flow is found on your internal storage or sdcard) Or you can download the script from the automate community. Refer to this forum if you need assistance (skip steps 1-5 because they have already been done automatically by the toolbox). Sorry I can't write up a detailed post, I'm at a family gathering at the moment. Just let me know if you need further assistance.
Great tool! However, after "removing everything Amazon", it seems to have also removed parental controls which screws up some things. I get "the requested action is not permitted. Check parental controls settings and retry" when I try to download offline translation functionality in Google Translate. When I go to the the tablets settings>parental controls, it won't open. Also seems to not allow install of Amazon related apps like kindle and prime video.

It's kind of annoying right? So, whats happening is Its coded to remove Parental Controls but I've just discovered it isn't able to because Parental Controls is a Device Administrator which you can't uninstall even with ADB without deactivating it first. As a result, I will update the tool so it doesn't remove anything related to parental controls until we can find a way to disable it. However, chances are kind of slim. I don't think its possible without root but we will see. I'm also thinking about a restore option for the "Remove Everything Amazon" tool that returns the amazon system apps so you don't have to do a factory reset.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about this. I can test it at home and let you know how it goes if you would like. However, it would be a few hours from now if your interested.
Will this work on a Kindle Fire 10" Gen 5 version? I've already hacked my wife's 2017 using another more complex path to doing so, but a friend just asked me to hack his Gen 5 10" and I'd love to do it as easily as this. However, a bit nervous if this doesn't allow it.
I think I answered my own question. Using a windows 10 computer, I connected the 10" Fire Gen 5... ran the program... and it continually crashed after initially finding the kindle. I never got the menu with the options. And where does this program unpack itself to once the EXE zip is run?
Quick question, is there already a new version around?

I believe this may be a bug in the tablet detect section of the code. I know it can read Hd10 (2017), hd8 (2017), and hd (2018) without error. I'm not sure what's going on but I will look into it. Oh and also, a new version of the tool is coming soon!

Hey everybody,
I guess I was not the only one being a bit disappointed that google didn´t make adaptive audio available for the Pixel 4 devices as well.
To be honest I personally think it´s a bit of a gimmicky feature that´s not very critical, but making it exclusive to Pixel 5 left a bitter after taste.
Here´s how to enable the feature persistent across reboots on a rooted device:
1. Download the pixel 5 device personalization app from apkmirror and install the app:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/device-personalization-services/device-personalization-services-r-11-playstore-pixel5-353007393-release/device-personalization-services-r-11-playstore-pixel5-353007393-android-apk-download/
2. Flash the attached magisk module Adaptive_Audio_Settings_Enabler.zip via magisk manager app and do a reboot.
Wait a few minutes after the phone booted successfully and the entry in settings will appear.
Manual command method, doesn´t survive reboots but works on unrooted devices as well:
1. Download the pixel 5 device personalization app from apkmirror and install the app:
Device Personalization Services R.12.playstore.pixel5.357001175 APK Download by Google LLC - APKMirror
www.apkmirror.com
2. Make sure to have USB Debugging enabled via developer options and have a working adb environment. Then connect your phone to pc.
3. Type the following:
Code:
adb shell
4. then type (this step is not needed)
Code:
su
grant superuser permission in the window that opens on your phone.
5. Now paste the following commands:
Code:
device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__enable_adaptive_audio true
Code:
device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__show_promo_notification true
You can enable it now in settings and try the feature for yourself.
A few notes here:
I´m unsure how much profit this feature really gives, even on the Pixel 5. When enabling it on my 4XL the sound gets a bit more bassy.
Judging from the logs it should be working as it is with the steps described above. It might be that it´s tuned towards the Pixel 5, but well... Having options is always nice
The guide with the manual commands works without root, for those that don´t like to run rooted. I was able to disable and enable the feature back again without the need for root. Maybe some apps can execute scripts without root on the phone so it will stay across reboots. Somebody else has to figure this out though.
Have fun with it

Thank you for the tip, but whenever I reboot the phone it will not stick, I'm currently rooted.

You´re correct. I didn´t notice it, because it takes a short while for the setting to disappear after rebooting.
I made a magisk module, that passes the command every boot after a timeout. Magisk required obviously

After installing the module, I added the commands using adb shell but adaptive sound still does not persist after a reboot.

Flash the module in magisk manager, reboot, wait a few minutes and the entry should pop up. It needs a few minutes. There’s no need for any manual commands with the module.

There are plenty of guides on xda on how to setup adb.
How to install ADB on Windows, macOS, and Linux
If you're on Windows, Linux or macOS, you can follow these step by step instructions to install ADB on your desktop or laptop PC.
www.xda-developers.com
If you are rooted with magisk and unfamiliar with command line, there's also the magisk module.

Open it in play store and hit uninstall. Then update again and it will install the latest one for pixel 4.

Open this link when viewing xda via browser on your phone.
I am sorry telling you that my friend but I am rooted and did yesterday the process and everything was ok, after some seconds as you said the adaptive sound wan in my menu.
Today as I went to check if it was still there, kaboom, disappeared so I uninstalled everything and did it from the beginning, so it can be installed again.
Have an idea why?
Let's go ahead and give this a try. Thanks
Can confirm that it still does work. But after rebooting even with the root method and the module still showing up in magisk adaptive sound vanished in settings. Reinstalling the module makes it appear again and function.
Edit: The feature just vanished without a reboot. Guess Le Googs doesn't wan tus usingit RIP.
The comment above and I are experiencing the same symptoms. When a module is installed, it is initially visible in the configuration, but sometimes it is not present after a period of time. If you reboot each time, it will come back.
However, I wish it could be maintained without rebooting.

That can't be verified. However, sometimes when time passes, it may not be in the setting.
I don't think there's a solution, but thanks for letting me use a service that doesn't support it.
I think I figured out why it sometimes disappears when I check it after some time.
I'm using the dolby digital plus module, but after deleting this module once, I tested to see if it disappears after a while, and the adaptive sound was maintained.
I'm not sure if it's causing a conflict between modules. I also noticed that the two modules run together at first.
